Supercard 97: All-Star Summer Showdown

The heat is on for the Supercard of the Summer! The mercury always rises to its apex in August when the biggest names in history converge for the All-Star Summer Showdown! The annual Great Arena spectacular brings blood feuds to the boil, dream matches to reality, and career defining moments that will echo through time. It's half-summer bloc party, half-championship play-off! All the titles will be on the line, but none is bigger than the Undisputed Championship main event! It's show time!

16. "The Chosen One" Damo (c) defeated "Champion of Champions" Poasty in a close fought match! [+1] [Undisputed Championship]
Everything about the Championship Preview preceding the match seemed to favour "The Chosen One" Damo, but there was just one flaw in the overwhelming advantage of his experience: Poasty already defeated him! As Division 2 Champion; Poasty won the clash of champs in the Second Round of the Mid-Year Grand Slam, inspiring the nickname of "Champion of Champions". He lost his title in a surprise upset at Pre-Show 96, but immediately bounced back with an unexpected victory in the 2017 Royal Roulette match! While Damo was dominated the gold, Poasty vowed to win it! An opportunity he simply couldn't pass-up, cashing-in on an opponent he knew he could beat!

Most years the Undisputed Championship is defined by two or three fighters, and Damo had proven himself a "Chosen One" with wins at The Spring Classic and Tower of Power XIX! The odds were in his favour, but Poasty has never cared much about odds. The blue chipper looked remarkably at home in the Summer main event, immediately going toe-to-toe with the champ! Every time Damo tried to exert powerful dominance over the match, Poasty found an energetic counter-attack! It truly looked as if The Champion of Champions might pull off the steal of the century, but The Chosen One was able to call upon an extra gear. It went down to the wire, but in the end, Damo secured the win!

With the crowd going wild, Poasty reluctantly offered his to Damo in a show of respect. They shook, but Poasty assured him that he'll be coming for the gold again. Damo raised his hand, confident in the knowledge his next challenge will be far more familiar when Supercard 98: Night of Champions VI brings former Undisputed Champions back for a shot at his title.

15. Mick's All-Stars defeated The Invasion in a Survival Sequence! [5-4]
1. Rockey316 (Mick) elim. Shen_DuHBK (Invasion)
2. Black Rook 1 (Invasion) elim. Rockey316 (Mick)
3. Violent`J (Mick) elim. Black Rook 1 (Invasion)
4. Black Rook 2 (Invasion) elim. Violent`J (Mick)
5. The_Hurricane (Mick) elim. Black Rook 2 (Invasion)
6. DaemonX (Invasion) elim. The_Hurricane (Mick)
7. Statix (Mick) elim. DaemonX (Invasion)
8. Genku (Invasion) elim. Statix (Mick)
9. Mick (Mick) elim. Genku (Invasion)
Survivor: Chairman Mick

After destroying DaemonX at Dead Or Alive V; "The Spirit of Vengeance" Michael Lucifer retreated from the fight to become an official behind The Great Arena. When Chairman Mick refused to show for Genku's challenge at Dead Or Alive X, it seemed he would never fight again. After six months of continuous verbal attacks from Genku, he resorted to flat-out calling Mick a failure and a coward. It was the last straw that finally got The Chairman to act - with a catch! Genku would have to earn his match by fighting through four ICWW All-Stars fresh from their 15th Anniversary at DOAX!

Rockey316's much publicized return at Dead Or Alive failed to produce a golden win, but as the first fighter in for Mick's All-Stars, he was in fine form! "Italian Bishop" Shen_DuHBK managed to get an early shot in, but it was all Rockey after that! The Invasion recruited their mysterious enforcers for the match, bringing Black Rook 1 in to quickly dismantle the tiring sensation. The arena lit up as Violent`J arrived, entering into an all-out back-and-forth war with The Rook! BR1 briefly had control, but the Y2Juggalo was able to fight back for the elimination! He had nothing left for Black Rook 2, though, gifting an easy out. The_Hurricane ran in to a punishing blow, but recovered to sweep away the second Rook. No such luck against DaemonX, who swiftly dominated Hurricane, taunting him over the July turn of his partner AlbertBeefcake! Statix picked up where his teammate left off, unleashing holy hell against The Invasion leader for a vicious elimination! This left only Genku, who had no trouble wiping out his old rival Statix! This set the stage for the fight everyone wanted to see! Chairman Mick charged in to Sudden Death, taking full advantage of Genku's prior skirmish. It was like a flashback to ICWW as The Chairman rained down blows on Genku! There was nothing he could do. For the first time in five years: Chairman Mick celebrated the 5-4 win over Genku and The Invasion, joined by his All-Star teammates!

14. CCShadow & Scott-Howell (c) defeated Ratt & NightHawk in a dominant victory! [+4] [Duo Division Championship]
CCShadow & Scott-Howell may be one of the veteran pairings in The Great Arena, but their second Duo Division Championship win at the 2017 Spring Classic came with some surprise. In the months since: they've established themselves as the new dominant pairing, but the surprise return of Ratt & NightHawk at Dead Or Alive X signaled fresh uncertainty from an All-Star rematch challenge! Ratt remains one of the most awesome Hall of Fame fighters in arena history, and with NightHawk, one of the few teams to have beaten Team Xtreme! They captured lightning in a bottle with their Ultimate Grand Prix VII championship win, but CCShadow & Scott-Howell's time was long coming! After a close fought series with The Pacific Connection, it was presumed Ratt & NightHawk would enter the match favourites. Much has changed in the last four months, though. CCShadow & Scott-Howell have perfected the winning formula of a champion team. In front of a stunned audience, they once again proved they're the best tandem in the league by upsetting Rattamania at the Supercard of the Summer! The Duo Division has come to be defined by dominant forces, and with this win, CCShadow & Scott-Howell announced themselves as the new dynasty to beat!

13. VenoMark defeated ElJobber in a heinous battle! [-1/-6] [Steel Cage Fight]
The Summer celebrations of the previous match dissipated as competitors entered the arena for a very different type of match. The ominous confines of the Steel Cage lowered as #1 Contender ElJobber found himself in unfamiliar surroundings with a confident opponent. VenoMark knew he would have to go to extremes to beat the Iron Man who took contention from him at Supercard 96. With an undefeated streak in the Steel Cage against some of the best in the league: VenoMark knew the risk would be worth it. ElJobber clutched steel bars with uncertainty, but when the bell rung, there was no time for caution. VenoMark charged his opponent, immediately turning their environment into an unforgiving weapon! ElJobber's experience allowed him to fight back, but the dismantling endurance of UGP Death Matches couldn't prepare him in the violent sprint of a Steel Cage Fight! VenoMark fought like there was no tomorrow. Both man bled that day, but it was ElJobber who was unable to stand. VenoMark emerged from the Steel Cage 5-0, with the soft metal of gold back in sight!

12. "The Guardian" CaTigeReptile defeated Kron in a spectacular victory! [+6]
The tone shifted for one of the more unique contests at this year's All-Star Summer Showdown. Hall of Fame legend Kron returned to action during the Mid-Year Grand Slam, where he found one of his toughest opponents in Quarter FinalistCaTigeReptile. Knowing the result could've easily gone the other way, he challenged CTR to meet him again, and finally take the next step toward securing her place as a bona fide All-Star! The resulting rematch confirmed what many already knew! CTR was at her very best, seizing the opportunity to drastically reverse her tournament fortunes! Under the lights of the Supercard of the Summer, against one of the legends of competition, CaTigeReptile executed a dominant +6 victory! The Guardian celebrated her landmark win as Kron recovered from the impact, applauding the rise of the league's newest All-Star!

11. "The New Generation" DECEPTION & Onryo defeated "The 5 Minute Kismet" Baraka_MK & MKMaster in convincing fashion! [+2]
It was the loss that divided a generation: Baraka_MK and "Mad Dog" Onryo went to Ultimate Grand Prix VII to beat Mark & Leroy - but were stunned in an upset defeat! They split-up to better hone their fighting technique, but when Onryo was closing in on the Div.2 title, BMK found a new partner: MKMaster! Allegiances tore The New Generation apart, and while BMK & MKM failed to beat Mark & Leroy at Supercard 94 -- DECEPTION came to Onryo's aid, slaying their dragon at Supercard 96! BMK & MKM settled the score at Dead Or Alive X, but the perceived insult of The New Generation's one-upping celebration was already felt. At All-Star Summer Showdown, BMK & MKM were announced by a new name - The 5 Minute Kismet! The new-look team were strong, but not strong enough to mitigate the All-Star pairing of DECEPTION & Onryo! The former Duo Champs were back to their very best, writing their own destiny of victory!

10. "The Pacific Connection" Oozaru & Banging defeated Jammer2Omega & Porygonix and "The Invasion" Jason_Voorhees & edge in a spectacular 3way performance! [+2/-1/-1]
Ever since UGP7; The Pacific Connection has been on a whirlwind tour, defeating some of the very best teams the Duo Division has to offer! The rise of the classic combination and their championship series has put the pinch on rising pairs like Jammer2Omega & Porygonix, and Invasion rivals Jason_Voorhees & edge! With Oozaru & Banging missing out on gold at Dead Or Alive X, the target was on their back! The rivalry between The Connection's opponents played to their advantage as they revisited their Supercard 96 grudge! J2O & Pory managed to neutralize The Invasion, but the effort expended took its toll. The Pacific Connection navigated their way to a strong All-Star victory!

9. United: Mime (c) defeated Evil AlbertBeefcake in a comprehensive win. [+1] [KFL Championship]
The United's domination of The Invasion earlier in the night seemed like a good omen for reigning KFL Champion Mime. The champ himself has been dominant since capturing the gold at Ultimate Grand Prix VII, but in Evil AlbertBeefcake he faced an unknown. Albert was once a sworn enemy of The Invasion, but after disappearing suddenly, he returned at Supercard 96 by their side! Victory at Pre-Show 97 secured Evil AlbertBeefcake the opportunity to corrupt the KFL gold, but Mime would not be so easily bamboozled! He retained against Rockey316 ten days prior at Dead Or Alive X, and put on another All-Star performance at the Supercard of the Summer! The result was never in doubt as Mime cruised to his ninth consecutive defense! A result that could've been far more painful!

8. Marz defeated United: The_Purple_Bunny in a comprehensive victory! [+7]
Before the 2017 Royal Roulette match; the paths of Marz and The_Purple_Bunny had rarely had reason to cross. As one-half of Team Xtreme, Marz set records in The Great Arena as Duo Division Champion. With his surprise entry into Royal Roulette, he revisited days as a record-setting ICWW World Champion! Celebrating ICWW's 15th Anniversary at Dead Or Alive X: Marz faced the other runners-up in a three-way, bundled out by The_Purple_Bunny on a quest for his 7th Undisputed Championship reign, in 2017! Attempted payback at Pre-Show 97 saw Team Xtreme suffer a rare loss at the hands of United All-Stars! A fire was lit under Marz that could not be denied come All-Star Summer Showdown! The_Purple_Bunny was arrogant, clearly under estimating his legendary opponent! Marz took full advantage, calling upon years of Hall of Fame experience to dominant TPB with a heinous +7 impact! An All-Star victory that left The_Purple_Bunny livid!

7. "The Predator" TonyTheTiger defeated "Red Nightmare" LordSkarlet in a comprehensive victory! [+3]
LordSkarlet has become a self-styled "Red Nightmare" for the fighters of The Great Arena, but its his own recurring horror he blames for stalling a Red Reign. He defeated TonyTheTiger at the 2015 All-Star Summer Showdown, but The Predator has continued to periodically disrupt his path ever since! He memorably sent LordSkarlet on a downward spiral after Ultimate Grand Prix VI. During his comeback in the 2017 Royal Roulette match -- history repeated itself. Payback was supposed to be swift and brutal after making TTT run the Red Reign gauntlet, but TonyTheTiger was destined to cause more upset for The Red Nightmare. The Predator was well prepared, executing a defensive-offense that cost LordSkarlet +3 impact! Salt in the wound of a demoralizing defeat!

6. Shinnokxz (c) defeated "Wild Pegasus" Zentile in a solid win! [+3] [Division 2 Championship]
An ability to fight on the edge led Zentile to two memorable reigns as Div. 2 Champion during last year's title blitz -- but his high-risk style has been slowly catching up with him! "Wild Pegasus" earned a title opportunity at the last minute, unseating favourite contender G0LD at Pre-Show 97! It was recovery from DOAX disappointment, but the instability of his style was evident when he came to All-Star Summer Showdown! Shinnokxz arrived at the big show untested, having been a surprise title winner at Pre-Show 96: Heat Up Scramble. Zentile presented a legitimate concern to the new champ, but when push came to shove, Shinnokxz pushed harder! A stunning +3 impact confirmed Shinnokxz was no mere fluke! A punishing result pushing Zentile precariously close to the edge!

5. The United defeated The Invasion in a dominant Survival Sequence! [5-2]
1. zelse (United) elim. Zengeance (Invasion)
2. zelse (United) elim. TripleH (Invasion)
3. WilliamRegal (Invasion) elim. zelse (United)
4. Murdoink (United) elim. WilliamRegal (Invasion)
5. Murdoink (United) elim. Jauger (Invasion)
6. Loopster (Invasion) elim. Murdoink (United)
7. Mimik (United) elim. Loopster (Invasion)
Survivors: Mimik, Artanix & Shoe

The Invasion were banished from Monday Nights at the beginning of the year, but Loopster found a vulnerability in The United in July, that he attempted to widen with a new front. A United broken by injury and in-fighting weren't there to defend, but the return of Shoe rallied the troops, leading to a dominant win in a round of VS United! Loopster managed to persist, leaving the last course of action to be a 5-on-5 Survival Sequence! Beleaguered rookie, zelse, led the charge in his first All-Star Summer Showdown, earning two stunning eliminations! WilliamRegal quickly stemmed the flow for The Invasion, but Murdoink obliterated him just as fast! Jauger managed to force Murdoink to work hard for his second elimination. Loopster effortlessly picked off Murdoink, but was no match for The United's Hall of Fame heavyhitter: Mimik! A stunning 5-2 result saw Shoe & Artanix join Mimik in celebrating The United's dominant victory in the Survival Sequence!

4. Benjamin defeated King Ken in a comprehensive result. [+2]
Coming out of Royal Roulette; Benjamin and King Ken had a common enemy in TonyTheTiger. Efforts to resolve the three-way issue quickly turned the pair against each other as Benjamin brushed Ken aside. A rematch further reinforced Benjamin's ability to out muscle King Ken, but throughout 2018, he's been a man torn between individual and tandem disciplines. Ken took advantage of this, crushing Benjamin with the aid of Bee_07, after bouncing back at DOAX! With Ben's lot in the duos dashed, the stage was set for the ultimate showdown! They've been comparable in so many ways, but King Ken's legendary career has always been undermined by failing to win big. Benjamin rose to the occasion, earning a comprehensive victory on the big Summer stage!

3. "Red Reign" Sekktor & legoslayer10 defeated "The Greek Crisis" maxilos & proXade in convincing fashion. [+1]
Six months ago The Greek Crisis were on a path of revolution as one of the top teams in the Duo Division. The high of participating in Tower of Power XVIII soon turned to a tragic low when the early stages of The Red Reign delivered a devastating defeat as unannounced challengers! The six month journey back for proXade finally came to an end as he and maxilos proudly marched into the arena! legoslayer10 had to play substitute in the comeback grudge match: The Red Reign suffered a karmic loss in April when hydraslash became victim of his own brutal injury! The change in line-up didn't diminish their team credentials. Sekktor & legoslayer10 reprised the role of Summer winners. The reunited Greek Crisis never the less celebrated the glendi of their Summer return, making up for missing out at UGP.

2. Mark & Leroy defeated "Brexiteers" Liam & nif [+1]
Mark & Leroy were the benchmark squeezed between competing rivals at Dead Or Alive X and Royal Roulette. The legacy of their Ultimate Grand Prix VII excellence almost cost them, but a strong win at Pre-Show 97 saved their place at the All-Star Summer Showdown! Awaiting were a duo who've set the division on fire: The Brexiteers have established themselves as a Top 5 pairing through hard work and determination. That drive wasn't enough in a match that didn't really capture either team in their best light. It wasn't pretty, but a down and dirty struggle delivered Mark & Leroy another win to compliment their UGP success.

1. DArqueBishop eliminated Chromatose to win the Summer Elimination Battle Royal!
Battle Royal Eliminations:
1. Darfus elim. Red_Spaniard
2. Chromatose elim. Kiara85
3. Menas elim. McDaniel
4. NovaStarr elim. Nemesis316
5. DArqueBishop elim. Politics
6. Onimike elim. KombatKid
7. Onimike elim. redman
8. Menas elim. Darfus
9. Chromatose elim. Coltess
10. NovaStarr elim. Onimike
11. DArqueBishop elim. SubMan799
12. G0LD elim. ]{0MBAT
13. xort elim. Menas
14. Nephrite elim. Jerrod
15. Nephrite elim. xort
16. Chromatose elim. G0LD
17. NovaStarr elim. Nephrite
18. DArqueBishop elim. NovaStarr
19. DArqueBishop elim. Chromatose
The big event atmosphere started to build as twenty fighters made their way into the arena for the opening salvo: a twenty-fighter Summer Elimination Battle Royal!

The heat was on as Kiara85 threw the opening blow, absolutely rocking Red_Spaniard! As the action erupted, it only took 31 seconds for Darfus to find his way to Red_Spaniard for the first elimination of the match! That was quickly followed with an act of karmas "The Sword of Europe" Chromatose cut down Kiara85 at the 62 seconds mark!

Onimike enjoyed a brief blitz in the first-half of the match, scoring back-to-back eliminations of KombatKid and redman! A surprise package also came from Menas, who outlasted partner Politics significantly, with an elimination of Darfus, to boot!

By the half-way point, it was becoming clear the match was a three-horse race between Chromatose, NovaStarr, and DArqueBishop. NovaStarr ended Onimike's exciting night to usher in the second half. DArqueBishop kept former allies turned Pre-Show rivals separated with an exit for SubMan799 at #11!

Top Division 2 prospect G0LD and Nephrite were able to exert some dominance around the middle of the battle. G0LD delivered chip damage to the top prospects in the match, finding time to eliminate ]{0MBAT. Nephrite got his licks in, chopping away at Jerrod and xort for two well earned elims!

Nephrite managed to hang in as part of the final four for a moment. He struck long time Fighter For Europe rival, Chromatose, with a punishing blow, before NovaStarr capitalized with a quick ambush elimination! The Sword of Europe paid her back in kind - delivering two hard shots that helped DAB secure the penultimate elimination! Chromatose attempted to cut DArqueBishop off immediately, but DAB was able to turn the tables! It took time to cut The Sword down, but persistence paid off with DArqueBishop securing the big win in the Summer Elimination Battle Royal!

Supercard 94: Red Reign

For months The Great Arena has been caught in a living nightmare. LordSkarlet and his congress were once The Fallen, but the fall of hydraslash would be the last. They have begun the rise to a Red Reign that will soon consume all! Shoe was the first to be declared, now it is time Artanix pays for his callous actions. At Supercard 94 the red reign will descend upon The Great Arena!

12. ElJobber defeated "The Chosen One" Damo (c) in a hard fought match! [+1] [Undisputed Championship]
A lot can change in two months in The Great Arena, but its said those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it. After winning this year's UGP Battle Royal; Damo set about convincing the world of his "Chosen One" status by winning the Undisputed Championship at The Spring Classic. He followed with a compelling title defense against VenoMark at Supercard 93: The Chosen! During that time, ElJobber was missing in action, recovering from the grueling toll of winning an Iron Man Death Match at Ultimate Grand Prix VII. Earlier in the year he'd beaten Damo to win the 2017 Grand Prix Launch, and briefly held the title after winning it at Battle Royale. Some felt ElJobber's return title challenge was an act of nepotism, but the challenger remained unmoved by notions of rumor, or superstition. The Chosen One would not relinquish his status without a fight. ElJobber found himself confronted with an opponent fighting as his peak, but history would not be denied. In an incredibly hard fought match, the result was the same as the Grand Slam Launch Final. The Chosen One was no more -- ElJobber wins the Undisputed Championship for a fifth time!

11. "Red Nightmare" LordSkarlet defeated United: Artanix in a soul destroying battle! [-8/-6] [Steel Cage Fight]
A night of competition had created a mounting atmosphere of tension that snapped with the sight of the descending Steel Cage! LordSkarlet stood beneath its cold bars as he welcomed Artanix into its nightmarish embrace for the first time! At The Spring Classic, LordSkarlet had declared the dawning of a "Red Reign" christened with Shoe's blood. The newly re-dubbed "Red Nightmare" announced the Red Reign would officially begin at Supercard 94! From there, the battle erupted - a violent clash marinated in unrepentant hatred! Artanix took MAX Damage from LordSkarlet at Supercard 93 in retaliation for Shoe's defeat. At Supercard 94, LordSkarlet would finally bring Artanix to penance for executing hydraslash during the April 24th edition of VS United! It would be a victory unlike any other ever witnessed in The Great Arena before, though! As they took turns grinding each others faces into the unflinching grate of the Steel Cage - both sustained significant damage! LordSkarlet had the wherewithal to executed the final finishing move, but when the fighters were removed from the Steel Cage, it was The Red Nightmare whose blood had stained the arena floor! LordSkarlet may have won the match, but the damage he sustained throughout the fight was worse than that of his opponent!

10. Genku defeated VenoMark in a comprehensive victory! [+4]
In their worship of the coveted Undisputed Championship, they are very much alike, but its that very similarity that makes them deadly enemies! Supercard 89: Breaking Point was supposed to be a crowning for Genku, but instead his celebration was interrupted by VenoMark! VenoMark turned a vicious attack into an against-the-odds win at Pre-Show 90: Venomous Creatures when he took the title in a Six-Fghter Eliminator! Genku pursued him doggedly to a historic first-ever title defense during Friday Night Fights, but could not rescue his UGP main event dream. VenoMark's reign ended soon after at The Spring Classic, and with a controversial title bout already made for Supercard 94, the stage was set for a long awaited grudge match! Genku thought a takeover of The Invasion would insulate him, but VenoMark got the better of Genku in a June 2nd attack. It looked as if history would get the better of Genku one more time, but in their long awaited one-on-one rematch, he had all the motivation he needed to finally get payback! Genku brought his A-game to overwhelm VenoMark with a poetic +4 impact equal to their clash of trios just two days earlier! A conclusive victory, but when these two fighters are concerned, it's hard to imagine any result will be the last!

9. CCShadow & Scott-Howell (c) defeated "The Pacific Connection" Oozaru & Banging in a solid victory. [+1] [Duo Division Championship]
The competitive rivalry between The Pacific Connection and CCShadow & Scott-Howell has already produced two bona fide contenders for Match of the Year. Their main event clashes on May 5th and at Pre-Show 93 were two of the closest battles the Duo Division Championship has seen in years! Hopes were high for an exciting third chapter in the rivalry, with the champions seemingly vulnerable after an intense run of competition, including their exit from The Invasion during the coup of the May 26th Friday Night Fights. Alas; it was Oozaru & Banging who dropped a gear in their Supercard 94 clash. They secured their shot with a strong win against Jason_Voorhees & edge at Supercard 93: The Chosen, but when the action reached a heavyweight level, this time The Pacific Connection could not maintain the line! The two teams shook hands as their rivalry seemingly came to an end.

8. United: The_Purple_Bunny defeated "The Guardian" CaTigeReptile in a complete decimation! [+29]
The inaugural edition of VS United ushered in an exciting new era for the Monday Night Games, but for The_Purple_Bunny it remains a night he'd rather forget! CaTigeReptile scored an impressive upset victory for her team, which derailed TPB's goals of winning a 7th Undisputed Championship in 2017! He finally settled the score at Supercard 93 with a strong win, but now that CTR is redoubling her efforts to fight to her first Undisputed Championship -- a rematch was inevitable! The Guardian has shown she's more than capable of fighting for the league's top prize, but at Supercard 94, her powers betrayed her! CTR capitulated on the grand stage, while The_Purple_Bunny summoned one of his best performances of the year! The result was an all-out decimation that was one impact grade away from MAX Damage! The win was much needed for TPB after other recent upset losses, which have been the source of a growing rivalry between he and United teammate Mimik!

7. DaemonX defeated Statix in a solid result. [+4]
Revelations at The Spring Classic led AlbertBeefcake to challenge DaemonX at Supercard 93, but the investigating fighter never showed for the match! Suspecting foul play, Statix issued a challenge of his own, expecting to interrogate DX - or suffer the same fate as Albert. DaemonX looked notably surprised when Statix arrived for his match looking a little worse for wear. Surprise soon turned to aggression as The Invasion fighter launched an attack that Statix seemed unable to match! Evidence suggests DaemonX could be the "Black King" behind a mysterious conspiracy uncovered at UGP, but hard facts to support suspicion would remain out of reach as DaemonX claimed a solid victory.

6. Poasty (c) defeated Shinnokxz in a comprehensive victory! [+4] [Division 2 Championship]
A three-way contender's match at Pre-Show 94 elevated Shinnokxz to his first challenge for the hotly contested Division 2 Championship! In recent months Shinnokxz has truly developed into one of the hot new prospects, leading many to believe his hard work and toil could make him a serious threat to the champ. Poasty's third reign has garnered considerable expectation after two prior aborted runs with the gold. He proved he can shoulder the pressure like a true "franchise player", effortlessly defending the gold with a comprehensive win! A harsh induction into the contention ranks for Shinnokxz, but another promising defense in what could be a career defining reign for Poasty!

5. Jammer2Omega & Porygonix defeated "Brexiteers" Liam & nif in a solid victory. [+2]
The last month has seen a fire lit in the hearts of "Brexiteers" Liam & nif! The long time pairing impressed last month at Supercard 93 with a win over Politics & Menas, as well as a string of victories during the minor shows. Jammer2Omega & Porygonix presented the ultimate stepping stone for The Brexiteers, who've never fought for Duo Division gold! They pitched their attack at a usual level, but found J2O & Pory far too strong for that! The Brexiteers were sent packing with a +2 impact to think about at the end of a confident win!

4. Mark & Leroy defeated Baraka_MK & MKMaster in a narrow victory! [+1]
Baraka_MK & MKMaster forged an alliance under threat of common enemies, but their victory at Pre-Show 93 was just the beginning! A four match undefeated streak has proven their chemistry as a pairing -- possibly even greater than BMK and his former partner: Onryo! The New Generation split to develop their techniques after losing to Mark & Leroy at Ultimate Grand Prix VII, but with Onryo pursuing the Div.2 Championship, BMK & MKM built enough belief to go after the UGP victors! With speculation The New Generation ate showing signs of cracking, the new pairing went to war at Supercard 93 -- and almost won! The remarkably close fought match may go down as a loss for Baraka_MK & MKMaster, but with only a month together, they celebrated like it was a win! Find out if they're still smiling when The New Generation competes in a special edition of VS United - tomorrow!

3. "The United" Mime (c), Murdoink & zelse defeated "The Red Reign" Sekktor, redman & legoslayer10 in a dominant victory! [+2]
When they were still calling themselves "The Fallen"; Sekktor, redman & legoslayer10 managed to upset The United at Supercard 93: The Chosen. With KFL Champion Mime stepping in to captain the trio this time, hopes were The United's Pre-Show 94 Survival Sequence win could continue a trend of domination against The Red Reign. Mime didn't disappoint, making a significant difference as The United coasted to a dominant victory. The Red Reign's hopes would lie in a high stakes match later in the night, when LordSkarlet would invite Artanix into the nightmare of a Steel Cage Fight!

2. Politics & Menas defeated SubScorpTile & ErmackDaddy [+1]
Recent upheaval in the ranks of the Duo Division has pushed several new teams into Supercard considerations. SubScorpTile & ErmackDaddy have quietly earned their place with wins over The Invasion at Pre-Show 93, and Benjamin & Mo2 during FNF. A rare stumble by Politics & Menas at Supercard 93 presented an opportunity to pounce, but the veteran pair were able to steady their course with a confident win against the upstart pairing.

1. "The Hitman" DECEPTION defeated "The Predator" TonyTheTiger in convincing fashion! [+2]
At Pre-Show 94: Blood Gold, "The Predator" TonyTheTiger was booked to face DECEPTION in a standard exhibition bout. What resulted was a surprising upset victory as The Hitman succumbed to an unexpected loss! Refusing to make excuses, DECEPTION rejected claims that cracks forming in The New Generation were the cause of distraction. In a fiery opening match, DECEPTION backed his words up with a convincing rematch victory over TonyTheTiger! DECEPTION will next captain The New Generation when they reunite for a special edition of VS United - tomorrow!

Supercard 92: Spring Classic (2017)

The Spring Classic has become an annual tradition! A carnival to celebrate everything that came before at Ultimate Grand Prix VII -- and everything that will be in the coming months! The Spring Classic attracts some of the greatest fighters in Great Arena history, giving them one final stop on the UGP Season calendar to engage in legendary exhibition bouts, and bitter grudge matches! In 2017, The Classic delivers something for everybody with UGP dynasties tested in exciting ways!

14. "The Chosen One" Damo defeated VenoMark (c) in a hard fought victory! [+1] [Undisputed Championship]
Damo officially earned the right to challenge for the Undisputed Championship in a #1 Contenders match at Pre-Show 92, but his journey to The Spring Classic has been much longer. He started the year right as Runner-Up in the 2017 Grand Slam Launch, and made good on his promise to win the 7th Annual UGP Battle Royal at Ultimate Grand Prix VII! Everything about his run suggests he truly is "The Chosen One", but it was a very different story at the end of last year! An intense rivalry with VenoMark culminated at the All-Star Summer Showdown with a Steel Cage Fight that placed Damo's career in serious jeopardy! He only fought a few more times after the brutal grudge match loss, staggering from one defeat to the next. On the flip side: VenoMark rode his success to the final elimination of Battle Royale (2017), an unprecedented 6-fighter Eliminator win for the Undisputed Championship at Pre-Show 90: Venomous Creatures, and a main event title defense at UGP!

VenoMark's path had been hard fought and well earned, so at The Spring Classic he was naturally expected to beat an opponent he'd long since put behind him. Everybody thought it would be hard and fast, an easy finish to a brutal month. The only person who wasn't aware of that was Damo! He declared himself "The Chosen One" under false pretenses over a year ago, but at the 2017 Spring Classic he was determined to make his claim a reality! In a hard fought heavyweight encounter, he threw everything he had at his old rival! When the dust settled, Damo was everything he said he was -- and the new Undisputed Champion! A shocking conclusion to another Spring Classic!

13. "The Invasion" CCShadow & Scott-Howell defeated Ratt & NightHawk (c) in a competitive contest! [+1] [Duo Division Championship]
Ratt & NightHawk set a new bar for the Duo Division Championship when they dethroned Team Xtreme in one of the biggest moments of Ultimate Grand Prix VII! Earlier that same night: "The Invasion" CCShadow & Scott-Howell followed up their Grand Prix Show tournament win with another solid victory! The long serving combo have been reinvigorated since joining The Invasion, and promised to make an exciting challenge for titles they've unbelievably only held once before! It was the perfect storm for a momentous Spring Classic showdown -- and the battle did not disappoint! Both teams showed incredible desire, representing a standard for team competition rarely seen! Ratt & NightHawk entered the contest as favourites, but their uneven chemistry showed signs of weakness against the studied cohesion of the challengers. In a moment that will go down in history, CCShadow & Scott-Howell turned the new Duo Division Championship era on its head - claiming a well earned second reign in a classic match!

12. "American Nightmare" LordSkarlet defeated United: Shoe in a brutal battle! [-2/-6] [Steel Cage Fight]
Tensions between The Fallen and The United have been present since the night after members of The Fallen reorganized at Tower of Power XVIII -- but they escalated dramatically this week with the unexpected fatal defeat of hydraslash during VS United! LordSkarlet immediately lasted out to upgrade a scheduled team match to one of the most vicious challenges a fighter can issue: The Steel Cage Fight! The "American Nightmare" was a pacing predator as United: Shoe made a nervous entry into the dread metal construct! LordSkarlet has made an unlikely habit of turning the cage into his own personal chamber of horrors, using it to viciously beat King Ken as recently as Ultimate Grand Prix VII! In his first time inside the steel, Shoe made an admirable attempt to control the fight much as he has on Mondays. The order was short-lived, however, as LordSkarlet gave in to his primal urges! Slamming and raking Shoe against the cold metal, he announced the beginning of his Red Reign! A heinous victory that left Shoe unable to stand, but clearly took a toll on both fighters.

11. Genku defeated "Y2Juggalo" Violent`J in a comprehensive win! [+4]
The man called Genku has been walking a bitter path since his short-lived title reign ended at Pre-Show 90: Venomous Creatures. He was beaten soundly by VenoMark, but has found no shortage of targets to receive his blame. Violent`J had a legitimate part to play as the man who falsely accused Genku of Invasion Election fraud, but in a twist of fate and parody, its the "Y2Juggalo" who went after Genku, blaming him for costing Team Xtreme their Duo Division Championship at Ultimate Grand Prix VII! Genku beat Violent`J for information on the March 24th edition of Friday Night Fights, unlocking the key to an actual conspiracy! It was another act of contempt shared between two fighters who never respected each other - even when they were fighting for the same side. That dislike was plainly evident as Genku took advantage of his upper hand, beating the Hall of Famer mercilessly to the tune of a heavyweight +4 impact. A much needed win for the beleaguered fighter.

10. "Pacific Connection" Oozaru & Banging defeated "The Invasion" Jason_Voorhees & edge in a comprehensive victory! [+1]
It was Jason_Voorhees & edge who issued the challenge for The Spring Classic, but both teams had reasons to fight coming out of Ultimate Grand Prix VII! Oozaru tried to take on the entirety of The Invasion at UGP, fighting for the soul of his Pacific Connection partner Banging! He succeeded in taking out edge, but was bundled out early in a surprise elimination by Jason! Banging had been part of Oozaru's team all along, and The Spring Classic was a chance for The Invasion to strike back at their wayward son. The only problem was overcoming the awesome reunion of one of the greatest tag teams in ICWW/Great Arena history! The Pacific Connection have been on fire since reconnecting, dominating the division during Friday Night Fights! Jason_Voorhees & edge may have earned their way to the top of the Duo Division, but they were no match for the fan-favourites! The damage was minor, but the result was never in doubt. Oozaru & Banging were dominant at The Spring Classic!

9. Poasty defeated MKMaster (c) in a comprehensive victory! [+6] [Division 2 Championship]
2017 is turning into a breakout year for MKMaster! He was completely unexpected as Runner-Up in the 2017 Grand Prix Warm-Up tournament. He surprised again, leveraging the result into a last minute Div. 2 Championship win, that also saw him successfully defend the title at Ultimate Grand Prix VII! MKM's title win took full advantage of Poasty's intense focus on slaying his dragon at UGP. With both fighters victorious at the Supercard of Supercards, it could only mean a highly anticipated rematch at The Spring Classic! The champ showed signs of his impressive momentum, but destiny was on the side of Poasty! With the crowd in attendance on their feet, Poasty set the record straight, winning the Division 2 Championship for a glorious third time!

8. Pink_Ranger defeated "The Guardian" CaTigeReptile in a solid win. [+1]
She may've lost the KFL Championship at UGP7, and been rejected by the women of the league at Pre-Show 92, but CaTigeReptile will always have the distinction of being the league's only Women's Champion -- unless you ask Pink_Ranger! The original "Queen Bee" of The Great Arena returned to The Spring Classic to prove you can't crown a Women's Champion without going through her! It was an unexpected challenge that brought an even more unexpected result! CTR had showed tremendous strength two days prior, but languished in her battle with the returning legend! In front of a stunned crowd, Pink_Ranger backed her chutzpah up with a stunning Spring Classic victory!

7. United: Mime (c) defeated NovaStarr in convincing fashion. [+3] [KFL Championship]
With his win at Ultimate Grand Prix VII: Mime ended the reign of the KFL Women's Championship begun in February. With so many women still positioned to be contenders, fifteen of the league's top ladies were invited to compete in a final gender-exclusive Contender's Elimination Battle Royal at Pre-Show 92: Revolution & Retribution. There; NovaStarr endured as last woman standing after they all turned on self-appointed "Guardian" and former champ: CaTigeReptile! CTR was NovaStarr's only elimination for the entire match, but it was the one to counted! With her title shot secured, NovaStarr marched into The Spring Classic -- only to be convincingly defeated. It's been controversial, but the position that the Women's Championship lowered the gold has been hard to disprove.

6. "The United" Artanix, The_Purple_Bunny & Murdoink defeated "The Fallen" Sekktor, legoslayer10 & redman in a comprehensive victory! [+7]
Hostilities between The Fallen and The United began the night after Tower of Power XVIII, where LordSkarlet orchestrated a re-organization of fractured allies, and used that week's Monday Night Games to test their might. The Spring Classic was supposed to pit the two teams against one another in a 5-on-5 Survival Sequence -- but the unveiling of new member redman during an edition of VS United also cost them hydraslash! The shock injury dramatically escalated tensions between the two groups, with Sekktor, legoslayer10 & redman insisting on carrying on the fight in a contest of trios! An admirable challenge, but an overwhelming one as lethal victor Artanix was joined by legendary 6-time Undisputed Champion The_Purple_Bunny and Murdoink! The Fallen trio were hopelessly outmatched as The United utterly decimated them! A devastating result ending in a fortune +7 impact, but not the final word on the feud! "American Nightmare" LordSkarlet would still have a chance to even the score in a Steel Cage Fight against United leader: Shoe.

5. "The Predator" TonyTheTiger defeated United: Mimik [+1]
History will remember Mimik as a three-time winner over TonyTheTiger at Ultimate Grand Prix, but The Predator could not let his loss at UGP7 be the final word on their rivalry! He was desperate to rewrite his fate at the 2017 Spring Classic, and used that fire to fuel the attack on his Hall of Fame nemesis! Mimik put up a solid defense, but TTT found the ferocity he'd lacked on the big stage, using it to secure a modest but clear victory!

4. Statix defeated DArqueBishop in convincing fashion. [+2]
When Statix went to Friday Night Fights the week after UGP7, he was looking for DArqueBishop -- but got Ghrimm instead. A subsequent attack confirmed Statix' hunch that a chess piece dropped by Shen_DuHBK at Ultimate Grand Prix VII might have something to do with The Invasion. The Spring Classic gave Statix the platform he needed to draw DArqueBishop into the open. A convincing win gave him the leverage to challenge DArqueBishop on his role as the Invasion's newest kingpin. DAB produced another bishop after the match -- revealing that he received the chess piece from DaemonX upon accepting the position as The Invasion's new management. He offered no further details, leaving Statix to ponder the latest twist in The Case of The Italian Bishop.

3. Mark & Leroy defeated Jammer2Omega & Porygonix in a solid contest. [+1]
An underdog victory at Ultimate Grand Prix VII brought Mark & Leroy one step closer to the pinnacle of the Duo Division that Jammer2Omega & Porygonix have guarded since rising in 2016. The Spring Classic was the perfect stage to test these two teams in titanic tag competition. Their clash was a close one, but in another mild upset - it was Mark & Leroy who took the next step toward the Duo Championship! A stunning follow-up to their demoralizing defeat of The New Generation!

2. "The New Generation" Baraka_MK, Onryo & DECEPTION defeated The_Hurricane, GreenLantern & AlexanderLuthorJr in a comprehensive trio victory! [+3]
Despite going their separate ways after Ultimate Grand Prix VII: The New Generation were happy to reconvene as a trio to help Baraka_MK deal with a triple threat of super-foes who've vexed him during the Monday Night Games. GreenLantern has dogged BMK since the night after UGP, with AlexanderLuthorJr taking his turn April 17th, before the pair double-teamed BMK on April 24th! "Mad Dog" Onryo helped BMK beat both at Pre-Show 92, and now "The Hitman" DECEPTION was on target to even the odds with The_Hurricane stepping in to help the "dynamic duo". Even with The_Hurricane's help, their super-team could not negate the awesome force that is The New Generation! The Spring Classic granted them a nice reason to celebrate as a team!

1. Politics & Menas defeated McDaniel & fraysol [+1]
The Brexiteers were the target of McDaniel & fraysol when they went to Ultimate Grand Prix VII, but it was Politics & Menas who walked away from the three-way duo battle the ultimate victors. Liam & nif were dealt with at Pre-Show 92: Revolution & Retribution; advancing McDaniel & fraysol to a UGP grudge match at The Spring Classic! Without the burden of a second rival team, they were much more competitive. Politics & Menas were just too strong in the end.

Supercard 91: Ultimate Grand Prix VII

It is the moment when past, present and future collide! Ultimate Grand Prix is the arena spectacular where men walk side by side with legends! It is the culmination of everything that has come before it -- and everything that will follow! For some, victory will spell immortality. For others, it will be the quality of their fight that defines them.

With one of the most anticipated cards in history: Ultimate Grand Prix VII promised to once again raise the bar for the Supercard of Supercards! Blistering hot grudges months or even years in the making! Hall of Fame superstars in history making action! An Undisputed Championship match unlike any other! You could feel it coming in the air - and UGP7 did not disappoint!

16. VenoMark (c) defeated United: The_Purple_Bunny in a comprehensive victory! [+7] [Undisputed Championship]
A UGP Championship Match Preview cleared the air and reminded everyone what the main event was all about. An epic night had brought Ultimate Grand Prix VII to its apex. In the challenger's corner was the 2017 Battle Royale winner: The_Purple_Bunny. An accomplished fighter who's seen the main event of UGP before, and was intent on winning his seventh Undisputed Championship at UGP7! Entering second was VenoMark: a beleaguered defending Undisputed Champion whose fight to earn his place was one of the hardest on record! TPB eliminated VenoMark last to win the Battle Royale contender's match. He even dominated the champ on the road to UGP in bouts from January and February! The odds seemed stacked in the challenger's favour, but anything can happen at UGP!

VenoMark was a restrained furnace of intensity as The_Purple_Bunny talked trash at the face-off. VM kept his focus trained away from TPB until the fight officially began! Then he exploded at TPB, launching an aggressive assault that completely bamboozled the UGP veteran! TPB scrambled to keep himself in the match, but VenoMark was unrelenting! Just as TPB had been minted with a dominant win in the main event of UGP4; VenoMark proved himself with a comprehensive +7 victory! An unimpeachable success on the grandest stage of them all!

In front of a stunned and elated crowd, VenoMark celebrated his Undisputed Championship like he'd won it for the first time! It was a crowning moment for a fighter who's faced overwhelming adversity at every turn. A confirmation even greater than winning the title in the 6-fighter Eliminator of Pre-Show 90: Venomous Creatures! The culmination of an incredible year at UGP7!

15. Ratt & NightHawk defeated "Team Xtreme" Marz & Violent`J (c) in a decisive victory! [+1] [Duo Division Championship]
History will know them as one of the Duo Division Championship's most dominant forces! "Team Xtreme" Marz & Violent`J brought their tag team expertise to The Great Arena in 2012, remaining undefeated until 2015, when they lost to Ratt & NightHawk at All-Star Summer Showdown. Shortly after their first recorded loss, they set about making history with a 420 day title reign that last until December 2016 -- their first in this league! To ensure it lasted that long, Violent`J had used his allies in The Invasion to avoid the rightful challenge of Ratt & NightHawk. Seven months after they earned their title opportunity, The Rattamaniacs made sure new history was written at Ultimate Grand Prix VII! Team Xtreme had reclaimed the titles in February at Supercard 89: Breaking Point. Their second reign was to be cut well short as the returning Ratt & NightHawk showed Violent`J he was right to fear them! Rattamania once again filled The Great Arena at UGP as he and NightHawk stunned all in attendance with a decisive victory! The atmosphere was euphoric as the two-time Duo Division Champions celebrated their win over the Hall of Fame pairing! Just another amazing moment for a fighter synonymous with UGP in Ratt!

14. ElJobber defeated m0s in a devastating fatal encounter! [-1up] [Iron Man Death Match]
It's difficult to conceive of a time when m0s and ElJobber could ever have fought on the same side. Their hatred has festered for more than year as m0s harbored an unforgiving grudge that grew with every defeat he suffered in 2016. The demise of the KFL sub-league made them enemies at Ultimate Grand Prix VI, and led m0s to quit after a rematch loss the next week! When Mime destroyed his brother at Supercard 79; m0s blamed ElJobber for his role in designing the apocalyptic Lucifer's Ladder! m0s returned for an unsuccessful grudge match at All-Star Summer Showdown, and another malicious attempt at Supercard 86: Survivor Sequence. He tasted defeat every time, but as the former "Mister Daruma" could attest - it takes five layers to topple the traditional Daruma-Otoshi!

They entered the arena in darkness with a heavy tension in the air. Analysis suggested m0s would be at a physical disadvantage, but he shrugged off a slap from ElJobber to take immediate control of the match! He chipped away at ElJobber with a string of stinging jabs. ElJobber tied it up and tossed m0s across the arena. The match went into its next phase as ElJobber started throwing heavy bombs: -3p, -2p, -9p, -3p, -1p! m0s could feel he was in trouble so he dug down deep and threw everything he had to rack ElJobber for a devastating -30 impact! With that single blow, m0s gained the upper hand and sent a shockwave of belief through everyone in attendance!

The game-changing shot sent ElJobber into emergency mode. He scrambled to use the chip tactic to stabilize the match and reestablished his dominance with a -22p, -3p, -25p combo! He opened up a massive 54 gap, but m0s wasn't going away that easy! He fired back with a trio of stinging -2p jabs. ElJobber outdid with two hard shots worth -7p. m0s snapped back fast with chip damage and built it up to another haymaker -30p that brought him back to contention! ElJobber was knocked silly as he walked into a -9p follow-up that built m0s' momentum! In serious danger, ElJobber swung for the fences to hit his own -30p destroyer! Leaning against each other just to stay standing, m0s slapped him for a -3p. 6 seconds from the 10 minute mark - ElJobber struck back with another -30p!

All of a sudden the closed gap was opened back up! m0s was standing on the deficit side 68p against 125p! He chopped ElJobber and hit a morale boosting -16p blow! ElJobber shut it down with another violent -30p that reduced m0s to just 39p! The next five minutes became a horror show as The Great Arena watched one fighter systematically destroy another. m0s was determined not to fall, but the spark of potential was out. He could do nothing as laws he'd chosen condemned him, enduring just a while longer with no energy left to fight back. Quitting was no longer an option. After 14 minutes and 31 seconds m0s could block no more. Though it cost him dearly: ElJobber was winner of the Iron Man Death Match at Ultimate Grand Prix VII. A brutal end to a heinous grudge.

13. "The Hitman" DECEPTION defeated Kron in an utter destruction! [+11]
The main event of last year's Ultimate Grand Prix VI confirmed DECEPTION's place among the pantheon of UGP legends! His successful Undisputed Championship defense against Hall of Famer Kron will be remembered as one of the greatest matches of all-time. Kron certainly couldn't forget it! When it came time to find the perfect opponent for his return to Ultimate Grand Prix, Kron couldn't pass up the opportunity to go another round with DECEPTION! The crowd was wild as the two titans entered The Great Arena. A wry smile crept across Kron's face as they squared off. Anticipation for the pure and simple contest was building to fever pitch. Nobody could've expected what would go down! The feeling out process was equitable, but as the match reached a higher gear - The Hitman was striking every target! Kron staggered as he was overwhelmed by the leader of The New Generation! There was no doubt about it as DECEPTION executed a stunning +11 impact to win the highly anticipated UGP rematch! Another amazing victory against a Hall of Fame legend!

12. Hokey defeated Genku in a decisive victory! [+1]
It was supposed to be the perfect conclusion to a charmed career: Hokey was a fan-favourite from the beginning, but rather than end his Hall of Fame career in celebration, an Invasion Election threatened to spoil his farewell. It was never about philosophy or history for Genku. He joined The Invasion last August to protect a title shot from Royal Roulette cash-in by Hokey. The Kingmaker never had any intentions of interfering, but Genku's selfish lust for gold finally pushed him too far in November. The saga of post-election accusations has kept Genku twisting in the wind for four months! At last his paranoia was rewarded: A final parting gift from Hokey - and the perfect set-up for a blockbuster final battle at Ultimate Grand Prix VII! The atmosphere was electric as the two fighters took centre stage. Genku tried to be dismissive of the newest Hall of Famer, but faux arrogance couldn't hide his obvious frustration. Every vicious effort to punish his nemesis was shut down. Hokey would not let his UGP farewell be ruined! With the crowd on their feet, Hokey ruled The Great Arena one last night time! There would only be misery for Genku as Hokey showed no mercy, earning a decisive victory! Basking in his victory Hokey addressed the crowd for one last time, thanking them for their support and promising that although his regular fighting days are over, he will see them again!

11. United: Mime defeated "The Guardian" CaTigeReptile (c) in convincing fashion! [+1] [KFL Championship]
Self-appointed "Guardian" CaTigeReptile won acclaim at the end of 2016 when she led a Koalition against The Invasion's brutal conquest of The Great Arena. She easily resisted their fleeting remnants in the aftermath, setting her sights on guarding a more specific class. A title win on February 13th set up the controversial unveiling of The KFL Women's Championship: a title exclusively defended against the women. Mime had lost the title to CTR, and emerged as a skeptic as she tore through the female ranks unchallenged. He called it an unjustified bias that was costing the title its credibility. In the highly anticipated inter-gender challenge, Mime backed up his bold claims as the untested CTR met her match! It was a gentle, but one-sided battle as Mime convincingly dominated the match. The Guardian couldn't find her world beating best, forced to succumb to a defeat not only for her gold, but her KFL Women's revolution, as well. The first title to change hands at Ultimate Grand Prix VII!

10. Poasty defeated United: Shoe in a solid victory! [+8]
Poasty started the year off right at Battle Royale with a long awaited reclamation of the Division 2 Championship he'd lost last June! It was the joyous culmination of a 2016 filled with dizzying highs - and crushing lows. Just two months prior, Poasty nearly walked away from the fight. United: Shoe lit a fire deep within his psyche with a heinous September assault that endangered his comeback from injury! The violent episode was unprecedented and it haunted Poasty in subsequent defeats during Friday Night Fights, and Supercard 86. At Ultimate Grand Prix VII, Poasty was single-minded in his goal to slay his dragon! It was one of the most anticipated matches of UGP7 and when they finally came face to face -- no one quite sure what would happen. It turned out to be a catharsis for everyone in attendance! With a performance that defied his status Poasty overwhelmed his veteran opponent! He rained blows down until finally a convincing +8 impact registered his unequivocal victory. As the crowd chanted his name, Poasty turned to his nemesis - and offered his hand! If for only one night, Poasty and Shoe would have their moment of peace at UGP!

9. "American Nightmare" LordSkarlet defeated King Ken in an utter demolition! [-0/-13] [Steel Cage Fight]
The mood changed as an ominous structure was lowered into the arena's centre. Elation left the air, turning to dread in a ceremony of preparation that signaled the coming of a Steel Cage Fight! It was first conceived as a means to keep intruders out - and fighters in. Instead, it has become an instrument of spiteful torture used by those driven to vicious - or desperate means! King Ken had not seen The Great Arena since that fateful night in November when LordSkarlet's invitation to "The Fallen" ended with his fall! Ken saw the Steel Cage as a war machine perfect for reclaiming his kingdom, but he failed to realize LordSkarlet had conquered it before! The confines of the cage became a living nightmare for Ken as he tasted his own blood - instead of his enemy's! LordSkarlet endured every heinous collision with the unforgiving metal, forwarding it ten-fold to his challenger! With a horrified UGP audience in attendance, Ken succumbed to The American Nightmare once again!

8. Team Oozaru defeated The Invasion in a Survivor Sequence! [5-3]
1. Oozaru (Oozaru) elim. edge (Invasion)
2. Jason_Voorhees (Invasion) elim. Oozaru (Oozaru)
3. The_Hurricane (Oozaru) elim. Jason_Voorhees (Invasion)
4. The_Hurricane (Oozaru) elim. Grayback (Invasion)
5. The_Hurricane (Oozaru) elim. DaemonX (Invasion)
6. DArqueBishop (Invasion) elim. The_Hurricane (Oozaru)
7. DArqueBishop (Invasion) elim. PaganFreak (Oozaru)
8. Statix (Oozaru) elim. DArqueBishop (Invasion)
Survivors: Statix & Banging

Committed to finally fighting for his Pacific Connection partner, Oozaru chose to enter first in the fight against The Invasion! His first roadblock proved tougher than expected, edge doing what he could to wear the Aussie down. Jason_Voorhees capitalized with a hard fought brawl that cost Team Oozaru their captain! The_Hurricane was the first ICWW alum entrusted to fight the good fight, and the superhero did not disappoint! He effortlessly dealt with Jason_Voorhees and Grayback! Old foe DaemonX may have dominated Banging's soul in the distant past, but he could not suppress the will of The_Hurricane! It looked as if The Invasion were as good as thwarted, but DArqueBishop's new role as Manager was asserted in ominous fashion! The_Hurricane was blown away in an instant. PaganFreak did his best to make Oozaru proud, but the back and forth soon went DArqueBIshop's way! With the momentum swinging back in The Invasion's favour: Statix entered to send a jolt of electricity through the heart of The Great Arena! His energy overwhelmed DAB and brought victory to Team Oozaru! The match was billed as the fight for Banging's soul, but it turned out the tortured Kiwi had already made his choice! The mystery fifth man waiting in the wings revealed himself as Team Oozaru gathered to celebrate a momentous reunion at Ultimate Grand Prix!

7. United: Mimik defeated "The Predator" TonyTheTiger in a solid result. [+1]
When TonyTheTiger was eliminated from the Fourth Round of the 2017 Grand Prix Warm-Up, old wounds were suddenly re-opened. Ultimate Grand Prix had been the scene of one of TTT's greatest triumphs last year, but ever since the Arena Spectacular's inception: Mimik has cast a shadow over The Predator! Mimik decimated TTT at the inaugural UGP, and got the best of him again three years later after being inducted into the Hall of Fame! Driven by a fire in his blood, TonyTheTiger came to Ultimate Grand Prix VII to write the final chapter in their three act feud! It was supposed to be his coda of victory, but the script did not go according to The Predator's plan! He fought well, but Mimik once again proved he's one of the UGP greats! Big game that fought back for a convincing win!

6. "The Invasion" CCShadow & Scott-Howell defeated Jammer2Omega & Porygonix in a solid victory. [+1]
Throughout 2016 Jammer2Omega & Porygonix worked hard to establish themselves as one of the rising stars of the Duo Division. They hoped to cement their success in the 2017 Grand Prix Show tournament, but were pipped in the Semi Final by eventual defending winners: CCShadow & Scott-Howell! Eager to prove themselves on the grandest stage of them all, J2O & Porygonix were hungry in their rematch with UGP mainstays! The hopeful pair found an extra gear in their enthusiastic attack, but their veteran opponents have been equally refreshed since joining "The Invasion" in March! CCS & Howell couldn't inflict the damage of their previous encounter, but once again found answers for the aspirational assault. The competitive UGP performance of J2O & Pory will still be a feather in their cap, but it's The Invasion who will be watching the Duo Division Championship with great interest!

5. AlbertBeefcake defeated Shen_DuHBK in a solid win. [+1]
When Shen_DuHBK came forward to claim his vote was altered in The Invasion Election, an unlikely partnership was formed when investigator AlbertBeefcake became his personal guard. Their unusual chemistry dominated Tower of Power XVIII, but the partnership was based on a lie. Shen confessed to plotting against Genku early in March -- a betrayal that also cut deep into the heart of Albo! The "Italian Cyclone" was able to avoid retribution, but under the lights of Ultimate Grand Prix there was nowhere to hide from justice! AlbertBeefcake came to fight, delivering a decisive beat down to the fraudulent whistleblower! As he claimed his righteous victory, a curious item fell from Shen_DuHBK's person: a chess bishop. The Beefer's expression was quizzical as he left the arena.

4. Mark & Leroy defeated "The New Generation" Baraka_MK & Onryo [+1]
Big things were expected of "The New Generation" Baraka_MK & Onryo coming in to UGP. They were one of the favourite teams contesting the 2017 Grand Prix Show event, but in an unexpected twist, their Second Round stoush with Mark & Leroy ended in a complete draw! Massive intrigue surrounded the potential for a rematch and it could only happen at Ultimate Grand Prix! Expectations once again favoured The New Generation, but something about these teams brings out the unpredictable! With the world watching, Mark & Leroy once again proved they're a team to reckoned with, eking out a hard earned UGP win!

3. MKMaster (c) defeated Jerrod in a complete destruction! [+11] [Division 2 Championship]
The fate of the Division 2 Championship was uncertain headed into UGP, but a stunning performance in the 2017 Grand Prix Warm-Up gave MKMaster the mojo he needed to earn a UGP debut with gold around his waist! He took it from Poasty at the last possible moment, but if the Fourth Round of the lead-in tournament had gone another way -- it could've been Jerrod! The arena veteran had been a stand-out under pressure for last year's Canadian Olympic team, but solo success eluded him on the biggest stage of them all! MKMaster proved it wasn't a fluke, earning another unexpected feather in his cap with a dominant UGP victory!

2. Politics & Menas defeated McDaniel & fraysol and "Brexiteers" Liam & nif in a hard fought three-way battle! [+1/--/-1]
No combination in the 2017 Grand Prix Show impressed quite as much as the Semi Finalist teams of McDaniel & fraysol and Liam & nif! Each surpassed expectation, but it came a little easier for the Brexiteers thanks to an unexpected bye. A UGP rematch between the teams seemed inevitable, but the misfortunes suffered by Politics & Menas meant officials saw exciting potential in a three-way contest. They weren't wrong, either! Away from a full tournament bracket, McDaniel & fraysol were able to outclass The Brexiteers! Endurance proved to be their undoing once again however, as Politics & Menas powered through to a solid UGP victory!

You could feel the excitement in the air as UGP kicked off with the beloved annual tradition of the UGP Battle Royal! Coltess and SubScorpTile were the first of thirty fighters drawn to enter randomly.

The standard 90 second interval meant a world of pain for Coltess! He suffered a battering that only got worse when #3 legoslayer10 came in and started a double-team! Colt was briefly relieved when Jauger came in to even the sides, but the damage was already done. SST had the privilege of the first elimination, but the arrival of #5 Loopster almost immediately ended legoslayer10's day.

The UGP Battle Royal paused for a moment as Loopster, Jauger and SubScorpTile gazed at each other. All three were members of The Invasion throughout 2016, but SST had drifted since the December collapse. He was the odd man out as Loopster & Jauger began a domination of the match and every competitor who entered!

Hot prospects DeathScepter and Rockey316 were mere playthings for The Invasion! The surprise Hall of Fame entrant was able to endure, giving Sekktor the chance to break through a pummeling and take out Jauger!.He kept his momentum rolling, ending #11 maxilos' run after just 34 seconds and #12 JoelKatz as soon as he entered!

Approaching the halfway mark, winner of the UGP4 Battle Royal Rockey316 turned up the heat! He ran wild, alternating attacks between Sekktor and #13 entrant Onimike! Despite the hard hits, there was a drought of eliminations until Shinnokxz arrived at #16 to finish off a battered hydraslash! He played a part in thwarting the hopes of the fighters who've been part of the KFL women's league, Kiara85 and Shizuma exiting 10th and 11th!

It was more than six minutes before the next elimination came, leaving the UGP Battle Royal to fill with fighters! #21 NovaStarr created anticipation given her impressive history in the match, but was #17 United: Murdoink who shook things up with the elimination of Onimike! He was unable to make the save for United newcomer zelse, who succumbed to another elimination by Sekktor. The Fallen fighter made his case for victory 62 seconds later when he made Loopster the 15th exit!

With 12 fighters still active in the match -- business picked up with the arrival of #28 "The Chosen One" Damo! Damo guaranteed victory in the lead-up to UGP, but he made surprisingly little impact on arrival. A formidable coalition was briefly formed to pull Damo out of the pack when Murdoink, Rockey316 & Sekktor triple-teamed the new threat! Their alliance was split when Shinnokxz and fresh #29 mwgrant0 pulled Rockey316 out of the pack! mwgrant0 was entering with his partner Unknown265 on the injured list -- an inversion of 265's solo appearance in last year's Battle Royal!

The mood changed one more time as United: Artanix made his presence known as an intimidating fresh and final entrant into the match! Sekktor greeted The United fighter, who peeled straight into a hard shot against Shinnokxz! Murdoink clocked Rockey316 at the same time, with the domino effect seeing Shinnokxz switch his momentum into a stunning Hall of Fame elimination!

The final blitz began with Artanix looking like the favourite thanks to his team-up with Murdoink! While The United hacked away at the remaining peloton; a rapidfire round of eliminations came from nightbreed_16, Damo, G0LD, and NovaStarr! The match devolved into chaos with no one fighter daring to stay still! Chromatose found himself caught in a maelstrom of blows from Damo, Sekktor, and nightbreed_16! All of a sudden - NovaStarr was eliminated by Sekktor! Chromatose got his footing and started attacking Murdoink! Artanix swooped in to help his teammate - eliminating Chromatose in the process!

Artanix & Murdoink set their sights on a two-man assault of nightbreed_16 and a final United front for victory! Seeing the danger: Damo jumped Murdoink to turn the tables! nightbreed_16 wailed away on Murdoink while Damo occupied Artanix! Then in a shocking 1-2 combination Damo eliminated both Murdoink and nightbreed_16! The electrifying eliminations set up a scintillating final four: Sekktor (#9), G0LD (#25), Artanix (#30) and Damo (#28)!

All eyes were on Damo as anticipation filled the air! The Chosen One made the first move - G0LD the nearest target! Sekktor tried to use the distraction to his advantage, but Damo was too fresh for the #9 entrant! He dominated Sekktor, ending The Fallen fighter's outstanding run at the 50 minute mark! G0LD jumped back in, but the exciting find of 2016 couldn't achieve the impossible in his UGP debut - eliminated an impressive 28th!

Artanix had left the other two fighters to try to wear Damo down. Now there was only freshest and most promising prospects left! Artanix charged at Damo and delivered a hard shot, but The Chosen One turned them around and struck two knock-out blows! With Artanix reeling, Damo moved around working the jabs before hitting another devastating haymaker! You could feel it coming in the air, but Artanix would not die. He kept getting back up! Again and again! Seconds felt like minutes, but the end came fast and unavoidably. "The Chosen One" Damo had guaranteed victory in the 7th Annual UGP Battle Royal -- and he achieved it! An amazing finish to start UGP off with a bang!
