MMAF: GRAND KUMITE VIII

HISTORY
- MMAF Grand Kumite
When Michael Lucifer's brother Abel emerged from exile, he felt
a sudden urgency to bring about their necessary final battle.
Trying to create the appropriate atmosphere for their tradition
born fight, Michael Lucifer would announce the very first MMAF:
Grand Kumite
. Although an open invitation tournament, Lucifer's
true intentions were to lure his brother in. The winner of the
tournament would face Michael Lucifer himself, and not only win
great recognition as an awesome fighter, but a position in the
Lucifer empire as well... Shawn Michaels would go on to win the
tournament, and eventually replace Lucifer as CEO of ICWW.
- MMAF Grand Kumite II
Shawn Michaels becomes a targeted man as the second kumite
is surprisingly announced. After enjoying a relatively smooth
run in the initial tournament
Both Abel and Michael Lucifer enter, knowing that their time of
final battle would come before the tournament. Each shared the
same goals - to reclaim total control.
The Rock would overcome Rockey Rakesh and Tony McTier in
the final round, earning him a shot against Shawn Michaels.
Michaels would make MMAF history by becoming the first reigning
MMAF: Grand Kumite champion.

- MMAF Grand Kumite VII
With the four champions; Shawn Michaels, Statix, The Nomad and
Steven Oozaru all
entered in the one tournament, it almost
comes as no surprise that this, the seventh Grand Kumite, would
also be whispered in legend, forevermore known as the
unfinished Kumite
. The potential winner would be debated
for months on, but an answer would not be presented... until now!

ICWW: Civil Action (Jun 1, 2004)

Episode #44
Trans World Dome, St. Louis

Buddy Luv and Stat-Man recapped the events unfolding on Aftershock, as Civil Action kicked off from St. Louis! Buddy Luv recapping Daemon X' promise to see Jason Shamrock on Civil Action. He announced that Violent J had taken the initiative, and booked them in the night's headliner. Stat-Man questioned Daemon X' interest in Shamrock, wondering if he was recruiting superstars with potential for a new breed of Four Horsemen.

In a room somewhere in the backstage area of the arena, Albert Beefcake and the Hurricane were in a poorly lit room. Sitting in the middle of the room under the light was Marc Scott. Albo grilled Scott on what he was doing last week on Civil Action, and where he was at the time of the poisoning. Albo slammed a phone book in front of Scott, and demanded answers. Scott told him he didn't know anything, and asked why he wasn't talking to Daemon X. Albert stood up silently, before telling Scott he could go.

Amazing Red versus The Godfather
The Godfather was in-ring against the giant killing red tornado, Amazing Red, for the night's opener. Amazing Red played keep-away with the Godfather, avoiding his grappling attempts, before going on the offensive with a flying head scissors. The zenlightened Godfather struck back, taking Red hard with a powerful powerslam. Red showed tremendous tenacity, fighting back against the sheer physical dominance of the Godfather. In true Amazing Red style, the red tornado driver saw him drag victory from the jaws of defeat.
Winner: Amazing Red via pin fall [6:19]

In the locker rooms, Michael Lucifer was with Daemon X. Lucifer told Daemon X that he was again having fatigue problems. He said the battle he had with Statix and the Nomad was too intense, costing him his chance in the contender match. Daemon X asked if he thought it could be connected to the poisoned children. Michael Lucifer acknowledged that it could all be related to the mystery CEO's twisted plans. He told his trusted horseman that he was going to have vengeance against the CEO at any cost, even if it meant the end of his career.

Banging versus Statix
It was champion versus champion in light heavyweight action, as X champ Banging took on the world's champion, Statix. Backstage, Marz was watching the match on a monitor, no doubt studying Statix' new style for their title match at Extinction Agenda. Statix and Banging narrowly avoided each other, hitting the ropes and missing striking attacks until Statix managed to connect with a flying kick. Banging struggled to hold off Statix' forward approach, lashing out with stiff right hands and thrust kicks. The masked superstar took the CEO's agent down with a Samoan drop, but survived the cover. Despite several close falls, Statix was an irresistible force, scoring the cover.
Winner: Statix via pin fall [13:37]

Superfly made his way to the ring to zenlighten the audience, taking a microphone. He announced that his efforts to protect Rockey Rakesh had failed, so he was making a final challenge. He challenged Daemon X to produce Rockey Rakesh if he lost his match against Jason Shamrock later in the night. Superfly then turned his sights on the Hurricane and Albert Beefcake, claiming their negligence may have put Rakesh in further danger. He called them out, and challenged them to a match.

The Hurricane versus Superfly
Unable to wrestle due to his recovering burns, Albert Beefcake supported his partner the Hurricane from the back. Superfly fought with the passion of his resolve, battling the super hero into submission with devastating right hands. Superfly took it to the corner, sending Hurricane flying with a monkey toss. Hurricane managed to battle back, connecting with the vertebreaker before nailing a side effect. With both men done, it was Superfly determination that allowed him to connect with the zenlighten driver, and roll Hurricane up for a victory.
Winner: Superfly via pin fall [3:36]

Amazing Red was backstage with Albert Beefcake, fulfilling his interview duties as ICWW's roving reporter. Amazing Red discussed that his victory over Godfather was one of many, and exclaimed his disgust that Marz, the man he defeated in a huge upset, was getting a shot at the International championship. The Red tornado friskily told the Alaskan that if he couldn't have a piece of the world champ, he wanted the next best thing, delivering a challenge to the Nomad for Extinction Agenda. Albert asked Amazing Red what his motive was, and he said that he was going to prove that he could beat anyone, no matter their size.

Hulk Hogan versus The Nomad
The Nomad was under the microscope as he battled on against the mystery CEO's right hand man, Hulk Hogan. The Hulkster was running wild, taking it to the agent with big right hands. Nomad was able to counter the attack, blocking the assault and countering with his own right hands. Busted open, Hogan struggled to shake off the punches, blocking them before nailing Nomad with the big boot! With Nomad down, Hogan managed to connect with the leg drop, but Nomad still kicked out! Kicking him down, Hogan hit a second leg drop for the cover.
Winner: Hulk Hogan via pin fall [3:48]

In the offices, the Y2Juggalo was watching the action on a monitor. He told Marc Scott that that was the kind of match he should be putting on, instead of a match where he would be distracted by the referee. J asked Scott how Albert's questioning was going, and Scott told him he was following leads. Violent J told his help that the mystery CEO had been riding him about the poisoned children, despite the fact it filled seats for the Extinction Agenda main event. Violent J let out a laugh, and told Scott that he wanted the case solved, and solved quickly!

Jason Shamrock versus Daemon X
The arena went cold as Jason Shamrock headed to the ring to face the occult Daemon X, whose terror seemed to be stretching across ICWW. Chants filled the arena, as the lights went dark with Shamrock inside. Daemon X appeared behind him as the lights came back on, going straight on the attack with a bulldog takedown. Shamrock swung wildly with rights and lefts, missing clearly. Shamrock grappled with his opponent, looking to out wrestle him, but Daemon X' own technical skills were not to be messed with. Dropping his opponent with a brainbuster, DX continued the assault, going off the top with a moonsault. Shamrock dug deep to battle out of the cover, and hit Daemon X with everything he had, finishing with a big belly to belly suplex. Daemon X struggled as Shamrock clamped down the ankle lock in the middle of the ring. Howling in pain, Daemon X was forced to tap out!
Winner: Jason Shamrock via submission [7:32]

With the match over, Banging raced down to the ring, assisting Daemon X in beating down on Jason Shamrock. With Shamrock down, Daemon X appeared to order his minion to stand over the fallen hardcore champion. Banging appeared reluctant to do so, before finally being pushed to do it. Daemon X began speaking in tongues as the lights went out, before a lightning bolt came crashing down, and struck Daemon! The occult superstar fell out of the ring, racing up the aisle in the darkness with blue flames leaping off his body as Aftershock came to an end!

Special mention:
The Red tornado demands a chance to prove that size doesn't matter!
