Every event in The Great Arena is always "Subject To Change", but it's under the most unfortunate circumstances that Duo Division Championship challengers Ratt & NightHawk have announced their withdrawal from tomorrow's hotly anticipated Supercard bout!
The difficult decision was made in light of recent beatings NightHawk suffered in a conceited campaign to undermine the challengers. "American Dream" LordSkarlet was used to inflict +16 damage on NightHawk on September 26th, luring he and Ratt into a duo bout at Pre-Show 84: A Lovely Tea Party that went horribly wrong -- ending in an additional +7 impact!
Ratt feels it would be irresponsible to risk his friend against such high caliber opponents, and agreed to withdraw their challenge for the time being. That won't stop Ratt seeking a little retribution on his own, though! The Invasion's new recruit LordSkarlet will answer for the pain he inflicted in a one-on-one grudge match with the Hall of Famer! It isn't the only last minute match the card will gain, either!
Violent`J has assured officials that he will organize a suitable last minute replacement for the Duo Division Championship match, ensuring the titles will be defended!
As further insurance that the Duo Division titles will be adequately contested, league officials have also announced a three-way contenders match between "The New Generation" Baraka_MK & Onryo, TonyTheTiger & CaTigeReptile and "The United" Shoe & Artanix!
That's three blockbuster new matches arranged for tomorrow's Supercard 84: Return to the Dark Carnival -- the first of two Supercards in a packed October double-season!
Ratt & NightHawk earned their promising title rematch at Supercard 83: Night of Champions V, where they defeated stalling #1 Contenders: "The Invasion" DaemonX & Banging. It had turned out that the Tournament 74: Grand Slam [Doubles] winners were helping teammate Violent`J pad out his record setting Duo Division Championship reign by avoiding title contests. Ratt & NightHawk were to break the deadlock this weekend, but alas, VJ's conspiracy to undermine the challengers has paid off. Supercard 84 marks the 350th day of the Team Xtreme title reign! In two weeks they will achieve the unprecedented act of remaining undefeated for a full calendar year -- assuming, of course, they can survive The Dark Carnival!
