UGP Championship Preview: Kron vs DECEPTION

Like Christmas, it comes but once a year! Ultimate Grand Prix VI is almost upon us!

UGP Season officially begins with the coming of the new year, etching one name into the annual main event with January's 40-fighter Battle Royale! In 2016, it was Hall of Famer Kron who fought his way through 39 other fighters to earn the right to challenge in the main event of the year's biggest Supercard!

Defending the Undisputed Championship will be "The Hitman" DECEPTION, who also returned to competition in 2016 during Battle Royale. His fight brought him to Tower of Power XV, where he impressed everyone with a 5 match win streak that delivered him to a title victory at Supercard 76! For DECEPTION, his UGP moment came early - now his challenge is to keep it!

These two fighters have met once before at UGP, where DECEPTION defied the odds to successfully defend the Duo Division Championship with Baraka_MK against Kron & Porygonix! Will "The Hitman" take down the odds once again, defending his title against one of the league's most powerful Hall of Famers -- or will it be Kron who adds another UGP title win to his growing list of accolades? Here's how the two fighters match-up:

Annual UGP Battle Royal Announcement

Throughout Ultimate Grand Prix history the UGP Battle Royal has been a special accolade reserved for fighters willing to go the distance against overwhelming odds! The Battle Royal has become an annual tradition, challenging combatants and delighting onlookers with its feats of endurance, luck and skill! Like January's Battle Royale, the match sees fighters enter at regular intervals of 90s seconds in random order. Who will be guaranteed entry in 2016?

"The Redeemer" LordSkarlet stunned everyone when he fought his way through Battle Royale 2016 to become the surprise runner-up! The struggle since his moment of glory has seen him suffer an equally shocking 0-8 losing streak! LordSkarlet will be seeking ultimate redemption through the same match type that delivered him one of his greatest career moments!

United: Hokey entered 2016 as the Undisputed Champion, but lost the gold in his very first title defense at Supercard 74. The nightmare event led to the installation of new management that has chosen the UGP Battle Royal for Hokey's path back to the top of the league!

"The Predator" TonyTheTiger has been a stalwart of competition, constantly stalking his prey from the obscuring outskirts of the competitive jungle. A constant dark horse among the competitive ranks, who could better capitalize on the conditions of UGP Battle Royal than TTT?

NovaStarr is one of the all-stars of the UGP Battle Royal! She made her Ultimate Grand Prix debut at UGP4, stunning everyone in attendance when she claimed the first fifteen consecutive eliminations - ending the event with a record total twenty-three eliminations! The former Division 2 Champion will attempt to recapture her glory with another bold performance in 2016!

NightHawk has fought against overwhelming odds all year! He helped Ratt defeated Crow & Pink_Ranger at Supercard 76 after months of being ambushed in 2-on-1 assaults, only to succumb to his injuries after the match! He battled back to the active list and now fights for himself and a shot at personal glory!

UGP: m0s & Knickxasawrrrr Issue Bitter Challenge!

It's a hatred that's been brewing for a full year - whether they knew it, or not!

m0s was flying high at the start of 2015 as the Head Booker in charge of the KFL sub-league. His grip on power slipped in April, after he was persuaded to send Baraka_MK to his demise in a bid for the KFL Championship. m0s relinquished his position in April and re-entered the competition to fight a Champion King he'd accidentally created. Instead, he found himself in a war he ultimately lost!

Without power and facing exile, m0s made a deal with the devil - believing it to be a parting strike at the heart of his enemy. He never realized ElJobber [as Mick-Lucifer] was manipulating the sub-league in an effort to circumvent his forced retirement at Ultimate Grand Prix V!

His Corrupt enforcers Baraka_MK & Onryo had already preceded him. ElJobber made his return to the KFL during the June 5th Friday Night Fights. On June 19, ElJobber broke from his pact with m0s, turning on the team he was supposed to aid by annihilating UlcaTron! UlcaTron returned on July 3rd - a Corrupt soul operating as part of Lucifer's Ladder!

Though ElJobber was seemingly thwarted in m0s' absence by redman, a plot to destroy the KFL was already successful. When m0s & Knickxasawrrrr returned to fight their many enemies, the league was already on a collision course with Armageddon!

The Kombat Fight League was no more, and m0s had won his second year-end Master's Series crown. With a new year of competition starting and bigger goals of contention, old grudges hardly seemed worth the time. Even so, the memory remained - and the seed of hate continued to grow!

Having been brought back to the main league to answer a challenge by DECEPTION at the 2015 All-Star Summer Showdown; ElJobber found new glory in the wake of the KFL's destruction in December, when he defeated Knickxasawrrrr in the final of Tournament 63: 2016 Grand Slam Launch. Another slap in the face! Knickxasawrrrr took his aggressions out on ElJobber's partner Mime at Pre-Show 74, while m0s took care of KFL nemesis LordSkarlet.

At Supercard 74: ElJobber became the new Undisputed Champion, while m0s tried to fight his way to the UGP main event with 10 eliminations in the annual Battle Royale match! In the lead up to Supercard 75. Knickxasawrrrr continued to battle Mime [2/19/2016], while m0s was named #1 contender for Tower of Power XV, only to once again missed his opportunity to strike at the man he blamed for eroding his power and destroying his legacy!

Knickxasawrrrr inadvertently ignited the powder keg with his feud with Mime, and a declaration of intent to free UlcaTron from his months of Corruption! He fought UlcaTron [2/26/2016], Corrupt MINION [3/4/2016], UlcaTron & hydraslash with m0s [Pre-Show 76], UlcaTron & hydraslash 2-on-1 [3/11/2016], Mime [Supercard 76], Mime [Tournament 64] and finally ElJobber himself [3/26/2016]!

Knickxasawrrrr's impromptu Friday Night Fights challenge was to fight for UlcaTron's soul, but the saga goes much deeper than that! With Ultimate Grand Prix VI on the horizon - the story inevitably must lead to a bitter confrontation between two sets of powers! m0s & Knickxasawrrrr want more than the restoration of their friend and ally -- they want revenge against "The Unholy Alliance" ElJobber & Mime on the grandest stage of them all!

It will be the culmination of a saga that has shaped the very course of competition! Another dramatic main event soaked in bitter rivalry and personal hatred! A collision almost a year in the making - destined to go down at Ultimate Grand Prix VI -- this weekend, April 3rd!

Supercard 77: Ultimate Grand Prix VI (April 3rd, 2016):
- Kron versus "The Hitman" DECEPTION (c) [Undisputed Championship]
- Crow versus Ratt [Iron Man Death Match]
- Mimik versus VenoMark [Steel Cage Fight]
- m0s & Knickxasawrrrr versus "The Unholy Alliance" ElJobber & Mime

Monday Night Invasion (March 28, 2016)

The final Monday Night Invasion before Ultimate Grand Prix VI came pregnant with possibility, but nobody could've anticipated the radical changes that would completely reshape the April 3rd Supercard! Surprise returns, new alliances, a Hall of Fame grudge match, and two fresh match-ups for the annual spectacular!

The seismic shifts started from minute one! The_Rock found himself in the striking line of a spontaneous Statix shock! Statix hadn't been seen for over a month: last appearing during the February 19th edition of Friday Night Fights, which saw Banging's Hall of Fame partner Oozaru refuse to help mend the shock split of The New Pacific Connection [2/5/2016]! Statix had seemingly left disillusioned by Banging's turn to The Invasion, and Oozaru's refusal to help. It was therefore no coincidence that the same Monday would see the return of Oozaru!

Oozaru's change of heart was clearly fuelled by the emergence of PaganFreak as an overmatched challenger to The Invasion's whims! He helped his unlikely former ICWW Tag Team Champion partner to a big win over "Catch-22" Ironize & AcidicWonder! It was a victory that opened the hearts of ICWW alum AlbertBeefcake & The_Hurricane, who had become weary after they experienced their own betrayal at the hands of Shen_DuHBK, Jason_Voorhees & edge [2/12/2016]! They finally welcomed Alliance pledge Jauger, as well as Oozaru & PaganFreak into the fold to set up a massive 5-on-5 Survivor Sequence match for Ultimate Grand Prix VI!

Oozaru may not be willing to interfere in the path of his former partner Banging, but he certainly won't stop Statix doing it, either! The return sets up a history making grudge match for Ultimate Grand Prix VI, which will see the KFL Championship lineage defended at UGP for the very first time!

In other developments, ShawnMichaels allowed himself to get distracted from his UGP feud with The United, challenging instead Hall of Famer Mimik to a main event showdown! What was supposed to be payback for Mimik's punishing return last week turned into another indignity for ShawnMichaels. Mimik only has eyes for VenoMark, who he'll face at UGP in a Steel Cage!

Monday Night Invasion: Week 5 (March 28, 2016):
8. Mimik d. ShawnMichaels [+1]
7. "The Alliance" AlbertBeefcake & The_Hurricane d. Shen_DuHBK & edge [+1]
6. TripleH d. RomanK [+1]
5. Oozaru & PaganFreak d. Ironize & AcidicWonder [+3]
4. Jauger d. Jesseman [+2]
3. __-Standards-__ d. Jason_Voorhees [+1]
2. MattHardy & Ghrimm d. Jericho & Zengeance [+1]
1. Statix d. The_Rock [+1]

The Invasion of Ultimate Grand Prix VI will be fought across three big matches! There'll be more than pride on the line when Statix attempts to take their gold from Banging! It'll be ultimate payback when The Alliance go 5-on-5 in a battle of survival with traitors Shen_DuHBK, Jason_Voorhees, edge and Catch-22! PLUS: The United's mysterious new management will finally be revealed when The Invasion elite ShawnMichaels, DaemonX & The_Rock try to even the score against Shoe, Artanix and their new leader!

Supercard 77: Ultimate Grand Prix VI (April 3rd, 2016):
- Kron versus "The Hitman" DECEPTION (c) [Undisputed Championship]
- Crow versus Ratt [Iron Man Death Match]
- Mimik versus VenoMark [Steel Cage Fight]

- "Lucifer's Ladder" Corrupt UlcaTron & Corrupt hydraslash versus "Guardians of the Crow" Pink_Ranger & Ghostdragon

Weekly Rankings Recap - 3/27/2016

The rush toward Ultimate Grand Prix VI is having intriguing effects on the rankings as some competitors save themselves for the annual spectacular, and others fight for their placement!

The big winners of this week were obviously fighters competing in the Duo Division. The 2016 Grand Prix Show Tournament not only created new title challengers in CCShadow & Scott-Howell, but also drastically elevated over achieving Semi Finalists: "Lucifer's Ladder" Corrupt UlcaTron & Corrupt hydraslash and McDaniel & fraysol!

The developments pushed reigning Duo Division Champions Marz & Violent`J to the bottom of the Duo Division ranks -- an inevitable symptom of a team largely competing exclusive to major events. The Hall of Fame combo have now reigned undefeated for 155 days, surpassing the once record topping run of All-Star team-up: Ratt & Kron! Their single reign makes them the fourth longest title holders.

Three-time Duo Champions "Guardians of the Crow" Pink_Ranger & Ghostdragon have shot to the second spot on the 2-fighter ranks, and could very well be making a case for a shot at the champs sometime soon. It won't be a four-way at UGP6, though. After their Tournament 65 loss, UlcaTron & hydraslash have set up a grudge bout against the T65 Runners-Up! That's a fresh bout announced right here in the Weekly Rankings Recap! Scroll past the rankings to get an updated UGP6 card, and stay tuned for Monday Night Invasion for new developments!

Pre-Show 77: Grand Prix Show

In the tradition of the very first Grand Prix Show, Pre-Show 77 was to be the stage for a massive one night event in Tournament 65! An eclectic mix of thirty-two teams assembled for the chance to shine one week before The Great Arena showcase of Ultimate Grand Prix VI!

For some teams, it was a long awaited opportunity, while others came together for the first time! Unknown265 & Menas forged an unlikely tournament alliance -- both of them missing their usual partners, mwgrant0 and Politics, respectively. Jauger & PaganFreak found a common goal in a tournament union as well, both hoping to join The Alliance in their fight against The Invasion - which they did in a First Round victory over MattHardy & Ghrimm! It was bad news all around for The Invasion, with Jericho & Zengeance going down to the break-out combination of McDaniel & fraysol! Their months of hard work appeared to pay off as they stunned everyone by fighting deep into the Semi Finals!

Slightly less surprising, but no less impressive - The Corrupt duo of UlcaTron & hydraslash proved they don't need saving when it comes to fights. Their Semi Final berth ended in a comprehensive loss to 3-time Duo Champions Pink_Ranger & Ghostdragon in a clash of factions! The Corrupt seemed to take their loss to Guardians of The Crow pretty personally. An echo of animosity between their respective leaders?

When it came down to the Grand Finale, it was a fitting meeting between two of the greatest Duo Division rivals of all time! Reprising the grudge bout from Ultimate Grand Prix V: CCShadow & Scott-Howell stepped up their game, using their history to reverse the fortunes of Pink_Ranger & Ghostdragon! CCShadow & Scott-Howell comfortable in their victory over the 2016 Grand Prix Show tournament -- which also secure their very first tournament title in a long career as a combo!

Riding the high; CCShadow & Scott-Howell bet their tournament victory against the house and came up trumps! They'll be inserted into the Duo Division Championship match at next week's Ultimate Grand Prix VI! There, they'll face the challenge of top contenders "The New Generation" Baraka_MK & Onryo and the dominant Hall of Fame Champions: Marz & Violent`J!

UGP: Crow vs Ratt - Deadly Finale!

At Supercard 76: Ratt in a Cage, they introduced the league to a new level of brutality via the first ever Steel Cage Fight! It was a construct designed to keep interference out, and competitors in - but it quickly became an instrument of torture for two bitter enemies! Though Crow was the far worse off from the grudge bout, even Ratt was forced into obscurity in the weeks following, missing the 2016 Grand Prix Warm-Up while recovering from his violent victory!

After months of warring, it seemed silence would finally fall upon one of the most vitriolic feuds in recent memory -- but the silence has been broken with one final escalation!

It began with Ratt's induction into the Hall of Fame late last year, but the hatred between these two legendary fighters is beyond any single incident. They are two cosmic forces, incapable of occupying the same space without threatening all around them! The Great Arena is not big enough for both of them and that's why Crow has issued the only challenge remaining: A fight to the finish where only one will survive - an Iron Man Death Match at Supercard 77: Ultimate Grand Prix VI!

It's a bold challenge considering Ratt's impeccable Hall of Fame history at UGP -- the very event where he helped originate the Iron Man Death Match! Given neither is fighting at peak fitness after months of blood feuding, it's hard to tell if Crow is driven by madness or strategic brilliance!

What ever the case - Ultimate Grand Prix VI will be the benefactor of a lethal legacy!

The History of Ratt at Ultimate Grand Prix:

Friday Night Fights (March 25, 2016)

After a week off for the 2016 Grand Prix Warm-Up, Friday Night Fights came back strong with UGP tensions fuelling a blockbuster event! The challenges were issued from the very first match! "The Greek Crisis" maxilos & proXade took their world fight to Mexico this week, before issuing a massive challenge for UGP against King Ken! They say the world has turned their back on Greece and that means their ultimate fight is with the King of the World tournament winner - Ken!

The big one saw "The New Generation" Baraka_MK & Onryo turn the tables on their Pre-Show 76 opponents: Jerrod & Corrupt MINION! The win back against their Corrupt brethren sets them up for a Duo Division Championship match on the biggest stage of the mall! It's a bout they were supposed to take at Ultimate Grand Prix V, before BMK was taken out of action, setting into motion the sequence of events that made them The Corrupt Generation! It'll be the ultimate test for the fan favourite duo - "Team Xtreme" Marz & Violent`J undefeated in 8 title bouts!

The Invasion were back on Friday Night Fights with their own axes to grind in the wake of Supercard 76 and Tournament 64 defeats. ShawnMichaels & DaemonX unsuccessful in their attempt to score a win back against "The United" Shoe & Artanix. The latest loss of face to The United led The Invasion leaders to issue another UGP challenge: A battle of trios calling out the mysterious new management behind The United!

In the main event, ElJobber showed up to issue a rematch challenge against Undisputed Champion DECEPTION -- only to be confronted by Knickxasawrrrr, instead! The former champ dominated the interloper, but inflicted minimum damage. Knickxasawrrrr has been on a path to try to bring Corrupt UlcaTron back from the dark side, feuding with Mime -- ElJobber's accomplice in the corruption and destruction of the Kombat Fight League. The struggle continues!

Grudges also spilling out of Tournament 64 also saw MKR, SubScorpTile, Nephrite, Jironobou and Loopster all defending challenges from rivals!

UGP: Damo Officially Challenges TPB!

It started back in January - a conspiracy of two halves. When Damo was rechristened "The Chosen One" and gifted a sure-thing in Pre-Show qualifying for Battle Royale, suspicions were raised. Then The_Purple_Bunny revealed he had a secret, and it all came out when the 2015 Runner-Up showed up in cahoots with Damo as the newly recruited special enforcer of The Service Krew [1/22/2016]! Or so it seemed...

Damo thought he had the perfect insurance policy to guarantee a 2016 Battle Royale win and the main event Undisputed Championship match for Ultimate Grand Prix VI. Little did he realize, it was the other way around: The_Purple_Bunny was merely playing along to give himself back-up in the gruelling forty-man match!

It didn't work out for either man, TPB revealing himself early in the match during a multi-man assault on "The Chosen One". Furious, Damo challenged TPB to a grudge match at Pre-Show 75: Fatal Attractions -- but The_Purple_Bunny escaped reprisal, sneaking out a win.

Now the ultimate stage is set! The_Purple_Bunny can make no new plans, devise no new strategies! Under the spotlight of the biggest event on The Great Arena calendar, "The Chosen One" Damo gets his shot at ultimate revenge in another blockbuster grudge match for Ultimate Grand Prix VI!

Pre-Show 77: Grand Prix Show (March 27th, 2016):

ElJobber's Fury - FNF Rematch Challenge!

Supercard 76: Ratt in a Cage played host to several blockbuster encounters, but no moment will be as well remember as the stunning rise of "The Hitman" DECEPTION!

His UGP dream came true a month early when he won his first ever Undisputed Championship in the feel good moment of the year! The dream could be short-lived if ElJobber has anything to say about it, though! The former champion has issued a Championship rematch challenge for this week's Friday Night Fights!

The March 25th grudge bout will likely be the final opportunity for either man to factor in to the main event of Supercard 77: Ultimate Grand Prix VI, where 2016 Battle Royale winner Kron will challenge for the title in the main event spectacular! For ElJobber, it will be a quest not only to be the Undisputed Champion, but also avenge the loss he suffered at Kron's hand last year, which almost cost him his career!

Be here for all the results from Friday Night Fights as we count down the final weeks before UGP!

UGP: Mimik's Chilling Vision for VenoMark

He came without warning during yesterday's Monday Night Invasion, on a self-propelled collision course with VenoMark. With a brutal victory fresh to his name, Mimik is ready to share his chilling vision for VenoMark at the 2016 arena spectacular - Ultimate Grand Prix VI!

The Hall of Famer explained: "I have had a vision of steel and pain, blood and suffering! At Supercard 72, I witnessed two men mutually brutalizing each other and I knew this was the way to finish it once and for all! Inside the Steel Cage, there will be a level of unpredictability and violence that could very well leave both of us damaged and broken! If that is the price to pay - so be it.  You took from me, so I will take from you! There will be nowhere to run. Nowhere to hide! Win, lose, or draw -- I will hurt you, VenoMark!"

Mimik has held a grudge ever since VenoMark eliminated him from the 2015 Royal Roulette match -- a victory used to insert VenoMark into the Undisputed Championship match at Supercard 72 at the expense of Mimik! The ensuing months produced a string of hard fought grudge bouts that will culminate in the Steel Cage Fight!

Supercard 77: Ultimate Grand Prix VI (April 3rd, 2016):
- Kron versus "The Hitman" DECEPTION (c) [Undisputed Championship]
- Mimik versus VenoMark [Steel Cage Fight]

Monday Night Invasion (March 21, 2016)

After a week-off for the 2016 Grand Prix Warm-Up: Monday Night Invasion kicked off with the winning return of "The Rocket" MKR & blacksaibot! The latter had re-emerged from a year-long exile at Supercard 76 - the mystery trios partner for VenoMark.

Having fallen short at the major; VenoMark thought he could finally get a 1-on-1 match with chief antagonist ShawnMichaels in the Monday main event. Alas; once again he fell victim to a numbers game, not from The Invasion, but rather a returning Mimik! The Hall of Famer turned the match into a three-way affair, scoring a dominant win! He gave no explanation, but it would seem he still has an axe to grind against VenoMark - their rivalry dating back to November, when VenoMark bumped Mimik out of the Supercard 72 championship match with his Royal Roulette opportunity!

In other battles: "The United" Shoe & Artanix took down The Invasion's best in a dominant victory over DaemonX & Banging! The win follows up their Supercard 76 three-way victory, which left some conspiracy theorists wondering about the legitimacy of their stance against The Invasion!

Rhyno & Grayback also came up short in a grudge match against Jason_Voorhees & edge. It was edge who eliminated Grayback from the Second Round of Tournament 64. It's a dent in Rhyno & Grayback's status as a team, while Jason_Voorhees seems to go from strength to strength! As ShawnMichaels explained on the inaugural Monday Night Invasion: The Invasion are not afraid to fight amongst themselves! United in spirit, but not necessarily purpose.

Monday Night Invasion: Week 4 (March 21, 2016)
8. Mimik d. ShawnMichaels & VenoMark [+27/-25/-2]
7. "The United" Shoe & Artanix d. DaemonX & Banging [+3]
6. Jason_Voorhees & edge d. Rhyno & Grayback [+1]

Weekly Rankings Recap - 3/20/2016

A week of Tournament 64: Grand Prix Warm-Up 2016 action shook the league ranks up, sending the cream frothing to the top! For the first time in quite a while the three solo champions are all ranking the Top 10, thanks in no small part to the meteoric rise of "The Hitman" DECEPTION since his return at Battle Royale! Contesting a tournament with 127 other fighters is always a risk for an Undisputed Champion, but DECEPTION played the perfect game, joining an elite few Grand Slam Tournament winners who earned their crown as reigning champ!

The Alliance powerhouse AlbertBeefcake proved to be the surprise package of Tournament 64, under the radar right until his face-off with the champ. KFL Champion Banging and Division 2 Champion Benjamin may have dropped 1 rank for AlbertBeefcake's entry, but they too put in perfectly credible performances as the second tier champions! Ghostdragon, Jammer2Omega and DaemonX all parlayed strong performances to raise their stock considerably in the Division 2 ranks, as well.

United: Shoe was able to turn his defeat of the Division 2 Champion into a Semi Final berth and a major boost in the Top 10 rankings. Bolstered by a strong Duo Division pedigree, Shoe's stock seems to be coming to the fore right when it counts! No such luck for teammate United: Hokey, who also contested the Semi Final, but didn't have a strong enough start to the year to hit the top.

Supercard 75 #1 contender m0s was well primed to capitalize on his modest run to re-enter the Top 10. He remains a lingering threat to the Undisputed Championship, having missed the opportunity to take advantage of his status in February. There's blood on his hands, though. A week without Duo Division competition didn't stop major Duo news coming out of T64 -- m0s responsible for ending the run of Politics & Menas with a -1up defeat of Politics!

Tournament 64: Grand Prix Warm-Up - Finals

An air of unpredictability permeated The Great Arena as the Semi Finalists entered one last time. The 2016 Grand Prix Warm-Up had seen a field of 128 whittled down to just four, each with a convincing case that he could beat the others. Granted, they were not all created equal as challengers. Two with tournament and championship pedigrees. Two with storied careers, but no such glory to their name.

One finalist stood above the rest: "The Hitman" DECEPTION - reigning Undisputed Champion who was unable to compete in the Grand Slam Launch, and made the controversial decision to prepare for his Ultimate Grand Prix championship defense with the trial of Tournament 64! Some thought the risk too great, with Hall of Famer Kron waiting on the other side, but The Hitman dared to test himself - and silenced all critics in the process!

While DECEPTION was undeniable in his Semi Final battle with United: Shoe, Shoe's teammate Hokey had a much greater sting of hope. The Invasion AlbertBeefcake managed to wrestle victory from the jaws of defeat, making it the bitter end of a double elimination for The United.

AlbertBeefcake emerged as the great unknown for "The Hitman", but the Undisputed Champion was cool and classy under pressure. DECEPTION obliterated any doubts about his calibre as champion, absolutely dominating AlbertBeefcake in a strong final battle! He was comprehensive in his result, echoing the finish to the Grand Slam Launch Final with a +3 impact! Not even the defeated Shoe could question the result, or regard it with any disdain.

The Grand Slam Tournament victory is just another feather in the return cap for "The Hitman" DECEPTION! His UGP dream seems to have come a month early after dominating Tower of Power XV, and claiming gold at Supercard 76. His next test will be keeping the Undisputed Championship in the main event of the biggest spectacular of the calendar year! Ultimate Grand Prix VI takes place April 3rd, when he'll be forced to answer the challenge of Hall of Fame Battle Royale 2016 winner and 4-time Undisputed Champion Kron! Will he add this accolade to his growing list? One thing's for sure -- he'll have the support of the fans one way or the other!

Tournament 64: Grand Prix Warm-Up - Quarters

The Tournament 64 Quarter Finals were laden with gold thanks to three reigning champions vying for the coveted added accolade of a Grand Slam title! A rare moment in a UGP Season that's already made a lot of history!

Ironically, it was the meeting of two beltless former Undisputed Champions that set up the match of the round. ElJobber had succeeded in taking the title from Hokey during January's Battle Royale, riding high off the back of his Tournament 63: Grand Slam Launch victory! The opportunity for payback too sweet for Hokey, who managed to wrestle out a win in a hard fought battle! It brings Hokey one step closer to a restorative face-off with arch-rival DECEPTION -- something that will surely please The United's new management!

Reigning Undisputed Champion DECEPTION was on point in his non-title encounter with reigning KFL Champion Banging! The champ once again validated his decision to compete in the Grand Prix Warm-Up ahead of his Ultimate Grand Prix title defense against Battle Royale winner Kron! The Invasion's golden recruit crumbled under the awesome assault of the league's top dog!

In an intriguing Quarter Final rematch from Tournament 63: United: Shoe managed to rewrite history, reversing his Grand Slam Launch fortunes with a contested victory over current Division 2 Champion Benjamin! It was a much closer encounter than their January affair, which Benjamin took out with a +4 impact. The switch provides The United a rare opportunity to send two fighters to the Semi Finals, setting up a possible all United final battle! Getting past "The Hitman" will be a big ask for Shoe, however. Could the magic of The United's new management get him over the line?

Much more favourable will be the odds of Hokey, who meets The Alliance's AlbertBeefcake in the Semi Finals. The tournament newcomer bested "Silent Assassin" Ghostdragon in a match that left little to chance, but didn't spell Grand Slam Tournament winner. AlbertBeefcake will have his work cut out for him if he's to overcome the veteran tournament experience of the other three finalists!

2. United: Shoe defeated Benjamin in a solid hard fought result. [+1]

Tournament 64: Grand Prix Warm-Up - Round 4

Strangers in the strange land of Round 4 were excised with extreme prejudice as the Tournament 64 finals begin to loom. "Silent Assassin" Ghostdragon made some noise with his ousting of Jironobou, utterly dominant despite leaving only a clean +1 wound. None was more harshly punished than Mark, who found himself on the hurting end of a MAX Damage annihilation deep in the game by ElJobber!

ElJobber's win sets up a grudge match between 2016's two former Undisputed Champions: Hokey clearly benefitting from that mysterious new management. He ended an otherwise solid showing from Porygonix with a solid win.

#1 seed and current Undisputed Champion DECEPTION managed to keep his UGP preparations on track. A blockbuster encounter with "King of the World" Ken proved an electrifying reminder of just how strong Ken has been since his international tournament win! His exit sets up an intriguing clash of champions in the Quarter Finals thanks to The Invasion's KFL Champion Banging taking out m0s in a mild upset!

Division 2 Champion Benjamin and Untied: Shoe will meet up in the Quarter Finals exactly as they did during Tournament 63: Grand Slam Launch! Shoe will be looking to ride his wave of unexpected success during the Grand Prix Warm-Up to avenge his loss in the previous Grand Slam. Benjamin - looking strong, with the gold a new addition to the face-off.

Tournament 64: Grand Prix Warm-Up - Round 3

Round 3 produced two more major upsets in the middle of the brackets as the field thinned from thirty-two to sweet sixteen! 2015 Grand Prix Warm-Up winner CaTigeReptile suffered a shocking loss to a "Guardian" of a different kind - The Alliance's AlbertBeefcake!

No such upset for any of the three reigning champions, though: Undisputed Champion DECEPTION executed his most convincing win of the tournament - totally dominant over Division 2 hopeful Loopster. KFL Champion Banging was comprehensive but less harmful in a solid win over T64 upstart TheMetinPorta. Reigning Division 2 Champion Benjamin shooed away another would-be challenger in a solid win over jack4813.

In two of the matches of the round, old rivalries were revisited. King Ken continued his rise with a very convincing win against old foe Jammer2Omega. Recent nemeses Knickxasawrrrr and Mime came to blows in destined fashion, allowing the Y2K problem to make-up dual triple threat losses to Mime at Supercard 76 and Friday Night Fights!

Former Undisputed Champion ElJobber remains on target to follow-up his Grand Slam Launch title, taking out The Invasion's DaemonX with relative ease. Hokey, m0s and Shoe further emerged as prominent names to watch with solid victories. Murdoink made a minor impact, taking out the undefeated Invasion fighter TripleH!

Tournament 64: Grand Prix Warm-Up - Round 2

The bodies began to hit the floor as Round 2 of Grand Prix Warm-Up 2016 kicked into a higher gear on the road to Ultimate Grand Prix! The gambit of newly crowned Undisputed Champion DECEPTION continued to pay-off with a solid victory over Pink_Ranger. His hopes to better prepare for Battle Royale winner and Hall of Fame UGP challenger Kron hinge on a gamble that could still seriously backfire in his face!

Helping DECEPTION out in R2 is the elimination of #3 seed The_Purple_Bunny at the hands of old rival and competitive dangerman Knickxasawrrrr! TPB's arch-rival and #4 seed "The Chosen One" Damo also emerged as one of the top exits, going out in a less surprising upset to "The Guardian" CaTigeReptile. In DECEPTION's half of the draw: Mime made an impact with a devastating MAX Damage victory over The Invasion's ShawnMichaels! Better luck for reigning KFL Champion Banging and Division 2 Champion Benjamin -- both progressing with comfortable wins. m0s and Shoe also emerged as prominent challengers. King Ken scored another important victory as well, setting up a Round 3 face-off with classic rival Jammer2Omega!

In the bottom half of the bracket, ElJobber continued a strong showing at the expense of avenger45. Fellow ousted Undisputed Champion United: Hokey also made it through in a by the numbers domination. More impressive - The Great Genku remaining on the winner's list with a surprisingly strong win over VenoMark! The friendly tournament rivalry between VM and MKR will likely continue, MKR progressing with a much safer draw.

Disappointments from Round 2 include exits by NightHawkBaraka_MK, "Mad Dog" Onryo, DeathScepter and NovaStarr. The Invasion endured mass casualties, losing ShawnMichaels, AcidicWonder, Jason_Voorhees, Shen_DuHBK, The_Rock and Grayback.

Tournament 64: Grand Prix Warm-Up - Day 2

Day 2 of the Tournament 64: Grand Prix Warm-Up continued a fairly by the numbers run for a Grand Slam Tournament open. A particularly tough draw forced "The Redeemer" LordSkarlet out in a competitive match with United: Hokey. The result keeps LordSkarlet winless in 2016, despite an impressive Runners-Up performance in Battle Royale, and a string of high-level performances. A frustrating predicament for one of the hottest fighters coming out of January!

Former Undisputed Champion ElJobber reconnected with his "Mr. MAX Damage" days, joining TPB on the +30 impact list. One-man Greek Crisis maxilos suffered the devastating defeat -- the only half of the Greek duo participating in the random draw.

proXade was by no means the most notable absence, however - the eligibility of Hall of Famers hardly mattered with most remaining on the sidelines! After their brutal Supercard 76 Steel Cage Fight, Ratt and Crow were understandably focusing on recovery. Dominant Duo Division Champions Marz & Violent`J evidently have their priorities on the gold. ICWW alum Statix has been MIA ever since Oozaru shot down his request to help bring Banging back from The Invasion. "Portuguese Pegasus" Zentile less emotional and just saving himself for UGP.

The Invasion had another good day in the tournament. Their Second Round representation has ballooned to include: ShawnMichaelsDaemonX, AcidicWonder, Jason_Voorhees, Shen_DuHBK, The_Rock, Graybackedge, and TripleH! Both members of The Alliance have progressed, too: AlbertBeefcake joining The_Hurricane with a Day 2 win over UlcaTron.
