Politics Will Fight On for Menas

The rise of Politics & Menas has been one of the feel good stories of 2016, but the dream run that saw them selected as the #10 team at Tower of Power XVI quickly turned into a nightmare...

The 2016 Mid-Year Grand Slam was a chance for the up-and-coming team to get some extra experience under their belts before they used their Supercard 80 performance to launch them to bigger and better team success. Alas; Menas was drawn the unpleasant task of facing five-time Grand Slam Tournament winner The Great Genku in the First Round. The resulting Day 1 defeat enough to put him on the incapacitated list!

It's an unfortunate derailment for the team, who have long been fan favourites in The Great Arena. Politics is taking the setback in his stride, though. While Menas is recovering from his injuries, Politics will continue to fight on to further hone his skills. At the encouragement of League officials, he'll make his first solo appearance during this week's Friday Night Fights - July 1st.

Politics will feature on an already stacked card for the weekly event!

Breaking: Shoe Sidelined in Attack!

A seemingly innocuous attack has ended in brutality today in The Great Arena, placing big name Duo Division star Shoe on the sidelines!

Eye witnesses report an altercation of some kind broke out between Damo and Shoe in the late afternoon, resulting in Shoe's surprising collapse.

Damo and Shoe have been known to butt heads in the off competition hours, sparring frequently without incident. Shoe's status as one of the veterans of The Great Arena makes the brutal result of the altercation all the more shocking! It is not known if something between the two escalated the situation. The United's 2016 management DArqueBishop declined to comment.

A +27 impact from his Third Round match during last week's tournament is being looked at as a possible contributor to Shoe's injury. Damo is currently scheduled to face The_Purple_Bunny in a main event grudge match during this week's Friday Night Fights.

June 2016 is fast turning into one of the bloodiest months on Great Arena record! The incapacitated list gains its fifth addition with the execution of this high profile incident. Reigning Division 2 Champion Poasty was also eliminated from competition earlier this month, just before the 2016 Mid-Year Grand Slam added more names to the list, most notably Menas.

Friday Heats Up With Big Game Challenges

A week's hiatus for Tournament 68: Mid-Year Grand Slam has created a powder keg of anticipation for the return of Friday Night Fights!

Nobody is more eager than "The Chosen One" Damo - who has issued a bitter rematch challenge to the man who unceremoniously eliminated him from the tournament: The_Purple_Bunny! The bad blood between these two goes all the way back to the start of the year, and Damo intends to pay it back in kind in the night's main event!

Damo's apprentice in The Service Krew DeathScepter will also find himself in the spotlight as his incredible Semi Final situation puts him at the forefront of disputed Division 2 Championship talks! Benjamin feels he is still the man to beat to climb the Division 2 mountain and he'll aim to prove it in a match that could have major implications should the title finally be held up in Poasty's absence!

PLUS: Loopster says beating the Undisputed Champion in the Mid-Year Grand Slam makes him the obvious #1 contender -- a fact he backed up during Monday Night Invasion. The Great Genku isn't so convinced, though, and he'll put the screws to Loopster under the heat lamp of Friday Nights!

AND: They fought to a complete stalemate in Round 2 of the Mid-Year Grand Slam - now GohanSon and NosajSamoht will get a chance to settle the score in a Friday Night Fights rematch!

- "The Chosen One" Damo versus The_Purple_Bunny
- Benjamin versus "The Apprentice" DeathScepter
- The Great Genku versus Loopster
- GohanSon versus NosajSamoht

All this, and more competition from the agitated Division 2 ranks! You won't want to miss it!

Monday Night Invasion (June 27, 2016)

The return of Monday Night Invasion after a week's hiatus for Mid-Year Grand Slam came with tournament fall out, pent up aggressions, and an evolution in the war between the allied fighters of The European Union and the exiting Britons now known as The British Invasion!

Europe continued their strong presence on Mondays, but it was "The Fallen" LordSkarlet who was the biggest story on June 27th! Flying high after making the Semi Finals of Tournament 68, he demanded a shot at the KFL Championship. A challenge Alliance fighter Statix happily indulged in the night's main event, where a solid week of competition appeared to catch up with the challenger! The loss left LordSkarlet enraged as he was confronted with the kinds of near misses that led him to fall earlier in the year!

Another fighter taking confidence from his performance in the Grand Slam was Loopster! His shock Round 2 elimination of Undisputed Champion DECEPTION had him declaring himself the next #1 contender. It was a boast European Round 1 crusher Chromatose took exception to - but could not adequately dispute!

"The Greek Crisis" maxilos & proXade adequately disputed their British rivals Liam & nif, though. Taking exception to the unflattering comparison at Supercard 80: Tower of Power XVI, the pair rechristened themselves "European Crisis" in solidarity with their fellows, earning a compelling victory! Sgtf was the only other European Union fighter to earn a win.

A similar change to "British Invasion" came about after DaemonX was seen putting pressure on Brexiter and Invasion figurehead ShawnMichaels. As he has in recent past; DaemonX challenged The Invasion leader on his priorities. He pointed to a disappointing performance by The Invasion in Tournament 68, the growing number of enemies ShawnMichaels has earned them and the fact The Alliance still has control of the KFL Championship. DX warned that if ShawnMichaels doesn't get things under control he will call on their much referenced "Secret Weapon".

Weekly Rankings Recap - 6/26/2016

The entire week may have been dedicated to the competitive exploits of 128 individuals, but the 2016 Mid-Year Grand Slam left a surprising impression on the dormant Duo Division, as well!

Hall of Fame legend Ratt returned to claim the second Grand Slam Tournament of his career, but it was his post-victory speech that dropped the biggest bombshell on an unsuspecting audience! He leveraged the win to place record setting Duo Division Champions Marz & Violent`J on notice - issuing a challenge with NightHawk for August's All-Star Summer Showdown! If they continue to carry the titles through July, that could mean they defend against the only team to ever defeat them in The Great Arena!

The Duo Division was also impacted by the shock Day 1 defeat of Menas! With Politics, he had been one of the bright sparks of the Duo Division, earning four wins at last Sunday's Supercard 80: Tower of Power XVI! A major derailing for a pair who broke deep into the Top 10, last week!

In the major ranks, Tournament 68 had minimal influence. There weren't a lot of shocks in this tournament - an unusually balanced affair, where the favourites had the best of things. Invasion heavyweight Hokey made the most of things, breaking back into the overall Top 10 with his competent Fourth Round exit.

Lone upstart DeathScepter may not have shaken up the rankings, but with his Quarter Final defeat of The_Purple_Bunny, put himself at the forefront of speculation about the now disputed Division 2 Championship! Similarly, Semi Finalist "The Fallen" LordSkarlet made a major case for his contention for the KFL Championship!

Tournament 68: Mid-Year Grand Slam - Finals

The 2016 Mid-Year Grand Slam Quarter Final results had dramatically shifted the tone of Tournament 68. Hall of Fame winners in both halves of the bracket escalated from dangerous threats to outright tournament favourites! Their opponents represented the wildcard nature present in every tournament, and indeed, every one of the four Semi Finalists came to Day 7 to fight!

"The Fallen" LordSkarlet clearly came to the Semi Final to fight! Unintimidated by the legendary status of Ratt, he brought a heavyweight caliber performance that provided the greatest test Ratt had faced the whole tournament! It was a compelling enough match for LS to prove a point, even though Rattamania was simply too strong in the end!

"The Apprentice" DeathScepter seemed like a total longshot in the Semi Final, but he too was out to prove a point! Duo Division dominator Violent`J capitulated in a way he hadn't throughout the tournament, performing sluggishly against one-half of the team he'd shattered one week ago at Supercard 80! The Y2Juggalo's fade-out teased another incredible upset win for DeathScepter, but the Hall of Famer pulled it together just enough to fend off the grudge match assault!

The Semis set up a highly anticipated match between the only two Hall of Famers who came to Tournament 68! Violent`J regrouped before advancing to the final, but Ratt had reserves in store to elevate his game, as well! The resulting match was a complete clash of titans! Their blows thundered throughout The Great Arena as they hammered chunks off each other! The awesome expanse of Rattamania was on full display as the greatest of all time lived up to every inch of that claim! One week after setting a Duo Division Championship record - Violent`J had no choice but to concede!

Remarkably, the 2016 Mid-Year Grand Slam marked only the second time Ratt had won a Grand Slam Tournament crown! His only prior honor was the 2014 Grand Prix Warm-Up, where he beat VJ's partner Marz in the Semi Final! His history with Team Xtreme wasn't lost on the moment as Ratt took advantage of the ceremony to address his opponent.

With The Great Arena watching in awe, Ratt announced that he had just kicked Violent`J's ass in the final -- and he was going to do it all over again at All-Star Summer Showdown with the help of his pal NightHawk! The challenge, leveraging his Tournament 68 win for what could very well be a main event Duo Division Championship match if Team Xtreme can hold onto the gold!

The annual Supercard major happens August 21st, after The Great Arena has played host to the Summer Olympic Games! Ratt & NightHawk are the only team to have ever claimed a victory against 2012 Gold Medalists and record setting Duo Division Champions: "Team Xtreme" Marz & Violent`J! A historic, bombshell end to the 2016 Mid-Year Grand Slam!

Tournament 68: Mid-Year Grand Slam - Quarters

The high standard of Tournament 68 continued into the Quarter Finals, delivering two Hall of Fame competitors to the 2016 Mid-Year Grand Slam championship Sunday!

Ratt devastated the campaign of multiple tournament winner Genku: his path of greatness ended after a string of impressive victories caught up with him against the all-star power of his old enemy! Reigning Duo Division Champion Violent`J also picked up a huge victory in a battle of champions, eliminating KFL Champion and #4 seed Statix in an exciting ICWW throwback!

"The Fallen" LordSkarlet ended the unexpected rise of The United's manager DArqueBishop. The faction leaders fought well, but LordSkarlet's return has been cemented as a complete reversal of the early year trials that drove him to "fall"! This match more than any became a story of the dark horses - underrated competitors with a chance to surprise the field!

No horse was darker than "The Apprentice" DeathScepter, though! In the only legitimate upset of the Quarters, The_Purple_Bunny found himself completely bamboozled! After demolishing "The Chosen One" Damo in Round 4, TPB may have underestimated the Service Krew Apprentice. DS powered through to scoop the surprise win, ending one of the strongest win streaks in the event!

Tournament 68: Mid-Year Grand Slam - Round 4

With the finals in sight, the major challengers to the Mid-Year Grand Slam title made their move! The unusually high impact rate cooled in Round 4 as a notably high quality field of challengers moved into the deeper rounds. Only #2 seed The_Purple_Bunny delivered a double digit impact. His grudge match with "The Chosen One" Damo was one of the most anticipated battles of the round, producing a scintillating grudge match rooted in their early feud!

The tournament lost its second of the seeds, #3 VenoMark suffering defeat at the Hall of Fame hands of all-time great Ratt! #4 seed Statix proved himself as KFL Champion in the non-title situation, stepping up to Mime in an exciting hard fought match! The Statix win really exceeded expectations, recalling his shock 2014 Mid-Year Grand Slam title win at Tournament 44!

The Invasion lost their final hopes in the tournament: Hokey was upended in a high caliber battle against The Great Genku. ICWW fans were treated to a thrilling grudge match, Violent`J taking out Invasion Duo player Banging in a solid fight. The United kept an iron in the fire, however, with managerial recruit DArqueBishop outperforming his team!

Benjamin's bye into the Fourth Round probably didn't prepare him well for a highly motivated attack from "The Fallen" LordSkarlet! LS' return to Grand Slam tournament finals - a bold step in the resurrection of his career! King Ken was a more surprising elimination.

Tournament 68: Mid-Year Grand Slam - Round 3

Round 3 proved Tournament 68: 2016 Mid-Year Grand Slam would have a higher than usual level of violence, two more fighters inflicting MAX Damage! Legendary Hall of Famer Ratt wasn't much of a surprise, dispatching jack4813 with extreme prejudice. #2 seed The_Purple_Bunny proved more surprising, unleashing the defeat of defeats upon "The Predator" TonyTheTiger!

Old acquaintances forgot came to the fore in Round 3. Sekktor could not tame the rage of "The Fallen" LordSkarlet, who was unrelenting in the +12 beatdown of the former friend and ally he turned on after returning in May! The strained relationship between ElJobber and Mime played out in a rare battle between the pair, where the apprentice of The Corrupt surpassed the master! A sentiment echoed by Banging's victory over Invasion figurehead and Brexiter ShawnMichaels!

"The Service Krew" Damo & DeathScepter are a unit that seemed to have no problems on Day 4 of competition. Their joint defeat at Supercard 80: Tower of Power XVI is quickly becoming a distant memory as they plough through the individual competition. "Chosen One" Damo negotiated the dangerous SubScorpTile with a dominant victory, setting up a major Round 4 encounter with arch-rival TPB! Damo's record breaking nemesis Violent`J picked up an even bigger win as well, destroying Shoe! It's a result that leaves The United with only DArqueBishop still live, thanks to his elimination of The Invasion's champ-killer Loopster!

The Great Genku and Hokey were workman-like in their continued march through the field, emerging as major favourites. #3 and #4 seeds VenoMark and Statix both earned clean wins, too! Thanks to the Round 3 draw, Benjamin got the only cakewalk of the tournament, heading to R4!

Tournament 68: Mid-Year Grand Slam - Round 2

Old rivalries were revisited in Round 2 as the 2016 Mid-Year Grand Slam amped up the action!

#3 seed VenoMark held his ground against old rival "The Guardian" CaTigeReptile, earning a strong win to keep his sights set on the Undisputed Championship! King Ken revisited a history of sparring with Jammer2Omega, maintaining his upper hand as "King of the World". "The Secret Weapon" SubScorpTile etched his name in the Div.2 winners list, beating out former champ and title rival Zentile in a solid victory!

The biggest story of Day 3 was the shock elimination of reigning Undisputed Champion and #1 seed DECEPTION! The wisdom of adding a tournament endurance event to the trials of being champion has often been debated. It wasn't something that bothered DECEPTION when he won Tournament 64: Grand Prix Warm-Up 2016 in April, but the path finally ran short - Loopster edging out a win!

DECEPTION was the first seed to fall in the early goings. #4 seed and reigning KFL Champion Statix earned a dominant +20 impact win over ]{0MBAT! In the final fight of the round, #2 seed The_Purple_Bunny fought a main event worthy match with United: Artanix, taking it +3!

Tournament 68 is fast emerging as an event of dire consequences: Hokey progressed in a domination of Dolce, while Hall of Fame Duo Division Champion Violent`J wiped out TheMetinPorta. They both join big name Round 2 duo casualty Menas on the incapacitated list! Ratt was another Hall of Famer causing harm, taking out The_Hurricane to the tune of +10. Mime didn't fatally wound his opponent, but never the less joined the MAX Damage club, battering Supercard 80 Duo contender CCShadow!

Tournament 68: Mid-Year Grand Slam - Day 2

Day 2 of Tournament 68 revealed a densely packed second part of the First Round bracket! Just like Day 1, the top seeds emerged comfortable in victory: KFL Champion and #4 seed Statix having no trouble with ArtemisFlow. #2 seed The_Purple_Bunny exited the British Exiter Liam with ease!

"The Predator" TonyTheTiger made waves as the biggest impact player of Day 2, annihilating unfortunate Aussie fighter: BIGkev! "The Service Krew" Damo & DeathScepter bounced back quickly from the disappointment of conceding their Duo Division Championship defense record at Supercard 80: Tower of Power XVI - both securing solid wins! Tower winner and reigning Hall of Fame Duo Division Champion Violent`J was a surprising entrant into the tournament, taking out The Invasion's Jason_Voorhees!

There was a long list of potential tournament favourites also coming out of the second half of the bracket: ElJobberMimeKing Ken, United: Artanix, United: ShoeBanging, ShawnMichaels, Jammer2Omega, "The Secret Weapon" SubScorpTile and others.

Tournament 68: Mid-Year Grand Slam - Day 1

Day 1 of the 2016 Mid-Year Grand Slam proved to be a mostly by the numbers reveal of the first half of the randomly drawn bracket for Round 1! #1 seed and reigning Undisputed Champion DECEPTION was comfortable in his defeat of Jauger, while #3 seed and recently anointed #1 contender VenoMark ended the day's action with an emphatic +MAX impact against Celeste!

There were three devastating MAX Damage results on Day 1: Ratt bounced back from Supercard 80: Tower of Power XVI, unleashing a Hall of Fame performance against ermac. European Union fighter Chromatose surprised everyone when he annihilated Corrupt MINION! Weekly Rankings Recap - 6/19/2016

The week began with the shock injury sidelining of Division 2 Champion "The Franchise" Poasty, but it was overshadowed by the historic Duo Division Championship match at Supercard 80: Tower of Power XVI! Legendary champions "Team Xtreme" Marz & Violent`J secured a record setting eleventh title defense, besting "The Service Krew" Damo & DeathScepter in a fated final match!

Neither of the finalist teams were able to break back into the Duo Division Top 10. Instead, it was a stunning seven win performance by CCShadow & Scott-Howell that rocketed them back to the top of the Duo Division ranks! The dominant performance has also shot them to the top of contention consideration, setting them up as likely challengers for July 24's Supercard 81: Royal Roulette!

"The Invasion" Daemonx & Banging and Politics & Menas were the other big winners, taking the majority of wins from the hopeful Challenger 7! They settle in #6 and #7, respectively. The shift of the last few weeks comes at the expense of McDaniel & fraysol -- the exciting find of 2016 falling out to #11!

The Tower of Power also shaped the top of the Division 2 rankings at a crucial time, lodging Duo Division stars firmly into the Top 4. League officials have been reluctant to reach any decision about the now inactive title. With Poasty's injuries appearing quite severe, calls for the title to be vacated seem likely to be indulged. Benjamin hangs in as the strongest dedicated contender, but anybody could emerge from the Duo Division as a frontrunner!

Tournament 68: Mid-Year Grand Slam could change all scenarios as 128 of the best fighters in the league converge on the third Grand Slam tournament of the 2016 season! Monday Night Invasion and Friday Night Fights will go on hiatus, clearing the week for seven rounds of peak elimination competition! #3 seed VenoMark set himself up as a contender to watch with a big win this week on FNF! Be here all week for all the tournament action!

Supercard 80: Tower of Power XVI

It is a structure that offers hope to the outsider, belief to the underdog. The Tower of Power comes with the turning of the wheel, allowing those who take its challenge to ride the highs and the lows! At its peak - championship gold to be plucked by any with the hunger and power to take it!

Supercard 80: Tower of Power XVI is a special Tower, indeed! Waiting at the top is the Duo Division Champions: "Team Xtreme" Marz & Violent`J - Hall of Famers whose return to the ranks late in 2015 has resulted in in an unstoppable reign of 10 title defenses! It is a record second only to "The Service Krew" Damo & DeathScepter, who have reunited to be granted the #1 spot and a chance to defend their record of 10 title defenses provided they can make it to the top!

The Tower of Power:
21. "Team Xtreme" Marz & Violent`J (c) d. "The Service Krew" Damo & DeathScepter (#1) [+2] [Duo Division Championship]
It was at Supercard 69: All-Star Summer Showdown that "The Service Krew" Damo & DeathScepter established the benchmark for all Duo Division Champions! Their successful title defense against m0s & Knickxasawrrrr was their tenth and final in a two-pronged reign that lasted from December to September 2015! Nobody really expected their record to ever be challenged, but the return of ICWW minted Hall of Fame pairing Marz & Violent`J had changed all of that! In all of their appearances in The Great Arena, they had lost only once! They weren't the team to end the D&D title streak, but they did quickly seize upon the rival team who did. Their unstoppable reign has seen them beat the best the league has to offer - but they'd never defended against Damo & DeathScepter! Electricity filled the air as the two teams came face to face. They exploded! The Service Krew bitterly seizing upon their opportunity with all the entitlements of a team who'd done their apprenticeship in The Great Arena itself! Team Xtreme responded with contempt. They'd set the standard for two-man fighting over a decade ago! No record could stand without them setting it! For a stunning eleventh straight time, they proved they were the standard for Duo Division Champions! Damo & DeathScepter simply outclassed by the legendary Hall of Fame team!

20. "The Service Krew" Damo & DeathScepter (#1) d. "The United" Shoe & Artanix (#2) [+1]
With CCShadow & Scott-Howell taken out of their dominant rampage through The Tower, the tone shifted. It was down to two of the most dominant teams to grace the division in the past couple of years. For "The Service Krew" Damo & DeathScepter, it was the one fight standing between them and a defense of one of the most impressive records in league history - the longest undefeated streak for Duo Division Champions! They wanted a straight rematch against the champions, but league officials decreed they would have to earn it. For "The United", it was a chance to spoil the aspirations of a pairing who'd only achieved their 10 title defense record after they took the titles from them! An exciting, main event calibre grudge match in the mould of the 19th battle before it! In fact, the attack of both teams echoed that last battle closely. This time, Shoe & Artanix were the already sweating pair grappling with the fresh onslaught of a veteran team! They put up a brilliant fight, but in the end Damo & DeathScepter would not accept anything but a date with destiny!

19. "The United" Shoe & Artanix (#2) d. CCShadow & Scott-Howell (#8) [+1]
No team starting a Tower of Power outside the Top 6 has ever made it to the final rung, but with their domination of the field to this point: #8 CCShadow & Scott-Howell had everyone in attendance expecting history to be made! Tower XVI unfolded to reveal a distinctly tiered ladder, with a clear progression to the most seasoned combinations in the top half. No team to this point had the notoriety or familiarity with their challengers that "The United" Shoe & Artanix have! It was always going to be a main event caliber showdown. The United used their freshness and established success to throw down a high level gauntlet! Some consider Artanix the greatest Duo fighter of all time, and he showed it, contributing to a massive effort! It was a hard fought legendary battle, but in the end, CCShadow & Scott-Howell's streak would come to an end. Howell so close to changing a record!

18. CCShadow & Scott-Howell (#8) d. "The New Generation" Baraka_MK & Onryo (#3) [+2]
2016 has been described as the beginning of The New Generation era with DECEPTION's rise as Undisputed Champion at UGP6, but the dominance of Hall of Fame combination Marz & Violent`J has spoiled Baraka_MK & Onryo's efforts to claim their place. Old rivals CCShadow & Scott-Howell knew to respect their opponents, once again kicking their efforts into overdrive. The New Generation went hard, looking to continue the run that earned them their spot at Pre-Show 80. It was fast becoming apparent that the night would belong to CCShadow & Scott-Howell, however -- a phenomenal seventh victory fuelling belief they could climb The Tower!

17. CCShadow & Scott-Howell (#8) d. Jammer2Omega & Porygonix (#4) [+1]
The emerging dynasty of Jammer2Omega & Porygonix took a hit at Pre-Show 80, relegating them to #4 behind the team who won. They were an exciting prospect to lock horns with the charging bull of CCShadow & Scott-Howell! The four warriors were compellingly matched, but the experience factor for CCShadow & Scott-Howell seemed to once again be the edge in an exciting battle! A loss, but another coming out for the still relatively young team of J2O & Pory!

16. CCShadow & Scott-Howell (#8) d. "The Fallen" UlcaTron & Corrupt hydraslash (#5) [+1]
Considered frontrunners for contention, the rapidly rising "Fallen" pairing of UlcaTron & Corrupt hydraslash posed a promising challenge for CCShadow & Scott-Howell! The #5 team have been conquering the ranks in the weeks and months leading up to Tower of Power, but something about the synchronization of the team seemed slightly off. They were slightly out of step, opening the door for CCShadow & Scott-Howell to turn up the heat on their attack on The Tower! The beginning of a streak that started the Great Arena audience in attendance buzzing.

15. CCShadow & Scott-Howell (#8) d. "The Alliance" AlbertBeefcake & The_Hurricane (#6) [+1]
"The Alliance" AlbertBeefcake & The_Hurricane set themselves up with a place on The Tower of Power with a big win over Sekktor & legoslayer10 [6/10/2016]. You wouldn't have necessarily known it, watching as they struggled against the awesome might of CCShadow & Scott-Howell! Once again, the legendary team working their way up The Tower showed signs of pacing themselves. A wile, veteran move, assessing vulnerable opponents ahead of many more strong opponents!

14. CCShadow & Scott-Howell (#8) d. Sekktor & legoslayer10 (#7) [+1]
Sekktor & legoslayer10 had a hard path to The Tower of Power, not the ideal preparation for such a demanding event! They looked like a team distracted, still grappling with the drama of their friend and ally "The Fallen" LordSkarlet's return. They were clearly riding past performances to The Tower, engulfed by veterans CCShadow & Scott-Howell, who appeared to be pacing themselves as they effortlessly took the win.

13. CCShadow & Scott-Howell (#8) d. "The Invasion" DaemonX & Banging (#9) [+1]
#8 team CCShadow & Scott-Howell came in hot, just like they did for their shock elimination of Ratt & NightHawk in The Challenger 7! "The Invasion" DaemonX & Banging showed consistency in their offensive, but CCShadow & Scott-Howell put together an attack worthy of a Hall of Fame Duo! The Invasion weer able to escape the battle relatively unscathed - The American Dreamers looking ahead to the rest of The Tower!

12. "The Invasion" DaemonX & Banging (#9) d. Politics & Menas (#10) [+1]
Politics & Menas did well to collect themselves after a bamboozling defeat at the end of a gruelling Challenger 7 run. The #9 team had lighter duties as the secondary enforcers against the C7 and it showed. "The Invasion" DaemonX & Banging put together a compelling, championship calibre performance to eliminate the first team on The Tower of Power!

The Challenger 7:
11. CCShadow & Scott-Howell (#8) d. Ratt & NightHawk [+1]
10. Ratt & NightHawk d. "The Invasion" DaemonX & Banging (#9) [+2]
9. Ratt & NightHawk d. Politics & Menas (#10) [+6]
Anticipation was high for the return of Hall of Famer Ratt & NightHawk - the only combination in the league to hold a victory over Tower Champions: Marz & Violent`J! A groundswell permeated The Great Arena - many believing this could be the team to produce something special! They started as anticipated - destroying Politics & Menas in their seventh match of the night! "The Invasion" DaemonX & Banging put up a better fight, but Rattamania engulfed them too - merciful to only dispatch them with +2p! It seemed as if the night was only just beginning when CCShadow & Scott-Howell descended like blast doors for their first match - completely shutting down the Hall of Fame assault! A shocking conclusion for The Challenger 7, and an exciting prelude to The Tower!

8. Politics & Menas (#10) d. "British Exit" Liam & nif [+1]
British Exiters Liam & nif continued to get the better of their European aligned counterparts -- but only just! They clearly out performed "The Greek Crisis", but were similarly unable to get the better of a reenergized Politics & Menas! It remains to be seen if the political strategy of Britain's fighters will pay off in the long run. They'll have a week to wait - Monday Night Invasion on hiatus next week for Tournament 68.

7. Politics & Menas (#10) d. McDaniel & fraysol [+1]
Politics & Menas bounced back from their previous loss, rising to the energy of one of the exciting up and coming teams in the Duo ranks! McDaniel & fraysol were explosive in their attack on The Tower, creating an incredibly close fought battle! They came up short, but it's another exciting step in the career of a hopeful combination!

6. "The Invasion" DaemonX & Banging (#9) d. Unknown265 & mwgrant0 [+2]
5. Unknown265 & mwgrant0 d. Politics & Menas (#10) [+1]
The comeback reunion of Unknown265 & mwgrant0 continued to be a bitter struggle as they ran into the roadblock of "The Invasion" DaemonX & Banging! They rose to the heights of past performances with a strong win over beleaguered Politics & Menas, but it all fell apart in the follow-up -- a far cry from the hot streak that took them to a Duo Division title match back at Supercard 76!

4. Politics & Menas (#10) d. "The Greek Crisis" maxilos & proXade [+1]
"The Greek Crisis" maxilos & proXade have been at the forefront of a political struggle between the fighters of Europe and the separatists of The British Exit, but their experiences couldn't prepare them for the man Politics, and his partner Menas! It was a hard fought match, but The Greek Crisis will have other priorities when Monday Night Invasion resumes in two weeks!

3. "The Invasion" DaemonX & Banging (#9) d. Mark & Leroy [+2]
2. Mark & Leroy d. Politics & Menas (#10) [+1]
Tensions with the "British Exit" had earned Mark & Leroy notable wins heading into Tower of Power and they kept that momentum alive in a clash with old rivals Politics & Menas! It couldn't continue any farther than that, though - The Invasion's DaemonX & Banging too strong!

1. Politics & Menas (#10) d. "The Invasion" Jason_Voorhees & edge [+1]
Pre-Show 80 qualifiers Jason_Voorhees & edge stepped up as the first team to take the challenge of the Top 10 team chosen from the Duo Division ranks. #10 tandem Politics & Menas set the tone for The 16th Tower, demonstrating the barrier to entry all Challenger 7 pairings could look forward to! It was a hard fought match, but The Invasion just couldn't find an edge.

Friday Night Fights (June 17, 2016)

Last week was all about the Duo Division, but with Supercard 80: Tower of Power XVI just two days away -- the best combinations in the league had done all they could to influence their positions. Saving themselves for the trials of a potential historic Duo Division Championship win; their absence opened the floor to some of the best solo fighters in the league!

With competition heating up around the Undisputed and Division 2 Championships, some of the biggest contenders were present for a packed Friday Night Fights! The announcement of next week's 2016 Mid-Year Grand Slam added a sense of urgency to set themselves up for a big run at Tournament 68!

The_Purple_Bunny had the biggest target on his back, still stinging from his Undisputed Championship loss at Pre-Show 80: DECEPTION/TPB II - The Rematch! It was VenoMark who stepped into The Great Arena to take the advantage, eager to prove himself as the next hot contender. He did so superbly, besting TPB in a hard hitting fight that arguably puts him at the front of title contention going in to Tournament 68! A result that challenges their seeding as #2 and #3.

The Great Genku attempted to take a more direct line to title gold, demanding the Division 2 Championship revert back to him in light of Poasty's shock return to injury! Officials intend to use thirty days grace before they make a decision about Poasty's status as champion, but assured they would not simply be handing the title out. Instead, King Ken was sent to test Genku's mettle -- a test Genku passed efficiently.

The potential sidelining of Poasty has several top contenders emerging to prove their worthiness for the Div.2 gold. Benjamin sent a particularly strong message, unleashing a +17 beat down to the 2016 Fighter for Europe Nephrite, who was still smarting from his loss to Hokey as part of The European Union's declaration of war on Monday Nights [6/13/2016]! Murdoink and NovaStarr also picked up solid victories.

With their hopes for a run in The Challenger 7 dashed, The Unholy Alliance of ElJobber & Mime opted to strengthen their attack on the Mid-Year Grand Slam. They bested TonyTheTiger and CaTigeReptile respectively.

Friday Night Fights will return on July 1st after the entire next week is dedicated to 128 of the best fighters eliminating each other in Tournament 68: Mid-Year Grand Slam 2016! Before that happens, the best in the Duo Division will take the test of Supercard 80: Tower of Power XVI, where "The Service Krew" Damo & DeathScepter will reunite in the #1 rung as they try to stop "Team Xtreme" Marz & Violent`J breaking their record of 10 successful title defenses!

Friday Night Fights (June 17, 2016):
9. VenoMark d. The_Purple_Bunny [+8]
8. Mime d. "The Predator" TonyTheTiger [+1]
7. ElJobber d. "The Guardian" CaTigeReptile [+2]

Tower of Power XVI Preview

This weekend the best tandems in the Duo Division will fight for the ultimate opportunity at Supercard 80: Tower of Power XVI!

The legendary Tower brings together the ten top teams in the ultimate gauntlet for The Challenger 7: hopeful contenders who can claim the Duo Division Championship if they successfully run through eleven tiers of opponents! Once they have tried, The Tower of Power then turns on itself - fighting until only one team remains to face the Duo Division Champions!

History weighs heavily on this, the sixteenth Tower of Power! "The Service Krew" Damo & DeathScepter have reunited to try to defend their legendary record of 10 title defenses as Duo Division Champions. To give them the best opportunity, they have been granted the #1 spot on the Tower of Power. This gives them prime position to upset the dominant Hall of Fame Champions: "Team Xtreme" Marz & Violent`J!

How does Tower of Power history favour them? This is Team Xtreme's first time being part of the Tower of Power itself, but Damo & DeathScepter have extensive experience, including two final battles!

Former Duo Division Tower of Power Finalists:
1. The_Purple_Bunny & Jade (c) d. Hokey & Mime (#1) - Supercard 15: Tower of Power III (November 6, 2011)
2. Genku & ShingoEX (#2) d. DECEPTION & Onryo (c) - Supercard 20: Tower of Power IV (February 19, 2012)
3. m0s & Knickxasawrrrr (c) d. The_Purple_Bunny & Philip94 (#6) - Supercard 40: Tower of Power VIII (September 15, 2013)
4. Hokey & Mime (c) d. Kron & Porygonix (#5) - Supercard 45: Tower of Power IX (December 29, 2013)
5. Damo & DeathScepter (#2) d. Shoe & Artanix (c) - Supercard 60: Tower of Power XII (February 22, 2015)
6. Ratt & NightHawk (#1) d. Damo & DeathScepter (c) - Supercard 70: Tower of Power XIV (September 20, 2015)

Will the seemingly unstoppable Duo Division Champions be able to withstand the challenge of the ultimate survivor? Only one team will sharpen their power to fight for the gold! It all goes down this weekend - Sunday, June 19th!

2016 Mid-Year Grand Slam Begins Next Week

It has cast a faint shadow across an action-packed month, looming on the horizon as the ultimate test for a conflicted arena. The wait is almost over as the third Grand Slam Tournament of 2016 is finally upon us! Tournament 68: 2016 Mid-Year Grand Slam begins next week with a 128-fighter single elimination bracket that will test the best and potentially steer us to the next #1 contender!

The randomly drawn bracket will be revealed as matches begin Monday, June 20th with a diverse field of some of the league's greatest competitors! Anchoring this action will be four top seeds selected by officials: Reigning Undisputed Champion and 2016 Grand Prix Warm-Up winner "The Hitman" DECEPTION will be #1 seed, 2015 Mid-Year Grand Slam winner and freshly dethroned champion The_Purple_Bunny will be #2, top contender VenoMark will be #3, and current reigning KFL Champion and 2014 Mid-Year Grand Slam winner Statix will be #4 seed.

To make way for the annual tournament major, Monday Night Invasion and Friday Night Fights will take a one week hiatus. Competitors appearing regularly on both programs will be included in the random draw, adding heightened competition as members of The Invasion, The Alliance, The European Union and The British Exit all vie for supremacy coming out of this past Monday!

The Mid-Year Grand Slam is a prestigious title unto itself, introduced permanently into the annual fight calendar as a fixture of the 2013 Grand Slam era! Its origins date back to Tournament 5, where Hall of Fame legends Crow and Kron escalated their legendary rivalry in a fateful final! It's been a tournament for surprises as well, though, as we saw in 2014 when Baraka_MK stunned everyone in an unexpected face-off against future Alliance champion: Statix! History shows - anyone could win!

Former Mid-Year Grand Slam Finalists:
1. Crow d. Kron - Tournament 5: War for the Kr0wn (May 15, 2011)
2. Genku d. Mime - Tournament 31: Mid-Year Grand Slam 2013 (June 30, 2013)
3. Statix d. Baraka_MK - Tournament 44: Mid-Year Grand Slam 2014 (June 29, 2014)
4. The_Purple_Bunny d. Kron - Tournament 56: Mid-Year Grand Slam 2015 (June 28, 2015)

Tournament 68: Mid-Year Grand Slam 2016 begins right after Supercard 80 - June 20th-27th!

Before the tournament you won't want to miss the epic Duo Division Championship event Tournament 80: Tower of Power XVI! It all goes down this Sunday, June 19th - with "The Service Krew" Damo & DeathScepter entering the Tower at #1 in the hopes of stopping Hall of Fame combination "Team Xtreme" Marz & Violent`J from breaking their 10 title defense record! A super-charged Duo Division Supercard to set the table for a massive Mid-Year Tournament extravaganza! Be here!

Breaking: Division 2 Champion Injured!

Just two days after his incredible upset victory for the Division 2 Championship at Pre-Show 80: DECEPTION/TPB II: "The Franchise" Poasty has suffered another career threatening injury!

Poasty only recently made his return from injury during the May 27th edition of Friday Night Fights. The return culminated in a grudge match with The Great Genku for the Division 2 Championship. A stunning match that delivered the so-called "Franchise" to his first championship!

It should've been the height of his career, but Poasty's eagerness to be a fighting champion led to a shocking turn of events in the 48 hours following his title victory! Intense training saw the champion push himself too far. His efforts to prepare responsible for re-injuring him!

League officials have declined to make any comment about the state of the Division 2 Championship at this stage, but those present could clearly see Poasty will not be in action any time soon. The Div.2 title has only been vacated once in its three year existence, voluntarily by The_Purple_Bunny.

Monday Night Invasion (June 13, 2016)

History will remember June 13th, 2016 as the day The European Union invaded Monday Night Invasion! Britain is at odds with Europe! Europe is at war with The Invasion! On-going tensions exploded as European combatants followed up The Greek Crisis & Chromatose's victory at Pre-Show 80 by flooding The Great Arena! They weren't the only hostile element present on Monday!

The Fallen capitalized on growing pressures against The Invasion, forcing spiritual leader and British Exiter ShawnMichaels into a rematch of the May 30th main event! LordSkarlet used the match to turn the tables on his Invasion nemesis, dominating the besieged leader in a convincing win! The victory puts him back in the driver's seat for a shot at the KFL Championship. UlcaTron & Corrupt hydraslash also picked up a valuable win, setting them up for this weekend's Supercard 80: Tower of Power XVI - where they'll have the chance to fight for the Duo Division Championship!

"The Greek Crisis" maxilos & proXade continued their campaign against "British Exit" Liam & nif, eking out a moral duo victory in a hard fought match. Their Pre-Show ally Chromatose had similar luck, overcoming TripleH with no trouble!

Will Europe's incursion set the table for a Duo Division Championship reign? The gold will be on the line this Sunday - June 19th! Unstoppable Hall of Fame Champions "Team Xtreme" Marz & Violent`J will defend the coveted titles against the team who can climb the ladder of success at Supercard 80: Tower of Power XVI!

Weekly Rankings Recap - 6/12/2016

Pre-Show 80: DECEPTION/TPB II - The Rematch delivered a shake-up of the championships with DECEPTION rebounding quickly to regain the Undisputed Championship, and Statix successfully knocking back the heavyweight advance of Invasion recruit: Hokey!

These results will pose serious questions about the next crop of contenders. "The Fallen" LordSkarlet hovers as a circling shark around the KFL Championship, but the Undisputed title will likely have to wait for the annual Mid-Year Grand Slam later in June to find its top contender!

The rise of "The Franchise" Poasty delivered the greatest intrigue - new Division 2 Champion after a stunning win against arch-rival The Great Genku! The result shifts power back to the under 5k class after Genku's unusual request to fulfill his "Grand Path" of holding every title in his career. It remains to be seen if tensions between the two will compel Genku to remain in the second tier ranks, or if he will return his sights to higher goals.

With the Duo Division Championship to be on the line this weekend at Supercard 80: Tower of Power XVI - "The Service Krew Damo & DeathScepter did their campaign a world of good, knocking back VenoMark's attempt to upset their final run! "The New Generation" Baraka_MK & Onryo also evened out a rough run with a solid win against Jammer2Omega & Porygonix! How the Tower of Power will come together is still anyone's guess, but these teams, along with "The United" Shoe & Artanix seem to be frontrunners for the top spots!

Supercard 80 takes place this weekend - Sunday, June 19th! Weeks of scrambling will finally deliver the best Duos in the league to The Tower of Power, where they will all fight to upset the dominant Duo Division Champions: "Team Xtreme" Marz & Violent`J!

Pre-Show 80: DECEPTION/TPB II - The Rematch

A super stacked card had Pre-Show 80: DECEPTION/TPB II - The Rematch feeling like a main event Supercard! With three major championships on the line, and Tower of Power stakes up and down the card, it was guaranteed to be a historic night!

Just twenty-one days after The_Purple_Bunny made history as the first ever six-time Undisputed Champion, he found himself back in the firing line with his Supercard 79 opponent! "The Hitman" DECEPTION was targeting a quick comeback after his disappointing loss, which surprised many, ending a title reign that included a main event defense at Ultimate Grand Prix VI! The challenger seemed completely unphased by his recent loss. DECEPTION came in hard and fast, bamboozling a TPB who seemed fatigued after his sixth championship! The Hitman picked all the right spots, utterly destroying The_Purple_Bunny to restore himself back to the top as the Undisputed Champion!

It was a good night for The New Generation all around! Baraka_MK & Onryo had set the tone for DECEPTION earlier in the night, taking a competitive win from #1 ranked duo Jammer2Omega & Porygonix! The result picked up the tab from The New Generation's shock June 6th loss to The Invasion's DaemonX & Banging, and recent troubles with The United. They'll likely have to go through The United next week if they're to become Duo Division Champions.

The Invasion had their chips in a recruit that was controversially fired by The United: Hokey managed to fend off the aggressions of "The Fallen" LordSkarlet during Monday Night Invasion earlier this week. The win secured his chance to take the KFL Championship on The Invasion's behalf, but it seemed he may have expelled his best in dominating LordSkarlet! The Alliance champ Statix appeared to have Hokey's number, countering his attacks to take a well earned, comfortable win. The Invasion will have to continue to covet the object of power from afar!

"The Franchise" Poasty got his first taste of gold, ending the dominating reign of unlikely Division 2 Champion: The Great Genku. Genku was reluctant to defend the title against Poasty, who made his recent return from the injured list to issue the grudge match. Genku was languid in his efforts as "The Franchise" lived up to his name! A major moment in Poasty's career that left Genku fuming!

VenoMark & MKR weren't too pleased to see their best laid plans go awry, either. The #1 Tower of Power team Damo & DeathScepter managed to fend off the spiteful duo, who thought they might turn the tables for The Service Krew's sniping at Pre-Show 79! The Krew will go on to Tower of Power to try to stop "Team Xtreme" Marz & Violent`J surpassing their record of ten title defenses.

Pre-Show 80 also confirmed two of the Challenger 7 teams who will take on The Tower of Power! The only team to have ever defeated the champions in their Great Arena career: Ratt & NightHawk, took out the recently recalibrated The Unholy Alliance in an all-star encounter! Jason_Voorhees & edge will represent The Invasion thanks to their win over Rhyno & Grayback.

Chromatose was a surprising addition to a newly solidified European Union, joining "The Greek Crisis" maxilos & proXade in a beat down of "British Exit" ShawnMichaels, Ironize & AcidicWonder. The solid win is a strike back for the Europeans, who've taken exception to plans for British fighters to leave the League and join The Invasion!

Friday Night Fights (June 10, 2016)

Pre-Show 80: DECEPTION/TPB II - The Rematch may be just two days away - but the looming expectation for Supercard 80: Tower of Power XVI had everyone on high alert during this week's Friday Night Fights! A pre-announced line-up of high stakes Duo Division competition gave FNF a big time feel - many matches sure to be scrutinized before The Tower of Power event!

"The Unholy Alliance" ElJobber & Mime were being scrutinized for entirely different reasons. Their tumultuous relationship of the past few months has been well documented, with no certainty they were even still willing to work together! Fortunately, it seems Mime has chosen ElJobber over Hokey after their Supercard 79 showdown! The pairing were in scintillating form as they dominated the rising combo of DaemonX & Banging! The result puts a dent in The Invasion's contention plans after a major upset win against The New Generation this past Monday! What it means in the short term for The Unholy Alliance - to be determined!

Politics & Menas probably won't be starting at the top of The Tower in two weeks. Coming off a big win at Supercard 79, they had high hopes against newly #1 ranked team Jammer2Omega & Porygonix! It was a highly competitive match - an endorsement of the high calibre performances Politics & Menas have been putting on this year. Alas; the developing chemistry between J2O & Pory continues to be a compelling concoction! You can be sure they'll factor in to the coming Tower!

McDaniel & fraysol, AlbertBeefcake & The_Hurricane, rxvt & deadly, Piccolo & GohanSon and deadpool & MercWithMouth were the other big duo winners on Friday night! "British Exit" Liam & nif shored up their position with a big win over The Greek Crisis -- good for their case for Britain to leave Europe and The Union League behind, as well as their title aspirations! The loss for Unknown265 & mwgrant0 -- another cruel note in their reunion after mwgrant0 spent several months on the sidelines due to a devastating injury in their title match at Supercard 76.

Before The Tower of Power there is Pre-Show 80: DECEPTION/TPB II - The Rematch -- a heavily stacked Pre-Show card with an unbelieve three championship matches! "The Hitman" DECEPTION will attempt to recapture his lost Undisputed Championship in the headlining rematch with six-time champ The_Purple_Bunny! The power of the KFL Championship will be contested when Hokey represents The Invasion against reigning Alliance champ Statix! PLUS: "The Franchise" Poasty finally gets his grudge match with notably reluctant Division 2 Champion: The Great Genku!
