While the Undisputed Championship is recognised to be the iconic statement of the greatest fighter at any given time; there is an undeniable prestige associated with the accomplishment of fighting through a field of many, to become victor of a Tournament event. Tournament 1 preceeds the establishment of the Undisputed Championship, which was crowned at the conclusion of Tournament 2. The elimination format makes a tournament win a very special distinction for any fighter able to secure total victory.
Tournaments range in length, from one hundred and twenty-eight fighters (T5), to a more modest field of sixteen (T3). Cr0w has the honorable distinction of being the first fighter to win two tournaments, each leading him to an Undisputed Championship victory. Genku was the first Tournament winner, victorious in a field that included Ares Menschlich and Bez Busshitsu. Tournament 10 introduced the first Round Robin, pitting classes of four fighters against each other in a series of deciding heats. Despite losing a Class B match to Ratt, TonyTheTiger proceeded by total [after beating Genku in a tie breaker] to become the eventual tournament winner.

The Battle Royale
Occasionally there comes a time when competition demands more than a standard one-on-one or duo encounter, offering victory to a host of competitors in the many. Typically featuring between 6 and 20 fighters, this all-in elimination match type is known as a Battle Royal, but when the numbers bulge upwards in the neighbourhood of forty, it becomes a Battle Royale!
Filtering entrants into the match once every ninty seconds, the usually random draw offers a delicate balance between the momentum built by an early entry, and the relative freshness granted to a late number. The test of endurance, strength, skill and luck is never more potent than in the mammoth Battle Royale, which was inducted January 31, 2011 as the feature of Supercard 1. The winner of Battle Royale 2011 was granted a guaranteed shot at the Undisputed Championship in the pre-ordained main event of the special Ultimate Grand Prix spectacular. It is an offering expected to be repeated in 2012.
ElJobber was the first winner of the Battle Royale match, entering relatively late as #33, to eliminate six opponents in his thirty-five minutes. "The Iron Man" Ratt forecast his moniker with an impressive one hour, nineteen minutes and fifty-three seconds in the match, eliminating eight opponents from the #9 spot (elimimated #38, himself). STEROLIZER made history in infamy as the first competitor to last only one second, eliminated as soon as he entered Battle Royale 2011 (#6), by Ken. This also made him the historic first elimination in the match type.

The Tower of Power
Representing the ultimate opportunity to all levels of competition; the construct known as The Tower of Power has become a regular fixture of competition in The Great Arena. Far from a shortcut to the top -- the Tower typically arranges the top ten contenders in gauntlet formation, with the Champion positioned at the top of the list. The Contender Tower must first fend off a group of qualifying challengers (usually known as The Challenger 7), before turning inward in an elimination format. Battles occur from the bottom up, requiring the lowest rung (#10) to compete in the most number of matches to earn contention. The Tower of Power officially ends whensoever the Champion is defeated, or when all competitors have been exhausted in the elimination stages.
Despite being forced to face the gauntlet of the Barons of Lord Mislukking after his Championship victory, Ratt was the first official winner of the Tower of Power. Cr0w became the first Champion to successfully defend his title, defeating ElJobber at Tower of Power II. ElJobber was the longest survivor to reach the Championship battle, defeating six opponents (as #6 contender) before the final loss. This marked Cr0w's fifth consecutive defense of the Undisputed Championship, part of a record setting reign. With Tower of Power IV, Genku & ShingoEX became the longest survivors to win, contending from the #2 spot. They were the second duo to win, after The_Purple_Bunny & Blaze, at Tower of Power III.
February 19, 2012, Pink_Ranger & Ghostdragon became the most successful members of The Challenger 7, winning five matches before losing to the #5 team of Tower of Power IV (m0s & Nemesis316). This was surpassed during Tower of Power V, when Statix defeated six ranked opponents, and Marz defeated eight -- losing to the #2 contender! The only way a member of the Challenger 7 can win is to defeat all ten contenders, before defeating the Champion themselves, ending the Tower.

The Banzuke Winners List
Although The Great Arena is best known for hosting combat battles, there are a range of arcade attractions that also amuse participants and spectators, alike. The most noteworthy of these side attractions is Daruma 7 -- a game of luck based on the traditional Japanese Daruma Otoshi. This oversized variant includes an additional two layers to the classic five, each required to be hammered out from the stack, starting at the bottom. Victory is obtained when all seven layers are successfully knocked out, without the precarious Daruma Doll falling from the top.
The odds of winning Daruma 7 are an estimated 1 in 1371 tries.
Introduced late in 2010, it was long believed a winner would never be crowned, with thousands of attempts registering no better than the final layer. August, 2011 proved to be a shocking turning point when three winners were announced in rapid succession! As the first to add his name to The Banzuke, m0s earned the nickname "Mr. Daruma," further consolidating his achievement with an unlikely second win! m0s further solidified his legend with a stunning third win in 2012, ascending to "Lord Daruma" in the process.
