Supercard 90: Tower of Power XVIII was an event full of surprises! Among the unexpected twists: a rearrangement of two warring teams competing in The Challenger 7! The quartet chose the Monday Night Games to explain the change, challenging members of The United to face a new regime!
"American Nightmare" LordSkarlet assumed leadership of The Corrupt remnants of Lucifer's Ladder last year, forging a fractured dynasty known as The Fallen. They were opposed by former duo partners Sekktor & legoslayer10 thereafter, who thought they'd failed to break through to former friend Corrupt hydraslash. After Sekktor's futile battle at Supercard 89: Breaking Point, the corruption apparently lifted, yet hydraslash remained with LordSkarlet -- until Tower of Power!
The New Fallen attempted to flex their muscle against one of the most successful teams in the league, but on The United's home turf of Monday Night Games, the challenge was a bridge too far!
Murdoink held back legoslayer10 in convincing fashion, while Artanix helped newcomer zelse earn an incredible victory early in his career against reunited Sekktor & hydraslash! The night's main event ended with Shoe standing strong against the "American Nightmare" in a hard fought clash!
After the final match; Shoe addressed the uneasy state of the Duo Division in the wake of Tower of Power XVIII. Some have reacted critically to the collapse of The Tower at the history making event. Shoe issued an open challenge to the ranks of the Duo Division, inviting The Fallen and all other teams to come and play with The United!
It will be two weeks before the invitation can be accepted. Next week's Monday Night Games and Friday Night Fights will be preempted for the week long 2017 Grand Prix Warm-Up! The annual Grand Slam Tournament brings together 128 fighters in the second bracket of the year. All part of the festival season counting down to the biggest event of the calendar - Ultimate Grand Prix!
