The wheel of fortune is inconsistent by nature. In moments of great triumph we rise up on its spokes, inevitably returned to depths as the wheel completes its fall. Fortune's gifts are fleeting, withdrawn as quickly as they're offered. Some will choose to make their own path, but at Royal Roulette, the prize is a moment to ascend to the summit of possibility and reach for greatness!
Last year it was 2017 Hall of Fame inductee Hokey who outlasted twenty-nine other fighters to win the Royal Roulette match! Four months later, he used his title opportunity to claim the Undisputed Championship at Supercard 86: Survivor Sequence - Invasion! With six guaranteed qualifiers and untold hundreds entering the random draw: Who will be 2017's lucky winner? The wheel of fortune spins once again. This is Supercard 96: Royal Roulette!

29. Poasty (#19) elim. The_Purple_Bunny (#22)
Excitement permeated the air as anticipation for the first Royal Roulette entrants grew. It was to be a flashback to last year when Miller entered at #1, with kibble grossly outmatched in the opening struggle!
Miller was denied another year's first elimination as AlexanderLuthorJr stormed in at #3! The pair brawled for 90 seconds straight until the arrival of TonyTheTiger at #4 dramatically changed the atmosphere! The Predator nailed Miller, setting him up for elimination by AlexanderLuthorJr. Then TTT capitalized by taking him out of the match, as well!
#5 xort got his first Royal Roulette off to the right start, instantly eliminating an enduring kibble! It meant he had to suffer alone against The Predator, however, who didn't even miss a beat when King Ken arrived: the first of the Pre-Show qualifiers!
TTT greeted Lays with a knock-out blow, which allowed Ken to steal an elimination. It was soon the King of the World who was sent packing, though. DarkScythe was a lamb to the slaughter until "The Guardian" CaTigeReptile arrived to lend a helping hand! TTT & CTR became allies out of last year's match, but it was every fighter for themselves in the 2017 Royal Roulette! CTR did her best to take control of the match, but it was still The Predator who sunk his teeth into the eliminations of DarkScythe, vaiisekk, and surprise last minute qualifier Onimike - who ultimately cost Genku his appearance in the match! The audience waited for Genku when the countdown to #30 began, but it was J-Spit who drew the lucky last position -- only to be eliminated after 12 seconds by abcdeath!
The twenty minute mark saw rapidfire eliminations of Chromatose, Ottis, and Evolved. After just 4 seconds in the match, Poasty scored his first elimination by taking out Fantoche! Nearly a minute later, TonyTheTiger completed the erosion of Benjamin to bring the match to its halfway point!
The_Purple_Bunny came in at #22 and became an immediate target! Poasty & Loopster greeted the 2017 Battle Royale winner, before maxilos & LordSkarlet had a shot as well. Eventually the target on TPB's back brought together a five-on-one force that added CTR and TTT! That allowed Poasty to take control with hard shots against LordSkarlet, and an eliminating effort against KombatKid! The arrival of Hall of Famer Marz allowed TPB to draw attention away from himself. directing traffic at the ICWW legend!
9 fighters remained in the match with no more entrants to come. abcdeath managed to hide in the chaos as the heavyhitters went to work! For one brief moment CaTigeReptile revisited her role as Invasion killer, taking out Loopster. TonyTheTiger quickly found abcdeath, ending his upstart run. Then TPB caught CaTigeReptile from behind, allowing LordSkarlet to earn a massive elimination! Poasty made him pay for it, delivering hard shots to The Red Nightmare while TonyTheTiger busied himself with the elimination of Murdoink. The Predator soon spotted the vulnerable LordSkarlet, ending his hopeful run to set up a scintillating final four with: TonyTheTiger, The_Purple_Bunny, Marz and the one nobody thought should be there - Poasty!
Poasty went to war with TonyTheTiger, but The Predator had amassed a lot of enemies over the course of the match. His phenomenal 14 eliminations made him a serious threat that drew attacks from all sides. After devastating shots from The_Purple_Bunny, TTT's time was up! TPB then turned his focus to "The Franchise" Poasty, but Marz was quick to make the save!
The Battle Royale winner and Hall of Famer entered into an all-out blood feud, throwing devastating bombs like it was the main event of UGP! Poasty let the heavyweights tear each other down, taking a few shots before he saw his opening to finish off Marz! Wile veteran The_Purple_Bunny leapt immediately on Poasty, but the damage of his wars with TTT and Marz was done. To the absolute shock of everyone in attendance, Poasty chopped away at The_Purple_Bunny until he was finally the winner of the 2017 Royal Roulette match! He will now have the opportunity to challenge for the title of his choosing, at the moment he pleases! The Division 2 Championship is now behind him, but will "The Champion of Champions" watch and wait - or strike at the Undisputed Champion he already defeated in a clash of champions at the 2017 Mid-Year Grand Slam?
9. "The Chosen One" Damo (c) defeated Oozaru in convincing fashion! [+3] [Undisputed Championship]
Over the past few months The Great Arena has been electrified by Oozaru as half of the reunited Pacific Connection. Their legend as a duo stretches back to the days of ICWW, where Oozaru was also an accomplished World Champion! With his tournament victory at the 2017 Mid-Year Grand Slam; Oozaru became an unexpected challenger for the Undisputed Championship, with a chance to carry the gold into the ICWW 15th Anniversary event of Dead Or Alive X! To do so, he would have to beat a fighter fast making 2017 his own year. "The Chosen One" Damo shocked the world at The Spring Classic, but has steadily added to a year full of major wins! He was ill prepared for his newest challenger, but once again showed he's everything he claims to be! For the second year in a row, Royal Roulette would see no title changes. Now Damo looks ahead to the challenges of likely main eventing the spectacle of the annual All-Star Summer Showdown!
8. ElJobber defeated VenoMark [+1] [#1 Contender]
Since The Spring Classic, the Undisputed Championship has been caught in a triangle between three fighters. VenoMark was dashed in a Supercard 93 rematch with Damo, suffering further setback at Supercard 94. ElJobber made his comeback at that time, briefly separating Damo from the gold, before he snapped it back in the final of Tower of Power XIX. VenoMark knocked back some of his biggest rivals at that same event, further demanding attention when he reached the final of the 2017 Mid-Year Grand Slam! Refusing to be ripped from the title: VenoMark and ElJobber are unstoppable force and immovable object! Their collision at Royal Roulette was a necessary inevitability. Their match: a highly competitive duel between proven champions. The result: a hard earned victory that confirms ElJobber will be the next challenger for the Undisputed Championship. All that was left to determine - who would carry the gold towards Dead Or Alive X and All-Star Summer Showdown!
7. CCShadow & Scott-Howell (c) defeated Jerrod & SubMan799 in a comprehensive result. [+2] [Duo Division Championship]
It's been a long time since either Jerrod or SubMan799 has competed for Duo Division gold, but at the Mid-Year Grand Slam they found a common enemy. Both were eliminated from the event by Scott-Howell, and both realized they didn't much like that. They asserted themselves on the June 30 edition of Friday Night Fights, fatally eliminated Rhyno and Grayback. They knocked back top teams Jason_Voorhees & edge and Jammer2Omega & Porygonix on July 7th and July 14th, respectively. As strange as their ascent was, they finally earned their shot -- but it was all for nothing. CCShadow & Scott-Howell loom over the Duo Division more than they ever have before!
6. "The New Generation" DECEPTION & Onryo defeated Mark & Leroy in a comprehensive result. [+1]
On the grand stage of Ultimate Grand Prix VII: Mark & Leroy upset the fairy tale run of The New Generation! Baraka_MK & Onryo decided to go solo thereafter, with the goal of coming back together when they'd honed their technique. Instead, BMK found a new partner at Pre-Show 93, while Onryo sought Div.2 title glory. With his fortunes turning, Onryo announced he was ready to return to the Duo Division - and his old partner DECEPTION was happy to help! The former champions were dominant in their reunion, executing a comprehensive win over the New Gen nemeses! With the monkey finally off his back, "Mad Dog" Onryo celebrated the win like it was for gold, shouting "We did it! We did it!" as the arena erupted with applause.
5. United: Mime (c) defeated Banging in a solid win. [+1] [KFL Championship]
United: Mime drastically changed the picture for the KFL Championship in 2017 when he earned an unexpected title win on January 1st! The outgoing champ was Banging, but he soon bounced back, finding success as one-half of the reunited Pacific Connection! With his partner earning a individual title shot, Banging entered the annual American Dream Battle Royal, emerging a surprise winner to set up a belated rematch! The dominant champ wasn't quite prepared for the voracity of Banging's challenge! He was able to dig deep, earning a solid win.
4. Jammer2Omega & Porygonix defeated "The Invasion" Jason_Voorhees & edge in a close fought match! [+1]
In recent months the Duo Division has been dominated by a select few teams. So when a new tandem attempted to challenge the champions: Jason_Voorhees & edge took immediate offense! Unhappy that The Invasion presumed to represent Duo Division contention: Jammer2Omega & Porygonix stepped into a three-way feud that inevitably led them to The Invasion at Supercard 96! The two teams proved remarkably well matched, worthy of their status as two of the most respected Duo contenders in the league! At the end of the grueling brawl, it was J2O & Porygonix whose desire was just that little bit better served! They would have to wait until later in the night to see what would become of the Duo Division Champions when Jerrod & SubMan799 went for gold.
3. Statix, The_Hurricane & Violent`J defeated "The Invasion" DaemonX, Shen_DuHBK & AlbertBeefcake in a solid victory! [+2]
Statix & The_Hurricane probably thought they had the upperhand when they challenged DaemonX to a contest of trios. Arriving first in the arena, they were soon joined by surprise third-man and one-time Invasion fighter: Violent`J! The advantage quickly faded into insignificance when DaemonX introduced his unannounced partners: AlbertBeefcake and Shen_DuHBK! Albert disappeared while investigating The Invasion just before Supercard 93, which led Statix to take over the investigation, and begin a search for Albert. Their reunion was baffling as Albert showed his former friends nothing but aggression! It wasn't enough to earn The Invasion a victory in the match -- but the mental impact of his return clearly took tis toll on three shellshocked ICWW alum!
2. Baraka_MK & MKMaster defeated "Brexiteers" Liam & nif in a comprehensive result. [+2]
Since pairing up at Pre-Show 93: Baraka_MK & MKMaster have developed into one of the most exciting new combinations in the Duo Division! It was only a matter of time before The Brexiteers came calling to cut them off. There have been no shortcuts for Liam & nif, who've risen through the ranks through hard work and determination. Alas; that wasn't enough to suppress the pure energy propelling the dynamic new duo of BMK & MKM! They celebrated the win, but would be watching BMK's former teammates as they attempted to do what they couldn't by beating Mark & Leroy!
1. "Red Reign" Sekktor, redman & legoslayer10 defeated "The Invasion" Jauger, WilliamRegal & TripleH in a comprehensive victory! [+3]
Sekktor left this week's Monday Night Games furious with The Invasion's recent incursion on the weekly programme. Having missed out on Royal Roulette qualification at Pre-Show 96 (and Monday), Sekktor led Red Reign teammates redman & legoslayer10 in an intense contest of trios against Invasion pawns: Jauger, WilliamRegal & TripleH! The victory sent a strong message to The Invasion pawns, but their ringleader Loopster would escape reprisal, still to appear in the Royal Roulette match later in the night.

Supercard 81: Royal Roulette
It takes considerable will and determination to become a great champion. Only those willing to sacrifice in the pursuit of this goal can ever truly hope to influence the course of their destiny. With enough hard work, one may achieve the glory they single-mindedly seek. Yet - in every success there is an element of chance! A gathering of intangible forces collectively known as "luck". These particles are unseen and unheard - but they echo and flash in the snapshots of history!
July 18, 2011: Genku eliminates Mimik to become the first winner of the Royal Roulette match!
July 15, 2012: Ratt eliminates Genku, using Royal Roulette to win the Duo Division titles!
July 14, 2013: Kron draws #30 to score the final three eliminations and steal Royal Roulette!
July 20. 2014: ElJobber enters #16 and endures 49 minutes 23 seconds to win Royal Roulette!
July 19, 2015: VenoMark ends lucky #16 Hokey's run to claim the 2015 Royal Roulette match!
In the hallowed halls of The Great Arena, eventually every combatant plays a game of chance! To date, five different champions have won Royal Roulette. Countless dozens have failed. In the seventh month of every year, the wheel must be spun. Thirty fighters - some relying on luck, others on will and determination. Place your bets - the game is about to start! This is Supercard 81: Royal Roulette!
10. "The Hitman" DECEPTION (c) defeated VenoMark [+1] [Undisputed Championship]
Their rivalry goes back as far as 2014, when the battle to be King of the Death Match meant a life or death battle! VenoMark was the sole survivor at Tournament 48, but it's fair to say DECEPTION has gradually leveraged that star making moment to find enduring success. As the face of a "New Generation", DECEPTION has claimed the spotlight of 2016 - but in the periphery, VenoMark has been carving out a path to the Undisputed Championship! Having re-staked his claim on July 22nd, the time was ripe for last year's Royal Roulette winner to finally take back the gold! The only problem: the laser-like focus of "The Hitman" Champion! DECEPTION once again proved that he has arrived at the premiere level, summoning an outstanding performance! It was a great battle, but fate would have it that no titles would change hands at Royal Roulette 2016!
9. United: Hokey (#23) eliminated United: Artanix (#30) to win Royal Roulette!

16. TonyTheTiger (#11) elim. Ken (#17)
17. TonyTheTiger (#11) elim. nav-gone (#18)
18. TonyTheTiger (#11) elim. __-Standards-__ (#19)
19. CaTigeReptile (#24) elim. Loopster (#21)
20. Damo (#20) elim. Murdoink (#26)
21. Hokey (#23) elim. DeathScepter (#28)
22. Mime (#25) elim. DArqueBishop (#27)
23. Damo (#20) elim. Mimik (#22)
24. Hokey (#23) elim. Damo (#20)
25. ElJobber (#29) elim. TonyTheTiger (#11)
26. Artanix (#30) elim. ElJobber (#29)
27. Artanix (#30) elim. CaTigeReptile (#24)
28. Hokey (#23) elim. Mime (#25)
29. Hokey (#23) elim. Artanix (#30)A customary hush of silent anticipation filled the arena for the Royal Roulette match. Even with 10 confirmed qualifiers, nobody had any way of knowing who would enter, or when. As the bell sounded: DemoniaX and The Alliance's Jauger emerged as starting opponents!
Just 90 seconds into the match things kicked into a higher gear as Shoe made a surprise return from his June injury! #4 entrant Miller made an immediate impact by eliminating Jauger, and then formed a temporary alliance with DemoniaX to work against Shoe, before turning on her for a second exit!
Miller managed to avoid Shoe, who entered into an all out war with #6 entrant Chromatose! The non-stop assault led to an early elimination. Shoe then took Ottis out immediately after! #8 Politics let Shoe turn his attentions to Miller as he began to rack up a streak that soon claimed brandogg and Politics immediately after, as well! This left the comeback fighter alone to greet each incoming entrant before swiftly sending them away!
Shoe finally met his match in #11 TonyTheTiger! The Pre-Show 81 qualifier shared the space with Shoe for a while, but The Predator would not be denied. As he did in the UGP Battle Royal, TTT took complete control with a savaging of the field! nightbreed_16 came in at a serendipitous #16, but was the first to face TonyTheTiger alone - and be swiftly eliminated! Even King of the World Ken could only last 94 seconds! __-Standards-__ went a paltry 14 seconds, exiting more than a minute before his teammate Damo arrived at #20!
Damo's arrival signalled an escalation in the match, but it wasn't going to be The Service Krew who were the dominating team. #26 Murdoink became the first to find out there was a conspiracy going on right before everybody's eyes! Shoe may've exited early, but Mime began working with Mimik! The United's mastermind manager DArqueBishop came in at #27 - only to be greeted by the fists of his new star recruit! Hokey paused to converse with Mimik & Mime, and then #30 Artanix entered to confirm what was fast becoming apparent. The United has reformed a version of its new line-up!
DeathScepter and DArqueBishop were fast victims of the revelation. Amidst the chaos of The United's savaging of the field, Damo managed to thin the heard by taking out Mimik! "The Chosen One" would last seven more minutes in the all-out melee before Hokey would capitalize on his team's handiwork. TonyTheTiger and "The Guardian" CaTigeReptile became impromptu allies as they tried to fight back the tide, but it was fruitless. When ElJobber went for his qualifying foe CTR, he took out TTT. When ElJobber succumbed to The United, CTR was right behind him - alone with three members of The United in the final four for just 5 seconds!
The United three circled in the middle of the arena. When Hokey was fired from The United, he and Mime had briefly reconnected at the Spring Classic, before again parting ways. Their past as a duo wouldn't produce any favourtism against Artanix as The United competed for the Royal Roulette title. In fact, it was their competitive history that came to the fore again - excited by the sport of testing each other! Hokey got the better of Mime at the 1 hour 5 minute mark! He only needed 43 more seconds to finish Artanix! The win grants Hokey an individual title shot, but also puts the power firmly in the hands of the reorganized United! What they do with that power is the question!
8. "Team Xtreme" Marz & Violent`J (c) defeated CCShadow & Scott-Howell in a competitive match. [+1] [Duo Division Championship]
With Ratt using his Mid-Year Grand Slam tournament win to challenge Team Xtreme to a match at All-Star Summer Showdown, it was up to Tower of Power XVI dominators CCShadow & Scott-Howell to determine if it would be a Duo Division Championship match! They successfully defended their title shot at Pre-Show 81, but even their 8-1 record of the past two events paled in comparison to Marz & Violent`J's unprecedented 273 days as unbeaten champions! CCShadow & Scott-Howell brought their A-game to Royal Roulette, far exceeding their performance at Pre-Show 75! The champions found themselves tested, but still phenomenally well equipped to deal with the challenge! In a stunning performance they outlasted the challengers, extending their record with a twelfth title defense! This means the only team to ever defeat them in their entire Great Arena career is Ratt & NightHawk! Will they finally meet their match on August 21st? The answer will wait at what is shaping up to be a spectacular 2016 All-Star Summer Showdown!
7. Statix (c) defeated "The Fallen" LordSkarlet in a decisive victory. [+2] [KFL Championship]
After reaching the Semi Final of the Mid-Year Grand Slam, LordSkarlet had rushed into a challenge for the KFL Championship. Having learned from his mistakes, he opted to put a freeze on the title picture after earning a second title shot from the July 4th American Dream Battle Royal! Success would no doubt silence the critics who spoke out against him, but success has been difficult to find against the reign of Statix! The challenger fell at the worst possible moment, overwhelmed by the heavyweight assault of Statix! A bad night for The Fallen, but a decisive victory to keep the gold firmly within the grasp of The Alliance!
6. The Great Genku defeated The_Purple_Bunny in a comprehensive victory! [+6]
A dark cloud hung over The Great Arena as Genku entered to fight The_Purple_Bunny in a #1 contenders match. He was full of piss and vinegar, having already beaten TPB at Pre-Show 81, and been announced as the Royal Roulette title challenger - until VenoMark flipped the script on the title picture during the July 22nd Friday Night Fights! TPB was like a deer in headlights as Genku blew up - completely bamboozling his opponent! A comprehensive win means The Great Genku is once again the #1 contender, but with All-Star Summer Showdown still a month away - a lot could happen between now and then!
5. avenger45 (c) defeated G0LD in a competitive debut! [+1] [Division 2 Championship]
avenger45 was considered a surprising Division 2 Champion emerging from Tournament 69, so it was only fitting he'd have a surprise opponent in his first defense! Cryptic messages throughout the month of July announced the coming of a new competitor: "You Will Remember His Name", "He is Worth His Weight", "The Rush Starts With Him", "He Is The Standard". It all became clear with the stunning debut of exciting new acquisition: G0LD! The audience was in awe as G0LD attacked the champ with the expertise of an experienced pro! avenger45 was surprised, but prepared - fighting the tide of momentum behind his unknown foe! G0LD may have lost in the unprecedented debut, but one thing was true: history will remember his name!
4. "The Invasion" DaemonX & Banging defeated "The New Generation" Baraka_MK & Onryo in a good win. [+1]
It was the boastful claims of Loopster that originally brought The New Generation to Monday Night [7/11/2016], intent on defending the name of their teammate DECEPTION! Their fast victory may've shut Loopster up, but it clearly ruffled the feathers of The Invasion higher-ups! The hot team of 2016 brought the fight to DaemonX & Banging, but The Invasion showed that they've been quietly honing their Duo Division craft. The new leaders of The Invasion earned an impressive win!
3. "The Alliance" AlbertBeefcake & The_Hurricane defeated "The Fallen" UlcaTron & Corrupt hydraslash in a comprehensive win! [+2]
Heat between The Fallen and The Alliance has been growing steadily as an extension of LordSkarlet's quest to take the KFL Championship from Alliance hero: Statix. Coming off of a missed contender's opportunity at Pre-Show 81; UlcaTron & Corrupt hydraslash were hungry for a win. Alas; the veteran Alliance team put together an amazing offense, shutting The Fallen down in a bad omen for the KFL title match later in the night!
2. "Italian Cyclone" Shen_DuHBK defeated ShawnMichaels in a narrow victory! [+1]
Shen_DuHBK was an important get for ShawnMichaels' Invasion way back in February. In gratitude, ShawnMichaels granted his star recruit a KFL title match on the very first edition of Monday Night Invasion. There was no love lost when Shen_DuHBK turned on his would-be leader, joining The European Union at Pre-Show 81 in a match that ultimately exiled ShawnMichaels from Monday nights! Revenge was the order of Britain, but ShawnMichaels' nightmare run was to continue, The Italian Cyclone once again just a fraction too good!
1. Benjamin defeated "The Secret Weapon" SubScorpTile in a comprehensive win! [+5]
The irresistible force of competition brought 2016 arch-rivals Benjamin and SubScorpTile back into each other's orbits! Separating them has been difficult, especially since both are fighting to get back to the Division 2 Championship. It was all Benjamin at Royal Roulette as The Secret Weapon failed to engage in a comprehensive beating! A win that puts Benjamin right at the forefront of the division!
July 18, 2011: Genku eliminates Mimik to become the first winner of the Royal Roulette match!
July 15, 2012: Ratt eliminates Genku, using Royal Roulette to win the Duo Division titles!

Their rivalry goes back as far as 2014, when the battle to be King of the Death Match meant a life or death battle!

Supercard 9: Royal Roulette!
July 17, 2011 -- Every battle is its own gamble! On any given day, a warrior can succumb to the inevitable, for no man lives forever! In recent months, contenders have risen and fallen, but one man has stood steadfast, determined to challenge immortality like never before.
Cr0w is the Undisputed Champion -- a fighter who has relinquished his hold on The Great Arena itself, turning his powers toward the pages of history. Never before has there been a Champion who has defended the title four times, reigning over three entire months! Never before has there been a Champion who bested all who challenged him, possessing the grandest prize of them all for a cumulative one hundred days! If Cr0w proves victorious once again, he will be the first one to defy these impossible expectations, and hit the jackpot on one very big gamble!
ElJobber is one of thirteen fighters who will roll the dice for a shot at glory this day. One of the most enduring and respected figures in The Great Arena, he holds a long forgotten victory over this Champion! He may have failed in his only previous attempt at the Undisputed Championship, at Supercard 4, but has tackled every demon head-on and defeated them accordingly. ElJobber is not immortal, but if his gambit pays off, he will join Cr0w in history.
Twelve competitors will be waiting to take ElJobber or Cr0w's place! Genku, Mimik, Shoe, Toryn, m0s, Hokey, Ninja_Mime, Ghostdragon, Pink_Ranger, CaTigeReptile, Chiefin and a final unknown competitor will spin the wheel in a Battle Royal that will name a number one contender.
Like flickering black and red squares -- champion, challenger, and contender blur together as the wheel of fate spins ever faster. Who will continue to reap the rewards of their gamble of life and death? Who will emerge victorious in this game of Royal Roulette?
12. Cr0w (c) d. ElJobber in a Championship defense!
As one of the few to hold a victory over Cr0w, the challenger may have had a slight psychological edge from their 1-1 history. Despite owning that win from Supercard 3, ElJobber still faced the daunting claim of a fourteen-match winning streak that has propelled Cr0w into the record books as the longest reigning Undisputed Champion -- eighty-one days and counting from three defenses! Whether he knew it or not, ElJobber was also accused of an act most unsavory by Tyrant-Cenobite -- a claim that would threaten to taint any success at Supercard 9!
ElJobber's ability to rise to the challenge of the top tier has earned him the status of 'conscience' to The Great Arena, versus Ratt's tried and true 'heart'. Certainly, he was able to threaten accountability to a Champion who has remained confident as the platinum standard of competition! Never the less, that platinum standard would remain undisturbed, ElJobber suffering the same fate as Ratt in a high level challenge that saw Cr0w remain truly Undisputed as Champion!
Cr0w adds an incredible fourth defense to his run as Undisputed Champion, but now faces perhaps the biggest challenge of his reign! Genku will have two opportunities to snatch the title as Supercard 10: Tower of Power II is announced for July 31! The event will grant the unofficial top ten rankins equal opportunity to battle to the top of the ladder, where Cr0w will wait to defend the title to the best! Then, August 14, Genku gets a one-on-one shot against the Champ at Supercard 11: All-Star Summer Showdown! A massive Championship schedule for a Champion whose reign is equally big!
11. Genku (#10) d. Mimik (#8) to win Battle Royal!
With a guaranteed one-on-one shot at the Undisputed Championship in August -- twelve of The Great Arena's brightest entered the contender scramble with plenty to fight for! Extra-Arena activity meant it was a very satisfying elimination when Toryn sent Shoe packing just ten seconds after Shoe's entrance! The abrupt beginning had everyone in the Arena talking as Toryn enjoyed eighty seconds of preparation time -- but the significance of Shoe's early exit would not be felt until much later in the rumble!
Chiefin (#2) did well to endure against Toryn's best blows, but proved his freak fighting ability has its limits, the second out of the match as Pink_Ranger (#3) made her entrance. The Duo Division would feature heavily as Ninja_Mime (#5) and Hokey (#6) entered the fray early, even indulging in a little inter-champion tustle of their own with a shot at the Undisputed Championship too tantalizing to deny! It was a long fourteen minutes before a third man would exit, m0s unlucky against Ghostdragon (#6)!
Nine fighters duked it out for the right to be #1 contender when the unannounced twelfth man made an appropriately dramatic entrance as #12! Back from the afterlife for a second time, The_Purple_Bunny would have to wait for payback against the man who killed him (Shoe), taking his chance at a Championship match as a welcome consolation!
The_Purple_Bunny survived a dense, competitive field to meet the final four of enduring #2 Toryn, and hot favourites, Genku (#10) and Mimik (#8)! Toryn was the first man to faulter, Genku's second elimination from the event! The_Purple_Bunny would be tenth out, claimed by a powerful Mimik who enjoyed a total four eliminations! It truly seemed as if the momentum was with Mimik, but Genku was able to battle his way into a commanding position, absorbing Mimik's final blows to become the official #1 contender for August!
10. SubMan799 & Casselman d. Scott-Howell & Murdoink
They may be considered the first true "Duo" of The Great Arena, but the lustre of "Sugar" Scott-Howell & Murdoink's team efforts has begun to wear off in recent months. A shock First Round exit from Tournament 6 has seemingly exposed weaknesses in Howell & Murdoink's power plan: a fact ready to be capitalized upon by a team who has been chasing them for a long time now -- SubMan799 & Casselman!
The tide seemed destined to continue turning as SubMan799 & Casselman put the screws to their long awaited rivals. Despite being a well contested encounter, the battle seems sure to propel the winners toward the Duo Division Championships, while Scott-Howell & Murdoink face new scrutiny and tensions as their win/loss record begins to flatten.
9. STEROLIZER d. Ratt in a shocking close fought result!
Despite wearing a +11 impact at Supercard 8; STEROLIZER has been quick to claim the challenging ranks simply aren't up to snuff as would-be Undisputed Champions! Scoffing Ratt's loss to record setting reigning champion, Cr0w, at SC8, the biggest ego of The Great Arena remains convinced it should be him who is at the top of the fighting table!
By all rights, the challenge should have been a day at the office for Ratt, but even the very best have their off days! It was to the shock and awe of all watching that STEROLIZER stumbled his way into the biggest win of his usually unsuccessful career, capitalizing on a woeful performance by an over confident and ailed Ratt! STEROLIZER's third career win is sure to only fuel his delusions of grandeur, but on record, will always show that he cleanly beat the former Undisputed Champion in a narrow fought win! Shocking!
8. Jammer2Omega d. Ken in a close result!
Fast asserting himself as the face of the "Next Phase" of top challengers; Jammer2Omega had plenty to fight for, but very little pressure riding on his performance against seasoned veteran of The Great Arena, Ken! Ken delivered a convincing Pre-Show 9 victory against DECEPTION, but has shouldered the weight of several losses in recent months, including defeats at the hands of relative newcomer and "Next Phase" fighting prodigy, Chiefin!
J2O experienced the opposite to Ken in his dust-up with Toryn at Pre-Show 9, but still performed like a pro under Supercard conditions! Ken could not be counted out from the scrap that saw the pair meet in high level close quarters combat, but Jammer2Omega had a little extra in his percentages to bring to the battle. It was a fantastic close fought match, but alas, Ken once again walks into the sunset with mixed fortunes. Jammer2Omega, on the other hand, has bright horizons as he continues his "Next Phase" quest to usher in a new era in the fighting ranks!
7. DeathScepter & DaMo d. DECEPTION & Onryo in a comprehensive duo win.
Representing the upper echelon of Duo Division competition, DeathScepter & DaMo have been the rising upstarts, capping off their impressive performances with a Semi Final berth in the Championship crowning Tournament 6! Despite an impressive win/loss history, DECEPTION & Onryo were one of the early exits, and keen to reassert themselves against their slightly less accomplished, but bouyant competition!
The down-on-their-luck duo of DECEPTION & Onryo would have to delay designs to take the Championships, comprehensively done away with by the bizarre and unpredictable duo of DeathScepter & DaMo! Despite falling short during Tournament 6 against eventual winners (and short-lived champions), Pink_Ranger & Ghostdragon -- DeathScepter & DaMo must be considered legitimate contenders for a shot at the gold!
6. Kairyu d. Shizuma in a close fought battle.
Shizuma fared considerably better than Kairyu in the all-woman Supercard 7 Battle Royal just two months ago. Despite this, it was an evenly matched pair to face-off in this intriguing encounter. Both possessing a certain mystique that has made them near cult figures in The Great Arena, they fought well with no clear outcome guaranteed. It was, however, to be Kairyu who battled out of the close encounter to gain a valuable victory!
5. TonyTheTiger d. Tyrant-Cenobite in +8 decimation!
It was back in April that Tyrant-Cenobite suffered a surprising attack that took him out of contention for the Supercard 4: Ultimate Grand Prix Battle Royal! He claims he knows who did it, and has even teased that one of the respectable heroes of The Great Arena is actually harboring the assault as a dark secret -- but refuses to reveal who! Keen to get long overdue answers, TonyTheTiger enters The Great Arena with a simple interrogation plan -- fight to get to the truth!
A staggering +8 achieved the desired result as TonyTheTiger unleashed an utter decimation on his opponent! Considerably worse for wear, Tyrant-Cenobite dropped a bombshell ahead of the main event, revealing ElJobber as the man responsible for the unprompted attack at Supercard 4! What implications lie ahead remain to be seen as ElJobber contends the Undisputed Championship in the same night he is finally exposed!
4. Dolce d. NovaStarr in a near draw grudge bout!
Unsuccessful in a Supercard 8 tandem effort to gain a grudge win over Dolce -- NovaStarr returned to The Great Arena with hopes of exacting a solo win over her rival. The bitter encounter between the two sparked off at Supercard 7 where the ladies of the Arena clashed in an all-out Battle Royal!
In a shockingly close battle, the pair fought to a near stand-still! By every right imaginable the bout should have been called a draw, if not for the grit and deterimation under fire shown by Dolce! Living to fight another day, it seems unlikely kororaa can possibly let this battle go unreprised, a fiery competitor with so much to prove, and a margin that simply doesn't eliminate her from the equation! Another classic blockbuster for the ages!
3. Artanix & foahchon d. Jerrod & MINION
It seemed as if unpredictability would give Jerrod & MINION the edge against their more experienced opponents, Artanix & foahchon. Alas; everything went according to plan for the more seasoned combination, a Duo who have both experienced the edge of oblivion, only to return as one of the darling combos of the burgeoning Duo Division! It was a surprisingly confident Artanix & foahchon who put away their foes, earning a much needed victory in their marathon chase of the Championships!
2. Liam & nif d. Mark & Leroy in a narrow result!
Two of the newest entrants into the booming Duo Division -- the combinations of Liam & nif and Mark & Leroy proposed a far more evenly matched contest than the trial by fire contests they've been inducted through! Indeed, it was a close fought encounter, anyone's to win, right down to the line! In the end, it was Liam & nif who emerged victorious, turning the success tables on their T6 First Round winning counterparts! A great battle!
1. Porygonix d. kororaa in a comprehensive +5 win!
Kron and DigbyRigby had originally been scheduled to meet for the first time at Supercard 9, but events outside The Great Arena brought their fighting lives to a surprising pause during the week. Replacing them would be Porygonix and kororaa -- partners in combat hoping to honor and pay tribute to their fallen allies.
Did it reflect the outcome of the schedule event? We may never know. Porygonix unleashed an attack far more modest than is known of Kron's usual, but was enough to secure a comprehensive win over DigbyRigby's short-lived Duo Division partner, kororaa. Circumstances may have seen one of The Great Arena's most prominent figures fade into the afterlife, but in his place arises Porygonix once again -- a combatant who once showed great promise, again a potential proponent of the next phase!
Cr0w continues to meet every challenge he's confronted with as he charges toward a reign as Undisputed Champion that may never be challenged! ElJobber is far from disgraced in defeat even if Tyrant-Cenobite has other ideas, but must tumble down the unofficial ranks as Genku emerges the new official #1 contender! Championships shape the upper tier more than ever as Hokey & Ninja_Mime emerged from Tournament 6 and Pre-Show 9 with accolades to spare, a partnership fit for two tickets to the top as Duo Division Champions!
Victory in T6 keeps Pink_Ranger in the top stakes, while Ghostdragon loiters just outside the count, lacking the solo success to repel a convincing case made by DeathScepter (and DaMo). The_Purple_Bunny returns from the afterlife looking refreshed, but not nearly as much so as fellow deadite, Mimik, who made his revenge pact a platform for top two status!
DaMo, Jammer2Omega, Ken, DECEPTION and Onryo all cry out for honorable mentions as they clamor just outside the top ten! Opportunities will be abound as various members of The Next Phase get an opportunity to improve their position in an exciting sixty-four person tournament! Tournament 7 will be sure to send a ripple through the unofficial stack before competition is solidifed July 31st in the return of the Tower of Power (last seen deciding a new champion at Supercard 5)!
The Great Arena is heating up as July packs in a whole lot of competition before August blows the top off of the Summer! Sixty-four fighters will line up in single elimination brackets for Tournament 7: The Next Phase -- a bracket that will guarantee a first-time winner from a field of some of the uncrowned brightest of competition! Then, at tournament's conclusion, Pre-Show 10: Tower II Qualification will reshape the unofficial top ten and pit remaining competitors against each other for six available challenger slots!
Pre-Show 10 is July 24 ahead of the return of one of the most compelling Championship situations The Great Arena has ever seen! July 31 will see seven challengers and ten contenders battle it out for the chance to be Undisputed Champion at Supercard 10: Tower of Power II! Cr0w waits at the top of the unofficial ranks as they fend off the Challenger 7, before eliminating each other in a climb for the gold! All this and more -- stay tuned!
ElJobber's ability to rise to the challenge of the top tier has earned him the status of 'conscience' to The Great Arena, versus Ratt's tried and true 'heart'. Certainly, he was able to threaten accountability to a Champion who has remained confident as the platinum standard of competition!
