Pre-Show 13: Highway to Hell!

September 25, 2011 -- As the Night of Barons drew to a close, the chosen would leave in defeat, their crusade against oppressors thwarted. Kron learned in his time beyond of more than was being spoken by these oppressors, who scheme and manipulate to maintain their tenuous grip on power. Dedicated to the fight for a free and glorious future, he remains steadfast in defeat, bolstered by all that he has learned in his long career. With hope seemingly lost, he holds on to a final trump card. A whispered name as much an ancient force of nature as a final vessel of hope for those who disprove Ares Menschlich's claim that the people are too greedy and feeble to do what's right.

The Great Arena continues, where competition within the fighting league dares to prove everything Ares Menschlich proclaims to be right. Contenders walk this path with a view to confirm their place in the pantheon of winners, the illustrious few who have reigned over their fellows. Ratt prepares for the chance to make history; Pink_Ranger & Ghostdragon chase their second shot at glory; The_Purple_Bunny & Blaze arrive for something new; Mimik looks to even the score on the back of a moral victory -- the only one to have struck one of the Barons down!

While the people compete, Kron reaches deep into the past. He calls to the name that ruled over an arena not unlike this one, many years ago. He ignores the warnings of Nomads, who feuded with the spirit, only to watch it consume and destroy all who crossed its path. At Supercard 13, the Spirit will be unleashed. This is the final moment before his return. This is the Highway to Hell...

0. Kron announced the coming of a "Spirit of Vengeance" to deal with Ares Menschlich!
Kron's crusade against the Four Barons of Lord Mislukking has been a gruelling contest for the "chosen" fighters who've joined his cause. Despite the conquering nature of Lord Mislukking's arrival in the Cheevment Kingdom, a working peace has been found by some, who would happily live in squalor amidst the ruins of what could have been a magnificent place. Kron returned from the world beyond with the revelation that Ares Menschlich had manipulated the powers-that-be, encouraging them to act in strange and spiteful ways that defied the logic of circumstances. Some would be fine with this, but Kron, willing to make the difficult decision, chose to challenge these flawed and unimpressive conditions. With the information he was presented, he made the call that had to be made -- a change had to come!

Despite his best efforts to quash the oppresive malaise inflicted on the Cheevment Kingdom, his efforts proved fruitless. Now, returning from defeat at Supercard 12: Night of the Barons, he arrived in The Great Arena to reveal his trump card -- the kind of accountability only conceivable in mysticism and occult consequence. Drawing upon the contacts he had made and the knowledge he had gained, he announced the coming of a warrior who was thought to have faded away, many years ago.

Kron revealed he had made a pact with a force powerful enough to challenge even Lord Mislukking himself! Quoting an ancient name, he reached deep into the past, to a time before The Great Arena, when warriors did battle for pride and glory. Having conversed with The Nomad -- a former Champion and rival whose words were of warning -- Kron learned the necessary secrets to inspire the "Spirit of Vengeance" to return. With finger extended metaphorically toward the callous Baron of War, as if casting accusation upon him, he made his intentions known. Ares Menschlich had done a terrible thing to the people of The Union of The Human League. Incensed by the indignation of his actions and his unwillingness to repent, Kron issued a final proclamation -- "Michael Lucifer is coming!"

15. Blaze & The_Purple_Bunny d. Pink_Ranger & Ghostdragon in a comprehensive +2 win!
Representing two of the major percentage players of the Duo Division; former Champions, Pink_Ranger & Ghostdragon, were the perfect pairing to pit against whirlwind Next Phase challengers, Blaze & The_Purple_Bunny! PR & GD outlasted their counterparts as runners-up to the title holders in the Tournament 9: Grand Slam [Doubles] Final, but would struggle to claim an expected win against a duo with as much momentum as Blaze & TPB! Blaze has joined the ranks as one of the most active competitors in and out of the arena, blazing a trail towards a power far beyond her brief time within the ranks!

It had the makings of a main event blockbuster! The power exhibited by both teams reminded that they were in a class of their own! Pink_Ranger and Ghostdragon showed plenty of experience and skill in their approach to the fight, but the X-factor of Blaze's rising star, coupled with The_Purple_Bunny's own success as a Next Phase graduate (via Tournament 7 victory), seemed to give them an electricity their opponents couldn't match! Blaze & The_Purple_Bunny would not disgrace the former champs, but with a +2 impact and a decimating performance, they would well and truly declare themselves the #1 contenders to the Duo Division Championship!

Just as Ratt will face a difficult task against a dominant champion, so too will the Duo Division competitors! Hokey & Ninja_Mime remain a charmed combination, extending their own win streak with total victory over the T9 Grand Slam -- a rare honor above and beyond the DD title! It will be one compelling encounter as the Duo Division continues its white hot glow as the centrepiece of competition!

14. Ratt d. Bofh in a close fought match!
For five long months, "The Unstoppable" Cr0w has proven to be one of the most daunting tasks in The Great Arena! Reigning over the Undisputed Championship with a staggering twenty-five match win streak, including six Championship defenses and tournament wins in T5 and T8, there can be no greater test of a fighters worth than this challenge. Ratt will do exactly that, stepping into the spotlight to take a second shot at this phenomenal challenge. The renowned "Iron Man" missed out at Supercard 8 when he pulled up short in an epic encounter with Cr0w. Keen to prepare, he issues his famous Pre-Show Open Challenge to any fighter willing to go one-on-one with the fearless favourite!

It perhaps should have come as no shock that an old arch-rival would emerge to take advantage of the opportunity. "Big John" Bofh and Ratt have a history of dislike, and with Ratt's big Championship match just one week away, the chance to spoil Ratt's chances of glory, whilst boosting his own, were too rich for willing challenger!

As a fighter with far less reputation backing him, it seemed as if ambition would get the better of Bofh. Perhaps inspired by the surprising efforts of Vultyrex earlier in the card, Bofh took a serious fighter to the #1 contender, rising way above his weight class! The Iron Man found himself having to call upon every facet of endurance as he was ambushed by the quality of assault. Never once stopping to rue the self-made threat to his title hopes, Ratt fought tooth and nail, exhibiting the never say die attitude that has won him so many fans! The scare only adds to the pressure, however, of the long odds he'll face at Supercard 13, when he attempts to avoid becoming win number twenty-six, for Cr0w!

13. CCShadow & Scott-Howell d. Shoe & ShingoEX in a +6 decimation!
Responsible for turning his back on Murdoink at the end of Tournament 9; "Sugar" Scott-Howell has become a bitter "spice," uniting with old ally CCShadow to form a new union hot on the heels of his Supercard 12 solo victory. Having secretly reunited with CCShadow prior to the break-up; Howell moves forward, just as keen as his former teammate to rewrite his name in the contention stakes for the Duo Division Championships! In a classic case of one-upmanship, Howell immediately follows his former partner, clashing with the combination of former T4 winner, Shoe, and his partner, ShingoEX!

Shoe's descent continued as CCShadow & Scott-Howell made a bold declaration of their claim to the Duo Division, unleashing a whopping +6 impact on their hapless foes -- a decimation particularly significant in the two-man field! The win sends a clear message to Howell's former partner, the split pairings on an inevitable collision course as the days count down to Supercard 13!

12. Murdoink & Baraka_MK d. Tyrant-Cenobite & queve by a narrow margin!
The Night of the Barons delivered a demoralizing blow to the efforts of Kron and his "chosen four," but Supercard 12 would go down in history for destroying more than the hopes of rebels. Since the beginning of the Duo Division in March, at Supercard 3, the combination of Scott-Howell and Murdoink have been regarded fondly as the original Great Arena team. Difficulties to convert since the induction of Championships caused tensions between the fan-favourite combo, and after forging an otherwise impressive career as one of the top teams, they ended as they began, fueding!

From the ashes of the fan-favourite combo comes two new teams, spitefully formed in opposite as Murdoink finds an old friend and ally in elusive Great Arena stalwart, Baraka_MK! Keen to make an impact as soon as possible, they clash with Tyrant-Cenobite & queve, each still wearing the bruises of their encounters with ElJobber, but keen to bounce back in their own quest to find success within the two-man ranks.

The dreams of Tyrant & queve would have to wait as debuting favourites made their first official statement of intent, registering a close fought victory! Murdoink & Baraka_MK will no doubt enter the fiercely competitive world of the Duo Division with the ever elusive Championships reflected in one eye, but as would quickly become evident, they would have competition from rivals...

11. Mimik d. Vultyrex in a close fought match!
Without a doubt the biggest upset claimed during Tournament 8: Grand Slam [Singles]; Mimik had a lot to prove in a grudge bout rematch with his First Round opponent, Vultyrex! Snuffed out in the Second Round by Poasty, it seemed as if Vultyrex was indeed going to remain filed under "shock winner," unable to sustain a measure of success against more moderate opponents than the high ranked contender. Or at least, that's what everyone thought, until the pair stepped onto the Highway to Hell for another go around!

Despite bouncing back at Supercard 12 with a promising victory (the only one struck for "the good guys") against the Baroness of Pestilence, Praga Conquette -- Mimik would once again be tested by the unassuming challenge of Vultyrex! Locked up in mortal combat, Mimik showed the unmistakable signs of fatigue associated with the dreaded P-Virus, but even with his afflictions considered, was again a shock sparring partner for the otherwise low tier fighter. With the glory of the Night of Barons win dangerously close from slipping from his fingers, Mimik rallied to pull victory from his unlikely nemesis! The win no doubt gets a monkey off Mimik's back, keeping him in the running for bigger and better things as promised by his heroic triumph against Pestilence, but an element of doubt must surely remain for this one-time runner-up to the Undisputed Championship.

10. SlumDunk d. STEROLIZER in a close fought match!
Never one to be overshadowed by even the highest ranked competitors, STEROLIZER returns to The Great Arena with no uncertainty about his goals to keep any rising stars in check. Having been the progenetor for the Battle for the Bottom pasttime, STERO was not about to allow SlumDunk the opportunity to overtake him on a path to success he blazed many moons ago. Intent on proving his total superiority over the recently risen bottom ranker (who beat giandavil at Pre-Show 12), STERO boldly predicts MAX Damage for his opponent. Oh, STERO...

Undeniably close matched, it would be one of those days for STEROLIZER. Ever the proclaimer of bold delusions of grandeur, STEROLIZER's self-aggrandizing was about to bite him in the "bottom" in the worst way. Riding his recent success, SlumDunk rebuked STERO's attempts at domination, far from a passive customer in a maximum impact car wreck! Despite the bold prophecy against his name, SlumDunk indeed fought through the tie to score another victory over his predecesor!

9. m0s & Nemesis316 d. Liam & nif in a comprehensive +4 win!
It was at Tournament 9: Grand Slam [Doubles] that Nemesis316 joined the fighting ranks with a team-up that has produced incredible results! m0s & Nemesis316 made an impact with their run to the Semi Final stages of T9, but with competition in the Duo Division as white hot as ever, would still need to put in the hard work if they were to earn for themselves a shot at the covetted DD Titles!

A team with less bombastic results, but no less ambition, has been Liam & nif -- a tandem of fellows whose opinions of themselves haven't quite matched up with the rate of success that resulted in a modest First Round exit from the Duo Division "Doubles" Tournament! Eager to snuff the flame of a rising competitor to their own advantage, Liam & nif gladly rise to the challenge of a Pre-Show encounter against "Mr. Daruma" and the percentage playing newcomer, Nemesis316.

The ensuing battle would be akin to an execution -- a one-sided affair totally owned by the hopeful contenders, m0s & Nemesis316! Unleashing a rare decimation upon their tandem opponents that finished with a +4 impact, the combo showed clear signs of Championship potential! Liam & nif nurse their wounds, but with a Duo Division contender match at the end of the Highway to Hell, m0s & Nemesis316 begin making plans for the future!

8. giandavil and Queequeg fought to a complete standstill!
Intrigue typically dictates that the top of the card be dominated by the most successful fighters, but as has become a phenomenon of the Pre-Show experience, it is the Battle for the Bottom that has opened up a strange new world of bizarre intrigue! With several bottom ranking fighters turned over, it was up to giandavil to challenge his nearest rival, Queequeg, for the chance to salvage dignity and success from a flagging career. giandavil inherited his charge at Pre-Show 12, where SlumDunk broke a losing streak of 0-8! Possessing a record half as embarassing as SD's (0-4), giandavil could only hope to take his own destiny in his hand, and make a fate of overdue success.

In theory, the object of any fight, is to win. In the most spectacular of circumstances, the best giandavil could hope for, was to not lose! So totally and evenly matched, the two lowest ranked fighters would make mocking history, engaging in their Battle of the Bottom to a bitter draw! Unable to be separated from Queequeg; giandavil would take the bitter consolation of a tie, remaining the lowest ranked fighter by virtue of a weighted ranking system based on wins and losses. Queequeg, on the other hand, would rise from his draw, an added insult for the Bottom Battler! Better luck next time, giandavil!

7. ElJobber d. rxvt in a +13 destruction!
Once the favoured conscience of The Great Arena, ElJobber has become a very different fighter since accusations from Tyrant-Cenobite fingered him as rogue attacker! As if to fulfill the still as yet unsubstantiated claims of his accuser, and the philosophical antagonisms of Ares Menschlich; ElJobber has become an unconcerned menace to the ranks of The Union of the Human League! No longer an inspiring bridge between the top and bottom, ElJobber has become the "Iron Machine" to Ratt's "Iron Man," fighting to obtain the kind of MAX Damage he inflicted upon queve (Pre-Show 12), JoelKatz (Tournament 8: Third Round) and MINION (Tournament 8: Second Round)!

Ripe for his MAX Damage challenge; ElJobber pinpointed rxvt -- a member of Team Agaper who has experienced hard luck since the earliest days of The Great Arena. When ElJobber was allegedly launching a spiteful attack against Tyrant-Cenobite; rxvt was toiling away in a fruitless Supercard 4 grudge match, hoping to vent frustrations of a vital defeat, against Mark! If new frustrations were of any interest to rxvt, he'd find them in spades, avoiding the sting of the sought MAX Damage, but still forced to suffer a painful +13 impact against an opponent way above his class!

On the periphery of Championship contention, ElJobber moves forward with an unpredictable path! Hellbent on collecting maximum damage on his way to the ever elusive Undisputed Championship, he remains a member of The League in the pocket of the Baron of War, Ares Menschlich! Having tied up with anti-Mislukking activist, Kron, at All-Star Summer Showdown, you've got to wonder what part ElJobber will play when the recently returned revolutionary unveils his surprise trump card to strike back against the dominant Four Barons!

6. ZachAngel d. Leroy in a close fought match!
August has seen an escalation in tensions between the warring factions of Team Agaper and Team Ops -- groups loyal to ideals and associations specific to their collectives. The battle continues to be focused around the spiritual leaders of each group, but has spread to include others within their charge. Supercard 12 provided ZachAngel and Leroy an opportunity to continue the bitter ties with tandem partners in tow, but the fierce fight, won by Leroy & Mark, was but a Second Act stoking of the fires! Returning to The Great Arena, ZachAngel demanded opportunity to extract a singles win from Leroy, all the while tensions seemed to point to a fullscale war between the entirety of both teams!

To say Angelia's absence would be an unburdening for ZachAngel would be a gross under estimation of Angelia's fighting potential, but the leader of the fighting faithful was certainly able to call upon a greater power in his solo encounter. It cannot be said that this was a one-sided affair -- Leroy brought everything he had to the close fought encoutner, but ZachAngel had what was needed to go the distance! Despite being an impressive win, it seems clear neither team is about to back down any time soon!

5. plfx d. Shizuma & NightHawk in a narrow fought conclusion!
The Supercards may be reserved for the biggest stars and most heated feuds, but its the Pre-Show that provides a true preview of The Next Phase of contenders. With each developing a cult following for their own brand of grit and determination; Shizuma, NightHawk and plfx proposed an intriguing collective for an exhibition three-way battle. Shizuma and NightHawk are notable for having struggled to match their fond regard with competitive success, a contrast to plfx, who has developed quite a following through Pre-Show appearances that took him to a brief undefeated streak!

The trio proved incredibly well matched from the get-go, equal in their desire to pick up a valuable win under unique conditions. As tends to be the case in fights of this type, NightHawk was the first man to begin to falter. Despite his famous history with the match type, which included victory at Pre-Show 9 and a major rematch at the All-Star Summer Showdown, NightHawk could not hold up against the mounting assault of a similarly powered plfx! plfx continued the barrage, building momentum that saw him take a tense exchange of blows to Shizuma! The sparks flew, but when the embers died down, it was plfx who picked up another win in The Great Arena!

4. SmokeRulz d. brandogg in convincing fashion! [+2 Impact]
The Great Arena is the melting pot wherein combatants hone their craft and fight for immortality as they forge a legend. Sometimes, however, this Highway to Hell is paved with good old fashioned grudges, and that's exactly what spurred SmokeRulz to issue a challenge to an old acquaintance arriving in the Cheevment Kingdom. Making his debut with the league, brandogg was an old enemy, a firebrand torturer who SmokeRulz owed more than a few points of impact to. Having sharpened his skills as a three-way fight specialist, SmokeRulz was a fighter unfamiliar to his one-time nemesis. brandogg, completely out of his depth under the intense conditions of The Great Arena, paled in comparison to SmokeRulz! The league rookie had no answers for SR's attack, suffering +2 damage and an overdue defeat! The win, while not SmokeRulz' most impressive, etches an important moment in his progression as fights beyond The Next Phase to join the pantheon of stalwarts in the upper ranks!

3. Jax d. sucka in a close fought match!
It is by decree of The Union of The Human League that active competitors be called upon at regularly schedule intervals to test their might, but the Cheevment Kingdom is a world in flux, filled with tension and disdain for the oppressive forces that fill it. Representing the inevitable 'extra corricular' bouts that break out, Jax and sucka arrive on the Highway to Hell to test their might against each other, having honed their skills by scoring cheevs and beating on minions! Still relatively green, the pair matched up well, but there would be no draw as Jax flexed some muscle to get the job done in a close fought match. A solid entry giving motion to the grunt ranks!

2. J-Spit d. bfk by a narrow margin!
With a cult following that's supported him to a string of victories, bfk looked like a safe bet when he stepped into The Great Arena with relative newcomer, J-Spit! The fight would be anything but academic, however, as the Grand Slam debut looked to avenge his First Round loss with an unexpected win! The pair proved incredibly evenly matched, but it was indeed J-Spit who was able to inch bfk out with an impressive display of endurance and strength! A surprising outcome, but far from the shock bombshell promised to hit competition courtesy of Kron!

1. nface d. UNdiscovered in convincing fashion! [+2 Impact]
With the Night of Barons passed, The Great Arena reopens to accomodate the fighting forces of The Union of the Human League! As hungry for glory as the most seasoned veteran, the likes of UNdiscovered and nface open proceedings, undaunted by the threats that hang over the thirteenth Pre-Show card!

Coming off a crushing grudge match debut at Pre-Show 12, UNdiscovered had plenty to prove in his subsequent return to competition. A relatively brief history positioned nface as the perfect patsy, but his few successes were enough to adequately prepare him for the rookie assault. nface looked comfortable as he dismissed his opponent, rising to an impressive +2 impact in the opening win!

Shock! Awe! Threat! Supercard 13: Spirit of Vengeance is coming!
Kron summons a powerful figure from the times before The Great Arena! Michael Lucifer arrives to do battle with Ares Menschlich, as the ideals of war and vengeance collide! PLUS: Ratt takes the ultimate test when he faces the most dominant Undisputed Champion history has ever seen -- "The Unstoppable" Cr0w! The Duo Division Championship goes on the line when The_Purple_Bunny & Blaze challenge dominant title holders in Hokey & Ninja_Mime! All this, plus much more!

Supercard 12: Night of the Barons!

September 18, 2011 -- It was the revelation that changed the course of battle forever!

Back from the realm beyond, Kron revealed the secret manipulations of the Baron of War -- Ares Menschlich! The co-founder of The Great Arena stood exposed at Pre-Show 11, responsible for pushing the forces of The Union of the Human League into a conflict that split them in two at Supercard 6: Team Cr0w vs Team Kron, and led to the brief exile of Kron and his fellows! Unphased, Ares Menschlich returned the blame to the people themselves, claiming they possess no quantifiable degree of magnificence, no selflessness, and no integrity in the relationships they share. Accepting that Lord Mislukking's plot of misdirection was uncovered, he scoffed at any organized attempt to undo their tyrannical rule, and so, Kron put out the call. Seeking a few good men, he asked three warriors to put their personal goals aside to unite as a force on this Night of the Barons!

Facing the incredible odds with Kron are Ratt, Mimik and Genku -- warriors who all have more than mere virtue to fight for, but will gladly lay it on the line at their own cost! Their chances of victory may be slim, but as the "chosen four," they already undermine the cynical views that provoked their assembly. Matched against WarFamine, Pestilence, and Death, they are The Union of the Human League, and the first line of renewed attack against the arrogant Barons who rule above them!

13. Cr0w (c) d. The_Purple_Bunny in a +24 Championship decimation!
Seeking his twenty-fifth win in a phenomenal win streak that has claimed tournaments and the Undisputed Championship -- Cr0w probably did not have the inclination to consider how his actions reflect upon the character of the Union of the Human League. Ares Menschlich may be antagonist to the people, but his philosophy, right or wrong, is ultimately a grudge to be addressed at a later date for a man whose reign as Champion has attracted the very best in challengers, and created a dynasty of never-before-seen records! Cr0w would no doubt desire reprisal for War's manipulations that led to Supercard 6 -- but with an upstart contender like The_Purple_Bunny to contend with, there could be no paltry distractions! Afterall; with a string of victories that included Tournament 7: The Next Phase -- The_Purple_Bunny had the makings of a champion -- or so it seemed...

Throughout his reign as Champion, Cr0w has faced some of the brightest and most powerful figures the League has to offer. He has been challenged many times, escaping defeat sometimes by a margin that does little to reflect the numerical domination he's experienced in twenty-four unanswered victories. DECEPTION was the most recent to threaten his phenomenal streak, teasing an upset during
Tournament 8: Grand Slam [Singles] -- an event Cr0w eventually won. The_Purple_Bunny was dark horse enough to anticipate the possibility of such a threat, but on thsi Night of Barons, "The Unstoppable" Cr0w would be in rare form!

Fighting at the absolute peak of his powers; Cr0w unleashed a strength and strategum that must have sent a shiver down the Baron of War's spine for its shimmering brilliance and threatening potency! Any belief of an upset victory melted away like human skin in a nuclear holocaust, leaving The_Purple_Bunny defenseless against the onslaught he faced! Cr0w has etched his name in history with his accomplishments, but in this +24 decimation of TPB, he sent a message to the world that he will one day become a master!

The Barons no doubt had a role to play in the result. TPB showed a diminished capacity that had all the hallmarks of the notorious P-Virus, but that could not undercut the terrifying display of power Cr0w displayed. The unforgiving display may have been the ultimate confirmation of Ares Menschlich's philosophy of unfeeling antagonism, but that could only underline the threat that Cr0w poses to the Barons of Lord Mislukking and the League, both. When the time comes that his streak is broken, and the Championship slips from his grip -- heaven help those Four Barons, for whom Cr0w will come...

12. Ares Menschlich d. Kron in a decimation.
It was the reveal that changed everything: Kron, returning from the realm beyond, unleashed the shocking revelation that Ares Menschlich, Baron of War and founder of The Great Arena, had manipulated the morals of all fighters to split the arena in two -- result in Supercard 6: Team Kron vs Team Cr0w and the eventual exile of Kron! Exposed, Menschlich responded philosophically, claiming his occult influence merely exposed the underlying passion for war that lies within every fighter. Working to distract the League from the oppresive machinations of Lord Mislukking, War further proclaims that the rule of his master is assured by the fact that there are no true heroes or allies within the collosseum walls of The Great Arena!

Kron formed the chosen four to dispel Menschlich's claims, but with defeat facing two of his three allies, could a moral victory do anything more than slow the inevitable? Fighting for the good of the Kingdom and the honor of the entire League, Kron attempts to face down the notoriously powerful Baron of War, intent on striking back against the organized invaders who oppressed the once peaceful world of the Cheevment Kingdom!

Never defeated within the walls of The Great Arena, the Baron of War has earned an intimidating status as one of the most powerful figures in the fighting kingdom, perhaps second only to Lord Mislukking, himself. Despite his fearsome reputation, Ares Menschlich has been defeated,
most memorably by Cr0w, in his 147th random encounter during the lead-up to 2011 Ultimate Grand Prix! Widely recognised as Cr0w's equal; Kron had even odds against the warlord, even though a post-resurrection encounter at Pre-Show 11: Truth or Consequences punctuated Kron's anti-Baron manifesto with a defeat.

Alas; Kron looked unimpressive as he stepped into the spotlight with the conflict-loving Baron of War! In his element, Ares Menschlich had all the confidence of a man with an undefeated record in formal competition. Gladiatorial in his approach, he dramatically outclassed a Kron who looked far less prepared for this scale of battle than he had during Pre-Show 11! Philosophy fell by the wayside as Ares Menschlich toyed with his opponent, showboating for the silenced audience who could only watch as Mimik's bold affirmation was whittled away with every punishing blow and strike!

Kron -- quite probably suffering the effects of P-Virus infection from the past, exacerbated by his calculated Pre-Show 12 warm-up encounter with Praga Conquette -- fell completely to the mercy of the Baron of War! Mercy was exactly what Menschlich delivered, leaving a sorely decimated Kron relatively unscathed from the severe beating. Like the Baron of Death before him, Menschlich proved content with the simple truth of combative superiority. He would not make a martyr of Kron. With the Undisputed Championship still to be defended, anyone who might have helped the decimated rebel did not, punctuating the claims that personal glory and mutual contempt fuel The Great Arena, not heroics, or a higher dedication to the common wealth. The "chosen four" were defeated. The Baron of War free to confidently stride from his temple of battle. Kron had failed.

11. Sinvida Von Grimm d. Genku in a decimation.
Like his fighting predecessors, Genku had personal reasons to answer Kron's call for chosen fighters to rise up against the tyranny of the Barons of Mislukking! Manipulated by the same occult influences that split the league in twain during Supercard 6 -- Genku was compelled to throw himself on the sword of Lord Mislukking himself, resulting in an eerie resurrection under the will of Baron of Death, Sinvida Von Grimm! As Revenant Genku, the Tournament 1 winner became a pawn for the forces of the evil overlord, a mere puppet in the play of conquest that ultimately led to Mensclich's grand manipulation of the entire League! Eager for some payback, Genku gladly stepped into the Night of Barons against the intimidating force of Death -- the Baron who only recently entered combat at Tower of Power II, where The Unstoppable Cr0w suffered a shocking decimation!

Wielding mystic powers beyond human perception, the Baron of Death did not disappoint! With a reputation of being perhaps the most powerful of the Barons of Mislukking, Sinvida Von Grimm once again made a plaything of the bashful Genku. Try, though he would, the vengeful fighter could not counter the grandiose powers of Grimm's black magic! Twisted and contorted at every turn, Genku could not be accused of lacking determination or strength -- merely outclassed by a power of rare scale! Despite being utterly decimated, Genku would not suffer as horrific a beating as he could. Perhaps by sheer determination, luck, or the nostalgic grace of Sinvida Von Grimm, Genku would be allowed to walk away to fight another day. It would be undoubted, however, that the Baron of Death was superior in the theatre of combat. A shattering moral blow to the hopes of the chosen four!

10. Mimik d. Praga Conquette in a decimation!
Where Ratt had been the odds-on favourite to win his bout; Mimik entered the fray with a much less promising expected future, perhaps the least likely of the chosen few to beat his opponent. As a shock First Round drop-out when he faced Vultyrex in Tournament 8: Grand Slam [Singles], Mimik had plenty of reasons to battle the Baron of Pestilence, inflicted with the notorious P-Virus that has been responsible for secretly sapping the strength of some of the top competitors of The Great Arena! So insensed was Mimik that he took the fight to Praga Conquette well before the Night of Barons, zealously pursuing the villain with little regard for his own health!

A highly motivated member of Kron's chosen four; it seemed Mimik's underdog status would make the perfect plot for a shocking upset going in his favour! Praga Conquette has never been known for her strength, but as the Baroness of Pestilence, she has frequently fought beyond her class, wielding the weaponized P-Virus with devastating results. Mimik may have been riddled with the endurance killing disease, but his will could not be denied! Fighting for the people and perhaps something more, Mimik shrugged off any notion of fatigue, overpowering Pestilence with unrelenting force! Where Famine had beaten Ratt by the narrowest of margins, Mimik would unleash a +2 decimation that would remind the Barons of their often forgotten mortality! Ares Menschlich may have claimed that no fighter would sacrifice themselves for Kron's idle dreams of liberation, but in Mimik, the spirit of the Union of the Human League was ratified, victorious despite the longterm costs of infection!

With chances split between his fellows to follow, Mimik stood atop the beaten form of the Baroness of Pestilence. Against overwhelming odds he declared her defeated, igniting the spirits in a roar from the stunned audience of The Great Arena!

9. Bez Busshitsu d. Ratt in a close fought match.
With a history of underhanded attacks dating all the way back to Supercard 3 -- Ratt had more than enough reason to step up to a fight with the Baron of Famine, Bez Busshitsu! The first henchman of Lord Mislukking bedevilled Ratt for months, adding a personal twist to the heroic stance of the first man to join Kron in his battle with the Four Barons! "The Iron Man" Ratt has never been one to shy away from a fight, and with a Pre-Show victory over the mysterious Six Armed Samurai, entered the Night of Barons with the odds to win well in his favour!

Ratt may have come a long way since the days of Famine's sneak attacks, but the four nemesis' have also found ways to grow stronger during their absence from Great Arena showcases. Once a feeble fiend, Bez Busshitsu has leeched from the fighting denizens of the Cheevment Kingdom to become a force to be reckoned with! Surpassing his status as lowest ranked among the Barons, he went toe-to-toe with the fan-favourite "Iron Man," answering every blow with devastating competence. There could be no blowout in the first result in the war between the Union of the Human League and the forces of Mislukking, but alas, the result would go conclusively to the Baron of Famine! A disappointing result for Ratt, who was widely believed the best bet among Kron's chosen heroes!

8. Hokey & Ninja_Mime (c) d. DECEPTION & Onryo in a +2 Championship decimation.
With a finals win at Tournament 9: Grand Slam [Doubles], Hokey & Ninja_Mime solidified their status as the greatest team leading the Duo Division ranks, beating out T6 winners and standing rivals, Pink_Ranger & Ghostdragon! With their own big win at Supercard 11: All-Star Summer Showdown, DECEPTION & Onryo set themselves up for a shot at the undisputed best, earning contender status with a well earned victory over SubMan799 & Casselman! Representing two of the most successful teams in the league, it was sure to be another blockbuster encounter!

The sparks did indeed fly as the fan-favourites collided, but it was unfortunately apparent from the early going that the charmed combination of Hokey & Ninja_Mime were in a league of their own. DECEPTION & Onryo put forward a compelling case, fighting hard as a well paired unit, but the ability to combine as potent individuals in a well oiled combination proved too strong! Hokey & Ninja_Mime pick up a valuable second defense, but more to the point, extend their impressive league record to 15-1 -- a success rate that demands comparison to the record setting powers of Cr0w!

7. Ghostdragon d. Jammer2Omega in a close fight!
Bouncing off his Quarter Finals berth in Tournament 8: Grand Slam [Singles]; Ghostdragon looked refreshed and ready to repeat the previous result in a rematch confrontation with Next Phase posterboy, Jammer2Omega! The pair proved incredibly well matched during the elimination bracket, reflecting the comparisons that have often been osberved of both as on-the-verge competitors. Their histories have at times seemed destined to be intertwined, the T8 meeting being a reversal of their Tournament 5 encounter -- a Round Three win for Jammer2Omega -- which was followed by a repeat meeting at Supercard 7! With such a tense history, it was inevitable the close fought T8 match would demand another outing to seek more conclusive results.

With both men fighting hard to defend their reputations, it was another titanic clash between evenly matched combatants! Like so many others in the league, the trials of the Grand Slam were evident in their approach, forcing the two into something far more elementary than a battle of wills. Continuing his charge toward respect, Ghostdragon was the man who had the legs to go the distance, fighting hard to take Jammer2Omega out in another close encounter!

6. Scott-Howell d. Murdoink
As the first combination to form within The Great Arena, Scott-Howell and Murdoink have come to be regarded Duo Division favourites, originals within the ranks. Who could forget, however, that theirs was a bond originally formed through rivalry, beginning in the first round of Tournament 1! The induction of Duo Division Championships at Tournament 6 (July) created expectations for the crowning of the tandem classics, but with more active competition came increasing pressure and disappointment. Defeat in the Third Round of Tournament 9: Grand Slam [Doubles] finally lit the fuse on this powderkeg, reigniting the feud between the pair in a bitter clash of solo powers!

Partnered for so long, the two combatants looked undoubtedly well matched, but the edge did appear to be with the antagonist in the situation. "Sugar" Scott-Howell showed a side distinctly less sweet as he fought tooth and nail to take his former partner down. Just as it was in their very first encounter, Howell walked away the victor, closing the book on one of the most seasoned and beloved teams in the Duo Division -- a fact all too familiar to the mantra of Ares Menschlich, who claims there are no long term friends in the theatre of war.

5. Blaze d. Pink_Ranger in a comprehensive result.
Powering her way out of a Tournament 8 that included the shock Third Round elimination of #5 seed, Toryn -- Blaze has blazed a trail toward the top of the ranks in both solo and duo competitions, in no less than record time! Her fast feats have earned the attentions of many keen observers, not the least of which is Pink_Ranger, the "First Lady of Fights" who's held similar esteem in both popularized fields of combat! Keen to defend her turf, Pink_Ranger gladly takes the fight to her newest rival!

As The Great Arena has shown many times before, experience is only part of the equation for victory! Indeed, the fresh faced Blaze continued to fight with a vigor that defies her time in the league! Pink_Ranger was solid, but appeared to be carrying the legacy of a Tournament 9: Grand Slam [Doubles] Final into this match! It's a harsh loss for the former First Lady of Fights, but a promising continuation to the first chapter of Blaze's career!

4. Leroy & Mark d. ZachAngel & Angelia in a close fight!
The rivalry between Team Agaper and Team Ops has gone well beyond the mere rankings opportunity presented by previous bouts. With a series of inter-related matches bringing a wider roster of competitors into the fray, the battle appears to be escalating beyond a 2-v-2 affair! Pre-Show 12 saw the Agaper combo of Menas & Politics assert themselves over Celeste & ScottK in a set-up for the Supercard 12 clash of captains!

In a rematch of their All-Star Summer Showdown opener, the captain teams of ZachAngel & Angelia and Leroy & Mark looked set to go head-to-head in a grudge match encounter! Fighting hard for Duo Division supremacy, it seemed as if the two teams might incur yet another tied result for Supercard 12 (after Ken/TonyTheTiger)! Fortunate for fighting purists, a winner did indeed battle through the evenly matched contest, revealing Leroy & Mark as winners once again!

3. Ken & TonyTheTiger fought to a draw!
Since finding his claws during Tournament 7; TonyTheTiger has transformed from opportunistic scavenger, to ferocious alpha predator! Rising through the ranks with the legitimacy of a Tournament 8 Quarter Finals berth, TonyTheTiger now finds himself the target of combatants like Ken, keen to earn their way back into the graces of the unofficial contenders list, in much the same fashion as the TonyTheTiger of old!

It was always going to be a clash of the highly motivated, but nobody could have expected the bout to be such a hard fought, evenly matched battle! Both fighters looked fierce as they threw themselves in to a challenge that could very well shape their race toward the Undisputed Championship! Unrelenting, both man met the other, blow for blow, pound for pound! In the end, the match could go no further, Ken and TonyTheTiger fighting to a stunning stalemate finish, a high level draw!

This marks only the third tied battle in The Great Arena, following the first instances that occurred mere weeks previous, at Tournament 8: Grand Slam [Singles] in the First and Second Rounds! It seems, much like the August blitz of three Daruma 7 victors, the famous first has opened the floodgates to many more! No doubt we'll see Ken and TonyTheTiger duke it once more, sometime in the future!

2. Toryn d. m0s
Toryn has always been a fighter who regarded the more fortunate with envious eyes, dating back to the earliest days of The Great Arena, where he earned the contempt of his peers through exploitation and low tactics during Tournament 1. It was little wonder, then, that the rising star of the two-time arcade fire, "Mr. Daruma" m0s, would become a target for the jealous former-Champion whose name has faded from the unofficial contender ranks -- replaced by m0s!

The epitomy of Ares Menschlich's belief that a base self-interest motivates every fighter beyond all: Toryn quickly shed any unconvincing claims of a partnership with m0s that might have arisen in the past, keen to supress the league's fast rising daruma dynamo. m0s fought well, but it was Toryn who showed a greater intensity in his assault, overpowering "Mr. Daruma" to wrestle a much needed win! His first victory since being upset by Blaze during Tournament 8: Grand Slam [Singles] -- this seems likely to be but the first in a long list of victims Toryn claims in his rise back to the top.

1. ElJobber d. Tyrant-Cenobite in a +3 decimation.
Retribution seems unattainable for the former fan-favourite once regarded the "conscience" of The Great Arena! The court of public opinion may have ruled against him, but personal satisfaction was no doubt motivation enough to spur ElJobber to enter another battle with his infamous accuser, Tyrant-Cenobite! Answers regarding the alleged attack at Supercard 4: 2011 Ultimate Grand Prix played a distant second to ElJobber's desire to rack up another MAX damage, like the +30 annihilations that have capped three of his most recent victories.

The slippery Tyrant proved a canny customer, as elusive as he was outmatched, by his unrelenting opponent. Under the spotlight of The Great Arena, Tyrant-Cenobite could only do so much dancing, but it was enough to escape the fate of his partner, queve, who ranked amongst the MAX damage victims, at Pre-Show 12! ElJobber may have caught up with his opponent, but the +3 impact he was able to exert failed to stack up to their previous encounter, or the punishing reputation ElJobber has earned. Likewise, it failed to reveal any more about the circumstances of their feud, but with his eyes locked coldly on competition, it seems ElJobber has long since stopped caring about that. An indictment of guilt, perhaps?

Unofficial Rankings Update:
The Barons came, the Barons saw, the Barons conquered! It was a rough day at the office for the ranking contenders of The Union of the Human League, who had to fight probono to repel the cynical beliefs that empower Ares Menschlich and his crew of bastardly barons! The Night of- took its toll on the "chosen four," with the exception of Mimik, who was able to rocket back into the ranks in spite of a staggering First Round elimination from Tournament 8: Grand Slam [Singles] (by Vultyrex)!

Who could forget, after all, that two tournaments have occurred since the last unofficial rankings count -- not to mention the present Supercard! Not that the Grand Slam for [Singles] and [Doubles] would change much! Cr0w continued his "unstoppable" rampage to position himself for a record shattering twenty-fifth victory at Supercard 12, not to mention his third overall Tournament win, as final victor in T8. Hokey & Ninja_Mime continued their similar charmed brand of dominance, overcoming arch-rivals Pink_Ranger & Ghostdragon to claim T9!

Meanwhile; ElJobber charges back toward a Championship match with a string of shattering defeats earning him a reputation for inflicting "MAX Damage" as part of his rebranding since the people turned on him at Tower of Power II!

As Tournament 8 Runner-Up and all around "Iron Man", Ratt has himself the top spot and a surefire Championship match in the near future! The flipside of Kron, who made a massive impact on return, but has faded out with a string of losses to Ares Menschlich and Porygonix.

Champion: Cr0w
#1 Ratt
#2 ElJobber
#3 The_Purple_Bunny
#4 Hokey
#5 Ninja_Mime
#6 Genku
#7 Mimik
#8 Kron
#9 Ghostdragon

HYPE: The_Purple_Bunny/Cr0w SC12 Preview!

At Supercard 12: Night of the Barons, it may be the titular foursome who go on trial against some of the brightest fighters in the league, but the main event will still belong to the covetted Undisputed Championship and its top contender!

Since winning the title May 15th; Cr0w has been a force of nature, dominating his way across five months, racking up six successful Championship defenses, and a record setting win streak of twenty-four unanswered victories! Among the Champion's victims, a who's who of leagues best: Ratt, Kron, ElJobber, Genku, Mimik, TonyTheTiger, Pink_Ranger, DECEPTION, Onryo, and more!

In fact, since the last path of the champion listing, Cr0w has added the following wins to his resume:

The_Purple_Bunny cannot claim to have had the same path of success as his daunting opponent, but in recent months, his wholely different course toward the Championship has included a string of accolades! After making a surprise return in a Battle Royal at Supercard 9: Royal Roulette, TPB entered and won the exciting test of Tournament 7: The Next Phase, where he unleashed high impact wins upon a field that concluded with TonyTheTiger. Supercard 11: All-Star Summer Showdown continued the elevation with a punishing victory over arch-nemesis Shoe, before Blaze debuted at Tournament 9 to form one of the exciting new teams with TPB!

The complete path of the challenge is as interesting as it is unconventional:

The_Purple_Bunny d. Shoe - Supercard 11: All-Star Summer Showdown (Aug. 14)
The_Purple_Bunny d. Killswitch - R1, Tournament 8: Grand Slam [Singles] (Aug. 30)
The_Purple_Bunny d. Sucka - R2, Tournament 8: Grand Slam [Singles] (Sep. 2)

Blaze & The_Purple_Bunny d. Artanix & foahchon - Pre-Show 12: Grand Slam Aftermath (Sep. 11)

With the recent elevation in his game, The_Purple_Bunny will have every chance to rise to the occasion, a legitimate challenger despite lacking the status of some of the other fallen contenders. Finding keys to victory against Cr0w have been nigh impossible, but with longterm success comes increasing pressures and/or the threat of complacency. Despite his steady success, Cr0w has certainly experienced close fought matches in his five month reign, and most recently experienced a surprising scare from DECEPTION, who gave Cr0w a run for his money during Tournament 8: Grand Slam [Singles]. An element of fortune is present in every great run and The_Purple_Bunny will hoping it sides with him when he takes on the streak!

In the build, Cr0w's preparation has changed very little, with this defense bringing with it some of the least concern. Cr0w is obviously confident going in to his match with TPB, even if he has shown significant signs of being rattled by the mounting desire of the people to see the streak end. Cries for a new champion are coming thick and fast, and with Ratt looking likely to be booked in as the next challenger to his title, it is an issue that isn't going to go away any time soon.

However peturbed, Cr0w remains confident, rarely bothered by other combatants outside competition. Most know they run the risk of dulling their own Supercard hopes if they challenge the top ranked fighter. Even with the recent outbreak of extra-league battles in an unofficial 24/7 sub-league, Cr0w has faced a mininum few who would chase that shortterm reward.

It will be anyones match to win when the Undisputed Championship goes on the line once more at Supercard 12: Night of the Barons! The Great Arena will play host to a packed card of intriguing matches, including the end of an era as Scott-Howell and Murdoink end their association; ElJobber's attempt to take Tyrant-Cenobite for MAX damage; "Mr. Daruma" m0s and the spiteful Toryn; and much more!

Be here September 18 for all the results, and be sure to check the records as Championship history unfolds!

Schedule: The Barons are Coming!

The Tournament Grand Slam offered a unique opportunity to stars of both the solo and duo divisions, but the celebration of combat was tainted by a revelation that rewrote the history of The Great Arena! Ares Menschlich -- Baron of War and counterpart to The Union of The Human League -- has manipulated the league to turn the people against each other, steering attentions away from the sinister machinations of his evil master, Lord Mislukking! Exposed by the born again warrior, Kron, Menschlich claims he merely exposed what was already there.

Emerging from the Grand Slam Aftermath, Kron attempts to prove the innate good that lies within the leagues finest, inspiring them to an act of selflessness. Standing beside him is Ratt, an iron willed competitor with a reputation for overcoming impossible odds, including against the ranks of the Four Barons! With two fiends unaccounted for, they welcome the surprising accompaniment of Genku and Mimik, who will put aside their pursuit of individual achievement and rivalry to take the fight back to these fiends on the Night of the Barons!

While Famine, Pestilence, War and Death face the earnest efforts of the chosen four -- the fighting league will continue as it always does. Are fights like these affirmations of Ares Menschlich's belief that the people will devour themselves before they fight the overwhelming odds of their overlords, or is there still a purity within the walls of The Great Arena, which rises up in defiance of the corruption of Supercard 6 and the War for the Kr0wn?

The_Purple_Bunny will face his own impossible odds when he takes on the very human and very unstoppable force that is Cr0w: a Champion whose reign has endured six challenges, included two complete tournament victories, and produced an unbroken win streak of twenty-four matches! Will TPB go down as win twenty-five, or is this first time contender about to make history with the biggest win of his career?

Rivalries and feuds will feature across the undercard, but September 18 will belong to eight individuals representing two factions as The Great Arena plays host to Supercard 12: Night of the Barons!

Supercard 12: Night of the Barons (September 28, 2011)
1. The_Purple_Bunny versus Cr0w (c)
The_Purple_Bunny has returned from the realm beyond, decimated his arch-nemesis, won Tournament 7, and formed one of the most electrifying new teams in the Duo Division -- but is even all of that enough to overcome the unstoppable force that is Cr0w? Enjoying a record setting twenty-four match win streak, Cr0w has reigned over the league ever since he won Tournament 5 and claimed his second Undisputed Championship! He triumphed over Tournament 8: Grand Slam [Singles], but didn't have to face the red hot Bunny along the way! It'll be a compelling first-time title match when TPB steps up as the X-Factor in the SC12 main event!

2. Kron versus Ares Menschlich (War)
It was the bombshell that changed the face of competition forever!
Kron returns from a shock elimination with the biggest secret The Great Arena has ever housed and now he wants to set things right! Born again and ready to lay it all on the line, Kron challenges Ares Menschlich -- the Baron of War who used his occult powers of influence to divide the league and distract from the rule of the evil Lord Mislukking! Menschlich says he only exposed what was already there -- a natural contempt and passion for self-interest that will condemn The Union of The Human League to inferiority forevermore. He claims no fighter is selfless enough to sacrifice their own gain to fight a losing battle against the Four Barons -- but at Supercard 12, he might just be proven wrong!

3. Genku versus Sinvida Von Grimm (Death)
Kron was taking a leap of faith when he agreed to lead the fight against the Four Barons of Mislukking! The born again warrior believed others would step up to join him in the battle, but never could have imagined that Genku would be among them! The notoriously self-centred fighter might seem an unlikely combatant to deviate from ranking battles with his peers, but the battle with "Death", Sinvida Von Grimm, will have special significance! It was back in March that Genku found himself resurrected by the Baron of Death, serving as a Revenant minion to the dark forces. It'll be a perfect opportunity for some long overdue payback as Genku joins the chosen four!

4. Mimik versus Praga Conquette (Pestilence)
Day 4 of Tournament 8: Grand Slam [Singles] produced the biggest shock upset when Vultyrex eliminated the #11 seed in the First Round! It was mere months ago that Mimik narrowly missed out on Championship contention and he knows exactly who is responsible for the reversal of fortunes! Praga Conquette is the Baroness of Pestilence and for months she has secretly spread the fatigue inducing sickness known as the Pestilence Virus! Mimik has already taken the fight to Pestilence in a string of outside battles and will formally answer Kron's call as one of the chosen four at Supercard 12!

5. Ratt versus Bez Busshitsu (Famine)
When Kron put out the call for selfless fighters brave enough to challenge the Four Barons, it was only natural that Ratt be the first man to stand tall! Beloved for his daring feats as the "Iron Man" with the never-say-die attitude, Ratt is exactly who you would expect to join the ranks of the chosen four, even with arch-rival Genku occupying another slot! Just like his fellows, Ratt will bring a personal dimension to the battle, having suffered several underhanded attacks at the hands of Bez Busshitsu, beginning at Pre-Show 3 and lasting all the way to Supercard 6! He beat the SixArmedSamurai in his Pre-Show warm-up and will sharpen focus in the hopes of doing it again at Supercard 12!

6. DECEPTION & Onryo versus Hokey & Ninja_Mime (c)
They were shock Second Round eliminations at Tournament 9: Grand Slam [Doubles], but the buddy combo of DECEPTION & Onryo still remain one of the top ranked teams of the Duo Division! A victory over SubMan799 & Casselman at Supercard 11: All-Star Summer Showdown guaranteed the pair a Duo Division Championship match at Supercard 12, and they will relish the opportunity to bounce back from the T9 disappointment, a bracket eventually won by reigning holders, Hokey & Ninja_Mime! The Charmed Champions have a phenomenal record in battle, but with only one title defense in the bank, it'll be a high stakes defense against a big time tandem!

7. Jammer2Omega versus Ghostdragon
In the past, Ghostdragon has grappled with a reputation of being unable to go the distance in the important match-ups. Partnership with Pink_Ranger earned the fighter high praise, but it was at Tournament 8: Grand Slam [Singles] that GD confirmed his long awaited arrival, fighting into the Quarter Finals of the tour! On his way, he had to claim Next Phase posterchild, Jammer2Omega, earning a hard fought victory in the Third Round! J2O will look to reclaim the stat when he meets GD in a big time T8 rematch!

8. Scott-Howell versus Murdoink
They have been fondly regarded as Great Arena originals, pioneers of the now thriving Duo Division who were there for the very first duo match, at Supercard 3! Their bond was originally formed through a rivalry, which began in Tournament 1, and culminated in a match at Pre-Show 2. Success has been elusive since the induction of the Duo Division Championships and this pressure finally took its toll on the beloved team, exploding in the Third Round of Tournament 9! Now, Scott-Howell and Murdoink are enemies once again, turning against each other for a shocking one-on-one match up that will bring to an end a fondly remembered era!

9. ElJobber versus Tyrant-Cenobite
He was the fan-favourite "conscience" of The Great Arena, but when the people began to wonder about the truth of his character, ElJobber stopped caring and started crushing! Tyrant-Cenobite claims it was he who robbed him of his Championship dreams with an assault that prevented his qualified entry into the Supercard 4: 2011 Ultimate Grand Prix Battle Royal! Fighting without answers, ElJobber's powerful defeats of queve (Pre-Show 12) and T-C (at Pre-Show 11) have only bred suspicion! With a ruthless edge that resulted in three +30 decimations in the past fortnight, it seems as if ElJobber will be fighting for his own satisfaction, rather than any attempt to expose the truth about the allegations. The simple fact may be that he really did it.

10. Blaze versus Pink_Ranger
Charging to a phenomenal 6-2 record in her debut during the Grand Slam fortnight, Blaze has quickly established herself as a name to watch in both the solo and duo divisions! As a former Duo Division Champion, Pink_Ranger has blazed a similar trail, enjoying her own success as a peripheral contender for the individual prize. With this new woman warrior looking to usurp the title of First Lady of Fights, it'll be a good old fashioned grudge match when Pink_Ranger defends her turf against the newest sensation of the Next Phase! A compelling undercard compliment to the Cr0w/The_Purple_Bunny main event!

11. ZachAngel & Angelia versus Leroy & Mark
In the past few months it has ballooned into a fierce rivalry! The fighting faithful of Team Agaper have clashed with the authority in Team Ops in several permutations, including a major Duo Division clash at Supercard 11: All-Star Summer Showdown! Now the feature pairs of ZachAngel & Angelia and Leroy & Mark will clash once more in an intriguing rematch of faction leaders! Will this be the deciding conclusion to the on-going feud, or merely a Second Act firestarter? Compelling competition sure to have ramifications within the Duo Division and beyond!

12. Toryn versus m0s
He is the arcade fire who defied incredible odds to become winner of the Daruma 7 attraction not just once -- but twice! m0s is one of the rising stars of the fighting league and a fan-favourite who has more than earned the affectionate title of "Mr. Daruma" -- which is exactly why Toryn wants to fight him! The former Undisputed Champion has found himself struggling to maintain a position within the unofficial top ten contenders, a fact that makes him none too happy about the upstart arrival of m0s! Keen to resume his longtime contender status at m0s' expense, Toryn will gladly embody everything Ares Menschlich professes in a highly charged grudge bout!

13. Ken versus TonyTheTiger
He was the ultimate opportunist, always looking for a backdoor into the top ten contenders, but at Tournament 7, TonyTheTiger found his claws! Transformed from scavanger to predator, TTT has risen through the ranks, delivering punishment at every turn as he fights his way to legitimacy as a top contender! Ken knows what it's like to be at the top and in recent months, has undertaken a phenomenal effort to hold on to his peripheral position! In a reversal of roles, Ken will attempt to consolidate his position, taking on the Tournament 8 Quarter Finalist in a highly intriguing match-up!

14. CaTigeReptile versus Porygonix
It was during the Fourth Round of Tournament 8: Grand Slam [Singles] that the student surpassed the master, Porygonix achieving a shock upset win against friend and ally, Kron! Trumped by #6 seed, Ninja_Mime, in the Third Round of the tournament; CaTigeReptile continues to struggle her way back to the good graces of the unofficial top ten! Well matched against the upstart, Porygonix will provide the perfect opportunity as two of the outsider majors duke it out with reputations on the line!

The Grand Slam Aftermath is officially ended as The Great Arena writes a new chapter in the saga of man v baron! Kron leads the charge against Ares Menschlich and his fellows, while Championships go on the line in a separate test of individual wills and the grander philosophy of the fight! Who will reign supreme?!

September 18 is the moment when the people fight back! Supercard 12: Night of the Barons will feature The_Purple_Bunny as he attempts to repel the unstoppable force of Tournament 8 winner, Cr0w! Tournament 9 winners and Duo Division Champions, Hokey & Ninja_Mime, will face a similar test when they defend against DECEPTION & Onryo -- PLUS! An era ends when Scott-Howell takes on former-partner Murdoink; ElJobber seeks MAX damage when he meets Tyrant-Cenobite once again; and Ghostdragon faces the acid test of a rematch withJammer2Omega! Don't miss it!

Pre-Show 12: Grand Slam Aftermath!

September 11, 2011 -- For two straight weeks The Great Arena was gripped by the excitement of another tournament first, this time, the co-running test of two tours filled with the very best of the solo and duo divisions! Cr0w continued his impressive streak to obtain a twenty-fourth straight win and total victory in Tournament 8: Grand Slam [Singles], while Hokey & Ninja_Mime confirmed a similar pattern of dominance, claiming their first overall victory in Tournament 9: Grand Slam [Doubles]!

With the tournaments complete, the Grand Slam Aftermath reunites the people of The Union of the Human League in the honorable pursuit of combat! Showcasing rematches from the Grand Slam and brand new bouts designed to test and prepare, Pre-Show 12 is a return to form -- but is that a good thing?...

Baron of War, Ares Menschlich, has been revealed as the sinister tug that tore The Great Arena in twain during the conflict of Supercard 6: Team Cr0w vs Team Kron! He is the occult influence that pushed the ranks into a War for the Kr0wn and distracted attentions from the dark influence of the conquering overlord, Lord Mislukking! He claims he merely exposed what was already there -- a natural contempt that drives the feuds and rivalries of the league and the self-interest that pushes warriors to pursue titles. The Grand Slam phenomenon appears only to reaffirm this, and in doing so, spurs Kron to make a stand for something else.

The Night of the Barons is coming, but before it does, there will be choices to be made amidst the Grand Slam Aftermath. Here the future will be decided and the fate of the souls who return week after week will be written! Let the people unite, for freedom and liberty!

14. Kron d. Praga Conquette in a +3 decimation!
When Kron returned from the realm beyond at Pre-Show 11, it was bombshell enough! Revealing that events leading to the Arena-splitting Supercard 6: Team Cr0w vs Team Kron, and the War for the Kr0wn that followed, were actually the occult machinations of Ares Menschlich, Baron of War, was a shock The Great Arena could never have prepared for!

Born again; Kron has made it his mission to return focus to the oppressors that have used the construct of organized competition as distraction from their true nature. Denying Menschlich's claim that every human in the league possesses a natural proclivity for conflict and hate, Kron puts aside his rivalries in the hope that others will follow his example. At Supercard 12: Night of the Barons, "The Iron Man" Ratt will once again stand with Kron against the Four Barons, as he did at Supercard 4: 2011 Ultimate Grand Prix, during the first major press to destroy the forces of the dark Lord Mislukking.

In preparation for his SC12 rematch with Menschlich, Kron challenges Praga Conquette -- Baroness of Pestilence -- to a warm-up match that will also potentially soften the threat of the vile villainess, and inspire others to join his cause.

Kron was electifying, fighting at full strength in ways he had not during Tournament 8: Grand Slam [Singles]. Renewed in spirit by a clear objective, he defied the illmaking influence of the Baroness of Pestilence, unleashing a decimation of limited impact, but unquestionable totality! A +3 defeat was enough to leave Conquette thoroughly defeated, reminding all that the Barons of Lord Mislukking are indeed fallible, and that they can eventually be overthrown.

13. Ratt d. SixArmedSamurai in an open challenge!
Supercard 12: Night of the Barons will pit fighters against the four horsemen of Lord Mislukking, and as preparation for his grudge battle with the Baron of Famine, Bez Busshitsu -- "The Iron Man" Ratt returns to Pre-Show competition to throw his customary open challenge to any of the non-league fighters that populate the outskirts of the kingdom!

Answering Ratt's challenge is the mysterious warrior known as SixArmedSamurai -- a solitary figure fighting to hone his skills and perfect his deadly art. 6AS appeared during Tournament 1, and was last seen losing a rematch to his T1 eliminator, Aquilluxborg Hydroxybot, at Supercard 4: 2011 Ultimate Grand Prix! Having amassed a wealth of experience since that time, the SixArmedSamurai provides a potent warm-up for the daring warrior!

Comparable in strength, but lacking the occult abilities of the Baron of Famine, SixArmedSamurai challenged Ratt with brute force and fighting technique. The fan-favourite was well prepared for the assault and maybe even relished it, enjoying the rush of legitimate competition that has earned him the nickname of "The Iron Man", and made him a darling of The Great Arena. In classic Ratt fashion, the never-say-die fighter rose to the challenge, defeating the SixArmedSamurai with honor.

In just one week, Ratt will be summoned to do it all again for Supercard 12: Night of the Barons! The former champion will reignite his feud with frequent foe of days gone by, Bez Busshitsu, as he attempts to prove there's more to The Union of The Human League than self-interest and greed. Will Ratt succeed in ridding The Great Arena of Famine? Find out in seven!

12. Blaze & The_Purple_Bunny d. Artanix & foahchon in a +2 tandem decimation warm-up!
It's not often that a fighter is able to jump into the deep end of competition in their debut, but Blaze did exactly that during the Grand Slam fortnight! With a staggering Third Round upset elimination of Toryn [#5 seed] in only her fourth league fight, Blaze also took it to the Duo Division ranks, teaming with old ally The_Purple_Bunny to go down to Pink_Ranger & Ghostdragon in an impressive Second Round battle!

One of several new teams to emerge during Tournament 9: Grand Slam [Doubles]; Blaze reteams with The_Purple_Bunny to further test their tandem credentials, whilst providing the perfect warm-up for The_Purple_Bunny ahead of his confirmed Undisputed Championship match against the record holding unstoppable champion, Cr0w! Providing the workout -- one of the hottest teams of the Duo Division (and The_Purple_Bunny's solo Tournament 7 Semi Final rival), Artanix & foahchon!

It was the fight heard throughout the Duo Division! Blaze & The_Purple_Bunny showed considerable chemistry as a team, unleashing a combined force far beyond what was witnessed during their first appearance, in Tournament 9! Artanix & foahchon may have been the far more experienced, but they were left gobsmacked, outclassed by a pairing that looks likely to stand very well on their own, in much the same way as the reigning Duo Division Champions, Hokey & Ninja_Mime. It is a tale most encouraging for The_Purple_Bunny, who in just one week will try his luck against the twenty-four match win streak of the seemingly unstoppable force of Cr0w, in a Supercard 12 main event for the covetted Undisputed Championship!

11. m0s d. UNdiscovered in a +7 decimation.
Since emerging as a two-time winner of the challenging Daruma 7 arcade attraction, "Mr. Daruma" m0s has become one of the hottest new stars of The Great Arena! Now a regular fixture, in and out of organized events, m0s has dramatically increased his powers, whilst earning a reputation as a real favourite amongst fans! With such a hotstreak preceeding him, you'd think the Tournament 9 Semi Finalist would have few enemies, but not quite everyone is on even terms with m0s!

UNdiscovered makes his official debut in competition in the Grand Slam Aftermath, but a personal grand slam was waged between the two in the weeks prior to m0s' Daruma 7 success. As a persistent pest eager to gain the approval of m0s, it was only natural that UNdiscovered would find his way into The Great Arena, forcing their association to turn formal under ranking conditions!

Just as inevitable as their meeting in The Great Arena was the punishing rebuttle that m0s would deliver to UNdiscoverd's challenge! The completely untested fighter stood little to no chance against m0s, way out of his depth in an exchange that concluded quickly with a +7 impact! You've got to wonder if "Mr. Daruma" wasn't taking it easy on his emerging nemesis, a more devastating impact on the cards if not for his generosity! He moves forward with a whole lot of potential, but who could possibly want to fight him?...

10. SlumDunk d. giandavil in a close fought Battle for the Bottom!
After failing to fight his first win in the surprise Battle for the Bottom bout of the Day 4 of Tournament 8; SlumDunk takes the Aftermath opportunity to challenge the fighter closest in another attempt to rise from the lowest position in the league! The concept began with JRF at Pre-Show 9 and has been the domain of SlumDunk ever since!

Fighting with a record of 0-8, SlumDunk had plenty of motivation to spur him towards victory when facing his most obscure opponent to date! giandavil entered with a less than embarassing record of 0-4, only picking up his most recent loss, from foahchon, Day 1 of Tournament 8: Grand Slam [Singles]!

The unlikely marquee encounter presented The Great Arena with yet another compelling clash between two well matched opponents! You could be forgiven for forgetting their bottom ranked stature, the pair engaging in hard fought competition as if they were contesting a major championship opportunity! Despite this even kiltered stoush, it was finally the time of the bottom man! SlumDunk celebrated enthusiastically, finally joining the winners circle as the likes of STEROLIZER and JRF did, before him!

9. ElJobber d. queve in a +30 annihilation!
He was once regarded as "the conscience of The Great Arena," but since being accused of conduct unbecoming a fan-favourite by Tyrant-Cenobite, a change has occurred in ElJobber! Tower of Power II saw the longstanding fighter become a more driven, less remorseful competitor, interested only in capturing the elusive Undisputed Championship!

During Tournament 8: Grand Slam [Singles], ElJobber unleashed shocking +30 decimations upon his opponents in the Second and Third Rounds, MINION and JoelKatz, respectively. Looking to continue his path of maximum damage, ElJobber's Grand Slam Aftermath would include a little venting for his Semi Final defeat against Tyrant-Cenobite's recently recruited partner, queve!

The newcomer was a lamb to the slaughter, walking into a gross mismatch that all-but guaranteed a punishing exit. Indeed, it was another MAX impact rating for ElJobber as he took his frustrations out with unrelenting force! With Supercard 12: Night of the Barons just one week away, ElJobber is already prepped to face Tyrant-Cenobite in yet another grudge match, a battle that seems unlikely to prove anything with regards to the still unresolved claims about events at Supercard 4: 2011 Ultimate Grand Prix!

8. MinnyBean d. Bofh in a close fought match.
Day 2 of Tournament 8: Grand Slam [Singles] was to be a historic date, not just for progress in the first ever co-running solo and duo tournaments, but because it produced the first ever tie in nine months of organized fighting! "Big John" Bofh and MinnyBean fought to a complete standstill during the T8 First Round, neither fighter willing to say die with tournament glory on the line!

Paired up for a Grand Slam Aftermath rematch, the pair were destined to intrigue, but unlike their tied counterparts from the T8 Second Round, these two weren't about to tease another inconclusive result! Bofh has certainly seen his fair share of fisticuffs in The Great Arena, but it was the fresh faced MinnyBean who brought a convincing fight to the rematch! The bout was contested, to be sure, but in the end, the guile and determination of the newcomer were just too good to leave anything to doubt!

7. Menas & Politics d. Celeste & ScottK in a near draw!
Tensions between the "fighting faithful" of Team Agaper and their Team Ops counterparts have been simmering through competition in recent weeks. The rivalry has emerged through competitive encounters between spiritual leaders, ZachAngel and Mark & Leroy, making a clash between their teammates a natural inevitability!

Representing some of the slightly less seasoned members of their respective factions, the quartet elevated their game dramatically under the duo division conditions! Lifting for a titanic tussle, the two teams looked like repeating the phenomenon of a draw, unwilling to submit to their opponents! Celeste & ScottK showed tremendous tenacity, but the mutual pursuit of a first duo victory spurred the Agaper combo of Menas & Politics to an impressive, hard fought win! Not that it seems likely this will be the last the teams see of each other!...

6. KombatKid d. Quirk in a near draw!
After nine months of competition, The Great Arena finally played host to its first tied fight during Tournament 8: Grand Slam [Singles]! Remarkably enough, the tournament even produced a second bout without a winner, making for the perfect post-tournament Aftermath encounters! KombatKid and Quirk went the distance on Day 5, suffering a double-elimination from the Second Round! Theoretically one of the best matched combinations possible, the pair squared off in a Pre-Show rematch, with pride on the line and a chance to prove superiority!

It was always expected to be a close match-up and the pair did not disappoint! Fighting tooth and nail toward another near draw, it was ultimately KombatKid who found the edge in their second encounter, downing Quirk late in the game!

5. SmokeRulz d. Chiefin & Vultyrex in a close fought three-way!
SmokeRulz is no stranger to being a danger to top competitors, and Chiefin has made his name as an "Upset Machine," but it was the Tournament 8: Grand Slam [Singles] First Round elimination of #11 seed, Mimik, that rekindled a fascination for upsets and made Vultyrex a name to watch once again! With their upset mojo thrown against each other, the trio made for an unpredictable three-way mixup!

In similar fashion to Tournament 8; Vultyrex struggled to match the success of eliminating Mimik! Looking strong in the early goings, the "Upset Machine" Chiefin made a meal of Vultyrex, punishing the fighter for daring to be classed in their ilk. SmokeRulz has become something of a specialist in three-way conditions, however, and had plenty to contribute. As the match escalated, Chiefin and SmokeRulz appeared only to swell, but it was the latter who had the marathon legs. SmokeRulz once again went the distances to reaffirm his status as a top flight triple threat!

4. bfk d. rxvt in a close match.
It was to be a battle of consonants in another meeting of two of the cult figures of The Great Arena! rxvt has been a beleagured battler throughout much of his career, but in recent times he has suffered particularly, a fact greatly emphasized in his loss to wife_smasher in Tournament 8: Grand Slam [Singles] and +2 pummeling in the T9 doubles!

Keen to pick up a much needed win, rxvt squared off with a relative newcomer, bfk, who offered every chance of a beatable opponent, despite the buzz that has surrounded his name since his Pre-Show 9 debut! Or at least, that was the theory. The punishment endured by rxvt in recent times appeared to take its toll, drastically effecting the strength of his assault. Endurance was the weakness that opened the close quarters duel to bfk -- earning the hero another special victory! A bitter pill for the long running, hard slogging rxvt!

3. nface d. Kiddcade in a close match.
Tying up in another exhibition bout, two of the more obscure figures in the league take full advantage of the opportunity to be showcased in the Grand Slam Aftermath! Mirror opposites, Kiddcade takes his chances with no success in his few previous appearances, while nface has begun to build something of a cult following since his recent debut, at Pre-Show 9: Destination Duo!

The rub of the crowd bolstered nface as he took control of the close fought match, finding an x-factor that Kiddcade has yet to obtain in his brief career! Though closely contested, you would have to say it was nface who showed the most promise, another rising name within the Next Phase portion of the league!

2. sucka d. Sanitized by a narrow margin!
Two of the newer names to join the fighting league; sucka and Sanitized have been frequent presences around The Great Arena during Grand Slam proceedings. Hoping to capitalize on they bouts they've witnessed, they meet for the first time in organized competition in a trial by fire!

Inexperience showed on both parts, but the tenacity and fresh perspective of their character more than made up for it. Evenly matched, it was an edge of degrees that nudged sucka into a controlling position, perhaps a confidence gained from her First Round win during Tournament 8! With almost nothing in it, sucka emerged with a second victory!

1. GreenLantern d. Angelia & Jax
They are some of the rising figures of the Next Phase and with First Round victories amongst them all in the previous fortnight's competition, The Great Arena was set for an exciting three-way battle between Angelia, Jax and the All-Star Summer Showdown winner, GreenLantern!

GreenLantern's confidence in tri-prong competition showed early, experience giving him the wherewithal to handle the multiple fields of attack. It was Jax who appeared most out of his element, coming in under par against the more seasoned of the triple. Jax' difficulty opened the fight up to a two horse race as the well matched Angelia did her best to combat the wiles of GL. It was by the slimmest of margins that GreenLantern secured himself another impressive win!

They came from beyond and conquered the land!
The Four Barons: Riders of Famine, Pestilence, War and Death, instruments of destruction wielded by the mysterious dark overlord called Lord Mislukking! They built The Great Arena on the ashes of the battlefield, and through it achieved a strange sort of peace, but theirs is a détente made of lies and deception. Born again; Kron has exposed their treacherous nature and reignites the fire of The Union of The Human League in the hopes others will fight!

Supercard 12: Night of the Barons is the moment when the Barons will be held accountable for their treachery -- providing anyone selfless enough will stand against them!

Ratt has risen to the challenge, ready to strike back against old arch-rival and Baron of Famine, Bez Busshitsu. Kron will fight the Baron of War, Ares Menschlich, who boldly claims none will have the conviction to stand against them. Could he be right?...

Championships will also be on the line as "The Unstoppable" Cr0w attempts to gain a staggering twenty-fifth straight win when he defends the Undisputed Championship to first-time contender and Tournament 7 winner, The_Purple_Bunny! The Duo Division will see "The Charmed" Hokey & Ninja_Mime face the challenge of Supercard 11 contenders, DECEPTION & Onryo, in another compelling clash for title gold!

PLUS! Personal scores will attempt to be settled when ElJobber takes on his accuser, Tyrant-Cenobite, in a rematch of the Pre-Show 11: Truth or Consequences decimation! All this and more! Stay tuned for more announcements!
