Supercard 86: Survivor Sequence - Invasion

Hard work is the virtue to which success is so often attributed. Yet, success is not attained by a single difficult act, rather the sustained commitment to unerring hard work. This ability to strive in the face of adversity is ultimately much more than the path to the pinnacle of any one field. In practice it will transcend even the mightiest of Championships, becoming unto the very instinct of survival!

Now more than ever the fighters of The Great Arena must have the will to endure! As their very way of life comes under attack, the survivor sequence is engaged by an invading force that seeks to change everything! Generations will evolve. Alliances will be challenged. Exits will be blocked. Unity unraveled... This is Supercard 86: Survivor Sequence - Invasion!

14. United: Hokey defeated United: Mimik (c) in a comprehensive victory! [+3] [Undisputed Championship]
Tensions were evident when Hokey and Mimik made it to the final three of the Night of Champions Battle Royal. The United attempted a rebuke of claims, showing unity when Hokey & Mimik teamed successfully on the September 30 edition of Friday Night Fights. When Mimik won the Undisputed Championship at Supercard 84, there were clear signs of reticence. By the middle of November, it was clear the charade could not last: Hokey cashed in the any where, any when Royal Roulette title opportunity Mimik had helped him win!

The past weighed heavily on this match, recalling a cold November in 2011, when Hokey ended Mimik's first title reign at Supercard 16: War Games. Back then they were keen rivals in a hotly contested first year. Now they were supposed to be teammates! Was that the reason for what appeared to be a sign of mercy in the match? Mimik has been plagued with inconsistency throughout his distinguished Hall of Fame career, and he looked extremely uneven against Hoky. The challenger fought with reserved enthusiasm, doing what needed to be done - but nothing more. A +3 rated impact at the end could've been so much worse. Instead, Hokey was dignified in victory. With The United choosing to remain absent from the post-match, Hokey thanked his opponent, and everyone in attendance. As was noted when the match was announced, he said very soon the reasons for his decisions will be revealed. For now, he would enjoy his Undisputed Championship win like it was the first time. An amazing conclusion to an extremely unique and intriguing title bout!

13. Kron defeated "The Chosen One" Damo in a comprehensive victory! [+8]
It hardly takes a field of former champions to recognize the danger posed by veteran legend Kron! Yet, it was a field of nine who seized upon him simultaneously at the start of the Night of Champions V Battle Royal! "The Chosen One" Damo was one of the nine, but he was also the opportunistic individual who saw to the official elimination of Kron. Something the Hall of Famer wasn't about to let go unanswered! Damo was still smarting after MAX Damage payback from Genku at Supercard 84: Return to the Dark Carnival, and as the legend stalked his prey around The Great Arena, it was clear to see Damo was no match! When Kron got his hands on the self-proclaimed "Chosen One", the match was a one-sided domination! A triumph for one of the league's original legends!

12. VenoMark defeated The_Purple_Bunny in a dominant decimation! [+1/-8] [Steel Cage Fight]
Few fighters have been quite as incensed by Mimik's Undisputed Championship win as VenoMark. Having dominated the Hall of Famer throughout the earlier part of the year, he was disgusted to see Mimik get the better of him at Night of Champions V, turning that into gold! The_Purple_Bunny has sought the title, too, trading wins with VenoMark at Supercard 84, Pre-Show 85, and Friday Night Fights. Intent on proving contender supremacy, VenoMark invited The_Purple_Bunny into the cold metallic confines of the Steel Cage! A risky strategy. The cage is known to be an environment of indiscriminate brutality. Unpredictable in nature, it has become a weaponized environment of mutual destruction for many. Yet, somehow, VenoMark has emerged with a record of 3-0. A record that increased by one when The_Purple_Bunny found himself inside a glorified rabbit trap! Facing one of the few unknowns in his distinguished career, The_Purple_Bunny succumbed totally to the violence of the cage! VenoMark looked chillingly at home, battering TPB until he could stand no more, while VenoMark emerged unscathed! A shocking victory!

11. "Team Xtreme" Marz & Violent`J (c) defeated Unknown265 & mwgrant0 in a comprehensive victory! [+4] [Duo Division Championship]
A stand-out performance during Tower of Power XVII had delivered them to a title opportunity, but it was the personal journey of Unknown265 & mwgrant0 that really made this match matter. The pair had an excellent start to the year, but when they challenged for the titles way back at Supercard 76, tragedy struck when mwgrant0 was cut down! June began the story of survival with mwgrant0's return, leading to a six month fight back to the top of the ranks! They were back on top - but not for long! Marz & Violent`J made history at the same Tower of Power that shot the challengers into the title picture. There, they guaranteed a full calendar year for the reign as champions. At Supercard 86. they extended that run to an unfathomable 392 days! It was an effortless win, leaving no amount of uncertainty, with perhaps one exception. This time - Unknown265 & mwgrant0 survived!

10. The Invasion defeated The British Exit in a Survival Sequence. [5-3]
- 1. edge (Invasion) elim. nif (Brexit)
- 2. Liam (Brexit) elim. edge (Invasion)
- 3. Jason_Voorhees (Invasion) elim. Liam (Brexit)
- 4. Jason_Voorhees (Invasion) elim. AcidicWonder (Brexit)
- 5. Jason_Voorhees (Invasion) elim. Ironize (Brexit)
- 6. ShawnMichaels (Brexit) elim. Jason_Voorhees (Invasion)
- 7. ShawnMichaels (Brexit) elim. Shen_DuHBK (Invasion)
- 8. Genku (Invasion) elim. ShawnMichaels (Brexit)
Survivors: Genku & DaemonX

Much like their recent Duo bouts, the exchange between Liam & nif and Jason_Voorhees & edge ultimately went in favour of The Invasion. JV has been getting to know much of The British Exit in recent weeks, and used to that to great advantage. AcidicWonder fell with little struggle. Ironize did better to endure Jason's offense, sneaking in a shot while tiring him out. ShawnMichaels reaped the benefits of Ironize's work, swiftly taking Brexit's second elimination. It then turned into an all-out war as he renewed hostilities with arch-nemesis Shen_DuHBK! Shen had the better of him for a while, but it soon looked like two bulls evenly locked. ShawnMichaels was able to edge out the win, but the arrival of DaemonX' enforcer The Great Genku quickly shut it down! A solid result!

9. ElJobber defeated m0s [+1]
Since quitting the league, m0s has been more "untied" from responsibility, but the memory that led him to this point remains. He's been carrying a grudge against ElJobber since early last year, projecting blame for the collapse of the KFL sub-league, and the match that ended his brother Knickxasawrrrr's career! m0s made a raucous return in August, but fell short at All-Star Summer Showdown in a disappointing effort. Even so, he's fast becoming the bad penny ElJobber can't escape -- returning to capitalize on ElJobber's heinous loss at Supercard 84 with the hope to inflict another! ElJobber was ready, but this time m0s arrived with plenty of fight in him! The capitulation that made it a one-sided fight at Supercard 82 wasn't a factor, forcing ElJobber to dig deeper to close out the match. An extra gear helped him get the monkey off his back.

8. "The United" Shoe, Artanix & Mime defeated TonyTheTiger, CaTigeReptile & Poasty [+1]
TonyTheTiger, CaTigeReptile & Poasty read like an odd trio on paper, but it's their mutual issues with The United that have given them strength. July's Royal Roulette saw the rearrangement of The United away from new management, and the beginning of new success. TTT & CTR launched an All-Star Summer Showdown alliance as a result, finding an ally in Poasty by Night of Champions V. Back from a personal hiatus after losing to TTT & CTR, Mime wiped out Poasty just two weeks ago, setting up fresh tensions for the Survivor Sequence clash! That team unity that started it all was on display as The United formed an unstoppable trio! TTT, CTR & Poasty did their best to fight, but the expertise of Shoe, Artanix and 2-time Duo champ Mime was just too great! A scintillating Supercard win for returning Mime and The United, whose solidarity would be tested later in the main event, when Royal Roulette winner Hokey would challenge United: Mimik for the Undisputed Championship!

7. Statix (c) defeated Banging in a close fought match. [+1] [KFL Championship]
A complicated plan orchestrated by ShawnMichaels delivered Banging to a KFL Championship shot earned in a late contender match. Banging disappeared after a strange encounter with Grayback a fortnight ago, but emerged according to plan at Supercard 86. The only piece of the puzzle missing was a title victory! He was supposed to bring the KFL Championship into the clutches of The British Exit, but instead, Alliance hero Statix once again proved dominion over the title! The close fought match put the pressure back on Team Brexit who would have no gold to fallback on in the event of a loss later that night.

6. The Invasion defeated The Alliance in a Survival Sequence! [5-4]
- 1. PaganFreak (Alliance) elim. Jauger (Invasion)
- 2. PaganFreak (Alliance) elim. Shaggy2Dope (Invasion)
- 3. MINION (Invasion) elim. PaganFreak (Alliance)
- 4. UlcaTron (Alliance) elim. MINION (Invasion)
- 5. hydraslash (Invasion) elim. UlcaTron (Alliance)
- 6. Rockey316 (Alliance) elim. hydraslash (Invasion)
- 7. LordSkarlet (Invasion) elim. Rockey316 (Alliance)
- 8. LordSkarlet (Invasion) elim. The_Hurricane (Alliance)
- 9. LordSkarlet (Invasion) elim. AlbertBeefcake (Alliance)
Survivor: "American Nightmare" LordSkarlet

With Violent`J occupied by a Duo Division Championship defense later in the night, The Invasion's secret weapon deferred captaincy of The Invasion to the fighter he believes could bring Undisputed gold to the group: "American Nightmare" LordSkarlet! Rounding out the team was a ragtag group of VJ loyalists, and at the start of their Survival Sequence clash with The Alliance, it seemed like The Y2Juggalo's selections were counting down to defeat! PaganFreak had no mercy for former Duo partner Jauger, but at least found a worthy opponent in Shaggy2Dope! He broke a 2-0 lead for The Alliance, but couldn't carry on against Corrupt MINION. The Fallen substitute was quick to fall to UlcaTron, who was then too fatigued to battle former partner Corrupt hydraslash! Alliance Hall of Famer Rockey316 made sure UlcaTron was avenged, and his team had a 3-on-1 advantage with eyes to victory. That's when the nightmare truly began! VJ's pick was validated in an instant as Rockey316 and The_Hurricane were effortlessly wiped out of the match! Suddenly there was only AlbertBeefcake, facing down LordSkarlet in a sudden death situation! Albo summoned that yellow bandana factor and was "rar"-ing wild all over The American Nightmare! LS was able to inflict a much needed blow, devolving the final fight into a tumbling lock-up! The arena was gripped as the two evenly matched fighters wrestled in a complete stalemate! In an amazing display, LordSkarlet was able to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat! An amazing win for The Invasion!

5. "The New Generation" DECEPTION, Baraka_MK & Onryo defeated "The Invasion" Loopster, Chromatose & MattHardy in an absolutely comprehensive result! [+2]
Bad blood between The New Generation and The Invasion goes all the way back to June, when Loopster scored a fluke win against then-Undisputed Champion DECEPTION in the Second Round of the Mid-Year Grand Slam. Loopster's allegiances have allowed him to steal a few wins against Baraka_MK & Onryo, but at Pre-Show 86: Daemon Quest, "The Hitman" finally silenced Loopster with a long await one-on-one rematch! With The Invasion stretched thin by battles with multiple foes, Loopster was fresh out of luck as The New Generation wrote the final word in their feud! Chromatose & MattHardy were just along for the ride as The New Generation absolutely dominated Loopster and his allies! A comprehensive dismissal of Loopster's early bragging!

4. CCShadow & Scott-Howell defeated Jammer2Omega & Porygonix in a comprehensive win. [+2]
Throughout 2016, Jammer2Omega & Porygonix have risen to be one of the top teams competing in the Duo Division. Their chemistry has produced some impressive wins, but at Supercard 85: Tower of Power XVII they were forced out by one of the great teams they aspire to: CCShadow & Scott-Howell! It was actually a repeat of defeats incurred at Pre-Show 85, Tower of Power XVI and the Grand Prix Show. Each has been a valuable learning experience, allowing J2O & Porygonix to measure their development against a benchmark team. At Supercard 86, they were eager to try once again, but alas, it was not a good day for the up-and-coming team. They were comprehensively done away with by the veteran tandem. A reminder that there is always more work to be done!

3. Politics & Menas defeated MKR & blacksaibot in a solid victory. [+2]
MKR & blacksaibot have never been big on personality, but they've earned a reputation over the years as a solid hard-hitting duo. They reemerged in September through a tough Tournament 74  bracket, and have made a point of making The Greek Crisis' life harder in the months since. For recently reunited fan-favourites Politics & Menas, they posed a serious threat to their on-going comeback! Fortunately, the in-form pair have eased back into competition in just the right way! Politics & Menas put together a powerful attack, taking away a very solid victory.

2. United: Murdoink defeated Sekktor and SubScorpTile (c) in a grueling three-way victory! [+3/-1/-2] [Division 2 Championship]
The race for the Division 2 Championship has brought all three Supercard 86 title fighters into conflict throughout the year. Issues with Murdoink and SubScorpTile flared after a series of matches leading up to Pre-Show 82. Murdoink struck back by eliminating SST from the Div.2 Battle Royal at All-Star Summer Showdown, but SubScorpTile again evened the score at Pre-Show 83, using the win to eventually leverage his way back to the title! Sekktor's concerns have mostly been with the Duo Division of late, leading SST behind way back at Pre-Show 81. After he won the Halloween Battle Royal, Sekktor was briefly KFL #1 Contender, but parlayed that into a Division 2 title shot. Murdoink attempted to oust him just two days ago, but officials stepped in to ensure Murdoink didn't have it that easy! The United fighter had a target on his back, but SubScorpTile's attempts to play aggressor cost him dearly, as Murdoink used his wanted status to build momentum! A new Division 2 Champion was guaranteed as SST suffered swift elimination! As the match wore on, Sekktor looked less impressive. He tried to grapple with Murdoink, but the excitement had an energizing effect! In an exciting finish, Murdoink flipped the script on Sekktor to become a two-time Division 2 Champion!

1. Mark & Leroy defeated "The Greek Crisis" maxilos & proXade in a solid win. [+1]
It doesn't take much to get The Greek Crisis riled up to fight, and they were more than happy to jump at the chance to take down one of the rising names in the Duo Division: Mark & Leroy! A hard fought win at Pre-Show 86 has put Mark & Leroy back on the contender's radar, reminding many of their success this year. maxilos & proXade were eager to snuff that out, but couldn't suppress a superior foe.
