Tournament 78: Grand Prix Warm-Up - Day 1

With Undisputed Champion VenoMark resting ahead of his main event title defense at Ultimate Grand Prix VII; the 2017 Grand Prix Warm-Up #1 seed was Genku! The obsessed former champ channeled his aggressions into the first match of the tournament, costing KittyKat dearly with a fatal result! It was a defeat that echoed through the ranks, reminding everyone of the dire risks associated with fighting this close to UGP!

vaiisekk was the fighter closest to feeling the same sting. "American Nightmare" LordSkarlet announced his intentions to lead the charge for the new Fallen with a devastating +10 impact! Team leaders were in force with The Invasion's DaemonX and The New Generation's DECEPTION both securing their place in the Second Round.

A cruel twist of the random draw pitted Superfriends AlbertBeefcake and The_Hurricane against one another for an intriguing Round 1 clash. The pair were divided by Albo's role in the Invasion Election investigation. Never the less, they fought honorably in a competitive win for last year's surprise Runner-Up: AlbertBeefcake.

Division 2 Champion Poasty was the only title holder active on Day 1. He picked up a comfortable +3 win over Mo2, setting up a Second Round clash with foahchon in a field of potential Div.2 contenders! Oozaru was also the only of his kind on Day 1 -- the recently returned Hall of Famer confidently doing away with Liam!
