Supercard 7: A Bird's Eye View!

May 22, 2011 -- At Supercard 6, Team Cr0w battled to the last fight to exact supremacy over Team Kron. Led by noted zealot for the Undisputed Championship, Cr0w, they conquered their enemies, and The Great Arena itself. A ruling majority, they exiled the members of Team Kron from The Great Arena, staging a Pre-Show that offered opportunity only to their own ranks. He may have been confronted with the fact that his team was as self-interested as he, but Cr0w was able to curb his "teammates" with the defeat of Mimik.

In a desperate attempt to restore neutrality to the fighting leagues, the powers that be organized the ultimate in free enterprise -- Tournament 5: War for the Kr0wn! It had been intended to end Cr0w's reign, but with Ratt waiting at the end to defend his well earned Undisputed Championship to the winner, the keys to the kingdom had been handed to Cr0w!

As if by destiny, Kron and Cr0w met in the Tournament 5 Final! In this, their sixth encounter, Cr0w once again vanquished his arch-nemesis in a total decimation, going on to defeat Ratt with similar confidence! Undisputed Champion for the second time, winner of the most prestigious tournament in the history of competition, and total victor of Kron; Cr0w has utterly achieved his ultimate goals! With the grandest prize of the Championship in his possession, he has total power over the fighting ranks who now seek him out, but no clear contenders...

From the vantage point of A Bird's Eye View, Cr0w surveys the warriors who intend to take what is currently his. He is a proud Champion, intent on proving his dominance against the very best despite having the power to influence a favourable outcome! With no clear contenders, Cr0w has chosen nine warriors to compete in a way that has never been seen in The Great Arena before! Nine will become three as a single victor qualifies from unique three-way fights, before fighting again in a final three-way clash to determine who will contest the Undisputed Championship!

Ratt, Kron, Genku, ElJobber, Toryn, Shoe, Ninja_Mime, Hokey and TonyTheTiger are the nine Cr0w will watch keenly from his perch at the top of the fighting ranks. In the final match he will face the best of them. The war is over! There is now only Cr0w and everybody else. This is Supercard 7: A Bird's Eye View!...

12. Cr0w d. Kron in a solid Championship defense!
Any hopes of a 'best of seven' victory for Kron went out the window with their clash in the final of Tournament 5, but with the Undisputed Championship on the line, there was certainly every chance he could leave Supercard 7 with the grand prize!

Entering the fray with a 4-2 record advantage; Cr0w still approached with some trepidation. The two-time champion was electric in his Tournament 5 sweep, only the second fighter to win two tournaments, featuring an accumulated total of 190 unsuccessful slots between them, but no doubt mindful of the fact that his as yet defenseless record as Champion came courtesy of Kron at Supercard 1.

Ready to do it one more time, both men came at the fight with a whole lot of power! Few fighters could know each other as well as Kron and Cr0w, and few fighters could have stood up to the force of their battle! With no signs of the mysterious fatigue that sapped Kron in their last meeting, it was anybody's fight in a titanic struggle! Cr0w clearly had momentum on his side from the past few months, but it was much more that carried him to victory in this seventh battle between the two. Having waited over four months for his second reign, Cr0w has matured as a fighter even if he covets the Championship more zealously than ever before! With a strong base and still goals to fight for, Cr0w could not be denied in a conclusive but not-at-all embarassing result, for Kron!

Theirs was a feud that engulfed the entire arena, seeing teams of sixteen drafted into their personal war in a bifurcation of The Great Arena at Supercard 6! When the dust settled, the victor had taken over The Great Arena, even as his team of subordinates plotted against each other. Tournament 5 may have been designed to reset the balance, but seemingly only further extended the epic saga of Cr0w versus Kron. Cr0w leaves Supercard 7 the reigning Undisputed Champion -- a title he won at T5 and could've defended against eight other challengers, but didn't.

In this, the seventh round of Cr0w versus Kron, perhaps Tournament 5 succeeded. As Cr0w moves forward, he will no doubt focus on maintaining the Championship he so obsessively pursued, and Kron? With several opportunities missed, he returns to the long list of contenders who will do their very best to take what Cr0w has earned.

11. Kron d. ElJobber & Ratt to Qualify for Championship match.
Just as he had in the previous qualifying three-way, Kron faced the prospect of being stopped by another former-Champion. Sandwiched between the two well documented friends was ElJobber, the only man vying for the shot who had been there and failed. All respectful acquaintances, the pair faced off in what promised to be a well fought, if expected clash.

Despite his recent credentials, Ratt was the one to suffer the brunt of the break away. "The Iron Man" famously entered Tournament 5 disguised as "Darkrai," despite having the opportunity to avoid competition all together as the defending Champion. Though valiant, it seems Ratt's constant willingness to fight the odds may have gotten the better of him, this time! Staggered by ElJobber, Ratt slipped out of the race while Kron rallied for his first Great Arena encounter with the seasoned star!

With ElJobber putting in the hard work to take out Ratt, Kron was able to prepare a solid assault in this exciting first-time meeting! ElJobber, on the other hand, was showing the effects of his battles, fighting well below his potential against a fighter who once again seemed destined to fight his mortal nemesis for the Undisputed Championship! He was no match for Kron -- the once exiled fighter with an apparent second-chance at glory! Would he be able to turn the tables on the high flying Cr0w, though? Ready to swoop, the bird would willingly find out!

10. DaMo & DeathScepter d. Scott-Howell & Murdoink by the narrowest of margins in close fought blockbuster!
Although DaMo & DeathScepter have only teamed together once in the past -- an unsuccessful clash with Hokey & Ninja_Mime at Supercard 4 -- they are two friends who have earned considerable kudos in The Great Arena for their individual efforts! The bizarre pair made an impressive play for the Fourth Round at Tournament 5, making them a legitimately threatening combination in their return to duo competition against the team everybody knows as the "first team of The Great Arena"!

Scott-Howell & Murdoink have all but assured their place at the top with an impressive 4-1 record, but against the likes of DaMo and DeathScepter, accolades such as these can get a little bit obscured. The bizarre duo were certainly not intimidated by the experience of their opponents, rising to a challenge that was beneath Howell & Murdoink's best, but would have taken down a lesser pair. It may be fair to suggest Howell & Murdoink were a bit lax in their approach to the unusual pair! The win is a major momentum mover for DaMo & DeathScepter, who once again sit on the cusp of the Championship contenders list!

9. Jammer2Omega d. Ghostdragon in a solid win!
One of the heroes of Tournament 5, Jammer2Omega surpassed expectations with his Round 4 berth into the 128-deep field! Having made Ghostdragon his biggest scalp in the Third Round, it was little surprise that when GD came knocking, Cr0w was more than happy to grant another of his "underrated" picks a chance to even the score.

There can be no denying that Ghostdragon has struggled to live up to his potential with a 3-9 record in The Great Arena. J2O, a steady contrast, went deep into Tournament 4, before another impressive showing at T5. The records would seem to speak for themselves as the pair engaged in a very clean, technical affair. While it would be fair to say there wasn't a lot in it, it was once again a very solid result for one of the rising stars of competition, Jammer2Omega!

8. m0s d. STEROLIZER in a comprehensive win.
Once, they stood together, united by the common pursuit of an enemy named Ken. Even when they teamed at Pre-Show 4, though, it was clear that they were not equals. While m0s made waves with a substitute win over Ken at Supercard 3; STEROLIZER is best remembered for his 1 second appearance in Battle Royale 2011 and subsequent string of eight defeats -- or at least he was!

At Supercard 6, STERO began his turn around with a somewhat opportunistic elimination of TonyTheTiger from a twelve-person Battle Royal. Nobody could take the credit away from STERO when he shocked The Great Arena, securing not one, but two victories in Tournament 5, against vaiisekk (R1) and Vultyrex (R2)!

Ever the egotist, STEROLIZER threw just about everything he had at the man that eliminated him in a contested Third Round clash! m0s may have been legitimately challenged in the T5 bout, but had clearly recovered for Supercard 7! No matter how much STERO claimed to have been cheated or wronged, he simply could not rise to a third victory in the end, going down in a comprehensive defeat.

7. MINION d. Onryo in a close fought result.
An unlikely pair to feature into the Fourth Round of Tournament 5; MINION and Onryo were eliminated by bottom-bracket dominators, ElJobber and Cr0w! With an opportunity to bounce back from modest defeats at T5, the pair proposed another curious combination for Cr0w's Supercard competition.

In battle, the pair seemed to fight in reverse tiers, with Onryo a little less than he has been capable of in the clash. MINION once again exceeded expectations of him, putting together a performance that not only propelled him beyond his station, but earned an impressive close fought result from Onryo!

6. CaTigeReptile (#16) d. Pink_Ranger (#6) to win Battle Royal!
It all began with a Battle Royal at Supercard 4, where CaTigeReptile surprised everyone when she targetted fellow fighting femmes, GuiltyByDesign and kororaa in back-to-back eliminations early in the fight. With the defeat of GBD at Pre-Show 7 only adding fuel to the fire, Cr0w provides terms to end in-fighting within The Great Arena sisterhood that bring the feud full circle -- a Battle Royal!

NovaStarr (#1) and Dolce (#2) started things off with a gusto that proved they were ready to fight -- but not in the name of a peaceful resolution! It seemed a brand new feud was about to break out as the pair set about trading blows! The arrival of LadyRaiden (#3), Kairyu (#4) and kororaa (#5) forced separation, opening the competition up to a fierce fought, evenly matched melee! If a resolution was the goal of this Battle Royal, it officially went out the window after the first five seconds!

With no eliminations, the comlpexion of the match shifted as Pink_Ranger (#6) arrived to challenge the field. Dolce attempted to cut PR off in her entrance, but was no match from the woman described by Cr0w as one of the most underrated fighters in the league! She continued to dominate the likes of LadyRaiden and lita83 (#7), but was surprisingly overshadowed by a first-time arrival called Shizuma (#8)!

Shizuma proved to be a surprise package, dominating Kairyu and kororra, who found herself double-team by she and lita83! The first eliminations came back to back as Dolce and NovaStarr went out in the reverse order they came in, take care of by LadyRaiden and Shizuma! Shizuma continued to be a dominant fixture while Pink_Ranger proved quiet in the early goings. Not as quite as GuiltyByDesign (#9), who went almost unnoticed for the majority of her fight, despite being one of the igniting factors in this massive woman's war! GBD was likely steering clear of CaTigeReptile (#16), who entered with immediate impact, repelling the amubsh of a debuting Angelia (#13)!

Twenty-four minutes since the second elimination, a third finally came when Kiara85 took out LadyRaiden! It only took CaTigeReptile a minute to add to it, sending kororaa packing, before charging through the pack to return fire to Angelia. Pink_Ranger intervened, singling CTR out for an attack that quickly ignited as a fight to watch! While lita83, Kiara85, Celeste (#18) and tabmok99s_wife (#17) appeared deadlocked; CTR, Pink_Ranger and Shizuma continued to dominate the rest of the all-present field! After thirty-five minutes, the eliminations began to open up once again. One by one the pack was thinned by this dominant trio, CaTigeReptile reprising her role as chief eliminator of her fellow women!

After a gruelling battle it finally came down to a final four with jess (#10) in the precarious position! After Pink_Ranger absolutely dominated jess, CaTigeReptile was able to eliminate her with ease in the forty-sixth minute! Pink_Ranger had no time to be offended as CTR wasted no time turning her attentions to her primary rival! The upstart of the battle, Shizuma, was left to dust as CTR and PR went tooth and nail! CaTigeReptile had all the best of it, unleashing a string of thunderous blows that would have taken out any lesser woman -- or man!

Pink_Ranger sought a reprieve, a rallying point, by turning on Shizuma. The fatigued surprise package couldn't compete with even the weakened Pink_Ranger, but the momentum simlpy wasn't there for PR to build a convincing comeback! CTR continued her barrage on PR, only to be surprised by a direct hit from Shizuma! It was the last uprising of the Battle Royal's surprise hero -- CTR eliminating her in response with a knock-out blow! With seven eliminations under her belt, CaTigeReptile made it a round eight, taking out Pink_Ranger in an exciting, if conclusive, end to the fight.

With Pink_Ranger enduring fifty minutes and twenty-six seconds, she joins the list of impressive Battle Royal endurance competitors -- and will no doubt endure to continue what is likely to become a more compelling feud than the firey fights that started this whole affair!

5. Chiefin d. Chewwi.
It was the upset that started everyone sweating! Round 2 of Tournament 5 was only Chiefin's second career match, but in a result nobody could have predicted, he felled seasoned star of The Great Arena, Ken, in a close fought battle! Without the same scale of upset, Chewwi produced a surprising debut, enduring into the Third Round and the annals of history!

With a chance to do it all over again, the two debuting dynamoes entered into a seemingly even-matched affair, but with his impressive upset credentials, it probably wasn't surprising that Chiefin looked the stronger of the two! Far from a runaway, the match proved elementary in its simplicity, a three act encounter with a beginning, middle, and end that did not shock, or amaze. Never the less, it remains consistent with Chiefin's prerogative to be an x-factor for competition in the future, another solid victory.

4. Kron d. Genku & Toryn in a Qualifier.
Considered far and away the most compelling combination arranged in the randomly drawn qualifying three-ways, this clash posed an interesting range of possibilities with two former champions, Kron and Toryn, meeting in a triangle with Tournament 1 winner and Supercard 6 Championship challenger, Genku!

With a history of under performing, Kron had to be nervous going in to a mix with the man who took his title at Supercard 3! Kron overcame his demons in a blockbuster Round 3 test during Tournament 5, but was was probably still quite grateful when Genku took the fight to Toryn, leaving him a shabby third wheel to the qualifying three-way. With the odds improved, Kron turned on a near full strength performance, a steady contrast to his defeat in the Tournament 5 Final! A fatiguing Genku could only rue another missed opportunity!

3. ElJobber d. Ninja_Mime & Shoe in a Qualifier.
Events in the past week saw Shoe go from a promising T5 Semi Finalist contender to one of the most hated men in The Great Arena! Controversially allowed to continue to compete after killing Mimik and The_Purple_Bunny in battles outside The Great Arena, the exploitative fighter had a clear mark on his back going into a match with burgeoning contender, ElJobber, and Tournament 5 Quarter Final hero, Ninja_Mime!

Ninja_Mime wasted no time getting payback for his dead pal Mimik, unleashing an annihilating +19 impact on the Tournament 5 number four seed! Shoe had absolutely no chance in the lopsided struggle, conceding early as Mime faced daunting odds against ElJobber. ElJobber, who has a 1-1 record against Cr0w after a loss in the Quarter Finals of T5, proved too strong for the darkhorse contender. A +3 impact couldn't dampen Ninja_Mime's spirits, though. He may not have won, but in the eyes of many, he certainly wasn't the loser.

2. Ratt d. TonyTheTiger & Hokey in a Qualifier.
With a shot at the Undisputed Championship waiting at the end of the night, this first of four three-way battles made for a more official beginning to Supercard 7! Featuring former-champion, Ratt, this trio had a lot of eyes watching as they entered the fray, not the least of which were Cr0w's! No one could forget Supercard 5: The Tower of Power, where Ratt defeated Cr0w in the beginning of the run that earned him the Undisputed Championship!

Hokey was disappointing in his performance, continuing the reversal of fortunes that saw him bow out uncharacteristically early in the Tournament 5 Third Round. TonyTheTiger proved an insurmountable challenge for Hokey, whose success of late has come primarily from his partnership with fellow three-way qualifier, Ninja_Mime! TonyTheTiger was able to turn that momentum into a legitimate challenge against the former champion, but Ratt, despite fatiguing over the course of the three-way struggle, was still able to exert a comprehensive win from the scramble.

1. RobertCop d. RantKid for disrupting the peace.
In a surprise appearance, RantKid entered The Great Arena ahead of proceedings, demanding the attention of the entire fighting community and audience. Despite a modest career to date -- which included a First Round elimination from Tournament 5, by Chewwi, his third overall (no wins) -- the young combatant unleashed a ranting tirade about the unfairness he was being treated with. He proclaimed that he deserved to be in the spotlight more than any of the names constantly reappearing in Championship contention.

RobertCop entered The Great Arena to end the madness! Despite being kind enough to subdue RantKid with a 0 impact, he removed the disturbance in a way only RobertCop can. The appearance marks a rare return to The Great Arena for RobertCop, whose protocols appear to remain in tact, despite his apparent reprogramming some time ago after a brief disappearance. The crowd was grateful for his intervention, which included a customary ultimatum of "conundrum".

With the legacy of Team Cr0w vs Team Kron finally dissipating, and a variety of new challengers emerging from Tournament 5 and Supercard 7, there is a whole lot of energy flying around The Great Arena! After steering the course of the entire event, Cr0w successfully defended the Undisputed Championship and seemingly put an end to his feud with Kron! The invention of a new match type -- the three-way battle -- opens up new dimensions in the contenders race as unlucky competitors begin to line-up for a second shot. The Great Arena is alive with the sound of combat and everyone is invited!

The Great Arena says goodbye to two of its rising stars, The_Purple_Bunny and Mimik. A disappointing turn of events cut short TPB's momentum filled return, while Mimik misses out on the Championship opportunity he was all but assured. Shoe, who has met opportunity with a lot of preparation, emerges from the incident as a T5 Semi Finalist and Public Enemy #1! Ninja_Mime gave Shoe what-for in their three-way tie, which also saw ElJobber reaffirm his claim to a shot at the big time. Ratt was the other three-way near miss, the man to beat as Kron exits the race after several tries.

A new breed of fighters begins to emerge through the ranks, the likes of; Jammer2Omega, CaTigeReptile, Pink_Ranger, SubMan799, Casselman, Shizuma, and Chiefin! Fists are flying and competition for the Unofficial Top Ten Ranks is only going to contine to heat up!
