Supercard 3: The Long Hard Road Results!

March 13, 2011 -- With no pre-show to fill the void, the long wait brings The Great Arena to Supercard 3: The Long Hard Road! At the end of this road lies the ultimate showcase, a supercard the likes of which has never been seen, where the greatest fighters will transcend their wins and losses to be immortalized as warriors of myth! To reach this ultimate grand prix, they must first endure the exodus of The Long Hard Road!

For championship contender, Toryn -- the long hard road began in January, during Tournament 1. His has been a path of highs and lows, carrying him trough dizzying success in exhibition comptetition, and abysmal rejection by the fighters who resented him. Now, at the end of a quest that saw five other contenders eliminated, Toryn walks The Long Hard Road toward the Undisputed Championship and it's reigning owner, Kron!

The rise of Lord Mislukking as usurper of the Cheevment Kingdom was not at all a long or arduous journey. Since his conquest in December 2010, tensions have been building between the denizens who survived his initial onslaught, and the order of Four Barons who supported him. The Long Hard Road has brought this conflict to a head, provoking Bez Busshitsu to challenge a rising star from The Union of The Human League, the winner of Tournament 3, Mimik!

This road may be long, but now, on March 13, we reach it's end...

Supercard 3 Undisputed Championship match
1. Toryn absolutely decimated Kron to become champion!
Kron came into this fight the overwhelming favourite, but his marathon combat and frequent clashes with deadly opponents had clearly taken their toll. The Great Arena was emotionally split given comparisons to Kron's pre-event onslaught against minions and the original act that earned Toryn the ire of the masses. No man could be considered a fan-favourite, but it was Kron who seemed to have the greater support. It would do him no good, however.

The Long Hard Road had a narrative in mind and it was all in favour of Toryn! An early favourite during the Tournament era, Toryn had struggled to remain in the championship hunt. He violently sought to return to the top by punishg MINION at Pre-Show 2, leading to his victory in a six-man contender battle royal at Supercard 2. With opportunity presenting it at the end of this long hard three month road, Toryn lept, unleashing his aggression against a Kron who seemed fatigued and infirm. The result -- a shocking +13 decimation of a once proud champion!

This stunning end to a forty-two day reign sets up a main event of Toryn against 2011 Battle Royale winner, ElJobber, at the first ever Arena Spectacular Supercard - The Ultimate Grand Prix! ElJobber won't be the only man gunning for Toryn as the new champion walks out of Supercard 3 with a bigger bullseye on his back than ever!

2. ElJobber defeated Cr0w in a solid win!
Eliminated from championship contention in his third title bout with Kron at Supercard 2, Cr0w's long hard road had given him nothing to treasure but distant memories. It was a stark contrast to ElJobber's journey, which promised a shot at the Undisputed Championship on the grandest stage of them all, at the end!

Even though their fortunes were reversed, the pressure was all on ElJobber, desperate to remain hot in the build-up to his shot, while Cr0w had nothing to lose. It was a match-up worthy of the main event as the two titans clashed, surprisingly even, despite Cr0w's considerable seasoning. In the end, it was a comfortable win for ElJobber, who finally proved himself to be a worthy and ready contender! After the match, even the often impetuous Cr0w had to acknowledge his opponent, even if one eye was on the possibility of facing he or his opponent in the near future...

3. Revenant Genku defeated Ratt in an upset!
Genku's long hard road began with the glory of winning Tournament 1, but had taken a strange twist in the time between Supercard 3 announcements and the special day!

In an act that defied logic, the man who had once been described as a cheated champion, threw himself on the mercy of Lord Mislukking, willfully surrendering to certain death! Driven mad by the rivalries he had built, Genku claimed to seek peace in death, hoping to avoid his regular heated encounters outside The Great Arena with Kron! Instead, Genku has risen as an eerie revenant, unable to attain the rest he claimed to seek!

Ratt figured the deadman an easy opponent, but was soon confronted with a Genku who maintained all the strengths he had in life! Fan-favourite Ratt was competitive despite his shock, but in the end, overwhelmed by Genku's still considerable experience! The T1 winner was gone as soon as he came, returning to whereabouts unknown as Ratt enjoyed the mutual disdain for Genku held by the crowd. Ratt sought instant rematch against his opponent, but was quickly shutdown. Appalled, Ratt will no doubt continue to pursue the revenant Genku, to put him back beneath the ground!

4. Bez Busshitsu narrowly defeated Mimik in a close encounter!
Having enjoyed great gains as the winner of Tournament 3, Mimik unwittingly became a natural enemy for the Baron of Famine, Bez Busshitsu! The challenge of the First Baron marks the first shot fired in what is almost certain to become an all-out war between the factions of The Union of The Human League, and the ordered henchman under the evil Lord Mislukking!

The fight went down to the wire in this close fought epic, a battle of such insignificant margin it could have gone either way! The intensity of their battle produced a +2 impact, but that result fails to acknowledge just how impressive Mimik's fight was! He remains one of the rising stars in The Great Arena, and despite the loss, will no doubt be a valued soldier as the fight with the Barons becomes more intense!

5. TonyTheTiger defeated Porygonix in a comprehensive win.
In a clash of competitors whose road to the top is yet to be complete, it was to be a decisive showdown as determination won over against expectation. Porygonix has made an impact sooner than his opponent, but TonyTheTiger's determination to come back from adversity and to fight and gain valuable experience meant the difference! A complacent Porygonix was no match for TonyTheTiger, who unleashed a forgiving, but no less comprehensive beatdown to the flagging foe.

TonyTheTiger now walks down the long hard road toward The Ultimate Grand Prix, where he will have the opportunity to confirm himself as one of the future contenders by winning on the grand stage. Who will be his opponent? That is a question only time can answer as we look toward April 3!

6. Hokey & Ninja_Mime defeated Scott-Howell & Murdoink in a punishing and comprehensive team victory!
For the first time ever, The Great Arena would play host to a two-on-two team battle! Scott-Howell and Murdoink had been regarded as enemies as recently as a month ago, but at the end of their Pre-Show 2 bout, the pair found a mutual respect for each other. Despite their bond, the impromptu combination of cordial allies, Hokey and Ninja_Mime, had much more cumulative experience on their side!

This first of it's kind fight did not disappoint, even with the gap in experience, the battle setting the bar high for future team competition! It was a hard fought +8 impact shared between the losing side as Hokey & Ninja_Mime put The Great Arena's first legitimate team away with a cohesive appearance. With the success of the experiment, team battles look sure to feature prominently at The Ultimate Grand Prix, but will either of these teams last long enough to be there? We'll find out April 3!

7. m0s defeated Ken in an incredibly close fight!
The_Purple_Bunny had originally been scheduled to compete, but a week prior to the event, he tragically suffered a fatal defeat when challenging Cr0w outside The Great Arena. With no signs of a resurrection, m0s was chosen as a last minute replacement.

m0s took full advantage of the opportunity, rising to the occasion against the unofficially ranked #9 contender! He did what The_Purple_Bunny would have wanted to, walking the long hard road toward a major victory that will no doubt have the unofficial council considering his future prospects! Ken, well liked in The Great Arena, now must question his future and whether or not he has what it takes to return for The Ultimate Grand Prix!

8. DaMo defeated STEROLIZER in a close battle!
It should've been more elementary than it was, but even with a close fight, DaMo really only had to show up. STEROLIZER famously made a name for himself at Battle Royale 2011 when he was eliminated in under a second by Ken! This reputation has preceeded him at every event, seeing STERO to one embarassment after another. DaMo, who had been down on his lucky lately, picked up a much needed boost from the win, but is it enough to spur him toward The Ultimate Grand Prix?

The Long Hard Road has finished, bringing us to the biggest moment in the history of The Great Arena! April 3 will unleash a supercard Grand Prix of epic proportions, where ElJobber will finally cash in his #1 contender status to challenge newly crowned champion, Toryn! It will also be the scene of a twenty-man battle royal, with nine of it's competitors to be decided at Pre-Show 3: Road to Redemption (March 20)! Announcements concerning the Grand Prix Supercard will be made right here as new matches are booked and new information is revealed.

As is customary, the unofficial rankings council convened to determine a new top ten list. With no Pre-Show data to complicated the decision, the list is chiefly a reshuffling of the names announced at the end of Supercard 2. The most significant omission is Genku, deemed to no longer meet the human requirements of the unofficial rankings due to his status as a revenant. These names are no less important for their familiarity. The ten will no doubt comprise the base of arena stars when the April 3 Grand Prix Supercard is officially revealed!

#2 Kron
#3 Cr0w
#4 Ratt
