Between the Olympic Games, Dead Or Alive IX, and the return of Friday Night Fights - it may have been one of the biggest weeks The League has ever seen! It's been a tough week to keep up with all the action, especially with all the major developments going on!
We had a dizzying three title changes this week! The Division 2 Championship went to "The Secret Weapon" SubScorpTile at DOA, only to bounce back to avenger45 two days later in a Friday Night Fights rematch! #1 contender Benjamin will be pleased to know the champion(s) are making life difficult for themselves. He'll get his title match at All-Star Summer Showdown coming directly from a hard hitting run as The Dream Team's first hitter in the Survival Sequence Olympic Event! Benjamin's earned seven eliminations for Team USA on Day 7 of the Olympics - fitting!
The other title switch saw "The Fallen" LordSkarlet relieved of the KFL Championship in an unexpected three-way bout that marked the return of m0s! As he explained on Friday Night Fights, it's not why he's really here, but he did enjoy claiming his third reign at the expense of the fighter who forced him out of his KFL, last year! m0s will come for revenge against ElJobber at the All-Star Summer Showdown. One of several bitter grudge matches headlining the August 21st event!
ElJobber, Scott-Howell, United: Artanix and The Great Genku rode Olympic triumphs to greater heights on the Top Ten. For every triumph their is sadness, though. While the Olympics is supposed to be about good clean competition, injuries are always a serious risk. The league lost Celeste to the Incapacitated List on Day 6, while jaytea took an unexpected hit on Day 8.
One name set to come off the Incapacitated List is "The Franchise" Poasty! His shock decimation in June was well documented, ending his Division 2 Championship reign just days after his upset victory at Pre-Show 80! The miracle resurrection of his career was fittingly announced at Dead Or Alive IX, earmarking him for an All-Star Summer Showdown return against G0LD!
