Kombat Fight League: Friday Night Fights (3/30)

Thrills, spills, chills, and no frills! The Championship era delivers another nine match card as JUST_A_TARKATAN misses out on his rematch challenge against Chryo_Spyder, while the rest of the undercard goes randomized once more! Another newcomer had it rough, avenger45 rising from tumultuous introduction during the last fortnight, to suffer the clemency of a random draw with Ninja_Mime!

redman delivered the moment of the round, finally picking up his first victory after nine weeks of blood, sweat, and XP! The victory balanced out his Week 5 tie with Methuselah6463 -- absent from the random draw, this week. Jerrod also enjoyed the sweet taste of success for a second time, picking up a solid win over Zmoke. The_Purple_Bunny was also able to improve his record, taking a massive win over old Arena rival, TonyTheTiger!

CaTigeReptile delivered a dominant performance in a punishing +9 victory over Jironobou -- setting herself up as a major prospect for the KFL Championship. CTR has the distinction of being the only person to beat both jack4183 and "Y2K" Knickxasawrrrr in solo competition, and has also delivered the highest cumulative impact to her opponents over nine weeks. With SubMan799 taking a hard fall at the hands of Nephrite, a CTR title match is all but assured!

CTR will have to adjust her gameplan. In a dramatic reversal of the Week 8 crowning, jack4813 took full advantage of his rematch opportunity against inaugural holder, Knickxasawrrrr! It was another competitive encounter, but the reigning champion found himself at halfmast against a full powered challenger!

KFL Friday Night Fights - Week 9 Results:
1. jack4813 d. "Y2K" Knickxasawrrrr (c) in a KFL Championship match!
2. The Great Genku d. Scott-Howell in a comprehensive +2 result.
3. Nephrite d. SubMan799 in a convincing +2 win.
4. CaTigeReptile d. Jironobou in a comprehensive +9 victory!
5. The_Purple_Bunny d. "The World Warrior" TonyTheTiger in a convincing +2 result.
6. Ninja_Mime d. avenger45 in a solid win.
7. redman d. Killswitch in a hard fought match!
8. Jerrod d. Zmoke
9. Chryo_Spyder d. JUST_A_TARKATAN in a close match.

With the top ranks packing a dense cluster, it's a hard fall from grace for "Y2K" Knickxasawrrrr -- the loss of his Championship sending him several rungs away from the top rank. In fitting style, new KFL Champion, jack4813, reassumes his place at the top, returning to #1 after just a week's absence. The yang to Y2K's yin; CaTigeReptile has made a charge up the ranks, emerging as the obvious #1 contender to the KFL Championship not just for her win/loss ranking and impact scores -- but for being the only fighter to have defeated both champions in previous one-on-one competition!

m0s and Ninja_Mime add experience to the top ranks, rounding out the top five. They, like many of the rest of the top five, will have much bigger goals this weekend when The Great Arena plays host to the Union's biggest event of the year -- Supercard 22: Ultimate Grand Prix 2012 -- Test of the Best!

Kombat Fight League Top Five:
#1 (7-2-0) (+1) jack4813 [+7] [Champion]
#2 (6-3-0) (+3) CaTigeReptile [+30]

#4 (6-3-0) (-3) "Y2K" Knickxasawrrrr [+9]
#5 (6-3-0) (RE) Ninja_Mime [+6]

The Championship era has officially begun! So far the path of the Championship has shown just how hotly contested the coveted prize will be. "Y2K" Knickxasawrrrr may have been unsuccessful in his first Championship defense, but it is sure to be only a minor setback for a first-year phenom who is already tearing up the ranks in both the KFL and universal leagues! jack4813 will have his work cut out for him, next week, when he takes on the menace of another rising star, CaTigeReptile!

Path of the Championship:
2. jack4813 d. "Y2K" Knickxasawrrrr (c) (Mar. 30, 2012)
1. "Y2K" Knickxasawrrrr d. jack4813 (Mar. 23, 2012)

Schedule: Prix-Show - Road to the Ultimate!

Vital to the Ultimate Grand Prix phenomenon is the everything that leads up to the epic, once-a-year Supercard! The Grand Prix element was in full swing in 2011 when UGP was preceeded by not one, but two massive Pre-Show cards -- The Road to Redemption and Grand Prix Warm-Up! It was during this marathon two-week stretch that Ratt famously earned his "Iron Man" moniker, surviving a gruelling multiple match schedule that included three bouts in a single weekend!

This year, the UGP marathon has been extended across an entire month: Grand Prix Warm-Up expanded eight-fold in scale to a full 128-fighter elimination bracket for Tournament 12 -- a true Test of the Best! With every fighter forced to run the UGP gauntlet throughout March, only one Pre-Show will stand between the masses of the League and UGP immortality! Not every fighter can make it to Ultimate Grand Prix, but thanks to the massive UGP cycle, few fighters are completely left behind!

Pre-Show 22: The Grand Prix Show - Road to the Ultimate will feature some of the many deserving fighters who will not make it to UGP2012! For some, it will be a commemoration of their near-miss with greatness, while others will find the opportunity to springboard into bigger and better things, including the rare few running the Grand Prix gauntlet toward Supercard 22!

Pre-Show 22: The Grand Prix Show - Road to the Ultimate (March 25, 2012)
1. 15-Person Battle Royal featuring the Kombat Fight League!
Members of the Kombat Fight League will have their opportunity to shine amidst the Ultimate Grand Prix season, converging on The Great Arena for a special non-KFL Battle Royal opportunity! A field of up to fifteen fighters will include jack4813, SubMan799CaTigeReptile, Scott-Howell, Nephrite and more, all duking it out in the first ever all-in brawl for the KFL! For the first time in Battle Royal history, all competitors will begin the match simultaneously, eliminating the potential benefits of a randomly drawn entry! An intriguing preview of the Grand Prix Battle Royal that will Test the Best come April 1st!

2. "The Prodigy" nface versus EasterBunny to extend his win streak to 19-0!
July 10, 2011 - a new fighter named nface makes his debut in the opening match of Pre-Show 9.
Besting an also debuting MinnyBean in a by-the-numbers close fought match, no one could have believed this inconspicuous fighter was being bred to make history! The mysterious conspiracy theory known as Project Goldberg has seemingly delivered a true Prodigy upon the league -- an undefeated phenom capable of beating every equal he faces, as well as the likes of ElJobber, plfx, and STEROLIZER! As EasterBunny attempts to reclaim his status amidst the Easter season, "The Prodigy" nface chases his nineteenth unanswered win -- a result that will deliver him to Ultimate Grand Prix 2012, where he will fight to extend his career record to an unprecedented 20-0!

3. DigbyRigby versus Bez Busshitsu
Since the January 1st ceremonial event (New Years Resolution); the Barons of Lord Mislukking have once again taken a backseat to the competitors of The Union of The Human League. Returning thanks to the mysterious energies that surround this time of year, DigbyRigby will look to reignite the feud, taking the challenge to Baron of Famine, Bez Busshitsu, in an exhibition clash that recalls the mantra of the unstoppable force meeting the immovable object! A notorious bane to the fighting league, whose unwavering tendencies have led him down the path to damnation multiple times; DigbyRigby takes up a personal mission to end Famine once and for all -- but will he survive long enough to see it through?

4. STEROLIZER versus A Pumpkin Head for A STERO For All Seasons!
Only a competitor with the unique disposition of STEROLIZER could possibly claim to be bigger than UGP or any other moment on the calendar! After defeating EasterBunny at Pre-Show 21 in a pre-Easter challenge; STEROLIZER became convinced that he was far more worthy of an annual holiday celebration than his opponent. Campaigning as A STERO For All Seasons, the egomaniacal warrior will challenge a Pumpkin Head (usually only seen around Halloween), looking to continue a streak that includes a victory over a Leprechaun at Supercard 21: The Long Hard Road!

5. Piccolo versus GreenLantern versus NightHawk in a classic rematch!
Sometimes certain combinations produce a special chemistry, unique to only those fighters in particular. That's exactly what happened at Pre-Show 9, when Piccolo, GreenLantern and NightHawk found themselves matched up in an evenly measured three-way! An otherwise passing fancy became an instant classic as the three battled tooth and nail in one of the most memorable three-way matches in history! So phenomenal was their encounter that it was soon reprised with the spotlight of Supercard 11: All-Star Summer Showdown supporting it! The triple threat will go at one more time, an exciting throwback attraction before the Test of the Best!

6. "Big John" Bofh & Dolce versus chaos_Drone & Loopster
Making their debut at Pre-Show 20: The Ground Floor; chaos_Drone & Loopster made an admirable attempt at cracking the ranks from the Challenger 7, strong in two bouts at Tower of Power IV against seasoned teams from the Duo Division. After a Quarter Final berth during Tournament 12: Grand Prix Warm-Up, chaos_Drone earned himself a solo spot in the Grand Prix Battle Royal, but will get the chance to solidify his Duo credentials at the Prix-Show, going head-to-head with longstanding pair, Bofh & Dolce in an exciting test!

7. MinnyBean versus Shamrock in a special debut!
Emerging from the ranks of the Fighting Faithful, MinnyBean was an unsuspecting participant in history when debuting as the first victim of nface's 18-0 win streak! The chance to turn the tables will arrive at Pre-Show 22 when MinnyBean inducts newcomer, Shamrock, into the ranks with a harsh first appearance as part of the Grand Prix season! A real trial by fire for an unsuspecting rookie!

8. UNdiscovered versus McDaniel
Always looking for ways to impress the powers-that-be, UNdiscovered will take the opportunity to get close to the Ultimate Grand Prix with a challenge against an opponent he could conceivably beat, McDaniel. McDaniel hasn't had many bouts in his long tenure with the League, but with a 3-0 record, he's the mirror opposite to a winless UNdiscovered, who remains hungry with an 0-4 streak.

9. sucka versus Jax
An old rivalry will be rekindled as two fighters of a certain period come together once again!
sucka and Jax have faced each other several times in the past, both in and out of event competition. With tradition in the air, they will do it once again in a tribute to their tenure with The Union!

More matches are sure to be added on the night as Pre-Show 22: The Grand Prix-Show - Road to the Ultimate unfolds in The Great Arena on March 25, 2012! It's the final official stop before the biggest event on the calendar! Stay tuned as more UGP announcements come to fruition!

Supercard 22: Ultimate Grand Prix 2012 - Test of the Best Card:
1. King Mimik versus Crow (c) for the Undisputed Championship!
2. "The Iron Man" Ratt versus "The Iron Menace" ElJobber in an Iron Man Endurance match!
3. "Mr. Daruma" m0s & "Y2K" Knickxasawrrrr vs The Great Genku & ShingoEX (c) in a grudge match for the Duo Division Championships!
4. Year of the DaMo versus "The Charmed" Hokey in a blockbuster grudge bout!
5. "Born Again" Kron versus TheNomad in a loaded 1-1 deciding match!

Kombat Fight League: Friday Night Fights (3/23)

In a highly competitive match-up between the top two ranked fighters, a KFL Champion has been crowned with the victory of #2 "Y2K" Knickxasawrrrr over #1 jack4813! With win-priority taking over, the pair switch places, fittingly delivering the first-ever KFL Champion to the top of the ladder after an impressive battle!

Brother of destruction, "Mr. Daruma" m0s, endured in the other loaded match of Week 8, excelling in his rebuttal of a grudge match against feuding foe, The Great Genku! It seems everything is going the way of the challengers as m0s & Y2K prepare for their UGP main event match agaist Genku & ShingoEX for the Duo Division Championships!

Genku's KFL fortunes continue to sour, but his early success keeps him buoyed in stark contrast to redman and Jerrod. Two of the leagues most embattled fighters found themselves grossly mismatched by the Week 8 random draw, redman paying the harsher price in a +11 loss to CaTigeReptile. Though disappointing, the harsh defeat brings with it valuable XP, and may be the exactly the result redman needs to turn his luck around. Jerrod fared much better, despite going down in a comprehensive, victorious return for "The World Warrior" TonyTheTiger.

Chryo_Spyder's fascination with three-prong kombat delivers him his first victory, inserted into the randomly drawn battle between Jironobou and dibula in an intensely close skirmish. This was Chryo_Spyder's third encounter with Jironobou, and second three-way with dibula. The fight was much more straight forward for debuting JUST_A_TARKATAN, hard pressed in a surprisingly close-fought debut against Nephrite! SubMan799 and Killswitch also picked up hard fought victories.

KFL Friday Night Fights - Week 8 Results:
1. "Y2K" Knickxasawrrrr d. jack4813 in the first KFL Championship match!
2. "Mr. Daruma" m0s d. The Great Genku in a +6 comprehensive challenge rebuttal!
3. Crow d. The_Purple_Bunny in a comprehensive +5 result!
4. "The World Warrior" TonyTheTiger d. Jerrod in a comprehensive win.
5. CaTigeReptile d. redman in a +11 demolition!
6. Chryo_Spyder d. Jironobou & dibula in a close fought three-way!
7. Killswitch d. Methuselah6463 by a narrow margin!
8. SubMan799 d. Zmoke in a hard fought match.
9. Nephrite d. JUST_A_TARKATAN in a close fought match!

The three week reign of jack4813 comes to an end in a most fitting fashion as the Kombat Fight League crowns its first KFL Champion! The battle of the top two delivers Knickxasawrrrr the #1 spot and Championship gold, the fruits of just two months of ranked competition! That's a feat that leaves even the phenom that is "Mr. Daruma" m0s for dust! Knickxasawrrrr will have a shot at making more history by securing a second championship as he and brother m0s prepare themselves for a Duo Division match at the biggest event of the major competition year, Ultimate Grand Prix 2012!

An academic performance keeps SubMan799 safely inside the top five and presumably within contention consideration. CaTigeReptile rejoins the list with a colossal +11 impact giving her the tiebreaking edge and an argument for her candidacy for the title! The points allow CTR to leapfrog Ninja_Mime, who had the week off courtesy of the random draw, but will still be a strong satellite contender thanks to some impressive wins against top shelf competitors.

Kombat Fight League Top Five:
#1 (6-2-0) (+1) "Y2K" Knickxasawrrrr [+9] [Champion]
#2 (6-2-0) (-1) jack4813 [+6]
#3 (6-3-0) (--) "Mr. Daruma" m0s [+14]
#4 (6-3-0) (--) SubMan799 [+8]
#5 (5-3-0) (RE) CaTigeReptile [+21]

knickxasawrrrr d. Zmoke - Friday Night Fights: Week 7 (Mar. 16)

The KFL Championship match takes place in tomorrows Friday Night Fights main event, March 23!
To accomodate the extra bout, the FNF card will be boosted from a standard eight matches, to nine, with a usual randomized draw making the majority of match-ups. Genku takes his UGP feud into the KFL with an official challenge to m0s, set to be the feature clash of the undercard as The Great One attempts to turn the tides on his Duo Division Championship challenger! Also in the undercard -- a 3-way clash to be determined by random draw, answering the request of Chryo_Spyder!

UGP: Allies Become Enemies as Duo Dissolves!

Brought together by Crow during the draft of Supercard 6 -- SubMan799 & Casselman went beyond their Team Crow origins, exploding onto the scene as one of the hot prospects of the Duo Division in the middle parts of 2011! With the enthusiasm and potential typical of "The Next Phase," the tandem wasted no time challenging some of the biggest pairs for the League, setting themselves the lofty goal of hunting down the likes of Scott-Howell & Murdoink!

The pair achieved the impressive feat of defeating seasoned arch-rivals Scott-Howell & Murdoink at Supercard 9, but continuously struggled to convert their success into Championship gold, remaining on the fringe of the top teams as contender bouts slipped through their fingers. The pairing saw their status dramatically downgraded by 2012, going from #6 to Challenger 7 contenders, between Tower of Powers III and IV.

The stress of a losing streak that included the Tower of Power IV C7 loss created irreperable tensions between Casselman and partner SubMan799, who began appearing more steadily in solo competition. A crushing loss to newcomers, Oozaru & Banging, set about the final demise of the pair, who could clearly no longer co-exist by the time of their final defeat at Supercard 21: The Long Hard Road -- decimated at the hands of m0s & knickxasawrrrr!

Casselman makes it official by challenging SubMan799 to yet another emotionally charged grudge match at the biggest event of the year! It will be a true Test of the Best when this longlived team-up splits in two -- the solo spawning culmination of an intense rivalry for 2012!

The demise of the Mr.Men Duo spells the arrival of another exciting solo match for UGP2012!
It was during the UGP season in 2011 that Casselman enjoyed one of his greatest successes, Runner-Up in the pre-Next Phase Tournament 4: Grand Prix Warm-Up! Could this be an omen for a new era for Casselman, or will the recent success of SubMan799 as a top five KFL competitor trump tradition? There's only a week and a half remaining until the answer is revealed!

UGP: The_Purple_Bunny Stands Alone Against Reunited Rivals!

They may have gone a massive six matches deep into the Challenger 7 phase of Tower of Power IV (February 19), but in 2012, it has been the solo aspirations of Pink_Ranger and Ghostdragon that have taken precedent.

Both were featured in the year-end Tournament 10: Masters Series -- a round robin open exclusively to the highest ranking fighters at the end of the first year. That individual success continued into 2012 at Tournament 11: Year Two Begins, where Pink_Ranger redeclared herself as a top prospect, delivering +14 impact against The_Purple_Bunny in a Third Round shocker that led to a Semi Final appearance!

Sideways conflict took Pink_Ranger the long way toward Championship contention, defeat at the hands of her former Duo Division partner responsible denying her a place in Battle Royale 2012, at Pre-Show 19: Battle Royale Qualifiers (January 15). During that time, The_Purple_Bunny was able to consolidate previous performances into an Undisputed Championship winning performance at Supercard 19, where he became the first title winner of 2012, defeating The Great Genku. The Long Hard Road would eventually and inevitably bring Pink_Ranger back to a focused approach; Supercard 21 delivering a hotly anticipated grudge match with The_Purple_Bunny, who had recently lost the top belt (to TonyTheTiger), and appeared to be a vulnerable target for would-be contenders!

In a reversal of fortunes, TPB dominated Pink_Ranger at SC21 in a belated, comprehensive response to the T11 result. Their tournament rivalry would manage to continue, however, reprised in the Second Round of Tournament 12: Grand Prix Warm-Up! The_Purple_Bunny once again put in a confident performance against Pink_Ranger, progressing to a similarly successful Third Round encounter with Ghostdragon!

The Great Arena will host the first ever handicap match when The_Purple_Bunny is forced to answer the combined challenge of Pink_Ranger & Ghostdragon -- their common enemy enough to reunite the inaugural Duo Division Champions for a competition first! Will their famed tandem prowess be the obvious winning formula in this gross grudge-fuelled mismatch, or will it be the crowning triumph for The_Purple_Bunny on his way back to the top of the League?

It seems UGP continues to deliver at every turn, promising every bit the biggest Supercard spectacular The Great Arena has ever witnessed! Seven main event worthy matches now make-up the mammoth event, with long running rivalries promising a heated affair at every stage!

Supercard 22: Ultimate Grand Prix 2012 - Test of the Best Card:

Keeping alive the tradition begun at UGP2011, a special Grand Prix Battle Royal has been among the first matches announced to Test the Best at the coming supercard spectacular, Ultimate Grand Prix 2012!

With an as yet unannounced number of participants, the multi-man match will include an eclectic mix of fighting talent, new and old! Three big names are already confirmed for the brawl, setting the tone for a main event spectacle! Tournament 12 Runner-Up, Violent`J, was joined during the week by former Undisputed Champion, Ninja_Mime, and NM rival and arena veteran, DeathScepter!

Five more entrants can now be confirmed, adding even more flavour to the mix!
Exciting newcomers, Statix and chaos_Drone, will look to make more ripples on the back of their impressive Tournament 12 Quarter Finals appearance, already versed in challenging some of the biggest names in the league, in a short time. Changing faces of the Next Phase will be represented in KFL #1 fighter and Championship contender, jack4813, opposite his predecessor and aging counterpart, Jammer2Omega! Rounding out the additions, kingjolly -- inspirational fighter who made a splash during TonyTheTiger's Championship World Tour, competing during the African leg of the rare opportunity.

The battle royal match type is renowned for elevating the status of the fighters who win it. The most famous instance is the annual forty-man Battle Royale, which this year delivered King Mimik to the UGP main event, where he will face reigning three-time Undisputed Champion, Crow. 2011 Grand Prix Battle Royal winner, Ratt, was also delivered to top contender status, his win establishing the "Iron Man" moniker that will be at the centre of his UGP2012 match, the first ever Iron Man Grand Prix Endurance match against "Iron Menace" and Battle Royale 2011 winner, ElJobber.

Battle Royal History:
ElJobber (#33) d. Genku (#36) - Supercard 1: Battle Royale 2011 [40] (Jan. 31)

UGP: Kron - Born (To Fight) Again!

Few fighters in The Union can claim to have lived as many lives as Kron!

There when competition began with Tournament 1 -- Kron was quick to establish himself as one of the top stars of the League; runner-up to Crow in the final battle of Tournament 2: Quest for a Champion, before becoming the second Undisputed Champion by defeating his arch-rival just nineteen days after the Tournament 2 crowning, at Supercard 1! The image of Kron as Champion has faded over time, but his legend has remained a sporadic constant within the walls of The Great Arena.

His legendary feud with Crow led Kron through many different phases, early on. At UGP2011, the pair were remarkably unlikely allies, united in the pursuit of a common enemy. At Supercard 6, Kron had his first taste of being a general of men, drafting an army to fight Team Crow in a bifurcation of allegiances within the Union! Defeated, Kron would became a desperate man, fighting a last ditch effort during War for the Kr0wn, only to reach a new low in the role of exile. Months of wandering without direction would lead Kron to his darkest hour, a mourned memory at Supercard 9.

Pre-Show 11: Truth or Consquences saw Kron return in his most radical new form, bringing with him secrets learned in the realm beyond. Kron became a prophet, revealing the secret machinations of Ares Menschlich -- Baron of War responsible for much of the former Champion's path throughout 2011. Kron would once again assume the role of leader, this time summoning chosen fighters charged to resume the fight against the Barons of Mislukking that had once brought he and Crow together. In his final passionate days, Kron became a desparate man again, a harbinger, daring to open a pandoras box he discovered in the realm beyond -- an old spirit of vengeance known only as Michael Lucifer. It was his last act before once again returning to the afterlife, destroyed in mad battle with Lord Mislukking!

It was the arrival of Michael Lucifer that first brought TheNomad to The Great Arena.

Though shrouded in mystery, TheNomad is another man who has clearly lived many lives, speaking a foreboding gospel of fire and lightning at the mere mention of the Lucifer name. Unable to curtail the return of The Spirit of Vengeance, TheNomad remained, watching as the warriors of The Union cheered the dark strangers victory over Ares Menschlich. January 29, 2012; TheNomad finally made his move, stepping out from the shadows he had retreated to, to make a surprise entry in Battle Royale 2012! It was here that kindred spirits first clashed -- Kron, born once again after winning a Spirit Bowl Battle Royal at Pre-Show 19 that restored him to the realm of living.

Over the course of the forty-man Battle Royale; Kron and TheNomad engaged in a mounting feud, similarly determined, mirror images of light and dark. Their battle would prove a mere prelude, neither man responsible for the others elimination in the annual brawl. Pre-Show 20 would be their formal introduction, the pair brought together in a solo clash claimed by Kron. Theirs was a long hard road only beginning, however. At Supercard 21, both men failued to secure victory in a three-way match won by Violent`J -- another mysterious newcomer claiming to have a connection with TheNomad! On the way to becoming Runner-Up, Violent`J would eliminate TheNomad from Tournament 12: Grand Prix Warm-Up -- but not before TheNomad secured a Second Round elimination of Kron with convincing results!

Caught in the tide of events neither can fully comprehend, "Born Again" Kron and TheNomad will attempt to settle their scores with a third deciding match at Ultimate Grand Prix 2012 - Test of the Best! It will be the ultimate opportunity for Kron to asset himself in this latest regeneration as a contender, once more, but that possibility is a two-way street! It's another blockbuster main event booked in for April, when The Great Arena plays host to the biggest event of all time!

6. Grand Prix Battle Royal featuring Violent`J, Ninja_Mime & DeathScepter!

UGP: DaMo Not Finished With "Charmed" Rival!

As a stalwart of competition, DaMo has enjoyed a long and memorable career in The Great Arena, particularly as one of the top shelf talents in the Duo Division. It was during Battle Royale 2012, however, that DaMo declared a bold new era for himself, starting with a dominant performance in the second annual forty-man battle royal. This proclamation of the Year of the DaMo came at the expense of several other Battle Royale hopefuls, including an uncharacteristically unlucky Hokey!

Matched up at Pre-Show 20: The Ground Floor; Hokey had the opportunity to even the score for his abrupt elimination, going one-on-one with Year of the DaMo. The pair delivered an instant classic in the calibre of their Duo battle at All-Star Summer Showdown, even more exceptionally well matched as individuals! Despite DaMo's best efforts, however, the blockbuster encounter would go Hokey's way.

After reteaming with DeathScepter in a dominant Tower of Power IV performance; DaMo returned to solo competition to challenge Hokey's former Championship partner, Ninja_Mime, to a clash at Pre-Show 21: Tower Fallout. Motivated by the disappointment of Hokey & Ninja_Mime not contesting the Supercard 20 Duo Tower; DaMo still failed to exact any payback, defeated swiftly by Ninja_Mime, while Hokey did away with DeathScepter in another match.

The mounting grudge saw an inevitable rematch between the actual foes at Supercard 21: The Long Hard Road. All roads led Year of the DaMo to a conclusive victory over "The Charmed" Hokey, but rather than put the feud to rest, the turning tables provoked a greater mutual resentment! As if brought together by the sheer magnetism of their rivalry; Hokey and DaMo met once again, this time in the Fourth Round of Tournament 12: Grand Prix Warm-Up! Having made his name as one of the league's top tournament competitors, Hokey did not disappoint, charming his way to the T12 finals in a reversal of fates played out in Battle Royale 2012! Hokey failed to win, finding himself a surprise elimination in the Quarter Finals, but the Grand Prix Warm-Up did its job.

More incensed than before, Year of the DaMo will look to have the final say in his compelling feud with "The Charmed" Hokey in another fierce grudge bout! It will truly be a Test of the Best, the final battle to immortalize both, and deliver one contender a step closer to the ultimate solo prize!

PLUS! While DaMo and Hokey duke it out mano-a-mano -- Ninja_Mime and DeathScepter will join the massive mystery line-up of a hotly anticipated Grand Prix Battle Royal! Even with only five matches confirmed, Ultimate Grand Prix 2012 - Test of the Best is living up to every claim that it will be the biggest event The Great Arena has ever seen!

5. Grand Prix Battle Royal featuring Violent`J, Ninja_Mime & DeathScepter!

Kombat Fight League: Friday Night Fights (3/16)

The Kombat Fight League continues to take on intriguing new shades as a second month of competition draws near its close! With rumors of a KFL Championship being launched soon, the random draw delivered a string of consolidating victories to the power players! By far the most one-sided round, Week 7 delivered +6 and +5 impacts at the top and bottom of the card!

The Great Genku and CaTigeReptile made plenty of noise in their comprehensive disposal of mismatched opponents! Scott-Howell may have a long history in The Great Arena, but against Genku, the differences in their competition breeding and potential was expose in the +6! CaTigeReptile looked confident in a more expected win over Killswitch, the benefit of a new phase in CTR's regimen which has seen an increase in power!

Not to be outdone by the impact players -- jack4813 continued his dream run, extending his record to an impressive and unrivalled 6-1 with victory in the match of the round, with Nephrite! As KFL kombatants, jack and Nephrite have developed in parallel, making theirs a pairing that will inevitably repeated. "Mr. Daruma" m0s had success against Duo Division legend and challenge foe, Ninja_Mime, fine preparation for his Championship match at the non-KFL annual major, Ultimate Grand Prix - Test of the Best! "Y2K" knickxasawrrrr made it a clean sweap for the brothers, never in doubt against Zmoke.

The story of Week 7 might very well have been the first win for Jerrod!
Chryo_Spyder (formerly kamikaze-dragon1) issued an open challenge for a three-way match, finding himself randomly matched with Jerrod and dibula. The challenger was quickly disposed of, under strength in a gruelling battle that came down to the wire, breaking the Jerrod losing streak. Favourite fellow winless competitor, redman, had no such luck in his grossly mismatched encounter with veteran kombatant, The_Purple_Bunny. redman still carries the bitter near miss of a draw with Methuselah6364 in Week 5 -- but hasn't shown any inkling of a grudge, proving he's a great guy!

KFL Friday Night Fights - Week 7 Results:
1. "Mr. Daruma" m0s d. Ninja_Mime in a convincing +2 challenge!
2. The Great Genku d. Scott-Howell in a comprehensive +6 victory!
3. The_Purple_Bunny d. redman in convincing fashion.
4. jack4813 d. Nephrite in convincing fashion.
5. "Y2K" knickxasawrrrr d. Zmoke in a solid +2 win.
6. SubMan799 d. Methuselah6463 in a convincing +2 victory.
7. Jerrod d. dibula & Chryo_Spyder in a gruelling 3-way!
8. CaTigeReptile d. Killswitch in a comprehensive +5 victory!

Ninja_Mime's loss was Mr. Daruma's gain, the challenge match delivering a switch that saw Mime plummet from his lofty top spot. m0s continues to follow behind his brother, "Y2K" knickxasawrrrr, whose surprise ascension has reached its apex this week! Only jack4813 stands between the Y2K problem and ultimate victory -- a testament to the fortunes and power of the #1 fighter, whose third week on top passed. SubMan799 returned to the top five for the first time since February (Week 4), joining the 5-3 triple threat (#3-#5)! With rumors of the activtion of a KFL Championship, these five kombatants are surely the frontrunners to be crowned the first -- but will such an accolade be a career maker, or the target on their back that destroys them?

Kombat Fight League Top Five:
#1 (6-1-0) (--) jack4813 [+6]
#2 (5-2-0) (+2) "Y2K" knickxasawrrrr [+8]
#3 (5-3-0) (+2) "Mr. Daruma" m0s [+8]
#4 (5-3-0) (RE) SubMan799 [+7]
#5 (5-3-0) (-3) Ninja_Mime [+5]

UGP: There Can Be Only One Iron Fighter - Ratt Says Do or Die!

The rivalry between Ratt and ElJobber has been growing steadily for months.
Running in parallel; the feuding pair were a natural choice to converge for one of the first matches announced for the biggest event of the fight calendar, Ultimate Grand Prix 2012! Bitter rivals said to represent two sides of the same coin, it seemed as if this epic encounter -- months in the making -- couldn't be topped, but in a response to recent comments from ElJobber, "The Iron Man" Ratt delivered an announcement that took The Test of the Best to a whole new level!

As two of the biggest names in competition, their association by success has been inevitable, but the two have had much more in common over time than that! Once upon a time, ElJobber was considered the "conscience" of The Great Arena, while Ratt undoubtedly represented the "heart" and undying spirit of the entire competition. If you asked either competitor today, however, they would say the other has betrayed their legacy, becoming the very thing they once stood against.

ElJobber escalated the feud between the two, taunting with his Tournament 12: Grand Prix Warm-Up victory -- a contrast to Ratt's shock First Round exist to vastly lower ranked competitor, Skizelli. ElJobber has been critical of Ratt ever since he returned from shock departure as a member of Team Turncoat (in November). ElJobber claims Ratt turned his back on the people who believed in him, taking the cowardly way out of the fight with The Barons of Lord Mislukking and other threats to The Union, and deserves no praise. Ratt, on the other hand, is repulsed by ElJobber's MAX Damage Boot Camp: a mirror image of Ratt's own trademark Open Challenge, with the inverted exception that ElJobber hand selects weaker opponents in the hopes of destroying them, while Ratt offers opportunity to any opponent wanting to fight him.

Riding high on his success; "The Iron Menace" ElJobber claimed he'd induct Ratt into his -30 Boot Camp at Ultimate Grand Prix 2012 without any problem, proving he is the fighter with the true iron will. Unphased, the original "Iron Man" has fired back with a stipulation that forces ElJobber to put his money where his mouth is! With support from the Union council, Ratt has officially transformed their venomous grudge match into the first ever Iron Man Grand Prix Endurance Match!

Per the rules of the unique match type, it will be a last man standing scenario.
For a set time limit, the two men will do battle, attempting to inflict a maximum of damage upon the other until one of two things happens -- either the time limit ends, or the other fighter is so mortally wounded he is unable to continue! The match lives up to every aspect of the affair, combining ElJobber's goals for MAX Damage, and Ratt's never-say-die endurance philosophy!

A stipulation designed to shorten the lives of either competitor, it is promised that only one Iron Fighter will walk out of The Great Arena -- while the other is carried out!

An Ultimate Grand Prix match in every sense, this truly will be a Test of the Best!
So significant is the encounter that it is already expected the winner (& survivor) will instantly become #1 contender for the Undisputed Championship! Even with this enticing reward added to the match-up, ElJobber has been rendered silenced by the announcement! It seems the once boastful T12 winner has been shaken up, the mind games now well in favour of Ratt heading toward April!

In the tradition started by UGP2011, the 2012 event promises to be the biggest event The Great Arena has ever hosted! With a dramatic new match type set to debut at the event, the fights already announced are enough to ensure this will be a Supercard like no other!

4. Grand Prix Battle Royal featuring Tournament 12 Runner-Up, Violent`J!

Ultimate Grand Prix 2012 - Test of the Best takes places April 1st!

Championship Preview: Y2Knickxasawrrrr - The Difference Maker for m0s?

If 2012 could thus far be defined by a single feud, it has without a doubt been the fearsome private war waged between "Mr. Daruma" m0s and one-half of the reigning Duo Division Champions, The Great Genku! Theirs was a feud that started seemingly incidentally, the random draw for Tournament 11: Year Two Begins delivering one of the most shocking First Round matches in tour history when m0s found himself matched with #1 seed, Genku, in the very first fight. That random encounter would prove to be an act of destiny, compelling The Banzuke's only two Daruma 7 arcade winners into a far more serious game of personal animosity and fighting aspirations.

Genku's eventual victory in Tournament 11 would spur him to begin a quest to become the first-ever "Triple Crown" winner, having held the Undisputed Championship throughout the tournament (won December 18). With only the Duo Division Championships needed to complete the unprecedented feat, Genku formed a partnership with ShingoEX ahead of Supercard 20: Tower of Power IV -- where the Duo Division title would be contested by up to seventeen teams in the Tower of Power format, for the second time. A seasoned tandem competitor, m0s challenged Genku for a second time, teamed with longtime ally and Duo partner, Nemesis316, in a grudge bout warm-up at Pre-Show 20: The Ground Floor. The match would bolster each teams contention prospects, positioning winners Genku & ShingoEX in the advantageous position of #2 on the Tower, while m0s & Nemesis316 hit #5.

Genku may have lost the Undisputed Championship to The_Purple_Bunny at Supercard 19: Battle Royale 2012, but his goals for cross-title greatness were still realized with a monumentous title winning performance at Tower of Power IV! It took Genku & ShingoEX just three wins from the #2 spot to claim gold -- one result better than m0s & Nemesis316, who, despite taking out two top teams, did not face the eventual winners. The disappointment of missing a huge opportunity, coupled with Genku's rapid success in a division m0s had dominated throughout 2011, created tensions between "Mr. Daruma" and his partner.

The Genku/m0s rivalry had already spilled over into the Kombat Fight League before Tower of Power, granting Genku yet another victory over his rival in a main event match, Week 1 of Friday Night Fights. It was one week later, during the February 10 FNF event, that saw knickxasawrrrr debut in the KFL. Enjoying all the advantages of being the fighting brother of m0s; knickxasawrrrr used his knowledge and training to burst onto the scene with a lengthy win streak, going 4-0 at Pre-Show 21: Tower Fallout when he took out Nemesis316 in a match that officially confirmed the arrival of The Great Arena's first brotherly combo!

Earning the nickname "Y2K" in a string of impressive and sometimes unexpected victories; knickxasawrrrr has become the problematic X-factor for the fighting ranks of KFL and The Union of the Human League, both. At Supercard 21: The Long Hard Road, m0s & knickxasawrrrr dominated SubMan799 & Casselman, establishing themselves immediately as top contenders on the back of m0s' already compelling cache in the Duo Division! Good fortunes would continue for the pair in solo competition as well! While Genku was shock elimination in Round 2 (courtesy of Darfus); m0s would comprehensively do away with ShingoEX in R2, and knickxasawrrrr would take care of Darfus effortlessly in Round 3, on the way to an impressive Fourth Round stint!

The culmination of The Y2Knickxasawrrrr Problem and and the turning tides in the Genku/m0s feud would come at Friday Night Fights: Week 6 (March 9), where a random draw would deliver "Y2K" knickxasawrrrr to a stunning comprehensive victory over The Great Genku! The upset win raises the question: will knickxasawrrrr be the difference maker when the rivalry of 2012 is finally settled at Supercard 22: Ultimate Grand Prix 2012 -- Test of the Best? "Mr. Daruma" m0s will certainly hope so as he attempts to claim sweet victory and his first official Championship in what is sure to be one of the most hotly anticipated match-ups for the year's biggest events!

UGP: Battle Royal Joins Grand Prix Line-Up!

It was April 3, 2011 that a Great Arena tradition was created!
At Supercard 4: Ultimate Grand Prix - The Arena Spectacular, a mammoth thirty competitors competed in a Battle Royal that forged a dynasty! The massive contender brawl not only delivered Ratt to his famous Championship victory at Supercard 5, but was also vital to the creation of the "Iron Man" mythos -- one of three matches Ratt won during the massive UGP 2011 weekend!

In 2012, the Ultimate Grand Prix will do it all again, with a Battle Royal match officially announced for the April 1 event today! Tournament 12: Grand Prix Warm-Up runner-up and relative newcomer to The Great Arena, Violent`J, is already tipped to be among the many entrants who will do battle on the grandest stage of them all! No contender stipulations have been added to the match, but the rare opportunity is sure to deliver one fighter to the next stage in their career -- if they can survive the UGP test!

The king of the Battle Royal match, King Mimik, will cash-in the opportunity he earned by winning Battle Royale 2012 when he faces prodigal son, Crow, in a main event match for the covetted Undisputed Championship! Grand Prix Battle Royal 2011 winner, "The Iron Man" Ratt, is also booked in a blockbuster match when he faces "Iron Menace" ElJobber in a big time grudge bout that continues to heat up!

Supercard 22: Ultimate Grand Prix 2012 - Test of the Best Card:
1. King Mimik versus Crow (c) for the Undisputed Championship!
2. "The Iron Man" Ratt versus "The Iron Menace" ElJobber in a blockbuster grudge match!
3. Grand Prix Battle Royal featuring Tournament 12 Runner-Up, Violent`J!

UGP: Tournament 12 Winner Confident for April!

With his Tournament 12: Grand Prix Warm-Up victory fresh in mind, "The Iron Menace" ElJobber was quick to declare confidence in the direction of beleaguered arch-rival, "The Iron Man" Ratt. The pair are currently scheduled to face each other in one of the first marquee match-ups announced for Ultimate Grand Prix 2012, the realization of a rivalry between two sides of the same coin, brewing for months in equal opposites!

Ratt famously emerged as the "Iron Man" of The Great Arena during last year's UGP cycle, performing the feat of winning a duo match, battle royal and grudge match during the weekend of Supercard 4: Ultimate Grand Prix 2011 - The Arena Spectacular -- a feat that has come to characterize his never-say-die performances and trademark Open Challenge that exposed him to attack from any number of foes -- including some of the most powerful entities in the realm. ElJobber's path to becoming an "Iron Menace" ironically began at the same event, where an attack on Tyrant-Cenobite set in motion events that would lead to a conspiracy against the fan-favourite, whose attitude soured at Supercard 10: Tower of Power II, part of a plot by Toryn to turn the people against his UGP 2011 rival. As a hardened individual no longer concerned with the perceptions of the crowd, ElJobber launched his MAX Damage Boot Camp, selecting weakened opponents in an attempt to secure +30 impacts.

The mirrored story between ElJobber and Ratt continued during Tournament 12, the first title ElJobber has secured since his win over a year ago, at Supercard 1: Battle Royale 2011. Ratt -- a former two-time Undisputed Champion and frequent tournament finalist -- experienced the exact opposite, a shock First Round elimination via significantly lower ranked competitor, Skizelli!

The polarized performances at T12 were the basis of ElJobber's taunting comments, wherein he boastfully claimed Ratt was an Iron Man no more. Recounting Ratt's difficulty to return to the unofficial contender rankings in 2012, ElJobber claimed he would easily induct Ratt into the MAX Damage Boot Camp on the grandest stage of them all, Ultimate Grand Prix 2012 - Test of the Best.

ElJobber has been critical of Ratt ever since he departed to join Team Turncoat -- a group of fighters who sought to run from the dominating presence of the Four Barons of Lord Mislukking, rather than fight it. Ratt returned after a month long absence in December, fighting Professor Machinista at the Enter the 7 Masters special event. He has struggled to reclaim the same lofty success he had as a two-time Undisputed Champion and co-winner of the Best Fighter of 2011Award, but will return to full force, should he defeat ElJobber in the battle of the Iron Men!

With the personal feud and power of these two legendary fighters, this is sure to be one of the biggest matches The Great Arena has ever seen, at the biggest event ever seen!

Kombat Fight League: Friday Night Fights (3/9)

Round 4 of Tournament 12 may have delivered The_Purple_Bunny another grudge match just one day prior, but the sting of losing the Undisputed Championship had clearly carried over into the Kombat Fight League as TPB issued another challenge in Week 6! A three-way with "The World Warrior" TonyTheTiger and "Mr. Daruma" m0s would backfire as the pair overwhelmed The_Purple_Bunny, taking him out early in a gruelling blockbuster encounter!

"Y2K" knickxasawrrrr gave The Great Genku serious problems, making it a double for the KFL brothers with a stunning unexpected victory! The win no doubt sweetened the disappointment of a loss to chaos_Drone one day prior, during a compelling Tournament 12 match. knickxasawrrrr continues to position himself well in The Great Arena, maintaining a top five spot with the upset win against his brother's rival. knickxasawrrrr will be a change in formula when he teams with m0s at Ultimate Grand Prix 2012 - Test of the Best, in a match against Genku and ShingoEX for the Duo Division Championships!
Topping the KFL ranks, jack4813 with a convincing win against a beleaguered Jerrod. Both Jerrod and redman are yet to secure a KFL victory, redman drawn for a bye. Nephrite had better luck in a surprising nailbiter with Killswitch; while kamikaze-dragon1 missed out in a close fought challenge match against his Week 5 opponent, Jironobou.

KFL Friday Night Fights - Week 6 Results:
1. "Mr. Daruma" m0s d. TonyTheTiger & The_Purple_Bunny in a gruelling 3-way challenge!
2. Ninja_Mime d. CaTigeReptile in a comprehensive result.
3. "Y2K" knickxasawrrrr d. The Great Genku in a comprehensive victory!
4. Nephrite d. Killswitch in a close fought match.
5. jack4813 d. Jerrod in convincing fashion.
6. Methuselah6463 d. Zmoke by a narrow margin!
7. SubMan799 d. dibula in a convincing +2 result.
8. Jironobou d. kamikaze-dragon1 in a close fought challenge!

jack4813 continues to be the dark horse of the Kombat Fight League, maintaining control of the top of the ranks as he and Ninja_Mime maintain a breakaway lead. A main event win has finally given "Mr. Daruma" m0s a ranking reflective of his potential, impact points bumping him into fifth behind his rising brother, "Y2K" knickxasawrrrr. As impressive a performance as it's been for Y2K, the surprise package remains Methuselah6463, a fighter who has flourished well beyond his class since debuting in the KFL!
