Back in April, "American Dream" Scott-Howell began a campaign defined by the slogan "How can we change? Howell can change!" On May 2nd, he brought that campaign to Monday Night Invasion, where he saw the chance to do some good by bringing harmony to the warring factions of The Invasion and The Alliance.
Howell faced fearsome opposition from both sides, enduring vicious attacks from The Alliance and The Invasion both. His long time Duo Division partner CCShadow helped him endure the offensive, giving him the support he needed to see his campaign through to its legacy! While he and CCShadow embark on Duo Division Championship glory, "The American Dream" negotiated to surrender the moniker he earned one July 4th in the past, and bestow it upon a winner of the first ever American Dream #1 Contenders Battle Royal!
Thus, the July 4th edition of Monday Night Invasion plays host to a single match! A thirty-fighter elimination blitz that would leave standing a new "American Dream" and a new #1 contender to the coveted KFL Championship! Exactly the opportunity Scott-Howell had in 2014 when he won the KFL Championship during an edition of the original sub-league Friday Night Fights!
Howell's hope for unity through equal opportunity didn't quite have the desired effect. The Invasion struggled to work together as tensions stemming from The British Invasion created disharmony within the group. Loyalties cracked under the pressure as some Invasion members teamed up to hurt the chances of heavyweight recruit Hokey! Even The European Union struggled as the prospect of a KFL title shot sent them into a poorly organized frenzy!
Jason_Voorhees brashly eliminated Invasion leader ShawnMichaels in one of the most shocking moments of the match - unlucky thirteen! He worked closely with DaemonX & Banging, who were workman-like in their systematic attack on a crowded field. They worked largely in a support role, but as the teams tore each other apart, Banging fast emerged as The Invasion's strongest contender!
"The Fallen" LordSkarlet and Hokey struggled from the very beginning of the match, attracting heavy attention from all sides! LordSkarlet found himself particularly besieged, fending off one double team before the next. He was sandwiched between the various groups, but still managed to endure despite his Fallen allies Corrupt hydraslash and UlcaTron were eliminated early!
LordSkarlet changed the dynamic of the match when he was able to capitalize on the work of the many to eliminated Hokey! Alone with The Invasion after Banging eliminated surprise European stand-out giandavil, he managed to exhaust the power plays of DaemonX and Jason_Voorhees! That made the Final Four an Invasion favouring: LordSkarlet, TripleH, Rhyno & Banging!
Rhyno and TripleH had betrayed their Invasion allies early in the match to surprising success, and Rhyno continued the trend with a shock elimination! LordSkarlet took full advantage, catching Rhyno immediately off of his turn! This turned the match into a one-on-one war between "The Fallen" LordSkarlet and Banging! A battle that started in Banging's favour, but soon turned in the advantage of LordSkarlet! He overwhelmed The Invasion fighter to once again emerge as the #1 contender to the KFL Championship -- a second-chance after his loss last week!
Standing alone and victorious in the middle of The Great Arena, LordSkarlet boasted about enduring against overwhelming odds and the attack of multiple factions! He said Scott-Howell would have to be an idiot to think he was about to call himself "The American Dream". He said this proves The American Dream has fallen, just as he has fallen - not from grace - but into his destiny. He warned Statix that he wouldn't be making the same mistake twice. He won't rush into anything. He's going to win on his own terms. This time the KFL Championship will be his!
