The influence of Night of Champions V could still be felt right through to Pre-Show 84: A Lovely Tea Party, where United: Mimik unexpectedly shot to the top of the Undisputed Championship race! It's impossible to believe his #1 Contender win won't put more strain on The United, further pressing the rivalry between he and Royal Roulette / Night of Champions winner Hokey! It should be exciting to see DECEPTION defend against yet another fresh opponent, though!
Violent`J may have improved his odds of reaching 350 days as Duo Division Champion thanks to a carefully orchestrated attack on NightHawk! Between this week's Monday Night Invasion and Pre-Show 84, NightHawk took a death-defying +23p impact! He'll be in bad shape when he heads in to Supercard 84: Return to the Dark Carnival! Oh, and that Monday beat down? All part of the initiation of LordSkarlet & The Fallen into the growing ranks of The Invasion! Their admission instantly shot them into The Invasion Top 10. VJ thinks LordSkarlet could be an Undisputed title contender, but that may be a little premature. DaemonX doesn't agree, putting his chips behind the proven talents of The Great Genku.
Sad to see ArtemisFlow miss his opportunity to claim the Division 2 title. SubScorpTile is proving to have unexpected staying power! The Division 2 scene continues to heat up, though. Nephrite, Politics, Murdoink and Chromatose all scored compelling wins at Pre-Show 84. They could be names to watch in a few weeks when Tournament 75: Division 2 Championship V brings them together in elimination bracket competition!
The next big stop in October is Supercard 84 - the first of two Supercards this month! We'll of course be looking forward to the next Tower of Power in a few weeks, but first it's another event that takes its name from the canon of Violent`J! Dark Carnival was a 2003 joint event from ICWW and Team Xtreme's IWA. An interesting omen for their 350th day as champs, considering they lost the Tag Team Championships in the main event of the first Dark Carnival!
