Friday Night Fights (September 2, 2016)

We knew the return of Friday Night Fights after a week off for the 2016 Summer Grand Slam was going to come with some hefty grudges -- but nobody predicted just where the fight between The United and their foes was going to go!

In a week that saw Monday Night Invasion devolve into an all out melee, things on Friday Night Fights were relatively sedate. Never the less, the double main event announced during the week delivered more than promised when Poasty added himself to a clash between Shoe and "The Predator" TonyTheTiger! He was looking to settle the score for a disappointing return to tournament action - eliminated in the First Round by Shoe! He made a fair challenge, but Shoe was able to take Poasty out of the equation -- returning his focus to The Predator who caught Mime in an ambush at All-Star Summer Showdown!

TTT's trap was sprung with help from "The Guardian" CaTigeReptile, who had also been a victim of The United's team domination of the 2016 Royal Roulette match! For her role in beating down Mime, she was challenged by RR adversary Artanix. Little did he suspect she would be totally prepared and inflict a devastating +29 impact -- just 1p shy of MAX! It seems clear tensions between The United and The Guardian & The Predator are destined to continue!

The Division 2 rivalry between SubScorpTile and Murdoink was also ready to continue on Friday Night Fights. Murdoink got the better of SST in the All-Star Summer Showdown Battle Royal, but The Secret Weapon was able to turn the tables back in his favour with a well earned win.

Politics was named Division 2 #1 contender in an announcement yesterday, but the win puts SST back in the hunt. The champion who kept him out of the All-Star Summer Showdown title match, avenger45, will also be at the forefront of contention after he fended off the challenge of Olympic darling Jerrod!

The legacy of the Olympics has clearly had a negative effect on the short-lived European Union! The breakdown was evident during the Monday Night Invasion melee, and was on display for all to see as The Greek Crisis took on former Euro allies Nephrite & Sgtf! A definitive nail in the coffin of the union that formed in response to The British Exit, who were defeated at Pre-Show 81.
