ICWW: Aftershock (01/10/03)

ICWW: AFTERSHOCK                      JANUARY 10, 2003

ICWW: Aftershock opened with Buddy Luv as the crowd went absolutely wild. The last show before Dead or Alive III certainly had people excited, speculation surrounding Jason Shamrock was the topic as the show opened.  Buddy Luv pointed out that Shamrock had not been seen very regularly in ICWW, and speculated that he might not show for his title match at Dead Or Alive. Also later in the night Lucifer would face the Beefer, and Marz Loopster.

Shawn Michaels came out to the ring and said that he had a pretty big match at DOA, having to take on both Oozaru and Jason Shamrock. He said he'd been training hard, and needed someone to help him one last time before DOA. He offered anyone in the back a shot at the champ, only to be met with Banging's theme music. Banging raced down to the ring and ducked under the Sweet Chin Music and dropped the champ with a Samoan drop. The champ wasn't ready for the impact attack, and got taken down when Banging reversed his belly to belly suplex. Banging hit the Kiwi Bomb and finished the champ off, leaving question about Michaels' chances at DOA.

Backstage the Super Friends were together discussing Michael Lucifer. Jesseman told Albert that Lucifer was evil, and he refused to declare, which meant he would have to be declared! Jesseman said that Albert had an incredible grasp of the mysterious yellow bandana force, and he needed to harness this energy because Lucifer had his own evil, dark forces that made him powerful. He said Albert would never be alone, and that if he didn't succeed at first they could always try, and try, and try again until they did. Albert said "rar".

Ghrimm entered the ring with his hardcore championship belt, and said that some people had questioned his ability, but he was an undefeated hardcore champion. He said that he was so confident in himself that he would defend his belt to absolutely anyone who wanted a shot. Scott Steiner made his way to the ring and the match began. Ghrimm used the microphone as a weapon, delivering stinging shots to Steiner's head. Steiner slammed Ghrimm down with a spinebuster, and then taunted the crowd while Ghrimm rolled to the outside. Ghrimm returned to the ring and nailed the showboating Steiner with the chair repeatedly before hitting the Dro Slam onto the chair. Ghrimm got the cover to retain his title, and remain undefeated in ICWW.

Rhyno made his way to the ring and said that he was the best of the best, just like all the old blood were. He said that the ways of ICWW were wrong, he said the problem with people is that they're always trying to fix what isn't broken. Suddenly Oozaru's music cut Rhyno off. Oozaru appeared at the entrance way and said that Rhyno was an idiot if he really thought he was going to change anything other than his underwear. Rhyno glared at Oozaru and said he was disappointed. He expected Oozaru to understand the need for the old blood to rise to the top once again, and he was going to make it happen by taking over Aftershock right then and there. Oozaru said that he had one of the most impressive win/loss records on Aftershock, and he wasn't budging. Rhyno told Oozaru he should stay right where he was then, and guaranteed that he would be taking over soon.

Backstage Albert Beefcake and the Super Friends were standing in front of a monitor discussing what Rhyno just said. Jesseman said that he had a good point, that the old blood had been harshly tossed aside in favour of newcomers and it wasn't just! He said that maybe they should keep that in mind, being the oldest of the old. Then Jesseman said it was time for Albert to face Michael Lucifer, and he had nothing to worry about.

Michael Lucifer entered first, looking to be in quite a foul mood. Albert raced to the ring and the match got underway seeing Albert hammer first with a coco butt. Lucifer laughed and scorned Albert Beefcake, before dropping him with a spinebuster slam. Albert recovered and managed to drop Lucifer with a gut wrench powerbomb. Lucifer recovered and sent Albo into the ropes, before connecting with a shocking big boot. Albert recovered and looked to connect with the Albo bomb, but something mysterious stopped him, which instead made him stand and wait for a boxing combo from Michael Lucifer. Lucifer whipped Albert toward the turnbuckle but Albert accidentally knocked into the referee. At this point Jesseman raced to the ring! He slid in but Michael Lucifer was ready for him, and dropped him with a huge chokeslam! Then as the referee came to, Lucifer dropped the Beefer with a punishing devil driver and hooked the leg to get the cover. The Super Friends rushed to the back while Michael Lucifer remained in the ring staring down the two super heroes.

Patrick Mannion took on the Rock next in one on one competition. Mannion looked in good former early on after taking the Rock down with a nice Mannion press. The Rock went back on the charge however, dropping Mannion with a nice spinebuster, and then a DDT! Mannion looked for a flapjack, but the Rock slipped away and flew with a nice flying forearm. Mannion managed to hit the smackdown! slam. He turned to the crowd and shouted "all rights reserved" only to turn around and get dropped with the Rock Bottom! The Rock made the cover, but had no time to celebrate as the Nomad raced down to the ring with a chair and nailed him! The Rock stared Nomad down.

Marz made his way to the ring and said that he was going to face Violent J at Dead or Alive III to prove who was the greater juggalo, but on Aftershock he would instead prove who was the better champion. He said he'd heard a lot about this so called "next big thing" that was Loopster, but wasn't impressed. Loopster raced down to the ring and the match got underway, Loopster starting with a nice DDT. Marz retaliated with an Irish whip, and a nice flapjack take down. Loopster dropped Marz with a something factor, and then went to the outside. From under the ring Loopster revealed his 2x4 wrapped in barbed wire! He rolled back into the ring, but Marz whipped out a taser and shocked the Eurasian champion! Marz hit the spiral bomb, and got the cover. He then used Loopster's own 2x4 wrapped in barbed wire to attack him, but Violent J raced down and nailed him with the JCW title as AS went down.
