During the last Friday Night Fights before the 2017 Mid-Year Grand Slam; Genku's brief takeover of The Invasion appeared to come to an end when his repeated criticism of allies Jason_Voorhees & edge provoked an explosive two-on-one attack!
Genku subsequently bombed out of the First Round of the Mid-Year tournament major, which Invasion spiritual figurehead DaemonX indirectly links to the risks of Genku becoming isolated.
DaemonX backed Genku in the 2016 Invasion Election, but as Genku used that notoriety to pursue the Undisputed Championship, he drifted from the group amid false accusations of vote tampering.
DaemonX points to a string of catastrophic defeats as a consequence of Genku allowing himself to become isolated and vulnerable. Genku was attacked by VenoMark immediately after winning the title at Supercard 89: Breaking Point, lost the title soon after in an 6-fighter Eliminator at Pre-Show 90: Venomous Creatures, was embroiled in a conspiracy hatched by Hokey that resulted in defeat at Ultimate Grand Prix VII, and then became a target of The Pacific Connection amid criticism of booking staff.
DaemonX insists that all of these events could've been avoided if Genku simply stood with the collective muscle of The Invasion. He insists Genku should reconsider his position, lest he become vulnerable to being victimized further by the forces conspiring against him.
Friday Night Fights returns this week, but how will Genku respond? Will The Invasion be reunited as a powerful whole, or will Genku's narrow view add another enemy to a growing list? Be here for all the results as fallout from the Mid-Year Grand Slam continues - Friday, June 30th!
