A UGP rematch set up a scintillating main event as reigning KFL Champion Statix returned to defend the title against his former Pacific Connection partner Banging and new Invasion #1 Contender! It was one of two title matches on a Pre-Show aptly titled Gold = Power!
The 2016 Fighter For Europe was given just one night to recover from the gruelling elimination tournament and prepare himself for an even bigger challenge! The Great Genku is a calibre of competitor rarely seen within the Division 2 ranks. A seasoned 2-time Undisputed Champion, he was brought to the secondary belt by a Grand Path to Greatness. Nephrite had long odds to go up against that on such short notice - but that didn't stop him trying! Remarkably, Genku appeared to be taking the Pre-Show lightly and the signs of an upset victory were all there! Alas; the champ held his ground, calling upon years of experience to fend off a valiant effort from Nephrite!
The same excitement couldn't be found in the KFL Championship. At UGP6, Statix had done just enough to defeat his turncoat former partner and bring the gold to The Alliance. This time he was leaving no doubt! Banging languished as the champ unleashed a heavyweight offensive that gave him nowhere to go! The arrogance of The Invasion and their #1 contender left them prone to an embarrassment. Their claim to total control over Monday Nights showing a shred of doubt with The Alliance still clinging to the power of the coveted gold!
The Invasion were all over Pre-Show 79, picking up a mixed bag of results. Spiritual figurehead ShawnMichaels fended off the aggressions of Dez-Burnett, who missed out on representing Great Britain in the Fighter For Europe tournament after Michaels took his qualifying spot [5/9/2016]. GBR qualifiers also led Ironize & AcidicWonder to suffer a defeat in a three-way duo battle also involving fellow Brits Liam, nif and Leroy! ShawnMichaels' interim replacement DaemonX had similar bad fortune, falling to The_Hurricane - an old nemesis and Alliance fighter. The_Rock & KurtAngle were also sorely outclassed as CCShadow & Scott-Howell fought off their challenge to Howell's controversial campaign for change. MattHardy & Ghrimm faired better against The Alliance.
True to their mantra, The Invasion were fighting amongst themselves, as well. Loopster made his case for KFL Championship contention a little stronger with a big win against a still rattled TripleH! The trio of Shen_DuHBK, Jason_Voorhees & edge also maintaining strength in numbers.
In the biggest team bout of the night, "The Service Krew" Damo & DeathScepter reunited to cause more headaches for hopeful challenger VenoMark and his pal MKR! Just as he had on the May 6th Friday Night Fights; "The Chosen One" Damo goaded VenoMark into a bitter defeat - declaring himself destined to challenge for the Undisputed Championship! A prospect that only inspired greater rage in VenoMark!
