Pre-Show 76: March of the Duos

An overdue spotlight on the Duo Division injected new life into the ranks in a big time Pre-Show 76! With Ultimate Grand Prix looming on the horizon, match time and victories are becoming all the more important to who will step up! Hall of Fame Champions Marz & Violent`J have set an Xtreme test for would-be challengers. With some of the biggest combos already crossed off, the league is hungry for new contenders!

In the #1 contenders bout, Unknown265 & mwgrant0 were finally able to follow through on their lengthy contention prospects! They edged out a potent Politics & Menas, who've really asserted themselves in the opening months of Season 2016! Both teams are seen as dark horses. Unknown265 & mwgrant0 will move on to Supercard 76 as the ultimate wildcard! Anything could happen!

Division 2 wildcards Sekktor and Zentile both took hard defeats at Pre-Show 76. Sekktor's hopes of reclaiming the title he lost at Supercard 74: Battle Royale were dashed as Benjamin stepped up with a comprehensive reinforcement of his reign! Many view Benjamin as a stabilizing force for the gold, restoring continuity after the January title blitz. January blitz champion Zentile was put out of the running by an aggressive SubScorpTile! After a disappointing Tower of Power XV, SST looks set to reassert himself as a UGP frontrunner for the Division 2 title!

In one of the surprises of Pre-Show 76: Baraka_MK & Onryo returned to action as The New Generation! Their corruption came shortly after brutal defeats suffered last April - a fact that kept Baraka_MK out of his scheduled Duo Division title match at UGP5! After almost a year of darkness, the pair turned on Lucifer's Ladder thanks to a confrontation by best friend DECEPTION. His self-sacrifice fuelled their restoration and finally they are Corrupt no more! Sadly, that joyous revelation ended quickly -- Jerrod & Corrupt MINION showing tremendous Duo chemistry in an upset win!

BMK & Onryo aren't the only pair thinking about The Corrupt. Knickxasawrrrr has taken inspiration from DECEPTION, beginning a campaign to try to restore friend and former partner: UlcaTron! This time he recruited his brother m0s to the cause, reteaming to take on the Corrupt duo of UlcaTron & hydraslash! They had no trouble stomping the pair down, but it doesn't seem to have had the desired effect.
