UGP week changed little in the numeric league rans, but shook the title contention stakes to their core. Notable UGP wins for The Great Genku, The_Purple_Bunny, Ratt, VenoMark, ElJobber & Mime set them all up to enter the Undisputed Championship conversation. Kron will be a wildcard after his shock loss to fan-favourite champion DECEPTION.
The surprise package: "The Predator" TonyTheTiger with a history making #1 entry into the UGP Battle Royal, which he won with a staggering 22 eliminations! H may be parked just outside the Top 10 at #15, but he comes out of UGP as one of the most exciting fighters in the league! A hard luck story for "The Redemer" LordSkarlet who was UGP Battle Royal Runner-Up - a bitter reprisal of his upstart performance in the 2016 Battle Royale, and his 9th unanswered loss for 2016!
The only title to change hands this year was the KFL Championship -- defended for the first time ever at Ultimate Grand Prix. Statix's golden return has him at #19, while Banging slipped behind the strong style of defending Division 2 Champion Benjamin! It's fair to say The Invasion took a big hit all around -- losing their three big UGP match-ups!
Team Xtreme look unstoppable as the Duo Division Champions, upsetting the fairy tale return of "Corrupt No More" New Generation: Baraka_MK & Onryo. The top Duo Division prospects are pretty hazy at this stage. "The United" Shoe & Artanix could ride their rankings boosting win over The Invasion to a title argument. Crow may have bit the dust in his Iron Man Death Match challenge, but Pink_Ranger & Ghostdragon hit the #1 spot and are very deep in title discussions!
