Weekly Rankings Recap - UGP Edition

Ultimate Grand Prix VII was a long time coming and it didn't disappoint! It defies belief how UGP can get bigger and better each year, but UGP7 managed to do it! It was an intriguing card from top to bottom, with a great mix of the old, new and legendary. It was harder than ever just to make it on the card, and even if some competitors didn't walk away with a win, they'll always be part of history!

VenoMark was a surefire underdog when he walked into UGP with the Undisputed Championship, but like DECEPTION last year, he comes out of his UGP defense with new respect! Of course, that won't make things easier for the champ. United: The_Purple_Bunny won't let his disappointing performance go quietly, and there are plenty more contenders lined up after winning at UGP!

ElJobber would be the logical #1 contender, but after the damage he took in the Iron Man Death Match - there's no way he'll be ready to challenge next! DECEPTION's dominant rematch win over Kron could make him the next challenger to go for gold. VenoMark's old rival "The Chosen One" Damo also impressed when he made good on guarantees to win the 7th Annual UGP Battle Royal! Hard luck for former champion Genku. Losing to Hokey in his send-off match will only sour his chances even further.

Ratt & NightHawk could pretty much have the arena named after them after they shut down the second reign of Duo Division Champions Marz & Violent`J! Rematch potential seems low as the Duo Division looks ahead for refreshment. CCShadow & Scott-Howell seem refreshed since being recruited to the new Invasion by old pal DArqueBishop. Their win against Jammer2Omega & Porygonix sets them in good stead to go for gold. The reunion of "Pacific Connection" Oozaru & Banging could also spell exciting things for the two-man ranks! UGP may've also just minted Mark & Leroy as the next big thing to take their step into title contention! They were good throughout 2016, but nobody could've seen them taking out "The New Generation" Baraka_MK & Onryo!

United: Mime ended the experiment of the KFL Women's title and that should please a host of contenders who've been frozen out by CaTigeReptile's reign. It would be nice to see her set her sights back on the Undisputed Championships, but it will be tough to accept defeat when so much criticism has been heaped against the female fighters of the league! No such trouble for Division 2 Champion MKMaster - who had a phenomenal UGP debut as champ! He's been a surprise package as Grand Prix Warm-Up Runner-Up and last minute winner against Poasty. Can you say rematch?

The Spring Classic has become an annual post-UGP tradition and will return this year on Sunday, April 30th. A unique mix of after party, sequel, and carnival close it's sure to be another interesting year for the trailer hitched to UGP! Be watching throughout the week for all the UGP aftershocks and get ready for another big year in The Great Arena!
