ICWW: Civil Action (Jul 8, 2003)

Episode #34

Buddy Luv and Stat-Man struggled to fight the noise as Civil Action came on the air. Stat-Man reminded Buddy Luv that the mystery CEO would eliminate someone from the final three contestants in Big Beefer, and speculated that it would be Rockey Rakesh. Buddy Luv wasn't so sure, but was sure that later in the night the International championship would go on the line in what would no doubt be a spectacular match between Marz and Abel, who appeared to be initially working together. Stat-Man agreed that it was odd, but guaranteed Marz would win.

Albert Beefcake's theme hit the PA as the Big Beefer strutted down to the ring, accompanied by the secretary to the CEO - Gwen Lucifer. Albert told fans that the last person to be eliminated from contention would be named, but not before he informed people how the winner would be determined. The mystery CEO would eliminate someone, then the final two will face off in a match at Highway to Hell, with the competition prize money on the line. Gwen Lucifer handed Albert an envelope, which he opened to announce that the superstar eliminated would be Banging.

Oozaru versus Patrick Mannion
Banging's partner Oozaru made his way to the ring next to take on Patrick Mannion. The two goliaths squared up in the ring, tying up in a test of strength, which ended evenly. Mannion went on the attack with a spear, and went to work with the mounted punches over Oozaru. Oozaru managed to turn the tables and beat down on Mannion, picking him up to connect with a devastating clothesline. Mannion jumped to his feet, and went on the attack with punches, driving Oozaru to the corner, where he went on the charge with hard shoulder thrusts. Oozaru staggered away from the corner allowing Mannion to connect with a dropkick to the jaw. Mannion went for a cover, but didn't even get a one. Oozaru sent his opponent off the ropes, and took him down with a big boot to the face. He picked Mannion up for the full nelson bomb, and connected with fierce authority. A cover found him with only a two count. Oozaru tied up for the flatliner, but Mannion managed to power his way out of it and connected with the F-Five. He again went for a cover, but only got a one. A frustrated Patrick Mannion rolled to the outside and produced a table from beneath the ring. Oozaru followed to the outside, cutting him off with clubbing shots to the back, and then backed up for a spear, which was countered into a sidewalk slam through the table, earning Patrick Mannion a disqualification.
Winner: Oozaru via disqualification [6:14]

In the backstage area the Suck Squad were with Kurt Angle and the Rock. Chaos Drone asked the Rock to tell them what he was going to do to the Nomad at Highway to Hell. Loopster interrupted, and said that he was sick of hearing about the Rock, and would rather know if Angle had a match planned. Neither the Rock or Angle had an opportunity to answer the requests as Chaos and Loopster exploded into an argument. Chaos Drone attacked Loopster, slamming him to the ground and going to work with big punches.

Michael Lucifer stormed his way into the arena from the parking lot, accompanied by Statix. Statix told Lucifer that he thought he should really calm down, particularly since he wasn't scheduled to even be in the arena. Lucifer told Statix that he was either with him, or against him, and neither bothered him. Statix told Lucifer that he just thought he shouldn't jump the gun, considering he still didn't have confirmation that Marz or Abel had anything to do with the past months. Statix then brought up the possibility of it being a trap of sorts. He asked Lucifer how hard it would be to manipulate him by provoking him. Lucifer squinted his eyes, before storming away from Statix.

Marc Scott versus The Hurricane
Marc Scott made his way to the ring for a one on one encounter with the Hurricane. Before the super hero tag champ entered Scott took to the microphone. He said that at Highway to Hell he had Statix in a match that probably favoured him, and that was good. He said that he would finally be able to prove just how much of an overrated piece of meat Statix is, and then move on to bigger, and better things. The Hurricane raced down to the ring, and went straight to work, propelling himself into the ring over the top rope with a dropkick. With Scott struggling to his knees Hurricane went off the ropes, and connected with a running bicycle kick. Hurricane scored a two count, and picked Scott up for an Irish whip, which was countered sending Hurricane into the ropes right into a back body drop! Scott stomped down on the Hurricane, before clamping down with a half crab. Hurricane reach the ropes, and tied up in a front face lock looking for a suplex, but found himself countered with a fisherman suplex from Marc Scott. Hurricane was able to kick out, but walked right into the Grudge, which finally allowed Scott to make the cover.
Winner: Marc Scott via pin fall [6:11]

In the offices Gwen Lucifer was struggling with her computer, apparently struck by a virus. Rockey Rakesh entered with Statix, and told her that Statix had a lot of knowledge, and had offered to help. Statix quickly discovered that the ICWW mainframe had been hacked into recently. Gwen asked if Statix knew who it was, and he said that he did not, but he could find out. Rockey Rakesh let out a "smooookin'" as Statix went to work.

Michael Lucifer's theme hit the arena as the spirit of vengeance stalked his way to the ring. He demanded that Marz and Abel come down and face him, then and there. A crucifix lowered from the rafters, and Lucifer asked Marz if he remembered it, because he certainly did. Lucifer said that if Marz did not brave him, then he would know the truth, and go to all lengths to ensure his vengeance was felt, and penance was served. Lucifer then gazed at the large crucifix, and shouted Highway to Hell. He said that everyone was talking about the match, and he would offer some closure. Lucifer told him that his fury would be felt, and the hell fire would cleanse Marz' soul, as he cast upon him his vengeance, and judgment. Suddenly a masked man raced down to the ring, and started taunting Michael Lucifer! The man, who wasn't in very good shape, slapped Michael Lucifer - prompting him to chase him to the backstage area.

The Nomad made his way to the ring next, and took to the microphone. He asked what the hell the last segment was all about. He said he hadn't seen anything as deranged since the last time he fought Loopster. He said that if Lucifer took up any more time with his stalking, and his vengeance, and his being the devil, he could rename the company MLCW. Nomad said that he had the Rock at Highway to Hell, and it wasn't in a fancy hell match, it was just going to the Rock and himself. He said that they didn't need any flashy gimmicks, because he was going to beat Rocky down fair and square, and when he'd done that, he would turn to another area that needed his attention. He said that apparently Chris Benoit had earned a shot at the heavyweight title, which was laughable. The Canadian crippler stepped out at the entrance way, and asked Nomad what his problem was. Nomad told Benoit that in the interest of time saving, he would sum it up and say, "Benoit sucks". Benoit then challenged the Nomad to a match, with his position as number one contender on the line. Nomad turned the offer down, saying he didn't want to inadvertently give the Rock a free meal ticket, but he would take Benoit up on his offer after Highway to Hell, and if he didn't mind, he'd kick his ass now as a preview.

Chris Benoit versus The Nomad
Benoit slid into the ring, as Nomad shot off the ropes and used Benoit's momentum to dive across the ring with a bulldog. Benoit jumped to his feet, and tied up with Nomad, taking him over with an overhead belly to belly suplex. Nomad staggered to his feet and blocked a right hand, countering with a neck breaker. With Benoit down the former world champ stomped down on him, before taunting to the crowd. Benoit took advantage with a waist lock, and sent Nomad over with a German suplex. Benoit tied up with the crossface, attempting to make the Nomad tap out, but to no avail, the Nomad managing to use his free arm to reach for the ropes. Nomad got to his feet, and swung for a crescent kick, but Benoit ducked it and tied up for a belly to belly, which Nomad managed to counter with a double palm to the temples. As Benoit staggered, Nomad dropped him with the crescent kick. He taunted some more, as Benoit struggled to his feet, and walked right into the bible black, and a clean finish with a lateral press.
Winner: The Nomad via pin fall [6:42]

Buddy Luv and Stat-Man were tense as the night's headlining match was moments away. The International champions on the line between Marz and Abel Lucifer, who had originally seemed as though they were teaming, but now that was in the air. Stat-Man proclaimed that it was a great match of strength and power, against speed and skill, something Buddy Luv did not agree with. He felt that with the two egos involved it was a lose-lose situation. Stat-Man accused Buddy Luv of being cynical.

International Championship match
Marz [c] versus Abel Lucifer
The International champion sauntered his way to the ring, in now eager hurry to put his title on the line against the much larger, Abel Lucifer. Abel made his way to the ring and stepped over the top rope in intimidating fashion. Abel went straight to work, attacking Marz with jabs and body rips, before taking the champ down with an axe kick. He picked Marz up slowly, and sent him straight back down to the mat with a devastating throat thrust. Marz staggered to his feet, heading for the corner where Abel found the tables turned when Marz countered an offensive attack into a head scissor takeover. Marz continued to use the pace in his favour, going off the turnbuckle with his trademark springboard kick. With Abel down he went to the top rope, and went off with a frog splash into a pin attempt, which was rolled over by Abel into a two count! The got to their feet, and Abel kicked Marz in the midsection and dropped him with a powerbomb! Abel went off the ropes and looked for a big elbow drop, but Marz rolled out of the ring, leaving Abel to drive the point of his elbow into nothing but empty mat. Marz retrieved a chair from ringside, and rolled back in, using the chair to decimate Abel! The big man was reeling, but somehow managed to drop Marz with a chokeslam. With both men down the crowd was tense, as Abel crawled over to Marz and threw his arm over, but only scored a two and a half count! Both men staggered to their feet, and Marz raked the eyes of Abel, and tried to hit the spiral bomb, but didn't have the strength. He set a chair up behind him, and sent Abel into the opposite ropes, using Abel's momentum to monkey toss him right onto the set up chair! With that done Marz collapsed on Abel, scoring the three count.
Winner: Marz via pin fall [11:32]

Marz struggled to his feet to have the referee raise his hand, when Michael Lucifer ran down to the ring and started attacking both his brother and Marz! Michael tore the padding off the turnbuckle, exposing the steel bracket, and drove Marz head first into it, ripping his forehead open! Lucifer then smeared the International championship with Marz' blood, before tossing it at the fallen champ.

Special mention:
Marc Scott picks up a much needed win on his way to Highway to Hell, where he will face the sensation.
