ICWW: Civil Action (Jul 15, 2003)

Episode #35

Buddy Luv and Stat-Man were ringside as Civil Action kicked off, the crowd on their feet. Stat-Man told Buddy Luv that rumors in the backstage area were that the Masked Marvel would make an important announcement later in the night. Buddy Luv stared blankly and asked Stat-Man if he really didn't know who Mr. Alaska was. Stat-Man told Buddy Luv that he just didn't get it, and turned his attentions backstage, as cameras showed the arrival of Michael Lucifer.

Statix was there as Lucifer headed in, and asked him what happened after last week when he was arrested by security. Statix told Lucifer that he knew for a fact that it had nothing to do with the CEO, and proved to security that it was another case of the hacker. Michael Lucifer nodded in response, and then asked if Statix had seen Gwen yet. He said she wasn't in the arena, which forced the look of interest on Lucifer's face to quickly turn to a deep concern.

The Godfather versus Shaggy 2 Dope
In the ring the Godfather was set to take on former hardcore champion, Shaggy 2 Dope in one on one competition. The two tied up and unloaded on each other with a series of punches, the Godfather asserting himself with a powerful lariat. He hit the ropes and jumped Shaggy, as he jumped to his feet and took Godfather down on the way back with a Japanese arm drag. Shaggy went to work, stomping down on the fallen superstar, before heading to the top rope! The Y2Juggalo took too long, allowing the Godfather time to recover, and take him down from upstairs with a huge press slam. Godfather hit a leg drop, and went for the cover but only got a two count. Godfather picked the Y2Juggalo up for the Pimp drop, but Shaggy slipped out and hit the ropes, taking him down with a spinning heel kick. Shaggy went upstairs once again went off the top with a huge senton bomb, and hooked the leg, scoring for himself a three count.
Winner: Shaggy 2 Dope via pin fall [5:28]

Backstage the Nomad was walking past the coffee table when he stopped and look at the hardcore championship he had over his shoulder. He furrowed his brow before asking himself what the hell he was doing with such a crappy belt. He reminded himself that he was a Grand Slam champion, and tossed the belt in a near by trash can, before preparing himself a large cup of java.

In the offices Michael Lucifer was hunched over his wife's desk when his brother Abel entered. Michael immediately questioned him as to the whereabouts of his wife, which only encouraged laughter from Abel. Abel told his brother that he didn't know, but his friend Statix or maybe one of the other guys might. Michael Lucifer's focus sharpened as he asked what Abel meant by that through clenched teeth. Abel told his brother that he was naive, and that Gwen had been playing him for a sucker, and that he wasn't the only one. Shock spread over the face of the spirit of vengeance, before the familiar stone face returned as he shoved his brother aside and stormed out of the room.

Tito Ortiz versus Marc Scott
Tito Ortiz made his way to the ring with an explanation for his absence. He said that fans were unlucky, because they missed the most amazing unofficial bout of the century, when he defeated Jason Shamrock in a street fight. Ortiz told fans that Shamrock wouldn't be showing up any time soon, as he would probably be in traction for a while. Ortiz said that he was ready to make an impact in ICWW, and he'd start tonight in his match against Marc Scott. Scott didn't seem to agree, racing down to the ring to attack Ortiz from behind with hard shots to the back of the head. Ortiz struck back, unloading with a series of elbow shots to the head. Scott was soon opened up, a gash on his forehead the product of stinging elbow shots from Ortiz. Scott managed to make an offense of his own with a Lou Thesz press, and then tied up with Ortiz, taking him down with a fisherman suplex. Ortiz went to the outside and shook the attack off, before returning with a thai kick assault, taking Scott down with an arm wrench, and following it with an arm bar! Scott managed to grab hold of the ropes, forcing the hold to be broken. Marc Scott took a moment on the outside while Ortiz pumped himself up. Scott produced a chair from ringside and headed into the ring, assaulting Ortiz brutally, forcing the referee to disqualify him.
Winner: Tito Ortiz via disqualification [3:36]

The Masked Marvel strutted his way to the ring to a unconvincing Latin sounding theme. He spoke, again in an unconvincing Spanish accent, and told the fans that his mission objective was almost complete, and he would reveal himself very soon. He said that he believed he would be able to unmask himself at the main event, this very weekend, at Highway to Hell, and told all fans to stay tuned. The Marvel did a little dance in the ring, before strutting his way to the back.

On the big screen Marz appeared out on the street. He slung his International championship over one shoulder and turned to the camera. He said that there was nothing like the cold nights breeze against his skin. He said the cold was a perfect reflection of what he felt, and then a sick smile crept across his face, as he pondered if Michael Lucifer felt the same. He said that they had a lot in common, they were both considered dark men, but there was something that betrayed Michael Lucifer. Marz said he'd like everyone to meet his new friend, and dragged a tied up Gwen Lucifer into screen. Marz dragged her left of screen, revealing that they were on a bridge. Gwen's sobs could be heard, as Marz again turned to screen and asked the question, "I wonder, what would happen if you took away the one thing that matters to the spirit of vengeance?" Marz laughed as the camera faded out.

The Rock made his way to the ring next, accompanied by Chaos Drone. He said that the Nomad was a jabroni, and disgraced the championship he once held. The Rock said that the Nomad made him sick, and at Highway to Hell he would bury him underground, where he belonged. He handed the microphone to Chaos Drone who then said Loopster had been being a real jerk off, and said that at Highway to Hell, he had them signed to a special I suck match! Loopster and Kurt Angle stepped out at the entrance way, and Loopster said he accepted the match, but said that would only prove who the superior one of them was. He then challenged the Rock and Chaos to a tag match, right then and there. The Rock snatched the microphone, and said, "just bring it".

Loopster & Kurt Angle versus Chaos Drone & The Rock
Loopster and Chaos Drone opened the match, awkwardly going to work with overhand chops and slaps. They finally broke it up, and Chaos Drone took Loopster down with a running knee lift. Chaos tagged in to his hero, the Rock, who stomped down on the fallen Loopster, and then started talking smack to Kurt Angle. The Referee kept Angle from stepping through the ropes, as the Rock hit Loopster with snap jab, after snap jab, finishing him with a big slap. He stood over the suck one, and peeled his elbow pad off, throwing it into the crowd before hitting the ropes and connecting with the people's elbow. Chaos jumped up and down on the apron in delight as the Rock squatted, waiting for Loopster to make it to his feet. Loopster staggered in a 180 step, walking right into the Rock Bottom, and a pin. The Rock and Chaos Drone rolled out of the ring and shouted trash, leaving Kurt Angle to check on Loopster, who was on his knees crying in the ring.
Winner: The Rock via pin fall [3:42]

Buddy Luv and Stat-Man discussed the happenings of the night when Buddy Luv again brought up the situation of the Masked Marvel. He again asked Stat-Man what he was talking about, and Stat-Man told him that he had better just shut his mouth otherwise he might have to defy the odds, and overcome his injury. Buddy Luv asked Stat-Man how it was possible for a person to break their wrist hailing a bus, and Stat-Man told him not to underestimate the power of public transport.

The Big Screen once again showed Marz on the bridge who apparently had come up with an ultimatum for Michael Lucifer. He said that he had to make a choice, he could either relinquish his shot at the title at Highway to Hell, or watch his wife plummet into the icy waters below them, and possibly end up with a similar paralyzing injury to what he had. Suddenly out of nowhere Michael Lucifer jumped Marz from behind! He pounded down on him, slamming him onto the concrete sidewalk with a chokeslam! Abel Lucifer was there also, and tried to help Marz, along with some street toughs! Michael Lucifer was mobbed by the group, but burst out from the middle, tearing through all of them! As the street toughs ran away, he attacked his brother, and tossed him over the side of the bridge! Marz struggled into a waiting car, and sped away, leaving the monstrous attack behind from the spirit of vengeance. Lucifer turned to his wife, and ripped the ropes that bound her off, before blocking her attempt to hug him. Confused, Gwen stood on the bridge, as Michael Lucifer walked down the middle of the street, alone, as Civil Action came to an end.

Special mention:
The Spirit of Vengeance was in overtime, as Marz continues to play mind games.
