Friday Night Fights (July 1, 2016)

The spectre of Tournament 68 hung over Friday Night Fights in its return from a weeks hiatus. Several battles tinged by the Mid-Year Grand Slam erupted in The Great Arena, but it was one of the most high profile grudges that was supposed to manifest that created the biggest news: "Chosen One" Damo unfulfilled in his challenge of The_Purple_Bunny thanks to an attack by The United!

DArqueBishop & Artanix staged the 2-on-1 ambush -- an obvious reprisal for a shocking attack on their teammate United: Shoe during the week. The unprovoked skirmish left Shoe brutally injured, reducing The United's active numbers to just two! The beat down wasn't the only bad news for The Service Krew, either! "The Apprentice" DeathScepter went to the front of Division 2 contention with his stunning Semi Final performance in Tournament 68. That was challenged by Benjamin, who got the better of The Apprentice with a well earned win!

Benjamin wasn't the only fighter looking to prove himself as a viable contender for the disputed Division 2 Championship! Several competitors converged on The Great Arena to leverage strong performances in the Mid-Year Grand Slam into proof positive they were just as worthy of Div.2 title shots! "The Secret Weapon" SubScorpTile, J-Spit and Dez-Burnett all picked up good wins!

Politics could find himself in Division 2 title talks, as well. After vowing to continue to fight on in honor of his fallen comrade Menas, Politics earned a solid solo victory over FNF regular xort! It could be the beginning of an interesting new chapter for the recent Tower of Power duo star!

Former Division 2 Champion The Great Genku arrived in The Great Arena with higher aspirations than his recent past. He challenged Invasion fighter Loopster to show up on Friday. Loopster spent this week's Monday Night Invasion bragging about his Round 2 victory over reigning Undisputed Champion DECEPTION! Loopster claims it makes him the obvious #1 contender -- a delusion Genku took great pleasure in destroying with a devastating +15 impact!

PLUS: GohanSon and NosajSamoht met for a rematch of their Tournament 68 Round 2 draw. The exciting do-over opened Friday Night Fights, producing another close fought match ended by the slight advantage found by GohanSon! A great open!
