It was the biggest event in the history of The Great Arena, but the action is far from over now that Supercard 4 is concluded! April 17 will see the Undisputed Championship contended once more, this time in the ultimate challenge as every single contender vies for their shot at glory!
Customarily, the conclusion of a Supercard marks the opportunity for a sitdown revision of the unofficial contender rankings. Supercard 4 is no exception, carrying with it the results of two Pre-Show events, as well as some of the biggest battles The Great Arena has ever witnessed. This new "unofficial" list becomes official today as it forms the Tower of Power -- a ladder of competitors who will face off against a pool of challengers before the tower turns in on itself, eliminating a contender until one person is left standing at the top to face the Undisputed Champion!
Challengers will be decided at a later date, but after missing his qualifying spot in the Thirty-Person Battle Royal at Supercard 4, Tyrant-Cenobite will be granted the opportunity to face the Tower of Power if he is fit to compete. As yet, noone knows why he missed his qualifying spot in the Battle Royal, or if he is even in a fit state to compete. His status will no doubt be updated when we learn the rest of the challenger pool!
Without further ado, let us learn the competitors who will make up the first ever Tower of Power:
Champion: Toryn (12-4-0) [Previous Rank: Champion]
Obviously, it goes without saying that the Undisputed Champion will be waiting at the top of the Tower of Power, ready to meet any challenger who fights their way to him. In the event that a challenger successfully defeats the contenders and wins the championship, the Tower of Power will officially end. Otherwise, Toryn can expect to meet one of the men listed below, who will be eliminated in consecutive fashion until only one top ten contender faces him in the final bout.
Toryn has been an unpopular fighter in his time in The Great Arena, stemming from an act during Tournament 1 that saw him go on a rampage against minions in an effort to increase his powers. He fell into momentary obscurity after failing to win either of the first two tournaments, but earned his way back into the spotlight in a legitimate fashion, culminating in a shock Supercard 3 win against then-champion, Kron!
Toryn's Supercard 4 main event victory against ElJobber proved without a doubt that capturing the Championship was more than a fluke, but against Lord Mislukking, the champ was easily humbled. He'll have to return at the top of his game if he's going to avoid suffering a similar defeat at the hands of the eventual challenger.
#1 Ratt (13-6-0) [Previous Rank: #4]
Ratt set himself a pretty steep challenge when he agreed to compete in two matches and a Battle Royal in a single weekend, but "The Iron Man" proved once again that he has the true grit to go all the way. Victorious in a team fight, Thirty-Person Battle Royal and rematch against arch-nemesis, Revenant Genku, there could be no denying Ratt's well earned position as #1 contender! Under ordinary circumstances, Ratt would surely enter a championship match as hot favourite, but with a sturdy list of contenders providing at least one addition obstacle, Ratt will have to be more than just an "Iron Man" to win the belt -- he'll have to be the best!
#2 Kron (11-3-0) [Previous Rank: #2]
The former champion united with Cr0w to defeat the Barons of Famine and Pestilence in a well considered Supercard 4 challenge, but if there's a fight Kron really wants, it is almost certainly a rematch against Toryn for the championship he lost at Supercard 3! Kron claims to have been "born again" as a more honorable fighter and was subsequently inspired by attacks on Ratt to take up the challenge against Famine (and Pestilence), but with the Championship on the line, will he really show any mercy when it comes to ending Ratt's dream to reach the top of the Tower of Power?
#3 Cr0w (10-4-0) [Previous Rank: #3]
He may have taken up the challenge to "End Famine" and made a decisive mark alongside Kron at Supercard 4, but if contention was measured by desire, Cr0w would be #1 bar none. The former champion has loitered in the upper ranks since losing his title to Kron at Supercard 1 and subsequent rematch defeat at Supercard 2. Will it be a chance to right the wrongs, or a nightmare come true all over again if Cr0w can win his way up the Tower of Power to face Kron?
#4 ElJobber (7-3-0) [Previous Rank: #1]
ElJobber earned his way to the top of the ranks with a single victory in the Supercard 1 forty-person Battle Royale, but came up short in a blockbuster Championship match that came down to the wire. With Cr0w, Kron and Ratt standing between he and a rematch, ElJobber will have to prove his worth by climbing the strong end of the Tower of Power to taste gold once more!
#5 Hokey (14-3-0) [Previous Rank: #5]
One of the more unassuming contenders in The Great Arena; Hokey has enjoyed some of the most notable success in the history of organized competition. Since the death of Genku, he has held top League Ranking honors, which extended to another victory this weekend when he teamed with Ninja_Mime for a second occasion. Hokey has been a sleeping dark horse for quite some time! Is he ready to be the one to conquer the Tower of Power at long last?
#6 Ninja_Mime (10-4-0) [Previous Rank: #6]
As a successful fighting partner to Hokey, Ninja_Mime has had a similarly quiet rise toward the top of the ranks. With a League fighting record equal to Cr0w, Ninja_Mime is another sleeping giant within the mid-tier of the contender rankings list, but if he's to capitalize on this opportunity, he will be forced to combat his partner in the climb to the top of the Tower of Power!
#7 Mimik (7-4-0) [Previous Rank: #7]
The winner of Tournament 3 secured his spot with a very strong showing against eager rival, TonyTheTiger! Mimik's successes have come in a steady wave, thanks to his newfound powers courtesy of increased training. Will this wave of momentum continue as Mimik faces the top contenders of the Tower of Power?
#8 Shoe (4-1-0) [Previous Rank: Not Ranked]
Shoe only debuted in The Great Arena at Pre-Show 4, but his success has been undeniable! This hot new contender fought his way through a bracket of sixteen to win Tournament 4, progressing to the Supercard 4 Thirty-Person Battle Royal where he entered #11 and lasted to be the #29th man behind winner and the man who eliminated him, Ratt! As a relative unknown quantity, Shoe might just be the man to climb the ladder of the Tower of Power!
#9 m0s (2-4-0) [Previous Rank: Not Ranked]
They say luck is the meeting of preparation and opportunity -- a philosophy m0s has been able to fully embody in his rise through the ranks. m0s was elevated from jobber to contender when he replaced The_Purple_Bunny in a match against Ken at Supercard 3. The rivalry that has built did not go well in a team match at Pre-Show 4, but on the grandest stage of them all, m0s proved himself as the real deal by eliminating Ken from the Thirty-Person Battle Royal, lasting an impressive forty-eight minutes to enter #9 and exit #25! m0s proved he can handle overwhelming odds by eliminating six fighters from the Battle Royal, but will he be able to go two better to win his way up the Tower of Power?
#10 Porygonix (7-7-0) [Previous Rank: #9]
The final spot has been the most contended, but on the back of four eliminations in the Supercard 4 Battle Royal, which he earned his way into with a qualifying victory over Jax, Porygonix has managed to oust fellow contender, Ken! Clinging to contention by his fingertips, Porygonix will have the most to prove when he confronts the upper ranks. With running buddy Kron occupying a higher spot, will Pory simply be part of a larger plan, or will the high stakes bring out a string of upsets as Poryg faces the acid test of the Tower of Power?
Porygonix will have plenty of practise before the Tower of Power folds in on itself! He will face the most competition of any fighter, fending off the non-elimination advances of the Challenger pool, before facing the daunting odds of fighting up nine levels to reach the Undisputed Championship! Those Challengers will be decided in the coming week, with the big Supercard 5 happening where it always does, April 17! Stay tuned!
