2016 Summer Olympic Games - Day 15

Day 15 of the Summer Olympics brought the 2016 Games to a close with a sense of fun and festivity. Medals in the Trios and Battle Royal matches brought back many of the fighters who'd represented their nation in other events at these Games. A final farewell to competitive carnival of countries that makes the Olympics such a joyous occasion!

New Zealand surprised as they fought their way to a second Gold Medal with a dominant outing in the Trios! The team experience and synchronicity of "Service Krew" affiliates Damo & Kiara85, and Banging produced a shock comprehensive win over Team USA! A perfect compliment to Damo and Banging's Duo Gold Medal from Day 13!

In the Bronze Medal fight, Team Great Britain were kept out of the final medal tally in a hard fought battle with Team Canada! Break out Survival Sequence fighter Jerrod led an untested combination of Shadaloo & Torchia to pick up second Bronze of the Games!

In the long awaited Battle Royal event, fifteen of the world's best fighters came to contest a fight to the finish. Portugal's Zentile made a splash with the first two eliminations - but paid for his hubris with a successive elimination at the hands of Italian Cyclone Shen_DuHBK! Great Britain's Dez-Burnett bounced back from his Trios disappointment with a couple of good eliminations. By the mid-way point, it was clear who was taking control. 2015 Royal Roulette winner VenoMark made his push for the Gold Medal early and hard! Chromatose began a toppling of fighters down to the final three! Indian Hall of Fame favourite Rockey316 had managed an early elimination of UAE's Intel -- fighting in tribute to Day 8 casualty jaytea -- but ran out of steam, taking Bronze. Undisputed Champion DECEPTION was clearly the biggest contender in VenoMark's way. The two waged a back and forth war that had everybody caught up in the teeter-totter of control! VenoMark managed to score successive heavy hits, turning the tide in his favour. In a huge finish - VenoMark wins Gold!

A thrilling end to what has been an incredible two weeks of action at the 2016 Olympic Games!

2016 Summer Olympic Games - Day 14

The Survival Sequence team event has consistently been one of the most exciting attractions at these 2016 Olympic Games. Team Canada produced two of the moments of the Games when Undisputed Champion DECEPTION produced a stunning come-from-behind victory on Day 5, and Jerrod stepped up to score four eliminations against Malaysia on Day 7!

A rematch of that 5-4 Heats win against Team Great Britain had every one anticipating the rematch in the Bronze Medal showdown. The story was very different this time, however -- Team GB's run clearly taking its toll. Liam took over for his fatigued partner, picking up a good two eliminations, but it was all over from there. Jerrod once again stepped it up to blast his way through the British national team -- untouched in a sprint to the finish! A fantastic finish to Canada's endearing run in the 5-Team Event! They'll be one of the teams to watch come Summer 2020!

In 2016, it was all a case of history repeating! The 2012 Gold and Silver Medal teams rekindled their rivalry - Australia hopeful they could improve upon their disappointing 5-2 Heats defeat at the hands of the dominant Dream Team. Those hopes quickly dissipated as Team USA stuck to the script of their first encounter, repeating the sequence exactly! Division 2 #1 Contender Benjamin once again dismissed BIGkev and Bronzie with ease, before The Alliance's former KFL Champion Statix put an end to that. "The U.S. Predator" TonyTheTiger had no trouble taking him out. Hall of Famer Oozaru made the save, but was wiped out by #1 Contender The Great Genku! None of the other Americans had to apply -- ElJobber's resistance reversed as Genku fought off devastating blows to secure the Gold Medal! A Dream Team USA win that never even required Ratt or "American Dream" Scott-Howell to fight! Unbelievable!

The USA entrench themselves at the top of the Medal Tally, adding their second Gold to the 3way Event won "The Guardian" CaTigeReptile! Australia and Canada are equal 4th, each with one Silver and one Bronze!

The favourites dominated at the Games on "unlucky" Day 13, as the Duo Event roared to a stunning conclusion! Mime & Politics and Damo & Banging were never in any danger of losing their Semi Final matches as they stormed through their opponents with devastating efficiency!

The Semis set up two exciting Medal matches! In the Gold Medal fight, the long awaiting meeting of the two dominant teams fulfilled a dream match scenario. Canadian Duo experts United: Mime & Politics were hopeful to bring home the Duo Gold for Canada, who dominated in 2012 with Marz & Violent`J. Alas; New Zealand's equally experienced Duo doyens "Chosen One" Damo & Banging were simply fighting at too high a level! The Canadians capitulated as New Zealand overwhelmed them, an incredible performance to win New Zealand their first Gold at the 2016 Games!

The Bronze Medal match had its own curious sense of anticipation. There was a lot of uncertainty coming out of the Semi Finals, but the devastating results didn't deter either team! In fact, both the USA and Great Britain teams lifted their game for the Bronze match! Liam & nif made a genuine threat at taking the medal, but Jammer2Omega & Porygonix would not leave the 2016 Games without bringing metal back to the USA!

Jammer2Omega & Porygonix were a controversial choice for team selection, with many looking to other more established US pairings, such as "The New Generation" Baraka_MK & Onryo. Whether you agree or disagree with the criticism they faced, there's no denying J2O & Porygonix represented their country with pride. Bronze Medalists who bump the United States to the top of the Medal Tally, adding to CaTigeReptile's Gold in the 3way [Day 12]!

2016 Summer Olympic Games - Day 12

The biggest surprises of the Olympic Solo Event arguably came in the Semi Finals. Despite the Hall of Fame status of their opponents, ElJobber and The_Purple_Bunny were widely expected to factor in to the Gold Medal match. Instead, they arrived to compete for Bronze in the Day 12 opener - producing an inevitable final bombshell. Against all expectations, Team USA walked away from the Solo Event with no medal as ElJobber rallied after his Semi Final fade-out to defeat TPB!

In the Gold Medal battle of the Hall of Famers: Rockey316 did his best to put together another exciting performance, but Shamrock was sticking to the script, using his superior powers to secure a well earned Gold Medal! Rockey316 - nothing to sneeze at with Silver!

In the 3way Event, Team USA faced the prospect of another upset! "The Guardian" CaTigeReptile was overwhelming favourite coming in to these Olympic Games, contesting the Gold Medal she won back at the 2012 Games for China. With more experience, she was expected to blitz the field, but instead found herself in a struggle from minute one! Chromatose was breathing down CTR's neck the entire time -- Murdoink not far off the pace as the first, Bronze Medal elimination.

With the world watching - Chromatose rode the momentum of his elimination of Murdoink, taking the fight right to CaTigeReptile's doorstep! With almost nothing separating them, the American dug deep, calling upon her superior experience to win her second 3way Gold Medal! A spectacular finish and another amazing moment from these 2016 Olympic Games!

Day 13 brings another big Medal contest as the Duos of these Olympic Games battle it out in a final endurance run to the finish! The hopes of Team USA will be behind the Dream Team of J2O & Porygonix, who stunned everyone with their win over Australia! They have the biggest mountain to climb when Duo Legends Damo & Banging represent New Zealand! It will be a similar predicament when Liam & nif of Team GB take on Canada's Duo experts - Mime & Politics!

2016 Summer Olympic Games - Day 11

The Duos had a long wait between rounds, last competing on Day 4 of these Olympic Games. The Solo Event fighters - much more fresh after their Day 9 Quarter Final crunch. The combination of waiting and high stakes made for a pressure cooker environment. Day 11 did not disappoint!

The Duos were on first and the favourites were in fine form! Damo & Banging were cool and calm in their execution of Finland, unassuming as they made New Zealand the Gold Medal frontrunners at these 2016 Olympic Games! Their primary competition - Canada - were much more flashy in their demolishing of Poland's Bofh & Cukier.

After "The Greek Crisis" were gifted a randomized Bye in the First Round, the most anticipated match of Round 2 became their meeting with arch-rivals Liam & nif! It was difficult to not see this match in a political context. The controversy of The British Exit hung in the air at these Games, at least until the air rushed out with Team GB's win. maxilos & proXade have had the better of Liam & nif so frequently this year, but with everything to fight for - The Brits pulled off another unbelievable moment!

On the flipside, there was nothing but joy for Jammer2Omega & Porygonix as they faced down the daunting task of Aussie heavyweight Statix and Duo expert Corrupt hydraslash! In the fight of their life, the controversially chosen USA team rose to the occasion. A thrilling coming out for one of the burgeoning tandems of 2016!

The competitive rivalry between Australia and The United States has been building throughout these Games, and there was one last twist in their story. As the Solo Quarter Finals gave both nations a chance to move on to the Gold Medal match -- it was the Hall of Fame longshots who shocked the world! Shamrock had to work hard to eliminate The_Purple_Bunny, while India's Rockey316 was faced with an ElJobber fighting well below standard!

A shocking twist that guarantees Singapore and India no less than a Silver Medal! Shamrock will be the favourite as the first medals of these Olympic Games are awarded - tomorrow, Day 12! Fighting for the Bronze will be USA and Australia - not where either expected to be!

2016 Summer Olympic Games - Day 10

The Survival Sequence 5-Team Olympic Semi Finals were a tale of two dominators! On one side, former KFL Champion Statix was a powerhouse for Team Australia! In the other match, "The Predator" TonyTheTiger went on the hunt for Team USA!

It had been a close, exciting battle between Australia and Canada during the Heats of Day 5. In that match, Canada narrowly missed out when Undisputed Champion DECEPTION went down in sudden death. Little was the same in the rematch, Canada getting an early lead thanks to seasoned team fighter KittyKat! It was all downhill from there, though. Statix doubled his eliminations of the Canadians, from two to four! Jerrod and Politics both tried to wear the Aussie down, but he was too potent. DECEPTION took a fatiguing Statix down, but was toppled by Hall of Famer Oozaru.

On Day 7, The US Dream Team had utterly embarrassed controversial Team GB. The British had a lot to prove in their Semi Final rematch - and it started relatively well. Division 2 #1 Contender Benjamin was in command roughhousing with nif, but this time Liam managed to wrestle control from the Div.2 star! A very brief moment of hope before TonyTheTiger went on the warpath! He rapidly hacked and slashed his way through the team, meeting resistance from ShawnMichaels he was able to endure! Another stunning 5-1 for Team USA!

The Dream Team will be overwhelming Gold Medal favourites when they meet Survival Sequence rivals Australia Friday - August 19th! Fighting for the Bronze will be Canada and Great Britain!

The long awaited Third Round of the Duo event will also see the US and Australia meet as Jammer2Omega & Porygonix face the challenge of Statix and Corrupt hydraslash! Canada and New Zealand will also be looming large. The match of the day: "The Greek Crisis" maxilos & proXade taking on arch-rivals Liam & nif! Another big day of Olympic action ahead!

2016 Summer Olympic Games - Day 9

Day 9 belonged to the odds-on favourites as the Solo and 3way Olympic Events set up some exciting Medal matches for the final week of the Games!

The_Purple_Bunny put himself and The USA right at the top of the predictive ladders as he earned a confident victory over Mime! He'll go in to a Semi Final clash with Hall of Famer Shamrock with heavy favourite status! Australia's ElJobber did well enough to earn a solid win over trans-tasman rival "Chosen One" Damo, relegating New Zealand's hopes to the Duo and Trio events. ElJobber will go on to the Semi Finals to face Indian fan favourite Rockey316 - the other Hall of Famer quietly edging his way toward a Medal opportunity!

The 3way event has a strong but expected final battle to look forward, with all the favourites moving on to the Medal match. "The Guardian" CaTigeReptile is on track to win her second 3way Event Gold Medal, having won the event in 2012 as an adopted representative of China. She absolutely dominated New Zealand's team star Kiara85. Chromatose will give Europe a medal, comfortably bypassing Australia. Murdoink outdid fellow South American Maridany and Zentile to make up for his disappointing loss in the Solo Event on Day 6.

"Portuguese Pegasus" Zentile had by far the hardest day of these Olympic Games. Having call times for both the Solo and 3way Events may seem like a blessing, but it stretched him to two disappointing defeats. Rockey316 really rocked his clock with a +4 beat down. He had Maridany on the ropes, but just couldn't extend himself far enough, succumbing to Murdoink. A loss he was none the less energized by, thanks to the +3 beating of Maridany!

The Solo Semi Finals will continue on Day 11, August 16th. Then Day 12 will shower Olympic Medals as both the Solo and 3way Events conclude! A big week of action still to come!

2016 Summer Olympic Games - Day 8

For the first time at the Olympic Games teams of three represented their nation in a battle of trios! With six combinations fronting for the first Medal chase, two Classes would pit competing teams against one another to qualify for the medal matches!

In Class A, it was immediately clear New Zealand were the team to beat! "Chosen One" Damo, Banging & Kiara85 gelled through Damo's familiarity with both of his teammates. They were dominant as they dashed the hopes of rival nation Australia, and crushed a better received version of Team Great Britain! Team GB kept the good times flowing as they stumped Australia in another Commonwealth Nation rivalry. A stinging elimination for the Aussies!

Class B was another cakewalk for The Dream Team of Team USA! They weren't quite so dominant against Team Canada, captained by Jerrod hot off of his amazing breakout in the 5-Team event on Day 7! Both teams qualified after The United Arab Emirates was forced to forfeit their match with Team Canada - losing favoured fighter jaytea in a shocking moment!

It was clear jaytea must have come into these Olympic Games in poor condition. The +3 victory of Team USA not expected to cause such a devastating result. jaytea is the second name added to the Incapacitated List at these Games. Mexico's Celeste was an unfortunate casualty of the Second Round of the Solo Event on Day 6.

The winning Trios will move on to fight for Medals on the final day of the Olympic Games - August 20th! Team New Zealand will battle Team USA for Gold and Silver, while Team Great Britain faces the trial of Team Canada for Bronze!

2016 Summer Olympic Games - Day 7

The 5-Team event has been a centerpiece of these Summer Olympic Games, but the validity of the qualifying Heats format was severely challenged by the arrival of Team USA aka; The Dream Team!

Team Malaysia did their best to redeem past efforts, going one better than Team Great Britain in the opening matches with The Dream Team. A valiant effort, but ultimately meaningless as the United States of America stormed their way toward back-to-back Survival Sequence Gold Medals!

AbG was an individual stand-out for Malaysia, while Benjamin had a compelling struggle with Liam & nif of Great Britain. The Division 2 #1 contender, Benjamin, showed great tenacity in all of his battles, but did particularly well against The British, threatening to upend AcidicWonder in an attack that perfectly set up "The Predator" TonyTheTiger!

The action kicked into a higher gear when border rivals Team Canada took on The Dream Team. The final 5-2 result wasn't much better than their contemporaries, but Jerrod emerged on Day 7 with a Herculean effort that resulted in an all-out war with TonyTheTiger! Jerrod drew #1 Contender The Great Genku into the fray. Alas; Genku completely shut down the Canadian offense! Tension built as he fought his way toward the Undisputed Champion and his August 21st All-Star Summer Showdown opponent DECEPTION! The moment didn't disappoint, as both fighters struck critical blows! Everyone watching was anticipating another amazing Olympic moment from the champion, but his Day 5 feats were not to be replicated. A shocking end to give USA their third Heats victory.

Jerrod exploded once again, dominating Team Malaysia with four eliminations! Malaysia's relegation was already assured by their earlier defeat, but they never once gave up fighting. A tenacious effort from a team contesting the event for the first time at these 2016 Games!

The finalists were assured, but the final battle was an exciting rematch between the 2012 Gold and Silver Medal teams: USA versus Australia! Both teams were undefeated to this point, with many buying in to the idea Australia could be the one group to challenge The Dream Team! A belief that quickly started to fade as the rookie frontline of the Aussie offense was dominated by Benjamin. Former KFL Champion Statix came in hot to get rid of Benjamin, but the alarm was sounded when his run was briskly aborted by TonyTheTiger! Hall of Famer Oozaru still had the hopes of a nation in his hands, but his moment in the sun was rapidly dashed by Genku! It was all down to ElJobber and he made his entry count with a devastating assault on the #1 Contender! Elimination seemed assured, but suddenly Genku got off the ropes and started firing back! In an amazing resurgence Genku fought off the fresh man - doing away with the Aussies for a spectacular 5-2 victory!

From the five competing teams emerge four Semi Finalists. Day 10 of the Olympic Games will see Team Canada take on Team Australia in an elimination rematch. Team Great Britain will attempt to avenge their 5-1 loss against Team USA. The winners will then move on to the Gold Medal match on August 19th, with the losers competing for Bronze. Day 10 takes place August 15th!

2016 Summer Olympic Games - Day 6

The Summer Olympic Games are about fair competition and sport, so it was regrettable that Day 6 would produce the first casualty of combat. Celeste was completely overwhelmed in her match with New Zealand's Damo -- succumbing to a devastating offense that sent her to the incapacitated list!

"The Chosen One" obviously becomes one of the stand-out favourites heading in to Round 3, but he is far from alone! Singapore's Hall of Famer Shamrock destroyed the Dutch hope EasterBunny to the tune of a +13 impact -- unlucky for some!

The_Purple_Bunny, United: Mime and ElJobber were more modest in their victories, but remain strong contenders in the Medal chase. Their rise came at the expense of some of the other strong competitors in Round 2: Nephrite, ShawnMichaels and Chromatose.

In one of the hottest contests of the round, Indian Firecracker Rockey316 showed he still has what it takes to get the world excited! He eked out a win over Murdoink!

Today's winners progress to the Quarter Finals, which are currently scheduled for Day 9 - Sunday, August 14th!

2016 Summer Olympic Games - Day 5

Five nations contest the unique "Survival Sequence" team event at these Olympic Games, also known as "5-Team". It's a match that stretches the will of five fighters who must battle in 1 on 1 face-offs until a team is eliminated! At the 2012 Games, it was dominated by The Dream Team from USA, who took Gold away from the British Commonwealth nations competing. Fitting, then, that a random draw left USA watching from the sidelines as the other teams met for the first day of Heats!

2012 Silver Medalists showed why they're a hot chance this year by initiating Malaysia into the event with a devastating 5-2 walkover! However, it was the 2012 Bronze Medal team of Canada that proved to be the real excitement machine!

The atmosphere was tense as Great Britain faced off against Canada in the second match. The man called nif exploded out of the gates to give Britain an early 2-0 lead, slamming up against Jerrod in a clash that had Canada sweating. Liam quickly capitalized on Jerrod's fatigue, beginning a back and forth sequence. Politics obliterated Liam in record time and started roughing up AcidicWonder, but the Brit was able to hold on for the elimination. It was down to the reigning Undisputed Champion DECEPTION to endure three eliminations! Coming in hot, he had no trouble with AcidicWonder, but the pressure built as Ironize took the advantage with his entrance! DECEPTION was able to fight back, but the toll seemed too great for any fighter to come back from. Far from any ordinary fighter, the champ blasted through ShawnMichaels to earn Canada a spectacular 5-4 victory! Truly one of the immortal moments to come from these 2016 Olympic Games!

Team GB could've been ruined by the lead that slipped through their fingers, but they turned the unenviable draw of a follow-up match into a rallying point. Unbelievably, nif took four straight eliminations from Team Malaysia to secure a 5-1 domination! They then tested old rivals Australia, pushing former KFL Champion Statix out after three eliminations, to force Hall of Famer Oozaru to earn the win.

The first day of Heats then ended with another epic showdown: A face-off between Australia and Canada! The come-from-behind performance of Canada had captured everybody's imaginations and when KittyKat and BIGkev slammed into each other like two bulls the atmosphere was like the main event of UGP! They knock down, drag out battle eventually broke with Canada taking the 1-0 lead! Bronzie fought hard to even it up, but xtactics was hungry for an elimination. Statix brought the level up, batting around xtactics and Jerrod! Suddenly the tables were turned, and Politics & Statix were in a war! Canada had the momentary edge as Statix started to fade. His elimination was like the snapping of elastic as Oozaru charged right through the fatigued Politics! With things looking grim, the hero DECEPTION came out to chop down the Hall of Fame oak that was Oozaru! A feat that forced ElJobber into his first appearance - sudden death! With shades of the finish of DECEPTION's titanic charge through Tower of Power XV, ElJobber was able to shut the Undisputed Champion out! A victory that gave the Aussies a clean sweep from Heats Day 1!

The 5-Team Survival Sequence Heats will conclude Friday, August 12th right before the return of Friday Night Fights. Teams will finalize their Medal eligibility when Team USA gets involved in what's sure to be another exciting event!

2016 Summer Olympic Games - Day 4

The First Round of the Olympic Duo event produced some of the most exciting competition of the Games thus far! The random draw delivered a particularly scintillating array of match-ups, ranging from the close fought to the sublime stand-outs.

The Australians stood out with their stinging +7 impact against Learn & Clausner, but the pairing of New Zealand Duo Division all-stars Damo & Banging produced a more formidable performance behind the damage. They may be emerging as the Gold Medal favourites, but there are several teams making a convincing push into Round 2!

Jammer2Omega & Porygonix are a surprise pick for the USA Dream Team given the seasoned talent available, but they proved their worth with a solid win.  Team Canada's oddball team Mime & Politics were solid winners. Finns ArtemsFlow & Zmoke produced the upset of the event - taking out Hall of Famer Shamrock and his Singaporean teammate EricAngle!

The most anticipated match of Round 2 will be another chapter of the rivalry between "The Greek Crisis" maxilos & proXade and their British Invasion rivals Liam & nif! With only fifteen nations able to contest the event, the former team progressed to Round 2 thanks to a bye. A serendipitous prelude to the next round, scheduled for Tuesday, August 16th!

2016 Summer Olympic Games - Day 3

The unpredictable nature of the 3-way fight format produced a few minor surprises as the Summer Olympic Games appropriately entered Day 3!

2012 Gold Medalist CaTigeReptile showed exactly why she's the favourite to win this event, inflicting MAX Damage on ArtemisFlow! The Finn had just achieved the feat of eliminating Great Britain's Leroy from the fight, which at least took the sting out of the +30!

Chromatose, Murdoink and Zentile earned expected wins as the biggest threats to CTR's medal chase. One surprise elimination came in the form of Nephrite, who was upset by Evolved in an elimination predicament, before Australia Bronzie took a shock win. The combination of endurance and multi-opponent management could get the better of any of these fighters moving forward!

All of these winners move on to the Second Round of the 3way tournament event, scheduled for a big day of action on Sunday, August 14th!

The random draw placed two favourites in each half of the Solo Event bracket, but where Day 1 featured double MAX Damage victories, there was only one on Day 2!

ElJobber stepped up with an annihilating victory. New Zealand rival Damo was the one who under performed - comfortable in his win over Sgtf, but not nearly as remarkable as expected! That could be a testament to the tenacity of Estonian enigma Sgtf, who was expected to be a dark horse.

2016 Summer Olympic Games - Day 1

No surprises on the first day of competition as The United States and Canada emerge as favourites in the Solo Event. Both The_Purple_Bunny and Mime delivered perfect MAX Damage annihilations against their opponents. TPB's win over The_Rock, the slightly more impressive of the two.

Nephrite was a mild shock, easily upending Greece's maxilos to the tune of +3. ShawnMichaels of the British Exit also picked up a +3. Huge impacts in comparison to Singapore's Shamrock, who took his win without any bells or whistles. Nobody should under estimate him because of that, though. His victory was assured!

All of today's winners advance to the Second Round of the Solo event. The second half of the bracket will be wrapped up tomorrow, with Round 2 scheduled to take place on Thursday, August 11th.

2016 Summer Olympics Opening Ceremony

The world is a wonderful place filled with interesting traditions and people. Every four years, competition breaks to gather the world's best in a contest of these diverse realms. The Summer Olympic Games is a competition unlike any seen in The Great Arena! It unifies fighters under a common banner, testing friends and enemies alike under the ultimate competitive scenarios!

The 2016 Summer Olympic Games will feature medal events in Solo, 3way, Duo, Trio, 5-on-5 Survival Sequence, and Battle Royal! Competition runs daily from August 6th through to August 20th. Who will compete for the gold? Let us meet the national teams!

Team Argentina: marianokombat
We haven't seen a lot of marianokombat this year, so there won't be a lot of heavy expectations on his performance at these Olympic Games. He made a strong entry into the Second Round of the 2016 Mid-Year Grand Slam tournament, where he took a moderate defeat from Genku. Good preparation.

Team Australia: ElJobber, Statix, Loopster, Corrupt hydraslash, Bronzie, BIGkev, acez & Oozaru
The Aussies have an excellent team this year, with several of their stars really gunning in 2016. They are led by three-time Undisputed Champion ElJobber, but their real strength lies in tremendous depth. Statix has been a major player ever since winning the KFL Championship at Ultimate Grand Prix VI! Loopster will inject a lot of enthusiasm into the team, having exploded in July as one of the most in-demand fighters of The Invasion! hydraslash has also been a break-out in 2016, bringing much needed Duo experience into this team. Hall of Famer Oozaru is also very notable, coming out of retirement to represent his country one more time in team events!

Team Bolivia: queve
He's a controversial figure from The Great Arena's past, but he'll return to represent his country in these Olympic Games. Not expected to play a significant role in shaping this year's event.

Team Bulgaria: Asesino
Better remembered for competing in the 2014 KFL Winter Olympics, Asesino started the year strong by making the Third Round of Tournament 63. He's a strange customer and could be one of the dark horses who breaks out at the Olympics!

Team Canada: DECEPTION (c), United: Mime, Politics, Jerrod, Shadaloo, Torchia, Bee_07, xtactics & KittyKat
Team Canada have to be considered one of the major medal contenders at this year's Summer Games. It's surprising that undefeated, Hall of Fame Gold Medal Duo Marz & Violent`J are absent from the team, but Canada will still front a strong side, with Politics finding an ally in Duo expert Mime to pursue back-to-back Gold. The simple fact that the Undisputed Champion is on this team cannot be over looked, either. DECEPTION is the fighter of 2016 and he could be adding more metal to that Undisputed Championship!

Team Chile: Murdoink
The lone Chilean comes into these Games with one of his best years on record. He electrified the Division 2 stakes early in the year, picking up gold along the way, and is always known as an upstart threat. He's had a slight slump in the past few months, but this could be his time to shake it off!

Team Croatia: Nephrite
Nephrite represents another of the European contingent with a tremendous Winter Olympic pedigree, but 2014 Gold is hardly his only medal! Nephrite took Silver in the unique three-way event of 2012 and will no doubt return to try to go one better!

Team Czech Republic: VR-FIST
VR-FIST hasn't spent a lot of time in The Great Arena, but as one of the fighting members of The European Union he's given himself his best chance to make a surprise impact at these Olympic Games!

Team Estonia: Sgtf
It could be a game plan of all or nothing for Estonia at these Olympic Games. The enigmatic Sgtf has been fighting with an edge in 2016, securing some impressive wins! As a member of The European Union he made an impact on Monday Nights, but he'll be all alone and fighting with a do or die attitude.

Team Finland: ArtemisFlow & Zmoke
Finland will maximize their chances with two competitors at the 2016 Summer Games. ArtemisFlow is memorable for his time as one of the Project Punch-Out fighters, while Zmoke is remembered in infamy for burning bright, but blazing out. It will be a challenge for them to find medals, but you can be sure they'll try their hardest to finish ahead.

Team Great Britain: ShawnMichaels, Liam, nif, Dez-Burnett, "Bad Bad" Leroy, Ironize & AcidicWonder
The controversy of the recent British Exit hangs over this year's Great Britain team. As the only non-Brexit fighter on the team, "Bad Bad" Leroy will have to put their differences aside to bring pride back to the kingdom. As much as they've been unpopular, The British Invasion fighters will come into these Games with a sense of unity. Which could just boost them to something special!

Team Greece: maxilos & proXade
They started 2016 as a team with a chip on their shoulder, but "The Greek Crisis" maxilos & proXade have turned their run into a star-making charge through the Duo Division! They're unsurprisingly expected to make their biggest impact in the Duo Division event, where cohesion should be their advantage against some of the inexperienced nations. Real dark horse contenders for a medal!

Team Hungary: Chromatose
The Hungarian will be a major player at these Olympic Games! Chromatose has been throwing his weight around as a member of The European Union, an unlucky runner-up in this year's Fighter For Europe tournament! He's in great form and could really upset some of the favourites!

Team India: Rockey316
Team India may only be fielded by one fighter, but as one of the beloved figures of the ICWW era, this Hall of Famer will do his country proud! He was known as "The Fire Cracker" and his explosive style could just add an Olympic Medal to his list of career achievements!

Team Iran: W0LF
Iran's W0LF is largely an untested obscurity in The Great Arena, but he'll get a major spotlight as one of the newcomers to the Summer Olympic Games. He's a complete unknown and that should make him one of the exciting additions to this unique set of circumstances!

Team Israel: Miller, CCShadow & Sid
Miller & Sid had a few Duo Division matches earlier this year, but it's unsurprising that legendary former Duo Division Champion CCShadow will step in as Miller's partner. Given the pedigree of half the team, they could be one of the surprise breakouts in the Duo Event.

Team Italy: Shen_DuHBK & giandavil
Shen_DuHBK famously defected from The Invasion to The European Union earlier this year, giving him a chance to prepare to represent his Italian roots alongside giandavil. They're both longstanding and respect names. They worked together way back in 2012. It should be interesting to see if they can find synergy in 2016!

Team Malaysia: vaiisekk, Learn, Clausner, AbG & shin
The Malaysian contingent has increased its number from the last Olympic Games. Will that produce a stronger result? Fielding a five-man team will allow them to take on the Survival Sequence medal chase. They come in as heavy underdogs with rookie competitor shin and AbG.

Team Mexico: Celeste & Mk_FrEaK
The Summer Olympics are supposed to be a political free environment, but there will no doubt be a swell of support for Team Mexico should they find themselves facing off against the USA. Celeste has shown many times she's got the goods to upset some of the best. It would be an amazing story if these two warriors could take on the world's best!

Team Morocco: Evolved
Morocco arrives at the Summer Olympic Games for the very first time! Evolved is another of the somewhat obscure names in The Great Arena, a holder over from the early years affiliated with Webchat. What he lacks in profile, he makes up for in excitement to have another great nation represented!

Team Netherlands: EasterBunny
Don't be fooled! EasterBunny has a pedigree going all the way back to the earliest days of The Great Arena! He's got a lot of experience in the world league as one of the memorable Project Punch-Out fighters of years gone by. The Netherlands will be one of the countries to watch, particularly in the 3way stakes.

Team New Zealand: "The Chosen One" Damo, Banging & Kiara85
Quality and teamwork could be the edge for this New Zealand team. Though few in number, they're a high caliber trio who'll contest several of the major events. All three has extensive experience in team scenarios, which puts them right in the medal picture for the Duo and Trios events! "The Chosen One" Damo is, of course, one of the all-time great Duo Division Champions, but also a very prominent solo competitor in his own right. Banging has experience in both fields as an ICWW Immortal. It will be very interesting to see how this team performs!

Team Nigeria: kingjolly
There's always a good vibe that comes with kingjolly. He tends to drift in and out of competition, but when he applies himself the results are artful! We've seen him upset some of the biggest names in the league. He could really surprise as one of the few African fighters entering these Games!

Team Poland: "Big Johnny" Bofh & Cukier
"Big Johnny" Bofh arrives at these Olympic Games with an ally! Cukier will allow Bofh to capitalize on his Duo skills. They're one of the many combinations in the shadow of big names from North America and the British Commonwealth. A team with great potential to shock the world!

Team Portugal: "Portuguese Pegasus" Zentile
Portugal has been well represented in 2016 thanks to the dynamic fighting style of Zentile! This Pegasus electrified as both a KFL and Division 2 Champion, and has been one of the major forces vexing The Invasion as part of The European Union! Higher-minded ideals will be put aside as Zentile represents his country alone. An instance where doing it for himself will be an asset!

Team Singapore: Shamrock & EricAngle
Four Hall of Famers will march for their nations at these Summer Olympic Games! Shamrock is one of the ICWW Immortals we haven't seen in quite a while. He made a major impact as winner of the Round Robin Gold Medal at the 2012 Games -- an event that's been retired, this year. He was also a Bronze Medalist in the Battle Royal event, and is always a danger in every match type. Now that he has EricAngle to back him up, every nation should be on high notice!

Team South Africa: J1sy
Obscurity belies the fact that J1sy has a lot of potential as a fighter! He blazed bright when he first entered The Great Arena, amassing a wealth of experience at the cost of his career. He was on the incapacitated list for a long time, but he's here now to represent South Africa for the first time in these Summer Olympic Games!

Team Spain: Red_Spaniard
Another of the stalwarts of the international scene - Red_Spaniard has been part of the European Union attacking the Invasion on Monday Nights. He's the only representative of Spain, but he takes the mantle with pride!

Team Thailand: Lays & Mr.Pirat
Thailand brings an interesting energy with their two fighters. Will they show Muay Thai spirit to strike out at the rest of the league? Let's hope so!

Team United Arab Emirates: jaytea, The_Rock, Intel & KurtAngle
Team UAE has a chance to contest several medals at these Olympic Games thanks to their number, including the Trios event that's new to this year! jaytea waves the flag for this group, with The_Rock providing some ICWW era muscle.

The Dream Team relies on expertise in every area, fielding the largest group of any of the national teams of 2016! 3way Gold Medalist CaTigeReptile joins the team this year, defecting from China back to the USA. They aren't just relying on bigger being better, either! They're expected to factor in to every medal at this year's Summer Olympic Games, entering specialist fighters into all the major categories. With five Undisputed Champions and the greatest Hall of Famer of all time on their side, they're a shoo-in!

Team Venezuela: Maridany
Don't discount Venezuela just because they're the last team to enter alphabetically! Maridany has had a very interesting year and could be one of the upstart fighters should enough things go his way!
