Chairman Mick was dismissive of the Dead Or Alive X challenge issued by Genku when he went on record last week. The league official vaguely side-stepped vocal jousting, pinning the challenge on Genku's habit of "biting off more than he can chew" with the promise of a "quality opponent".
If the Chairman thought that was going to be the end of it - he was sorely mistaken. Genku led The Invasion to a win during the main event of last week's Friday Night Fights, using the victory as a platform to reiterate his malicious intent.
Today Genku underlined his point, reiterating the message he delivered on FNF. He says Mick is a failure as a fighter and a Chairman. He promises he will be going to Dead Or Alive X. If Mick doesn't show up, he'll be admitting he's a failure as a man - and a coward!
Genku has been targeting Mick with a campaign of criticism since April, blaming the official for the booking decisions that led to his loss at Ultimate Grand Prix VII. He's been operating under the belief that Mick has conspired to keep him from the Undisputed Championship. A theory that gained some circumstantial support when Genku lost guaranteed qualification for the Royal Roulette match during the July 21st "birthday bash" edition of FNF. Mick was guest of honor.
Dead Or Alive X takes place at the special time of Thursday, August 10th, celebrating the 15th Anniversary of ICWW with a massive line-up headlined by a Duo Division Championship match between "The Pacific Connection" Oozaru & Banging and rivals CCShadow & Scott-Howell!
Chairman Mick reigned supreme as a 3-time World Champion and "Spirit of Vengeance" in ICWW, but will he return to the fighting arena to answer Genku's challenge? We'll find out in just a few days as Genku and The Invasion attend an action packed special event!
