Genku Blames Officials For UGP Loss

Ultimate Grand Prix VII brought closure to many of the heated feuds simmering throughout the last year, but for Genku there can be no catharsis. The former Undisputed Champion suffered a humbling defeat at the hands of newly inducted Hall of Famer: Hokey. A farewell from regular competition.

Hokey was the fighter who kept Genku twisting in the wind for months with a plot to discredit his Invasion Election win. The psychological torture nearly ruined Genku's reputation -- even as he claimed a brief, controversial reign as Undisputed Champion.

UGP7 was Genku's chance to finally take revenge against the mastermind behind his torment, but his unshakable delusions of grandeur kept his focus trained on championship gold, and the officials he blames for its loss. With Hokey now out of the picture; Genku once again railed against booking staff, events leading up to his defeat, and league official Mick in particular!

Genku blamed officials for booking the high-profile UGP match in the first place! He said next time a Hall of Famer is on the way out, they should book a Division 2 no-name instead of their "actual top star" who was treated like a "useless jobber".

Despite being found the legitimate winner: Genku even attacked The Invasion Election itself, calling officials' indulgence of The Invasion he briefly led a "failure". He also singled out Mick, calling him "a failure", and his attempts to improve upon a past concept "sad".

Genku continues to believe he should be competing in the top title matches and blames Mick and League Officials for not putting him in them. This comes even after he was granted a controversial, successful title shot in February, and the first-ever Undisputed Championship challenge to feature during Friday Night Fights. The latter was his second title match loss to reigning champ VenoMark.
