ICWW: Civil Action (Jul 1, 2003)

Episode #33

Buddy Luv and Stat-Man were ring-side to call all the action for the new look Civil Action! The crowd was pumped as Buddy Luv and Stat-Man discussed things, including the out with the red, and in with the black and white for Civil Action. Stat-Man said that statistically speaking it was a vast improvement. Buddy Luv agreed, and also agreed that it was a vast improvement with Rhyno holding the heavyweight championship, taking Statix on in a non-title fight. Stat-Man mentioned a match between Marc Scott and Chris Benoit, and said that he was under the impression that these two were becoming quite good friends outside the ring.

Albert Beefcake's raring theme music hit the arena next as the Alaskan stud strutted his way to the ring, for the next elimination in the Big Beefer competition. He announced that this round's elimination went down with a steep seventy-one percent of votes, and he was none other than, Loopster! Albert then reminded fans that they were on the serious end of the stick, with the final three left! Banging, Rockey Rakesh and Shaggy 2 Dope! He told fans that nominations would be announced on the new Aftershock.

Tag team champions, Matt Hardy and the Hurricane, made their way down to the ring next. They said that they'd been thinking about the situation and had a proposition for the Pacific Connection. Oozaru and Banging made their way to the ring, looking inquisitive. Hardy said that since Oozaru and Banging displayed some signs of Mattitude, they had a special offer for them. They would grant them a tag team title shot at Highway to Hell, if they could have a handicapped match against one of them. Banging and Oozaru looked puzzled, and Hurricane assured them that there was no catch, just have the match, and they get a shot. Oozaru and Banging conversed, and Oozaru said that he would take them on.

Handicap match
Matt Hardy & The Hurricane versus Oozaru
Banging slipped to the outside as the Hurricane took his place on the apron. ICWW handicap rules give the solo star a chance, with the team having to tag their partner in. Oozaru and Hardy tied up, Oozaru getting the advantage with a knee to the gut, which he converted into a devastating gut wrench powerbomb! Hardy hit the ropes, striking the Aussie giant with a clothesline, and tagged into his partner Hurricane. They looked to double team Oozaru, but found themselves on the receiving end of a double clothesline! Oozaru went for the legal man in Hurricane, sending him into the ropes but missed with the clothesline, giving Hurricane the opportunity to drop him with the floating neck breaker! The super hero stomped down on his fallen foe, before tagging into his partner. Hardy went off the second rope with a leg drop, slamming down on the Aussie. He picked him up, locking up in a front face lock, but Oozaru countered with a chokeslam! Both superstars stayed on the mat, but Hardy managed to make the tag, bringing Hurricane in who connected with the eye of the hurricane! Hurricane made the tag once more, leaving Matt Hardy to hit the twist of fate for good measure, before rolling Oozaru up. The assault continued, with the tag champs stomping down on Oozaru, with Banging trying to make the save, but getting a double teaming of his own.
Winner: Matt Hardy via pin fall [6:47]

Backstage Chris Benoit approached Rhyno. He said that tonight he faced Marc Scott, and Rhyno would face Statix. The crippler told Rhyno that if he didn't want to see him turning up during his match, then the same better go for him. Benoit said that he enjoyed tag teaming with Rhyno, and he'd be extremely disappointed if things had to turn sour, because there was no mistake that he would take Rhyno down with unrelenting, toothless aggression. Rhyno growled, before goring Benoit straight into the hallway wall! Officials were near by, and kept the two superstars apart.

Elsewhere The Rock was captivating an audience of Loopster, Chaos Drone and Kurt Angle. The Rock said he was in the arena to watch the Nomad in his match, because he admitted he'd been out of this caliber of competition for a while. The Rock said that the Nomad might not be a total pushover. The Rock said that the Nomad might make the Rock work up a little sweat. But if there was one thing the Nomad would not do, is beat the Rock again. Kurt Angle asked the Rock if he wanted to be a part of a new team Angle. The Rock told Angle to shut his mouth, and know his role.

The Nomad versus The Godfather
The Godfather grooved his way to the ring accompanied by his ladies for his second in-ring experience, this time against the Nomad. Dancing in the ring was soon interrupted when the Nomad raced to the ring, kicking things off. Nomad took Godfather down with a bulldog and taunted to the crowd, leaving him open for an atomic drop. The Godfather stomped down on the Nomad, before he forced the Godfather back with a right hand, and struck him with a crescent kick! Nomad picked him up looking for a whip, but Godfather countered, clamping down with a sleeper hold. The Nomad started to fade, but found a second wind, taking the Godfather down with a snap mare, and a spinal tap kick! The Nomad tied up, and dropped the Godfather with the Bible Black, and scored the cover. With the match over, the Deputy raced down to the ring, and rounded up the Godfather's ladies, taking them to the back with him while waving his nightstick.
Winner: The Nomad via pin fall [5:11]

Tito Ortiz made his way to the ring next, and called out Jason Shamrock. The hardcore champion made himself present, and asked what Ortiz wanted. Ortiz challenged Shamrock to a shot for his hardcore title. Shamrock got in Ortiz' face, and asked for one good reason. Ortiz told Shamrock that he didn't have much of a say in the matter, because the title, although not many realised, still carried the 24/7 rule.

Hardcore championship challenge
Tito Ortiz versus Jason Shamrock [c]
Ortiz attacked Shamrock with a brutal elbow shot, and continued to drive him toward the turnbuckle with violent body rips and elbow shots. Shamrock found himself busted open very early, from the stinging elbow shots to the head. Ortiz rolled to the outside, and snatched a chair from ringside, but ran right into a drop kick from the hardcore champ. Shamrock clamped down with the ankle lock, as Ortiz desperately scrambled for the bottom rope. He managed to roll over, kicking Shamrock off, and then was onto his feet. He used the steel chair to absolutely wipe Shamrock out, but collapsed with his ankle clearly giving him trouble. Suddenly the Y2Juggalo countdown blasted into the arena and Shaggy 2 Dope raced down to the ring, and hit the psycho flip on both men! He covered Shamrock, and scored the three count, the referee awarding him the championship before he ran to the backstage area, championship in hand.
Winner: Shaggy 2 Dope via pin fall [10:42]

In the offices Gwen Lucifer was sitting at her desk when Albert Beefcake entered. He asked Gwen if she had seen her husband Michael Lucifer anywhere. She told him that she hadn't seen him since last week, and admitted to being a little concerned. Albert pondered out loud that he may've been abducted, but then admitted it was more likely he was still rarred off about Marz. Gwen asked him what he was talking about, and he told her he had told Lucifer that Marz was responsible for all the attacks on him. Gwen looked concerned, and asked Albert to keep an eye on Marz personally for her. He said he would be happy to keep a watchful eye under the fiendish Juggalo. As Albo left, Gwen was surprised to get an e-mail from the mystery CEO, that told her she should make it known that Ironize and Statix would face each other in a match for Highway to Hell, under regular, disqualification rules.

In the locker rooms Chris Jericho entered and told the ass clown peasants to bow before their king. Dez Burnett asked Jericho who he thought he was, to which Jericho furrowed his brow and shouted that he was the king of the world! He attacked Burnett, throwing him into the wall and then using a wooden bench to beat down on him. Devon Storm danced and cheered Jericho on.

Chris Benoit versus Marc Scott
In the ring the number one contender for the heavyweight championship limped his way to the ring, showing some signs of the attack made against him by his former tag team partner earlier. Marc Scott wasted no time getting to the ring, and taking full advantage of a quick start over the injured wolverine. He went to work on the body with hard shots, and sent Benoit off the ropes, taking him down with a hard flapjack. Benoit winced as he felt the effects of the flapjack, followed by a big knee drop. Scott went for the cover, but only scored a two count, prompting him to encourage a faster count from the ref. Benoit took the time to gather his strength, taking Scott down with a snap suplex. Benoit pulled Scott to his feet with a waist lock, and slammed him down hard once again with a German suplex with a bridge. He rolled over, looking for a second successive German, but Scott countered the move with a stunner. Both men were down, as Benoit crawled over to Scott and locked up with the crippler crossface! Scott fought the hold, managing to reach the ropes and break the hold. Benoit stomped down on Scott, and looked to clamp down once again with the crossface! Scott used his free hand to rake the eyes of Benoit, buying the time to stagger to his feet, and drop Benoit with the grudge, leaving him ripe for a cover.
Winner: Marc Scott via pin fall [6:49]

Cameras turned to the backstage area where the International champion was entering the locker rooms. Michael Lucifer appeared out of nowhere and attack the champ, pounding down on him with savage right hands! He picked Marz up above his head in a military press, and dropped to one knee, looking to do what Oozaru did long ago, and bust the ribs up of Marz! Without warning Lucifer was attacked from behind, and Marz fell safely to the ground as Abel Lucifer beat down on his brother! Both Marz and Abel stomped down as Michael did all he could to cover up. Marz said he didn't know what Lucifer's problem was, before spitting blood at him and leaving.

Rhyno versus Statix
The Heavyweight champion made his way to the ring for a non-title match up against the Sensation, and man many consider should have been in the running for the title - Enter the Statix. Statix entered the ring and stared over to Rhyno, as the referee took the heavyweight championship belt away. Statix shot off the ropes and struck hard with a spinning heel kick, knocking Rhyno down. Keeping the pace fast, Statix hit the ropes again, and brought his body weight down on the heavyweight champion with the rolling thunder. Statix went for a cover but only scored a two count. Rhyno made it to his feet, as Statix hit the ropes again, this time finding himself on the wrong end of a spinebuster. Rhyno stomped down on Statix, before slamming him down with a double powerbomb. Statix managed to kick out of the bridge right at the last second. The sensation tried to strike Rhyno down with a thrust kick, but Rhyno fell with it into the ropes, and slammed Statix down with the gore on the return. Rhyno covered with a lateral press, getting the three count.
Winner: Rhyno via pin fall [3:42]

Special mention:
The Australian giant, Oozaru, does his best when he takes on the combined forces of the tag team champions.
